BACKGROUND Painless gastroscopy is a widely used diagnostic and therapeutic technology in clinical practice.Propofol combined with opioids is a common drug for painless endoscopic sedation and anaesthesia.In clinical ...BACKGROUND Painless gastroscopy is a widely used diagnostic and therapeutic technology in clinical practice.Propofol combined with opioids is a common drug for painless endoscopic sedation and anaesthesia.In clinical work,adverse drug reactions of anaesthesia schemes are often one of the important areas of concern for doctors and patients.With the increase in propofol dosage,the risk of serious adverse drug reactions,such as respiratory depression and hypotension,increases significantly;the use of opioids often causes gastrointestinal reactions in patients after examination,such as nausea,vomiting,delayed recovery of gastrointestinal function and other complications,which seriously affect their quality of life.AIM To observe the effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture therapy on the anaesthesia regimen and anaesthesia-related complications during and after painless gastroscopy examination.METHODS Two hundred patients were selected and randomly divided into a treatment group(n=100)and a control group(n=100).Both groups were routinely anaesthetized with the nalbuphine and propofol regimen,gastroscopy began after the patient lost consciousness,and given supportive treatment and vital sign monitoring.If the patient interrupted the surgery due to intraoperative torsion,intravenous propofol was used to relieve his or her discomfort.The treatment group received wrist-ankle acupuncture on this basis.RESULTS The general data before treatment,American Society of Anesthesiologist(ASA)grade and operation time between the two groups was no significant difference.The Wakeup time,and the Selfambulation time in the treatment group was significantly faster than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total dose of propofol in the treatment group was 109±8.17 mg,significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of respiratory depression and hypotension was not significantly different,but the incidence of hiccups was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After the examination,the incidence of nausea,vomiting,abdominal distension,and abdominal pain was 11%,8%,6%,and 5%,respectively,which was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).In addition,both the operators and the patients were more satisfied with this examination,with no significant difference between the groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION Wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment can optimize the painless gastroscopy and anaesthesia scheme,reduces propofol total dose;shortens patient Wakeup time and Self-ambulation time,improves patient compliance and tolerance,is beneficial to clinical application.展开更多

CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to analyze the annual number of articles, countries, institutions, authors, journals, references and keywords. Statistical Analysis Toolkit for Informetrics 3.2 (SATI) and IBM SPSS Modeler 18.0 were employed to draw the maps of core acupoints and acupuncture approaches. Results: A total of 316 articles were included. From 2000 to 2021 the number of publications has been ever increased with certain fluctuations. The United States was the most productive country. Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine was the most active institution. Stener-Victorin E was the highest cited author. Fertility and Sterility was the most prolific journal. Paulus We, 2002 was the highest co-citation literature. SP6 (Sanyinjiao) was the most commonly used acupoint. Manual acupuncture was the most commonly used method. Conclusions: The study of acupuncture in the treatment of infertility is characterized by multinational, multi-institutional participation and close regional cooperation. Acupuncture is a potentially effective therapy for infertility. Due to a lack of research quality and difficulties in performing double-blind, high-quality clinical evidence is urgently required. A complete acupuncture therapy system for infertility should be gradually constructed.展开更多
Objective:To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of the spirit turtle eight method acupuncture therapy in the treatment of insomnia,to better serve the clinic and provide reference ideas for the treatment ...Objective:To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of the spirit turtle eight method acupuncture therapy in the treatment of insomnia,to better serve the clinic and provide reference ideas for the treatment of insomnia.Methods:Search CNKI,CBM,Wanfang,Weipu,China Clinical Trial Registry databases on the use of the spirit turtle eight method compared with others interventions to treat insomnia.The search period is from the library until August 1,2021,two researchers will conduct independent quality evaluation and effect size extraction on the literature,and use STATA16.0 and Review5.3 to conduct Meta analysis and quality evaluation on the literature.Through screening,a total of 18 eligible documents participated in the meta-analysis,with a total of 1583 cases.Results:①The effective rate of the spirit turtle eight method in the treatment of insomnia is higher than the control group[RR=1.213,95%CI(1.155,1.274),Z=7.71,P<0.01];②The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score is lower than other acupuncture treatments[WMD=-2.33,95%CI(-2.75,-1.91),Z=10.97,P<0.01];③The one-month follow-up PSQI score after the treatment of insomnia by the spirit turtle eight method is lower than the control group[WMD=-3.263,95%CI(-3.446,-3.080),Z=34.96,P<0.01];④No studies have reported serious adverse reactions in the treatment group and control group.Conclusion:Based on the current research,the spirit turtle eight method are better than the control group in the treatment of insomnia,and are suitable for clinical application.However,more high-quality clinical studies are still needed to prove its efficacy.展开更多

