First, the translational motion model is used because of the fact that complex motion can be decomposed as a sum of translational components. Then in this application, the edge gray horizontal and vertical projections are used as the block matching feature for the motion vectors estimation. The proposed algorithm reduces the motion estimation computations by calculating the onedimensional vectors rather than the two-dimensional ones. Once the global motion is robustly estimated, relatively stationary background can be almost completely eliminated through the inter-frame difference method. To achieve an accurate object extraction result, the higher-order statistics (HOS) algorithm is used to discriminate backgrounds and moving objects. Experimental results validate that the proposed method is an effective way for global motion estimation and object extraction.展开更多

We measured two-dimensional instantaneous velocity field in turbulent boundary layers of flat plate with the momentum thickness Reynolds number Reθ=2 167. Scaling laws have different forms in different wall distance and scale. We proposed an expected scaling law and compared it with the She-Leveque (SL) scaling law based on the wavelet analysis and traditional statistical methods. Results show that the closer to the wall, the more the expected scaling law approached to the SL scaling law.展开更多

Analytical results are presented in multiple-target case as well as in regions of clutter power transitions. The primary and the secondary interfering targets are assumed to be fluctuating in accordance with the SWII target fluctuation model. As the number of noncoherently integrated pulses increases, lower threshold values and consequently better detection performances are obtained in both homogeneous and multiple target background models. However, the false alarm rate performance of OSSO-CFAR(Constant False Alarm Rate) scheme at clutter edges is worsen with increasing the postdetection integrated pulses. As predicted, the OSGO-CFAR detector accommodates the presence of spurious targets in the reference window, given that their number is within its allowable range in each local window, and controls the rate of false alarm when the contents of the reference cells have clutter boundaries.展开更多

Due to the changing permeability property of CFG piles, the whole consolidation process of the composite ground with CFG piles was divided into two stages, i.e., the early stage(permeable CFG pile bodies) and the later stage(impermeable pile bodies). Then, the consolidation equation of the composite foundation with CFG piles was established by using the Terzaghi one-dimensional consolidation theory. Consequently, the unified formula to calculate the excess pore water pressure was derived with the specific solutions for the consolidation degree of composite ground, reinforced area and underlying stratum under instant load obtained respectively. Finally, combined with a numerical example, influencing rules by main factors(including the replacement rate m, the treatment depth h1, the permeability coefficient Ks1, Kv2 and compression modulus Es1, Es2 of reinforced area and underlying stratum) on the consolidation property of composite ground with CFG piles were discussed in detail. The result shows that the consolidation velocity of underlying stratum is slower than that of the reinforced area. However, the consolidation velocity of underlying stratum is slow at first then fast as a result of the transferring of effective stress to the underlying stratum during the dissipating process of excess pore water pressure.展开更多

The results show: That most of the boundaries are located between magnetic latitude(MLAT) of 60°–70° with the mean MLAT for B1E/B1 I to be 64.30°N/63.22°N and 64.48°S/63.26°S in the NH and SH, respectively, indicating that B1 E and B1 I in both hemispheres are located in conjugated magnetic field lines with B1 E ~1.2° poleward of B1I; that the MLAT of B1 E and B1 I in both hemispheres shift to lower MLAT(from ~70° to ~55°) as geomagnetic activity increases; that MLAT of both B1 E and B1 I and their differences slowly decrease from dusk to midnight with some difference in both hemispheres during different levels of geomagnetic activities; that B1 E and B1 I in both hemisphere decrease linearly with Kp and exponentially with Dst, AE, and SYM-H, respectively, demonstrating that auroral particle precipitation is closely related with geomagnetic activity; that in different magnetic local time(MLT) sectors, the changing rates of the boundaries with Kp are different, and the rates of B1 E are generally larger than that of B1 I, implying that the difference between B1 E and B1 I reduce with increasing geomagnetic activity. Compared with previous studies, the statistical results based on the long-term large database in this paper can well reflect the properties of the equatorial boundaries of auroral precipitation and may be used for physical modeling or space weather forecasting in future.展开更多
