This paper deeply introduces a brand-new research method for the synchronous characteristics of DC microgrid bus voltage and an improved synchronous control strategy. This method mainly targets the problem of bus voltage oscillation caused by the bifurcation behavior of DC microgrid converters.Firstly, the article elaborately establishes a mathematical model of a single distributed power source with hierarchical control. On this basis,a smallworld network model that can better adapt to the topology structure of DC microgrids is further constructed. Then,a voltage synchronization analysis method based on the main stability function is proposed, and the synchronous characteristics of DC bus voltage are deeply studied by analyzing the size of the minimum non-zero eigenvalue. In view of the situation that the line coupling strength between distributed power sources is insufficient to achieve bus voltage synchronization, this paper innovatively proposes a new improved adaptive controller to effectively control voltage synchronization. And the convergence of the designed controller is strictly proved by using Lyapunov’s stability theorem. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the designed controller in this paper are fully verified through detailed simulation experiments. After comparative analysis with the traditional adaptive controller,it is found that the newly designed controller can make the bus voltages of each distributed power source achieve synchronization more quickly, and is significantly superior to the traditional adaptive controller in terms of anti-interference performance. 展开更多

This paper proposes an attitude control strategy for a flexible satellite equipped with an orthogonal cluster of three-dimensional(3D)magnetically suspended wheels(MSWs).The mathematical model for the satellite incorporating flexible appendages and an orthogonal cluster of magnetically suspended reaction wheel actuators is initially developed. After that,an adaptive attitude controller is designed with a switching surface of variable structure,an adaptive law for estimating inertia matrix uncertainty, and a fuzzy disturbance observer for estimating disturbance torques.Additionally,a Moore-Penrose-based steering law is proposed to derive the tilt angle commands of the orthogonal configuration of the 3D MSW to follow the designed control signal. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. 展开更多

This paper addresses the lane-keeping control problem for autonomous ground vehicles subject to input saturation and uncertain system parameters. An enhanced adaptive terminal sliding mode based prescribed performance control scheme is proposed, which enables the lateral position error of the vehicle to be kept within the prescribed performance boundaries all the time. This is achieved by firstly introducing an improved performance function into the controller design such that the stringent initial condition requirements can be relaxed, which further allows the global prescribed performance control result, and then, developing a multivariable adaptive terminal sliding mode based controller such that both input saturation and parameter uncertainties are handled effectively, which further ensures the robust lane-keeping control. Finally, the proposed control strategy is validated through numerical simulations, demonstrating its effectiveness. 展开更多

The distributed time-delay under consideration is assumed to be a constant time-delay, but not known exactly. A design method is proposed for a memory proportional and integral (PI) feedback controller with adaptation to distributed time-delay. The feedback controller with memory simultaneously contains the current state and the past distributed information of the addressed systems. The design for adaptation law to distributed delay is very concise. The controller can be derived by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Platooning represents one of the key features that connected automated vehicles may possess as it allows multiple automated vehicles to be maneuvered cooperatively with small headways on roads. However, a critical challenge in accomplishing automated vehicle platoons is to deal with the effects of intermittent and sporadic vehicle-to-vehicle data transmissions caused by limited wireless communication resources. This paper addresses the co-design problem of dynamic event-triggered communication scheduling and cooperative adaptive cruise control for a convoy of automated vehicles with diverse spacing policies. The central aim is to achieve automated vehicle platooning under various gap references with desired platoon stability and spacing performance requirements, while simultaneously improving communication efficiency. Toward this aim, a dynamic event-triggered scheduling mechanism is developed such that the intervehicle data transmissions are scheduled dynamically and efficiently over time. Then, a tractable co-design criterion on the existence of both the admissible event-driven cooperative adaptive cruise control law and the desired scheduling mechanism is derived. Finally, comparative simulation results are presented to substantiate the effectiveness and merits of the obtained results. 展开更多