It is mainly treated with orally taken drugs in western internal department but without satisfactory result, and with local closing therapy in surgical department. The problem may reoccur half a year later in most patients complicated with facial paralysis, so western medicine is not likely to be accepted by the patients. Objective:To compare the clinical effectiveness of gamma knife radiosugery combined with acupuncture therapy and microvascular decompression in the treatment of idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia.Methods:A total of 93 pa...Objective:To compare the clinical effectiveness of gamma knife radiosugery combined with acupuncture therapy and microvascular decompression in the treatment of idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia.Methods:A total of 93 patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia added to Nanchang University Hospital from November 2016 to October 2018 were selected,it was divided randomly into the control group(45 cases)and the study group(48 cases).The control group was treated with microvascular decompression and the study group used gamma knife radiosurgery combined with acupuncture therapy.The study compared the immediate pain relief rate,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores,completion rate,recurrence rate,hospitalization days,total treatment duration,total treatment cost and total effective rate of treatment in 2 groups.Results:Comparison of the same group after treatment:the VAS score with 24 hours of treatment in the control group was(5.33±0.49),with a significant difference from the pre-treatment VAS score(8.62±0.13);The VAS score with 24 hours of treatment in the study group was(5.96±0.58),with a significant difference from the pre-treatment VAS score(8.54±0.25).After treatment,immediate effect,parent effect,acute and chronic complements of the control group was 25,5,2 and 7 cases,and the study group was 6,25,7 and 1,respectively.There were significant differences between the two groups;The comparison of hospitalization days,total treatment duration,total treatment cost was statistically significant(P<0.05);There were no significant difference in immediate pain rate,VAS score,total incidence of complications,recurrence rate,and total effectiveness of treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Both microvascular decompression and gamma knife radiosurgery combined with acupuncture therapy can safe and effective treatment idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia patients,and for patients with good health,can tolerance all-hemp surgery,there are contraindicaindications to acupuncture therapy,microvascular decompression treatment can be chosen,while patients who are weak,cannot tolerante all-hemp surgery or resist surgery,economic difficulties,and can choose gamma knife radiosurgery combined with acupuncture therapy treatment.展开更多

