Recently, some research efforts have shown that face images possibly reside on a nonlinear sub-manifold. Though Laplacianfaees method considered the manifold structures of the face images, it has limits to solve face ...Recently, some research efforts have shown that face images possibly reside on a nonlinear sub-manifold. Though Laplacianfaees method considered the manifold structures of the face images, it has limits to solve face recognition problem. This paper proposes a new feature extraction method, Two Dimensional Laplacian EigenMap （2DLEM）, which especially considers the manifold structures of the face images, and extracts the proper features from face image matrix directly by using a linear transformation. As opposed to Laplacianfaces, 2DLEM extracts features directly from 2D images without a vectorization preprocessing. To test 2DLEM and evaluate its performance, a series of ex- periments are performed on the ORL database and the Yale database. Moreover, several experiments are performed to compare the performance of three 2D methods. The experiments show that 2DLEM achieves the best performance.展开更多

T...As a unique local convention of Islamic proselytizing, Uyghur religious specialists in the present Turpan Basin are using a kind of folk songs ＂qoshaq＂ to organize motifs and materials for their religious sermons. Though the poems are particularly used as religious texts at mosque preaching and other chances of Islamic proselytizing, their contents give insights into the ways of local Uyghurs to understand various daily happenings through the lens of Islamic doctrines. This issue can be taken as a process of the localization of Islamic culture among Uyghurs, therefore, it provides comprehensive pictures on the Islamic ways of local Uyghurs to accommodate their social realities. Through undertaking analyses on the structure, style, contents of the poems, this paper makes efforts to unfold the symbolic landscape of the poems implied, making clear the logic bases of those religious motifs and the attitudes Uyghur preachers had toward social realities.展开更多

It was proved by Ayzenberg that real universal complexes can not be nondegenerately mapped into complex universal complexes when dimension is 3. Confinable properties of Gauss images under the mean curvature flow have been obtained, which reveal that if the Gauss image of the initial submanifold is contained in a certain sublevel set of the v-function, then all the Gauss images of the submanifolds under the mean curvature flow are also contained in the same sublevel set of the v-function. Under such restrictions, curvature estimates in terms of v-function composed with the Gauss map can be carried out.展开更多