A tracking stability control problem for the vertical electric stabilization system of moving tank based on adaptive robust servo control is addressed. This paper mainly focuses on two types of possibly fast timevarying but bounded uncertainty within the vertical electric stabilization system:model parameter uncertainty and uncertain nonlinearity.First, the vertical electric stabilization system is constructed as an uncertain nonlinear dynamic system that can reflect the practical mechanics transfer process of the system.Second, the dynamical equation in the form of state space is established by designing the angular tracking error.Third, the comprehensive parameter of system uncertainty is designed to estimate the most conservative effects of uncertainty. Finally,an adaptive robust servo control which can effectively handle the combined effects of complex nonlinearity and uncertainty is proposed. The feasibility of the proposed control strategy under the practical physical condition is validated through the tests on the experimental platform. This paper pioneers the introduction of the internal nonlinearity and uncertainty of the vertical electric stabilization system into the settlement of the tracking stability control problem, and validates the advanced servo control strategy through experiment for the first time. 展开更多

Since backlash nonlinearity is inevitably existing in actuators for bidirectional stabilization system of allelectric tank,it behaves more drastically in high maneuvering environments. In this work, the accurate tracking control for bidirectional stabilization system of moving all-electric tank with actuator backlash and unmodeled disturbance is solved.By utilizing the smooth adaptive backlash inverse model,a nonlinear robust adaptive feedback control scheme is presented. The unknown parameters and unmodelled disturbance are addressed separately through the derived parametric adaptive function and the continuous nonlinear robust term.Because the unknown backlash parameters are updated via adaptive function and the backlash effect can be suppressed successfully by inverse operation, which ensures the system stability.Meanwhile, the system disturbance in the high maneuverable environment can be estimated with the constructed adaptive law online improving the engineering practicality.Finally,Lyapunov-based analysis proves that the developed controller can ensure the tracking error asymptotically converges to zero even with unmodeled disturbance and unknown actuator backlash.Contrast co-simulations and experiments illustrate the advantages of the proposed approach. 展开更多

An observer-based adaptive backstepping boundary control is proposed for vibration control of flexible offshore riser systems with unknown nonlinear input dead zone and uncertain environmental disturbances. The control algorithm can update the control law online through real-time data to make the controller adapt to the environment and improve the control precision.Specifically, based on the adaptive backstepping framework, virtual control laws and Lyapunov functions are designed for each subsystem.Three direction interference observers are designed to track the timevarying boundary disturbance. On this basis, the inverse of the dead zone and linear state transformation are used to compensate for the original system and eliminate the adverse effects of the dead zone.In addition, the stability of the closed-loop system is proven by Lyapunov stability theory. All the system states are bounded, and the vibration offset of the riser converges to a small area of the initial position. Finally, four examples of flexible marine risers are simulated in MATLAB to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller. 展开更多

To improve the hit probability of tank at high speed,a prediction method of projectile-target intersection based on adaptive robust constraint-following control and interval uncertainty analysis is proposed. The method proposed provides a novel way to predict the impact point of projectile for moving tank.First, bidirectional stability constraints and stability constraint-following error are constructed using the Udwadia-Kalaba theory, and an adaptive robust constraint-following controller is designed considering uncertainties.Second, the exterior ballistic ordinary differential equation with uncertainties is integrated into the controller, and the pointing control of stability system is extended to the impact-point control of projectile.Third, based on the interval uncertainty analysis method combining Chebyshev polynomial expansion and affine arithmetic,a prediction method of projectile-target intersection is proposed. Finally, the co-simulation experiment is performed by establishing the multi-body system dynamic model of tank and mathematical model of control system. The results demonstrate that the prediction method of projectile-target intersection based on uncertainty analysis can effectively decrease the uncertainties of system, improve the prediction accuracy, and increase the hit probability. The adaptive robust constraint-following control can effectively restrain the uncertainties caused by road excitation and model error. 展开更多

