A required finite element method(FEM) model applicable for narrow gap CMT and CMT+P MIX welding was established based on the interactions between arc,base metal and filler metal.A novel method of simplifying wire f...A required finite element method(FEM) model applicable for narrow gap CMT and CMT+P MIX welding was established based on the interactions between arc,base metal and filler metal.A novel method of simplifying wire feeding pulses and heat input pulses was supposed under the conduction of equivalent input.The method together with composed double-ellipse heat sources was included in the model.The model was employed in the investigation of thermal cycling and the identification of the softened zone of AA7A52 base plates.Low-frequency behavior emerged in the form of low-cooling rate sects,which were not expected under experimental conditions.The softened zone including the quenched zone and averaging zone of the base plate was much wider internal the base plate than that close to the surfaces.The reliability of the predictions in thermal cycling was supported by infrared imaging test results of the thermal cycle process.展开更多

However, in the traditional impregnation method, it is difficult to obt...Supported metal catalysts play a vital role in the chemical industry, and the metal-support interaction is an important property of the catalyst. However, in the traditional impregnation method, it is difficult to obtain sufficient metal-support interactions owing to the mobility of the metal precursor during evaporation drying. Here, freeze drying is applied during impregnation instead of evaporation drying for enhancing the metal-support interactions. 57 Fe ZSM-5 was chosen as a representative catalyst. A quantitative analysis was conducted based on Mossbauer spectroscopy. Compared with traditional evaporation-drying catalyst, freeze-drying catalyst has stronger metal-support interactions. In addition, more iron species are confined in the channel and smaller metal sizes and less diversity are obtained. The compositional change is also proved because of the superior performance of the freeze-drying catalyst during N2O decomposition. This method can be extended to other supported metal catalysts prepared through an impregnation method, which can be used to tune the metal-support interactions and metal sizes.展开更多

This ranges from slow cooling ...The precipitation behaviour during cooling from solution annealing of high alloyed 7049A aluminium alloy was investigated, covering the complete cooling-rate-range of technical interest. This ranges from slow cooling rates close to equilibrium up to rates above complete supersaturation and is covering seven orders of magnitude in cooling rate (0.0005 to 5000 K/s). The continuous cooling precipitation behaviour of 7049A alloy was recorded by combining different differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) techniques and microstructure analysis by SEM and Vickers hardness testing. The high alloyed, high strength and quench sensitive wrought aluminium alloy 7049A was investigated during quenching from solution annealing by conventional DSC in the cooling rate range of 0.0005 to 4 K/s. In this range at least two exothermal precipitation reactions were observed: a high temperature reaction in a narrow temperature interval of 450-430℃, and a low temperature reaction in a broad temperature interval down to about 200 ℃. Intensities of both reactions decreased with increasing cooling rate. Quenching from solution annealing with rates up to 1000 K/s was investigated by differential fast scanning calorimetry (DFSC) and the differential reheating method (DRM). A critical quenching rate to suppress all precipitation reactions of 100-300 K/s was been determined.展开更多
An optimization method was presented for cold stretch forming of titanium-alloy aircraft skin to determine process parameters and to reduce springback.In the optimization model,a mathematical formulation of stress dif...An optimization method was presented for cold stretch forming of titanium-alloy aircraft skin to determine process parameters and to reduce springback.In the optimization model,a mathematical formulation of stress difference was developed as an indicator of the degree of springback instead of implicit springback analysis.Explicit finite element method(FEM)was used to analyze the forming process and to provide the stress distribution for calculating the amount of the stress indicator.In addition,multi-island genetic algorithm(MGA)was employed to seek the optimal loading condition.A case study was performed to demonstrate the potential of the suggested method.The results show that the optimization design of process parameters effectively reduces the amount of springback and improves the part shape accuracy.It provides a guideline for controlling springback in stretch forming of aircraft skin.展开更多
