The heterogeneous multilayer interface of VN/Ag coatings and transition multilayer interface of VN/Ag coatings were prepared on Inconel 781 and Si(100),and the microstructures,mechanical and tribological properties were investigated from 25 to 700℃.The results showed that the surface roughness and average grain size of VN/Ag coatings with transition multilayer interface are obviously larger than those of VN/Ag coatings with heterogeneous multilayer interface.The coatings with transition multilayer interface have higher adhesion force and hardness than the coatings with heterogeneous multilayer interface,and both coatings can effectively restrict the initiation and propagation of microcracks.Both coatings have excellent self-adaptive lubricating properties with a decrease of friction coefficient as the temperature increases,but their wear rates reveal a drastic increase.The phase composition of the worn area of both coatings was investigated,which indicates that a smooth Ag,Magnéli phase(V2O5)and bimetallic oxides(Ag3VO4 and AgVO3)can be responsible to the excellent lubricity of both coatings.To sum up,the coatings with transition multilayer interface have excellent adaptive lubricating properties and can properly control the diffusion rate and release rate of the lubricating phase,indicating that they have great potential in solving the problem of friction and wear of mechanical parts. 展开更多

A surface Ti-WC composite was fabricated on CP-Ti by surface friction stirring(SFS)using a pinless WC-Cotool at a processing window of 800−2500 r/min and 8−50 mm/min.At 1600 r/min-50 mm/min,a defect-free compositelayer with an average hardness of~HV 1170 is formed.The hardness was increased by WC and TiN reinforcingparticles,dissolved Co atoms in Ti,and the formation of ultrafine grains.WC particles were incorporated into the Tisubstrate owing to the intense frictional interaction/heating at the tool-plate interface(~1000℃),which led to strengthloss and wear of the tool.The Williamson-Hall analysis of the XRD peaks of the SFSed sample confirmed a significantlysmall crystallite size(~100 nm).Wear tests showed that the wear resistance of the composite structure was about 4.5times higher than that of the CP-Ti.Friction analysis revealed a significant reduction in average value and fluctuations ofthe friction coefficient. 展开更多

To analyze the influence of surface texture on friction properties of Crl2MoV', ordinary grinder and spinning technology were adopted to obtain the grooved surface morphology of samples, and then the impact of spindle speed and feed in z-direction on surface morphology in the process of spinning was studied. In addition, the corresponding friction coefficient of sample was obtained through friction and wear tests. The results show that the peak clipping and the valley filling were conducted on the grinding surface, which could improve the surface roughness effectively and make the grinding trench-type wear scar more uniform. Both the area ratio of groove and groove spacing increased initially and then decreased with the increase of the spindle speed or the feed in z-direction. As a kind of micro-process, the groove could influence the friction coefficient of sample surface, whose distribution was beneficial to the reduction of friction coefficient. Compared with the surface obtained through ordinary grinding, grooved surface morphology through spinning technology was more conductive to reduce the friction coefficient, which could be reduced by 25%. When the friction coefficient of sample was reduced to the minimum, the texture of groove corresponded had an optimal area ratio and an optimal groove spacing, 37.5% and 27.5 μm, respectively. 展开更多

An experimental study was undertaken to express the hardening Swift law according to friction stir welding (FSW) aluminum alloy 2017. Tensile tests of welded joints were run in accordance with face centered composite design. Two types of identified models based on least square method and response surface method were used to assess the contribution of FSW independent factors on the hardening parameters. These models were introduced into finite-element code "Abaqus" to simulate tensile tests of welded joints. The relative average deviation criterion, between the experimental data and the numerical simulations of tension-elongation of tensile tests, shows good agreement between the experimental results and the predicted hardening models. These results can be used to perform multi-criteria optimization for carrying out specific welds or conducting numerical simulation of plastic deformation of forming process of FSW parts such as hydroforming, bending and forging. 展开更多

In this paper, we tried to present a qualitative correlation, based on extensive experimental trials between the value and the evolution of the friction coefficient, wear and contact temperature in the case of linear dry contact, thermoplastic material reinforced with SGF (short glass fibres) and various steel surfaces. We tried, believing successfully, the graphic illustration of the evolution of the steel surface wear and of the contact temperature, depending on the friction coefficient. Friction tests were con- ducted under dry sliding condition. Temperature rise, friction coefficient and wear of both the textured and untextured speci- mens were studied. An embedded K-type thermocouple beneath the friction surfaces was employed to measure frictional tem- perature rise. The results indicated that the temperature rise of the textured specimen was obviously reduced compared with that of the untextured specimen, although the difference between the friction coefficients was not significan.. The specimen with high texture density exhibited a small temperature rise. The difference in temperature rise between the specimens with different texture densities can be primarily attributed to differences in heat dissipation and energy allocation between the tri- bo-pairs caused by the textured structure. The energy consumed by wear and plastic deformation was small in ~:omparison with the total energy input by friction, thus, the influence of these factors on temperature rise can be considered to be~ negligible. 展开更多