The paper investigates the practical prescribed-time fuzzy tracking control problem for a category of nonlinear system subject to time-varying actuator faults. The presence of unknown nonlinear dynamics and actuator faults makes achieving tracking control within a prescribed-time challenging. To tackle this issue,we propose a novel practical prescribed-time fuzzy tracking control strategy, which is independent of the initial state of the system and does not rely on precise modeling of the system and actuators. We apply the approximation capabilities of fuzzy logic systems to handle the unknown nonlinear functions and unidentified actuator faults in the system. The piecewise controller and adaptive law constructed based on piecewise prescribed time-varying function and backstepping technique method establish the theoretical framework of practical prescribed-time tracking control, and extend the range of prescribed-time tracking control to infinity.Regardless of the initial conditions, the proposed control strategy can guarantee that all signals remain uniformly bounded within the practical prescribed time in the presence of unknown nonlinear item and time-varying actuator faults.Simulation example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. 展开更多

Control loops using communication channels for information exchange among system components are called NCSs (networked control systems). Communication channels introduce imperfections such as time-varying delays, and data-loss that affect the NCSs performance adversely. Many controller design algorithms compensating network constraints for NCSs has been proposed in literature. Most control laws either design stabilizing controllers considering worst-case conditions, or using simpler assumptions, leading to conservative design. Therefore, there is an urgent need to design dynamic controllers that compensate for such network imperfections. Adaptive controllers have been traditionally used for systems with time-varying parameters. However, the role of adaptation in NCSs has been studied only recently by researchers, and there is a need for new results. This article reviews the recent results in adaptive control of NCSs, and proposes research directions for future. 展开更多

In this paper,a new model free adaptive control method based on self-adjusting PID algorithm(MFACSA-PID)is proposed to solve the problem that the pH process with strong nonlinearity is difficult to control near the neutralization point. The MFAC-SA-PID method also solves the problem that the parameters of the model free adaptive control(MFAC)method are not easy to be adjusted and the effect is not obvious by introducing a fuzzy self-adjusting algorithm to adjust the controller parameters. Then the convergence and stability of the MFAC-SA-PID method are proved in this paper. In the simulation study, the control performance of the MFAC-SA-PID method proposed in this paper is compared with the traditional MFAC method and the improved model free adaptive control(IMFAC)method, respectively. The results show that the proposed MFAC-SA-PID method has better control effect on the pH neutralization process. The MFAC-SA-PID control performance also outperforms the traditional MFAC method and IMFAC method when step input disturbances are added, which indicates that the MFAC-SA-PID method has better robustness and stability. 展开更多

This paper proposes an adaptive neural network sliding mode control based on fractional-order ultra-local model for n-DOF upper-limb exoskeleton in presence of uncertainties, external disturbances and input deadzone.Considering the model complexity and input deadzone,a fractional-order ultra-local model is proposed to formulate the original dynamic system for simple controller design.Firstly, the control gain of ultra-local model is considered as a constant. The fractional-order sliding mode technique is designed to stabilize the closed-loop system, while fractional-order time-delay estimation is combined with neural network to estimate the lumped disturbance.Correspondingly,a fractional-order ultra-local model-based neural network sliding mode controller(FO-NNSMC) is proposed.Secondly,to avoid disadvantageous effect of improper gain selection on the control performance, the control gain of ultra-local model is considered as an unknown parameter. Then, the Nussbaum technique is introduced into the FO-NNSMC to deal with the stability problem with unknown gain.Correspondingly,a fractional-order ultra-local model-based adaptive neural network sliding mode controller(FO-ANNSMC) is proposed. Moreover, the stability analysis of the closed-loop system with the proposed method is presented by using the Lyapunov theory. Finally, with the co-simulations on virtual prototype of 7-DOF iReHave upper-limb exoskeleton and experiments on 2-DOF upper-limb exoskeleton, the obtained compared results illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method. 展开更多