Electrochemical therapy, ECT, has been used to treat 122 cases of various kinds of tu-mour, among them, 81 cases were malignant tumours (32 cases facial, 18 cases subaural, 16 cases labial, 15 cases tongue), and the o...Electrochemical therapy, ECT, has been used to treat 122 cases of various kinds of tu-mour, among them, 81 cases were malignant tumours (32 cases facial, 18 cases subaural, 16 cases labial, 15 cases tongue), and the other 41 cases were bening tumours (cavermous hemangioma at facial region 23 cases and in oral cavity 18 cases). Pathological examination of malignant tumours revealed that there were 63 cases of squamous epithelial cancers and 18 cases of adenocarcinoma. Cavermous he-mangioma is benign tumour and congenital. Special designed and made platinum needles were inserted into the tumours and the needles were connected to an instrument protucing a direct current for treat-ment. Voltage used was usually 8 volts with current 60 - 80 mA. The quantity elecricity applied was 100 coulombs per 1 cm in diameter of the tumour. The effectiveness of treating 81 cases malignant tu-mours was: CR 42 cases (51. 8% ), PR 31 cases (38. 3% ), NC 5 cases (6. 2% ) and PD 3 cases (3.7 % ). CR + PR was 73 cases (90. 1 % ). The effectiveness of treating 41 cases of benign hemangioma was: CR 38 cases (92. 7 % ) and PR 3 cases (7. 3 % ). One, three and five year survival rates of malig-nant tumour patients were 95 %, 65. 4 % and 37 %, respectively. While all the 41 patients with he-mangioma survived over five years after treatment.展开更多
BACKGROUND:Acupuncture can improve motor function in patients with cerebral infarction, and activate brain glucose metabolism in relevant brain areas.However, the association between encephalic region activation and a...BACKGROUND:Acupuncture can improve motor function in patients with cerebral infarction, and activate brain glucose metabolism in relevant brain areas.However, the association between encephalic region activation and acupuncture, as well as the clinical significance of activation remain unclear.OBJECTIVE:Through the use of positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT), acute cerebral infarction patients were analyzed for global cerebral metabolism, cerebral infarction focus, peripheral edema, and pyramidal tract pathway changes, which were directly related to clinical symptoms.The influence of resuscitating acupuncture on cerebral glucose metabolism was analyzed in patients with acute cerebral infarction in basal ganglia.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING:Randomized, controlled, clinical trials were performed from March 2007 to October 2008 at the PET-CT Center of the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, China.PARTICIPANTS:Twelve patients with acute basal ganglia infarction were recruited from the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Affiliated Hospital of Medical College of Chinese People's Armed Police Force.METHODS:The cerebral infarcted patients were randomly assigned to acupuncture and control groups.In addition to routine treatment, the acupuncture group was treated by acupuncture at the main acupoints for resuscitation [Neiguan (PC 6), Renzhong (DU 26), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6)], while the control group received routine treatment.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Before and after treatment, patients with acute cerebral infarction were evaluated for global brain, cerebral infarction focus, and surrounding edema and glucose metabolism in encephalic region of pyramidal tract conduction by 18-labeled fluorodeoxyglucose for PET-CT imaging.RESULTS:The resuscitating acupuncture therapy can significantly activate the metabolism of global brain, infarction center and surrounding edema in patients with cerebral infarction in basal ganglia, also has effects on the activation of glucose metabolism in the encephalic regions of pyramidal tract pathway (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Resuscitating acupuncture was superior to routine treatment for significantly activating glucose metabolism in patients with acute cerebral basal ganglia infarction.展开更多

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of "nourishing liver and kidney" acupuncture therapy on motor and cognitive deficits,and the underlying mechanism following cerebral ischemia-reperf...The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of "nourishing liver and kidney" acupuncture therapy on motor and cognitive deficits,and the underlying mechanism following cerebral ischemia-reperfusion(I/R) via increasing the expression of brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) and synaptophysin(SYN) in the hippocampus.Healthy adult male SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group(n=51),model group(n=51),acupuncture group(n=51) and acupuncture control group(n=51).The middle cerebral I/R model was established.Acupunctures were performed in the acupuncture group and acupuncture control group at acupoints of Taixi(K103),Taichong(ST09) of both sides,for 30 min once daily every morning.The animals in the sham operation group and model group were conventionally fed in the cage,without any intervention therapy.The rats of each group were assessed with modified neurological severity scores(m NSS).The expression of BDNF and SYN in the hippocampus was detected by immunohistochemical SP method and the synaptic structure in hippocampus area was assessed morphologically and quantitatively at the 3rd,7th and 14 th day.The Morris water Maze(MWM) test was used to evaluate the rats' learning and memory abilities on the 15 th day after acupuncture.The animals in the acupuncture control group and sham operation group presented no neurological deficit.In the acupuncture group,the nerve functional recovery was significantly better than that in the model group at the 7th and 14 th day after modeling.The average MWM escape latency in the acupuncture group was shorter than that in the model group at the 3rd,4th and 5th day.The number of crossings of the platform quadrant in the acupuncture group was significantly more than that in the model group.At the each time point,the expression levels of BDNF and SYN in the hippocampal regions increased significantly in the model group as compared with the sham operation group and the acupuncture control group.In the acupuncture group,the expression levels of BDNF at the 7th and 14 th day increased more significantly than those in the model group.In the acupuncture group,the expression levels of SYN at the each time point increased more significantly than those in the model group.The post-synaptic density(PSD) was significantly increased and the synapse cleft width was narrowed in the acupuncture group as compared with other groups.The synaptic curvatures were improved obviously in the acupuncture group in contrast to the model group.It was concluded that the "nourishing liver and kidney" acupuncture therapy has positive effects on behavioral recovery,as well as learning and memory abilities,probably by promoting the expression of BDNF and SYN,and synaptic structure reconstruction in the ipsilateral hippocampus after I/R in rats.The "nourishing liver and kidney" acupuncture therapy can promote the functional recovery in rats after cerebral ischemia injury.展开更多

