Its self-magnetization only by adjusting slurry temperatureand pH value was able to enhance its magnetism, producing the so-called the magnetized pyrite, which was further used as magneticseeds in the flotation of pyrite ore to promote flotation recovery. Tests, such as self-magnetization, vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM), XPS, size analysis and flotation were carried out. The optimal conditions of the pyrite self-magnetization were pulp pH of11.81 and temperature of 65 °C. The magnetized pyrite was characteristic of the valence change of elemental iron, resulting instronger magnetism of the magnetized pyrite than that of the original pyrite. Then, this magnetized pyrite was applied to the magneticseeding flotation (MSF) of pyrite ore. It was found that the recovery of pyrite flotation grew with the increase of magneticsusceptibility of the magnetic seeds?the magnetized pyrite; and the proper dosage of the magnetized pyrite was 100 g/t. The reasonbehind the increased recovery lies in that the magnetized pyrite promoted the magnetic agglomeration between fine pyrite particles;and the fact that the stronger the magnetism of the magnetized pyrite, the larger the aggregate size, indicates that the agglomeration issomewhat in line with the flotation, also confirming that the MSF is more suitable for fine particles than traditional flotation.展开更多

The role of the different interactions in the Hamiltonian is explored. When only the nearest-neighbor interaction and the single-ion anisotropy are included, our results indicate that there are compensation points at finite temperatures. When the next-nearest-neighbor interaction exceeds a minimum value that depends on the other parameters in the Hamiltonian, the compensation point disappears. The next-nearest-neighbor interaction has the effect of changing the compensation temperature.展开更多

Both Pd and Ag addition induce a decrease in resistivity and an increase in temperature at which the resistivity reaches its maximum. This is mainly due to the improvement of grain boundaries caused by the segregation of good conductive metal grains on the grain boundaries/surfaces. In addition, both Pd and Ag addition induce a large enhancement of room temperature magnetoresistance (RTMR). Note that 27% molar ratio of Ag addition induces a large RTMR of about 70%, about ten times larger than pure LCBMO, whereas 27% molar ratio Pd addition brings a much larger RTMR of about 170%. The large enhancements of MR can be attributed to the decrease in resistivity of the samples caused by the good conductive metal. On the other hand, the polarization of Pd atoms near the Mn ions on the grain surfaces/boundaries plays a very im-portant role in the increase in MR, which induces a large number of spin clusters in Pd-added samples.展开更多

The peak in susceptibility against temperature shifts to lower temperature when the bias field increases. As the field still increases, the peak breaks into two peaks. One peak still shifts to lower temperature; the other shifts to higher temperature. Zero bias field susceptibility was measured at different frequencies. The peak value decreases as the increase of frequency, but it does not shift to higher temperature as reported previously. The results show that SrRuO 3 is not spin glass, but ferromagnet.展开更多

The initial value of the derivative of the solution is the expression of magnetization, which is valid for any spin quantum number S. The Chebyshev equation is transformed from an ordinary differential equation obtained when we dealt with Heisenberg model, in order to calculate all three components of magnetization, by many-body Green's function under random phase approximation. The Chebyshev functions with argument being greater than 1 are discussed. This paper shows that the Chebyshev polynomials with their argument being greater than 1 have their physical application.展开更多

In this paper we study theoretically the dependence of nonequilibrium spin polarization (NESP) in NMS during spin-polarized injection through the magnetic p-n junction. Based on the theory in semiconductor physics, a model is established and the boundary conditions are determined in the case of no external spin-polarized injection and low bias. The control parameters that may influence the NESP in NMS are indicated by calculating the distribution of spin polarization. They are the doping concentrations, the equilibrium spin polarization in MS and the bias. The effective spin-polarized injection can be realized more easily by optimizing the above parameters.展开更多

The energy per nucleon EA(δ) calculated in the full range of spin polarization for symmetric nuclear matter and pure neutron matter fulfills a parabolic law. In both the cases the spin-symmetry energy is calculated as a function of the baryonic density along with the related quantities such as the magnetic susceptibility and the Landau parameter G0. The main effect of the three-body force is to strongly reduce the degenerate Fermi gas magnetic susceptibility even more than the value with only two-body force. The equation of state is monotonically increasing with the density for all spin-aligned configurations studied here so that no any signature is found for a spontaneous transition to a ferromagnetic state.展开更多

Applying the approach, we obtain the quasi-particle spectrum of the model describing the superfluid phase transition that arises when a Feshbach resonance pairing occurs in a dilute Fermi gas in the presence of the magnetization fields and . When the gap parameter Δ is smaller than one or both of the magnetization fields, the spectrum manifests roton-type structure dramatically different from the spectrum in the absence of the magnetization fields.展开更多

The Green's function is obtained by using distorted wave approach and the scattering matrix is related by Fisher-Lee relationship. In addition to reproducing the results of Papp's and Xu's in parallel and antiparallel configurations, we also obtain further results, where arbitrary orientations of the magnetic barriers and arbitrary number of barriers are included. The main finding of our results is that the signs of polarizations can be switched around some "geometric unpolarized windows". The well-known antiparallel configuration has no such characteristics. Furthermore, we discuss spin-related partial densities of states in both polarized and unpolarized structures.展开更多

By adjusting the chemical potential in leads, two channels in this system are created, and in the presence of magnetic flux the conductances for the two channels present remarkable difference from each other. When the quantum dots are made of ferromagnetic materials, the levels of quantum dots are spin dependent, then spin polarization comes about in the two channels. Furthermore, in some regions spin polarization in the different channels are opposite. We consider that this model can be a device prototype for spin filtering and spin separation.展开更多