Aiming at the tracking problem of a class of discrete nonaffine nonlinear multi-input multi-output(MIMO) repetitive systems subjected to separable and nonseparable disturbances, a novel data-driven iterative learning control(ILC) scheme based on the zeroing neural networks(ZNNs) is proposed. First, the equivalent dynamic linearization data model is obtained by means of dynamic linearization technology, which exists theoretically in the iteration domain. Then, the iterative extended state observer(IESO) is developed to estimate the disturbance and the coupling between systems, and the decoupled dynamic linearization model is obtained for the purpose of controller synthesis. To solve the zero-seeking tracking problem with inherent tolerance of noise,an ILC based on noise-tolerant modified ZNN is proposed. The strict assumptions imposed on the initialization conditions of each iteration in the existing ILC methods can be absolutely removed with our method. In addition, theoretical analysis indicates that the modified ZNN can converge to the exact solution of the zero-seeking tracking problem. Finally, a generalized example and an application-oriented example are presented to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed process. 展开更多

The application of virtual synchronous generator(VSG)control in flywheel energy storage systems(FESS)is an effective solution for addressing the challenges related to reduced inertia and inadequate power supply in microgrids.Considering the significant variations among individual units within a flywheel array and the poor frequency regulation performance under conventional control approaches, this paper proposes an adaptive VSG control strategy for a flywheel energy storage array(FESA).First,by leveraging the FESA model,a variable acceleration factor is integrated into the speed-balance control strategy to effectively achieve better state of charge(SOC)equalization across units.Furthermore, energy control with a dead zone is introduced to prevent SOC of the FESA from exceeding the limit. The dead zone parameter is designed based on the SOC warning intervals of the flywheel array to mitigate its impact on regular operation. In addition,VSG technology is applied for the grid-connected control of the FESA,and the damping characteristic of the VSG is decoupled from the primary frequency regulation through power differential feedback. This ensures optimal dynamic performance while reducing the need for frequent involvement in frequency regulation.Subsequently,a parameter design method is developed through a small-signal stability analysis.Consequently, considering the SOC of the FESA,an adaptive control strategy for the inertia damping and the P/ωdroop coefficient of the VSG control is proposed to optimize the grid support services of the FESA.Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control methods is demonstrated through electromagnetic transient simulations using MATLAB/Simulink. 展开更多

In this paper,a class of time-varying output group formation containment control problem of general linear hetero-geneous multiagent systems(MASs)is investigated under directed topology. The MAS is composed of a number of tracking leaders, formation leaders and followers, where two different types of leaders are used to provide reference trajectories for movement and to achieve certain formations,respectively.Firstly,compen-sators are designed whose states are estimations of tracking lead-ers,based on which,a controller is developed for each formation leader to accomplish the expected formation.Secondly, two event-triggered compensators are proposed for each follower to evalu-ate the state and formation information of the formation leaders in the same group, respectively.Subsequently,a control protocol is designed for each follower, utilizing the output information,to guide the output towards the convex hull generated by the forma-tion leaders within the group.Next, the triggering sequence in this paper is decomposed into two sequences, and the inter-event intervals of these two triggering conditions are provided to rule out the Zeno behavior. Finally,a numerical simulation is intro-duced to confirm the validity of the proposed results. 展开更多

It is interesting yet nontrivial to achieve given control precision within user-assignable time for uncertain nonlinear systems. The underlying problem becomes even more challenging if the transient behavior also needs to be accommodated and only system output is available for feedback.Several key design innovations are proposed to circumvent the aforementioned technical difficulties, including the employment of state estimation filters with event-triggered mechanism, the construction of a novel performance scaling function and an error transformation. In contrast to most existing performance based works where the stability is contingent on initial conditions and the maximum allowable steady-state tracking precision can only be guaranteed at some unknown(theoretically infinite)time,in this work the output of the system is ensured to synchronize with the desired trajectory with arbitrarily pre-assignable convergence rate and arbitrarily pre-specified precision within prescribed time, using output only with lower cost of sensing and communication. In addition, all the closed-loop signals are ensured to be globally uniformly bounded under the proposed control method. The merits of the designed control scheme are confirmed by numerical simulation on a ship model. 展开更多