The rats in these three groups recovered within 4 d. The acupuncture group received EA therapy for 4 d, after HAc injection. The stomach was dissected to compare the pathological structures of ulcer. Also c-Fos activation in the nuclei of solitary tract (NTS) was observed under microscope after regular immunohistochemistry staining of brain stem sections.RESULTS: The number of ulcers was different among the four groups, especially between control group and paradistance-acupuncture group or pre-acupuncture group. In the latter group, the number of ulcers was much less. The gastric ulcer area was consistent with the histopathological results, indicating that pre-acupuncture had an obvious therapeutic effect on gastric ulcers.Acupuncture had a very modest effect and paradistanceacupuncture had no effect on gastric ulcers. No therapeutic effect was found in the control group. Fos-Li neurons in NTS induced by noxious gastric ulcer showed a significant difference between pre-acupuncture and control groups.CONCLUSION: Acupuncture before ulceration can obviously alleviate ulcer. The production of c-Fos proves that the vagus nerve mediates the induction of c-Fos in nuclei of solitary tract following experimental ulceration,suggesting that parasympathetic afferents promote the process of noxious visceral stimulation.展开更多

The first three aspacts are the foundation, accurate location and flexible needling manipulations are also the prerequisite for effective treatment of diseases. 文摘BACKGROUND Painless gastroscopy is a widely used diagnostic and therapeutic technology in clinical practice.Propofol combined with opioids is a common drug for painless endoscopic sedation and anaesthesia.In clinical work,adverse drug reactions of anaesthesia schemes are often one of the important areas of concern for doctors and patients.With the increase in propofol dosage,the risk of serious adverse drug reactions,such as respiratory depression and hypotension,increases significantly;the use of opioids often causes gastrointestinal reactions in patients after examination,such as nausea,vomiting,delayed recovery of gastrointestinal function and other complications,which seriously affect their quality of life.AIM To observe the effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture therapy on the anaesthesia regimen and anaesthesia-related complications during and after painless gastroscopy examination.METHODS Two hundred patients were selected and randomly divided into a treatment group(n=100)and a control group(n=100).Both groups were routinely anaesthetized with the nalbuphine and propofol regimen,gastroscopy began after the patient lost consciousness,and given supportive treatment and vital sign monitoring.If the patient interrupted the surgery due to intraoperative torsion,intravenous propofol was used to relieve his or her discomfort.The treatment group received wrist-ankle acupuncture on this basis.RESULTS The general data before treatment,American Society of Anesthesiologist(ASA)grade and operation time between the two groups was no significant difference.The Wakeup time,and the Selfambulation time in the treatment group was significantly faster than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total dose of propofol in the treatment group was 109±8.17 mg,significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of respiratory depression and hypotension was not significantly different,but the incidence of hiccups was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After the examination,the incidence of nausea,vomiting,abdominal distension,and abdominal pain was 11%,8%,6%,and 5%,respectively,which was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).In addition,both the operators and the patients were more satisfied with this examination,with no significant difference between the groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION Wrist-ankle acupuncture treatment can optimize the painless gastroscopy and anaesthesia scheme,reduces propofol total dose;shortens patient Wakeup time and Self-ambulation time,improves patient compliance and tolerance,is beneficial to clinical application.
文摘Objective: To investigate the research progress and new trend of acupuncture in the treatment of infertility from 2000 to 2021. Methods: The literature review was conducted on acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of infertility from 2000 to 2021 from the Web of Science core collection and PubMed. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to analyze the annual number of articles, countries, institutions, authors, journals, references and keywords. Statistical Analysis Toolkit for Informetrics 3.2 (SATI) and IBM SPSS Modeler 18.0 were employed to draw the maps of core acupoints and acupuncture approaches. Results: A total of 316 articles were included. From 2000 to 2021 the number of publications has been ever increased with certain fluctuations. The United States was the most productive country. Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine was the most active institution. Stener-Victorin E was the highest cited author. Fertility and Sterility was the most prolific journal. Paulus We, 2002 was the highest co-citation literature. SP6 (Sanyinjiao) was the most commonly used acupoint. Manual acupuncture was the most commonly used method. Conclusions: The study of acupuncture in the treatment of infertility is characterized by multinational, multi-institutional participation and close regional cooperation. Acupuncture is a potentially effective therapy for infertility. Due to a lack of research quality and difficulties in performing double-blind, high-quality clinical evidence is urgently required. A complete acupuncture therapy system for infertility should be gradually constructed.

