[Objective]The paper was to understand species of diseases,pests and weeds and their occurrence periods and dynamic changes of quantity during corn growing period in rainy and dry seasons in Angola.[Method]Using syste...[Objective]The paper was to understand species of diseases,pests and weeds and their occurrence periods and dynamic changes of quantity during corn growing period in rainy and dry seasons in Angola.[Method]Using systematic investigation method,the species and occurrence regularity of diseases,pests and weeds of corn in Pedras Negras farm(Malanje),Sanza Pombo farm(Uige)and Catete farm(Luanda)in the African continent,the Republic of Angola,were studied in two dry seasons and a rainy season from 2011 to 2012.[Result]The occurrence status of pests and diseases of corn during dry and rainy seasons were basically similar,and only individual diseases and pests had different incidence degrees.The corn varieties from the United States and Brazil had prominent advantages in resistance to diseases and barren.Due to different climate environments in dry and rainy seasons,the unearthed rate of weeds in fields was also different.Soil moisture had great impact on weed population and density.Soil layer depth greatly influenced unearthed speed and unearthed rate of weeds.[Conclusion]The study cleared species,occurrence period and harmful levels of pests,diseases and weeds of corn in three provinces of Angola.展开更多
Through comprehensive analysis of source rocks and hydrocarbon geochemical data of several offshore blocks in Angola,two sets of source rocks in the Cretaceous Iabe Formation and Lower Oligocene Malembo Formation are ...Through comprehensive analysis of source rocks and hydrocarbon geochemical data of several offshore blocks in Angola,two sets of source rocks in the Cretaceous Iabe Formation and Lower Oligocene Malembo Formation are developed in the suprasalt structures in deep water area.The source rocks in the Cretaceous Iabe Formation is dominated by Type I kerogen,while the source rocks in the Lower Oligocene Malembo Formation is dominated by Type IIeIII kerogen which mainly generate gas.In the extensional zone,the source rocks in the Malembo Formation are mature and the source rocks in the Iabe Formation are post-matured;this zone undergo multi-stage filling,and the Oligocene paleoreservoirs experience high-temperature pyrolysis to form gas reservoirs;the Upper Miocene reservoirs undergo biodegradation due to poor storage condition.In the transitional zone,oil and gas in the drape anticline area are mainly from the Iabe Formation,and it mix with a small amount of oil and gas from the Malembo Formation in the later stage.In the compression zone,the crude oil is from the Iabe Formation at the mature stage,and contains a small amount of dissolved gas generated by thermal degradation.展开更多
In poorly gauged regions, rainfall data are often short or even absent, hindering the possibility of estimating Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) relations with operationally acceptable accuracy. In this research, a ...In poorly gauged regions, rainfall data are often short or even absent, hindering the possibility of estimating Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) relations with operationally acceptable accuracy. In this research, a novel idea is presented for the use of three separate rainfall datasets: maximum annual daily data, monthly data and Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite data to develop robust IDF in Namibe, south ofAngola. TRMM data is used to derive relations between maximum monthly and maximum daily rainfall and between sub-daily and daily rainfall depths. Frequency analysis is undertaken on the mixed daily record using several distributions and the best fitting is selected based on discriminant plots of the distribution tails and the moment ratio diagram as well as Bayesian criteria. The IDF curves are derived based on the estimates of daily rainfall at various return periods, with the derived sub-daily rainfall duration ratios. Robust IDFs are thus developed for a scarce data region inAfrica.展开更多
