While colonization of the gastric mucosa with H pylori results in active and chronic gastritis in virtually all individuals infected, the likelihood of developing gastric cancer depends on environmental, bacterial virulence and host specific factors. The majority of all gastric cancer cases are attributable to H pylori infection and therefore theoretically preventable. There is evidence from animal models that eradication of H pylori at an early time point can prevent gastric cancer development. However, randomized clinical trials exploring the prophylactic effect of Hpylori eradication on the incidence of gastric cancer in humans remain sparse and have yielded conflicting results. Better markers for the identification of patients at risk for H pylori induced gastric malignancy are needed to allow the development of a more efficient public eradication strategy. Meanwhile, screening and treatment of H pylori in first-degree relatives of gastric cancer patients as well as certain high-risk populations might be beneficial.展开更多

The bio-control trials of C. spirale ND35 against the Valsa Canker of apple were preliminarily investigated. The results of dual culture on PDA plate showed that C. spirale ND35 was capable of strong antagonism against Valsa ceratosperma, and for inhibiting the mycelial growth of V. ceratosperma,.the crude extract of liquid culture of corn steep powder broth was more effective than that one of malt extract broth (MEB). The results of bio-control in greenhouse and field indicated that the disease incidence of apple tree treated with C. spirale ND35 was lower significantly than that treated by other methods. The re-isolation experiment suggested that C. spirale ND35 could colonize in stems and branches of apple trees successfully, and the ND35 colonization rate of the treatment with solid wheat bran culture was higher than that of corn steep powder broth, but the field experiment result the control effect of liquid culture of C. spirale ND35 was better than that of solid culture.展开更多

Unlike HBD-1, the HBD-2 expression is augmented by Helicobacter pylori (H pylon). We sought to determine HBD-1 and HBD-2 concentrations in gastric juice during Hpylori infection. METHODS: HBD-1 and HBD-2 concentrations were measured by radioimmunoassay in plasma and gastric juice of 49 Hpylori-infected and 33 uninfected subjects and before and after anti-H pyloritreatment in,13 patients with Hpylori-associated gastritis. Interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-8 concentrations in gastric juice were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Histological grades of gastritis were determined using two biopsy specimens taken from the antrum and corpus. Reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) was used to identify HBD-2. RESULTS: HBD-2 concentrations in gastric juice, but not in plasma, were significantly higher in Hpylori-positive than -negative subjects, albeit the post-treatment levels were unchanged. Immunoreactivity for HBD-2 was exclusively identified in Hpylori-infected mucosa by RPHPLC. HBD-2 concentrations in gastric juice correlated with histological degree of neutrophil and mononuclear cell infiltration in the corpus. IL-1β levels correlated with those of IL-8, but not HBD-2. Plasma and gastric juice HBD-1 concentrations were similar in H pylori-infected and uninfected subjects. CONCLUSION: Our results place the β-defensins, especiallyHBD-2, in the front line of innate immune defence. Moreover, HBD-2 may be involved in the pathogenesis of Hpylori-associated gastritis, possibly through its function as immune and inflammatory mediator.展开更多

The basic principle and advantages of bolting and grouting lining have been also listed. Bolting and grouting lining can increase the integrity and load-carrying capacity of supporting framework and it can assure the stability of supporting framework. It possesses not only the flexible and yielding capacity of bolting and shotcrete lining, but also the effect of rigid support such as metal support and brickwork, forming many kinds of support system, maintaining the stability of roadway together.展开更多