文摘Objective:To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of the spirit turtle eight method acupuncture therapy in the treatment of insomnia,to better serve the clinic and provide reference ideas for the treatment of insomnia.Methods:Search CNKI,CBM,Wanfang,Weipu,China Clinical Trial Registry databases on the use of the spirit turtle eight method compared with others interventions to treat insomnia.The search period is from the library until August 1,2021,two researchers will conduct independent quality evaluation and effect size extraction on the literature,and use STATA16.0 and Review5.3 to conduct Meta analysis and quality evaluation on the literature.Through screening,a total of 18 eligible documents participated in the meta-analysis,with a total of 1583 cases.Results:①The effective rate of the spirit turtle eight method in the treatment of insomnia is higher than the control group[RR=1.213,95%CI(1.155,1.274),Z=7.71,P<0.01];②The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score is lower than other acupuncture treatments[WMD=-2.33,95%CI(-2.75,-1.91),Z=10.97,P<0.01];③The one-month follow-up PSQI score after the treatment of insomnia by the spirit turtle eight method is lower than the control group[WMD=-3.263,95%CI(-3.446,-3.080),Z=34.96,P<0.01];④No studies have reported serious adverse reactions in the treatment group and control group.Conclusion:Based on the current research,the spirit turtle eight method are better than the control group in the treatment of insomnia,and are suitable for clinical application.However,more high-quality clinical studies are still needed to prove its efficacy.
文摘Trigeminal Neuralgia is often found in female between 40-60 years old, marked by sudden severe pain on the face (a feeling of knife cutting, electric shock), and it is characterized by sudden, paroxysmal and periodical attack and triggered by touch). The attack usually lasts for 1 to 2 minutes with different intervals. The patient’s life quality can be seriously affected. It is mainly treated with orally taken drugs in western internal department but without satisfactory result, and with local closing therapy in surgical department. The problem may reoccur half a year later in most patients complicated with facial paralysis, so western medicine is not likely to be accepted by the patients. The author has tried to apply abdominal acupuncture in the treatment of 25 cases of trigeminal neuralgia with good effect. The result is as follows.

