An antiserum was obtained from rabbits immunized with a BMNV preparation Purified from Penaeus japonicus. γ-globulin was isolated and labelled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). This reagent was used to detect the virus in penaeid shrimp experimentally infected with the BMNV preparation, in cultured penaeid shrimp and in several beach animals. The technique is specific, simple and sensitive and can be developed into a practical method for the detection of penaeid shrimp viruses. Among 128 tissue samples from 11beach animals, 77 samples gave positive reactions with the enzyme-labelled immunoglobulin against BMNV from P.japonicus. These animals could possibly constitute a horizontal transmission pathway for cultured penaeid shrimp viruses.展开更多

Nitrogen may be measured by IVNAA in which the capture gamma rays of neutron induced are detected and counted. The neutron flux is provided by a collimated 740 GBq (20Ci) Pu- Be source. The 10.83 MeV thermal neutron capture gamma rays from 14N are detected by a 12.7 cm by 10.2 NaI (T1) detector. The nitrogen of a live rabbit was measured and recorded each day for a period of two months. The statistical error and reproducibility of measurement were around 10%. For a 1000 s irradiation the dose equivalent was 300μ Sv.展开更多

Motion-capture technology is utilized to quantify and characterize locomotor behaviors to reveal the mechanisms of animal motion. In the capture of flexible, small animals with complex locomotor behaviors, the markers interfere with each other easily, and the motion forms(bending, twisting) of the moving parts are obviously different;thus, it is a great challenge to realize accurate quantitative characterization of complex locomotor behaviors. The correlation between the marker properties, including the size and space length, and the precision of the system are revealed in this paper, and the effects of diverse marker shapes on the capturing accuracy of the captured objects in different motion forms were tested. Results showed that the precision of system is significantly improved when the ratio of the space length to the diameter of the markers is larger than four;for the capture of the spatial twisting motion of the flexible object, the hexagon markers had the lowest spatial lost-marker rate relative to the circle, triangle, and square. Customized markers were used to capture the locomotor behavior of the gecko-inspired robot(rigid connection) and the gecko(flexible connection). The results showed that this marking technology can achieve high accuracy of motion capture for geckos(the average deviation was approximately 0.32 mm, and the average deviation’s variation rate was approximately 0.96%). In this paper, the marking technology for the motion capture of flexible, small animals with complex motion is proposed;it can effectively improve the system precision as well as the capture accuracy, and realize the quantitative characterization of the complex motion of flexible, small objects. It provides a reliable technical means to deeply study the evolution of the motion function of small animals and advance systematic research of motion-capture technology.展开更多

文摘As large-scale genomic studies have progressed,it has been revealed that a single reference genome pattern cannot represent genetic diversity at the species level. While domestic animals tend to have complex routes of origin and migration, suggesting a possible omission of some population-specific sequences in the current reference genome.Conversely, the pangenome is a collection of all DNA sequences of a species that contains sequences shared by all individuals(core genome)and is also able to display sequence information unique to each individual(variable genome). The progress of pangenome research in humans, plants and domestic animals has proved that the missing genetic components and the identification of large structural variants(SVs)can be explored through pangenomic studies. Many individual specific sequences have been shown to be related to biological adaptability, phenotype and important economic traits. The maturity of technologies and methods such as third-generation sequencing,Tel-omere-to-telomere genomes, graphic genomes, and reference-free assembly will further promote the development of pangenome. In the future, pangenome combined with long-read data and multi-omics will help to resolve large SVs and their relationship with the main economic traits of interest in domesticated animals, providing better insights into animal domestication, evolution and breeding. In this review,we mainly discuss how pangenome analysis reveals genetic variations in domestic animals(sheep, cattle, pigs, chickens)and their impacts on phenotypes and how this can contribute to the understanding of species diversity.Additionally,we also go through potential issues and the future perspectives of pangenome research in livestock and poultry.

文摘The paper aims to analyze the problems animal-protection faces and try to give advices about how to solve these problems. The first part will analyze that in the history of philosophical development, many philosophers make any excuse to place human above animals. The second part will make comments about how Costello makes the comparison about the poems of Rilke and Hughes about animals. The final part mainly talks about that the dilemma of the animal-rights movement and how to improve the situation.
文摘[Objectives] To make a systematic evaluation of the efficacy and safety of quercetin on animal blood pressure.[Methods] The CNKI,Wan Fang,VIP,CBM,Pubmed, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for the literature about the effects of quercetin on blood pressure in the period from the creation of databases to April 2018.Two researchers separately screened literature and extracted data.Meta-analysis was carried out with the aid of Rev Men 5.3 software.[Results]A total of 10 articles were included, involving 288 animals. All animals were rodents.Meta-analysis results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in Systolic Blood Pressure(SBP) between the quercetin group and the control group.MD =-21.43,95% CI(-28.99,-13.86),P < 0.000 01;subgroup analysis, hypertensive animal group,MD =-29.52,95% CI(-36.05,-22.98),P < 0.000 01;the ability of quercetin group in lowering blood pressure was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant;in the normal blood pressure group,MD =-0.49,95% CI(-3.74,2.77),P = 0.77,the quercetin group was basically the same as the control group, the difference was not statistically significant.[Conclusions] Compared with the blank control group, quercetin can effectively reduce the blood pressure of hypertensive animals, but it has little effect on the blood pressure of normal animals.Besides, further study is needed on the safety of quercetin.
文摘In the development of human civilization, human beings have had frequent contact with different animals.Because of the differ ent cultural background of Chinese and English nationalities and the individuality of national culture, the animals also reflect the different totems or symbols. So in order to learn English well, learn the animals in different culture deeply and communicate properly in inter-cul tural communications,it is necessary to comparative analysis the different culture in Chinese and Western. This paper studied the reflection and connotation of animas in Chinese and western culture.Through giving examples and analysis the two aspects, this paper found that the reasons causing animals connotation differences in different cultures.
文摘An enzyme immunoassay technique is developed for detecting the baculoviral midgut gland necrosis virus (BMNV) in penaeid shrimp and beach anieds. These animals could possibly constitute a horizontal transmission pathway for cultured penaeid shrimp viruses.
文摘Measurement of nitrogen in small live animals (Weighing about 3 kg) can be used to determine the whole- body protein in the animals. For a 1000 s irradiation the dose equivalent was 300μ Sv.

文摘Animals have evolved a variety of behavior patterns to adapt to the environment. It provides a reliable technical means to deeply study the evolution of the motion function of small animals and advance systematic research of motion-capture technology.