文摘Objective:To explore the effective prevention and treatment of portal hypertension(PH).Methods:A total of 220 patients who came to our hospital from March 2015 to October 2018 were treated.They were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,each with 110 cases.Before treatment,there was no significant differences in age,sex,clinical symptoms,signs,laboratory tests and color Doppler ultrasound related examinations between the 2 groups(P>0.05).Among them,the treatment group on the basis of traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment in our hospital,the Qi-acupuncture therapy of TCM was added.The extra meridian acupoints along with acupoints were selected.The control group received conventional treatment with traditional Chinese and Western medicine in our hospital.Results:There were significant differences in clinical symptoms,signs and chemistry between groups after treatment(P<0.01).There were significant differences in test,color ultrasound related examination and so on(P<0.01).Those in the treatment group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:On the basis of the Qi-acupuncture therapy of TCM,selecting extra meridian acupoint and acupoints can effectively treat PH.
文摘 Endometriosis (EMT) is one of the difficult and complicated cases in gynecology, and its incidence shows a tendency to go up year by year. It is mainly manifested in clinic as dysmenorrhea, acyesis, irregular menstruation and pelvic lumps. Dysmenorrhea is the most characteristic symptom of endometriosis and its relief has important significance in the treatment of the disease. Certain hormonal drugs, such as danazol and gestrinone, exhibit convincing therapeutic effects but with obvious adverse actions. Operative therapy has also some limitations. Since 1997, the disorder has been treated by our special department for endometriosis with ear acupuncture therapy. Meanwhile, a group of patients were treated as controls with the decoction of traditional Chinese drugs for activating blood circulation and removing stasis. The results are reported as follows.……

文摘Objective:To compare the clinical effectiveness of gamma knife radiosugery combined with acupuncture therapy and microvascular decompression in the treatment of idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia.Methods:A total of 93 patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia added to Nanchang University Hospital from November 2016 to October 2018 were selected,it was divided randomly into the control group(45 cases)and the study group(48 cases).The control group was treated with microvascular decompression and the study group used gamma knife radiosurgery combined with acupuncture therapy.The study compared the immediate pain relief rate,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores,completion rate,recurrence rate,hospitalization days,total treatment duration,total treatment cost and total effective rate of treatment in 2 groups.Results:Comparison of the same group after treatment:the VAS score with 24 hours of treatment in the control group was(5.33±0.49),with a significant difference from the pre-treatment VAS score(8.62±0.13);The VAS score with 24 hours of treatment in the study group was(5.96±0.58),with a significant difference from the pre-treatment VAS score(8.54±0.25).After treatment,immediate effect,parent effect,acute and chronic complements of the control group was 25,5,2 and 7 cases,and the study group was 6,25,7 and 1,respectively.There were significant differences between the two groups;The comparison of hospitalization days,total treatment duration,total treatment cost was statistically significant(P<0.05);There were no significant difference in immediate pain rate,VAS score,total incidence of complications,recurrence rate,and total effectiveness of treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Both microvascular decompression and gamma knife radiosurgery combined with acupuncture therapy can safe and effective treatment idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia patients,and for patients with good health,can tolerance all-hemp surgery,there are contraindicaindications to acupuncture therapy,microvascular decompression treatment can be chosen,while patients who are weak,cannot tolerante all-hemp surgery or resist surgery,economic difficulties,and can choose gamma knife radiosurgery combined with acupuncture therapy treatment.

文摘Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by ankylosis of the spine and sacroiliac joints.The continuous development of this disease can cause damage to multiple organs.At present,modern medical treatment programs generally focus on symptomatic treatment such as analgesia and anti-inflammatory,which can relieve pain and inflammation to a certain extent,but there are many problems such as adverse drug reactions,and cannot be completely cured.Modern medical treatment of ankylosing spondylitis focuses on relieving symptoms,controlling disease activity,slowing disease progression,and reducing disability rates.As an important part of traditional Chinese medicine,acupuncture therapy,compared with modern medicine,has obvious advantages in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis,such as good curative effect,quick effect,safety and low price,and no toxic and side effects.By reviewing the literature,it is found that there are a large number of clinical studies on the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis by acupuncture and moxibustion in recent years,and it is concluded that acupuncture and moxibustion has unique advantages in reducing local pain,alleviating inflammatory symptoms,improving joint function,preventing spinal deformity,and improving quality of life.Therefore,this study summarizes and reviews the relevant literature on different acupuncture and moxibustion therapy for ankylosing spondylitis,in order to provide ideas and solutions for the effective treatment of this disease.

文摘In the present study, 32 cases of infantile cerebral palsy were treated with acupunc-ture and point-injection therapies. Among them, 15 cases were cured basicaly, 7 markedly efec-tive, 9 improved and 2 failed, with a total effective rate being 93. 8%. The results showed thatthe therapies both could improve the microcirculation of the brain tissues in favour of recovery ofcerebral functions.

文摘Electrochemical therapy, ECT, has been used to treat 122 cases of various kinds of tu-mour, among them, 81 cases were malignant tumours (32 cases facial, 18 cases subaural, 16 cases labial, 15 cases tongue), and the other 41 cases were bening tumours (cavermous hemangioma at facial region 23 cases and in oral cavity 18 cases). Pathological examination of malignant tumours revealed that there were 63 cases of squamous epithelial cancers and 18 cases of adenocarcinoma. Cavermous he-mangioma is benign tumour and congenital. Special designed and made platinum needles were inserted into the tumours and the needles were connected to an instrument protucing a direct current for treat-ment. Voltage used was usually 8 volts with current 60 - 80 mA. The quantity elecricity applied was 100 coulombs per 1 cm in diameter of the tumour. The effectiveness of treating 81 cases malignant tu-mours was: CR 42 cases (51. 8% ), PR 31 cases (38. 3% ), NC 5 cases (6. 2% ) and PD 3 cases (3.7 % ). CR + PR was 73 cases (90. 1 % ). The effectiveness of treating 41 cases of benign hemangioma was: CR 38 cases (92. 7 % ) and PR 3 cases (7. 3 % ). One, three and five year survival rates of malig-nant tumour patients were 95 %, 65. 4 % and 37 %, respectively. While all the 41 patients with he-mangioma survived over five years after treatment.

文摘BACKGROUND:Acupuncture can improve motor function in patients with cerebral infarction, and activate brain glucose metabolism in relevant brain areas.However, the association between encephalic region activation and acupuncture, as well as the clinical significance of activation remain unclear.OBJECTIVE:Through the use of positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT), acute cerebral infarction patients were analyzed for global cerebral metabolism, cerebral infarction focus, peripheral edema, and pyramidal tract pathway changes, which were directly related to clinical symptoms.The influence of resuscitating acupuncture on cerebral glucose metabolism was analyzed in patients with acute cerebral infarction in basal ganglia.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING:Randomized, controlled, clinical trials were performed from March 2007 to October 2008 at the PET-CT Center of the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, China.PARTICIPANTS:Twelve patients with acute basal ganglia infarction were recruited from the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Affiliated Hospital of Medical College of Chinese People's Armed Police Force.METHODS:The cerebral infarcted patients were randomly assigned to acupuncture and control groups.In addition to routine treatment, the acupuncture group was treated by acupuncture at the main acupoints for resuscitation [Neiguan (PC 6), Renzhong (DU 26), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6)], while the control group received routine treatment.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Before and after treatment, patients with acute cerebral infarction were evaluated for global brain, cerebral infarction focus, and surrounding edema and glucose metabolism in encephalic region of pyramidal tract conduction by 18-labeled fluorodeoxyglucose for PET-CT imaging.RESULTS:The resuscitating acupuncture therapy can significantly activate the metabolism of global brain, infarction center and surrounding edema in patients with cerebral infarction in basal ganglia, also has effects on the activation of glucose metabolism in the encephalic regions of pyramidal tract pathway (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Resuscitating acupuncture was superior to routine treatment for significantly activating glucose metabolism in patients with acute cerebral basal ganglia infarction.

文摘The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of "nourishing liver and kidney" acupuncture therapy on motor and cognitive deficits,and the underlying mechanism following cerebral ischemia-reperfusion(I/R) via increasing the expression of brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) and synaptophysin(SYN) in the hippocampus.Healthy adult male SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group(n=51),model group(n=51),acupuncture group(n=51) and acupuncture control group(n=51).The middle cerebral I/R model was established.Acupunctures were performed in the acupuncture group and acupuncture control group at acupoints of Taixi(K103),Taichong(ST09) of both sides,for 30 min once daily every morning.The animals in the sham operation group and model group were conventionally fed in the cage,without any intervention therapy.The rats of each group were assessed with modified neurological severity scores(m NSS).The expression of BDNF and SYN in the hippocampus was detected by immunohistochemical SP method and the synaptic structure in hippocampus area was assessed morphologically and quantitatively at the 3rd,7th and 14 th day.The Morris water Maze(MWM) test was used to evaluate the rats' learning and memory abilities on the 15 th day after acupuncture.The animals in the acupuncture control group and sham operation group presented no neurological deficit.In the acupuncture group,the nerve functional recovery was significantly better than that in the model group at the 7th and 14 th day after modeling.The average MWM escape latency in the acupuncture group was shorter than that in the model group at the 3rd,4th and 5th day.The number of crossings of the platform quadrant in the acupuncture group was significantly more than that in the model group.At the each time point,the expression levels of BDNF and SYN in the hippocampal regions increased significantly in the model group as compared with the sham operation group and the acupuncture control group.In the acupuncture group,the expression levels of BDNF at the 7th and 14 th day increased more significantly than those in the model group.In the acupuncture group,the expression levels of SYN at the each time point increased more significantly than those in the model group.The post-synaptic density(PSD) was significantly increased and the synapse cleft width was narrowed in the acupuncture group as compared with other groups.The synaptic curvatures were improved obviously in the acupuncture group in contrast to the model group.It was concluded that the "nourishing liver and kidney" acupuncture therapy has positive effects on behavioral recovery,as well as learning and memory abilities,probably by promoting the expression of BDNF and SYN,and synaptic structure reconstruction in the ipsilateral hippocampus after I/R in rats.The "nourishing liver and kidney" acupuncture therapy can promote the functional recovery in rats after cerebral ischemia injury.

文摘AIM: To determine the role of acupuncture therapy in treating experimental gastric ulcer in rats.METHODS: Twenty-eight adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups (pre-acupuncture group; acupuncture group; paradistance-acupuncture group;and control group), and pre-acupuncture, paradistanceacupuncture, and control groups received 5 μL acetic acid (200 mL/L HAc) injection after a same course of electroacupuncture (EA) treatment (4 Hz, 0.6 mA, 0.45 ms,45 min for 4 d). The rats in these three groups recovered within 4 d. The acupuncture group received EA therapy for 4 d, after HAc injection. The stomach was dissected to compare the pathological structures of ulcer. Also c-Fos activation in the nuclei of solitary tract (NTS) was observed under microscope after regular immunohistochemistry staining of brain stem sections.RESULTS: The number of ulcers was different among the four groups, especially between control group and paradistance-acupuncture group or pre-acupuncture group. In the latter group, the number of ulcers was much less. The gastric ulcer area was consistent with the histopathological results, indicating that pre-acupuncture had an obvious therapeutic effect on gastric ulcers.Acupuncture had a very modest effect and paradistanceacupuncture had no effect on gastric ulcers. No therapeutic effect was found in the control group. Fos-Li neurons in NTS induced by noxious gastric ulcer showed a significant difference between pre-acupuncture and control groups.CONCLUSION: Acupuncture before ulceration can obviously alleviate ulcer. The production of c-Fos proves that the vagus nerve mediates the induction of c-Fos in nuclei of solitary tract following experimental ulceration,suggesting that parasympathetic afferents promote the process of noxious visceral stimulation.
