However, the separation of wide-boiling binary mixtures leads to substantial temperature differences between the top and bottom of the column. This limits the applicability of conventional VRHP due to high capital costs and strict performance requirements of the compressor. To overcome these challenges and to accommodate compressor operating conditions, a novel synthesis and design method is introduced to integrate VRHPs with wide-boiling binary mixture distillation columns(WBMDCs). This method enables quick determination of an initial configuration for the integrated WBMDC-VRHP system and helps identify the optimum configuration with the minimum total annual cost. Two examples, namely the separation of benzene/toluene and isopropanol/chlorobenzene, are employed to derive optimum configurations of the WBMDC-VRHP and compare them with the WBMDC. A systematic comparison between the WBMDC-VRHP and WBMDC demonstrates the superior steady-state performance and economic efficiency of the WBMDC-VRHP.展开更多

文摘Organic solar cells(OSCs)are a promising photovoltaic technology for practical applications. However, the design and synthesis of donor materials molecules based on traditional experimental trial-anderror methods are often complex and expensive in terms of money and time.Machine learning(ML)can effectively learn from data sets and build reliable models to predict the performance of materials with reasonable accuracy.Y6 has become the landmark high-performance OSC acceptor material. We collected the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of small molecular donors and polymer donors based on the Y6 acceptor and calculated their molecule structure descriptors. Then we used six types of algorithms to develop models and compare the predictive performance with the coefficient of determination(R^(2))and Pearson correlation coefficient(r)as the metrics.Among them, decision tree-based algorithms showed excellent predictive capability, especially the Gradient Boosting Regression Tree(GBRT)models based on small molecular donors and polymer donors exhibited that the values of R2are 0.84 and 0.69 for the testing set, respectively. Our work provides a strategy to predict PCEs rapidly, and discovers the influence of the descriptors, thereby being expected to screen high-performance donor material molecules.

文摘Focused exploration of earth-abundant and cost-efficient non-noble metal electrocatalysts with superior hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)performance is very important for large-scale and efficient electrolysis of water.Herein,a sandwich composite structure(designed as MS-Mo2C@NCNS)ofβ-Mo2C hollow nanotubes(HNT)and N-doped carbon nanosheets(NCNS)is designed and prepared using a binary NaCl–KCl molten salt(MS)strategy for HER.The temperature-dominant Kirkendall formation mechanism is tentatively proposed for such a three-dimensional hierarchical framework.Due to its attractive structure and componential synergism,MS-Mo2C@NCNS exposes more effective active sites, confers robust structural stability, and shows significant electrocatalytic activity/stability in HER,with a current density of 10 mA cm-2 and an overpotential of only 98 mV in 1 M KOH.Density functional theory calculations point to the synergistic effect of Mo2C HNT and NCNS,leading to enhanced electronic transport and suitable adsorption free energies of H*(ΔGH*)on the surface of electroactive Mo2C.More significantly, the MS-assisted synthetic methodology here provides an enormous perspective for the commercial development of highly active non-noble metal electrocatalysts toward efficient hydrogen evolution.

文摘We present the first detailed photometric analysis of ATO J108.6991+27.8306(hereinafter as J108).The shortperiod close binary J108 was observed by the Nanshan 1 m Wide Field Telescope of the Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory. The obtained BVRI-band light curves were used to determine the photometric solution by using the 2003 version of the Wilson-Devinney code.J108 is a typical deep(f>50%),low mass ratio(q<0.25)overcontact binary system with a mass ratio of q=0.1501 and a fill-out factor of f=50.1%,suggesting that it is in the late evolutionary stage of contact binary systems. We found the target to be a W-type W UMa binary and provided evidence for the presence of starspots on both components. From the temperature-luminosity diagram, the main component is the evolved main sequence star with an evolutionary age of about 7.94 Gyr.

文摘The process control-oriented threat, which can exploit OT(Operational Technology)vulnerabilities to forcibly insert abnormal control commands or status information, has become one of the most devastating cyber attacks in industrial automation control. To effectively detect this threat, this paper proposes one functional pattern-related anomaly detection approach, which skillfully collaborates the BinSeg(Binary Segmentation)algorithm with FSM(Finite State Machine)to identify anomalies between measuring data and control data.By detecting the change points of measuring data, the BinSeg algorithm is introduced to generate some initial sequence segments, which can be further classified and merged into different functional patterns due to their backward difference means and lengths. After analyzing the pattern association according to the Bayesian network, one functional state transition model based on FSM,which accurately describes the whole control and monitoring process,is constructed as one feasible detection engine. Finally,we use the typical SWaT(Secure Water Treatment)dataset to evaluate the proposed approach, and the experimental results show that:for one thing, compared with other change-point detection approaches, the BinSeg algorithm can be more suitable for the optimal sequence segmentation of measuring data due to its highest detection accuracy and least consuming time;for another, the proposed approach exhibits relatively excellent detection ability, because the average detection precision, recall rate and F1-score to identify 10 different attacks can reach 0.872,0.982 and 0.896,respectively.

文摘The particle size ratio(PSR)is an important parameter for binary granular materials, which may aect the microstructure and macro behaviors of granular materials. However, the eect of particle ratio on granular assemblies with dierent arrangements is still unclear. To explore and further clarify the eect of PSR in dierent packing structures, three types of numerical samples with regular, layered, and random packing are designed.Numerical results show that PSR has signicant eects on binary granular samples with regular packing. The larger the PSR,the stronger the strength, the larger the modulus, and the smaller the angle between the shear band and the load direction. And a theoretical solution of the peak stress ratio vs.PSR is obtained for regular packing, and the results by DEM are in good agreement with the theoretical solution.Under layered packing,PSR has little eect on peak stress ratio due to similar microstructure obtained with the changing of PSR.The modulus slightly increased with the increase of PSR.Under random packing with small grain content of 50%,PSR has little eect in the range of 0.5–0.9,but in a larger range, larger PSR leads to greater modulus.
文摘The vapor recompression heat pump(VRHP) distillation technology offers significant improvements in energy efficiency for distillation systems with small temperature differences between the top and bottom of the column. A systematic comparison between the WBMDC-VRHP and WBMDC demonstrates the superior steady-state performance and economic efficiency of the WBMDC-VRHP.

文摘The identification of cancer tissues in Gastroenterology imaging poses novel challenges to the computer vision community in designing generic decision support systems. This generic nature demands the image descriptors to be invariant to illumination gradients, scaling, homogeneous illumination, and rotation. In this article,we devise a novel feature extraction methodology, which explores the effectiveness of Gabor filters coupled with Block Local Binary Patterns in designing such descriptors. We effectively exploit the illumination invariance properties of Block Local Binary Patterns and the inherent capability of convolutional neural networks to construct novel rotation, scale and illumination invariant features. The invariance characteristics of the proposed Gabor Block Local Binary Patterns(GBLBP)are demonstrated using a publicly available texture dataset. We use the proposed feature extraction methodology to extract texture features from Chromoendoscopy(CH)images for the classification of cancer lesions. The proposed feature set is later used in conjuncture with convolutional neural networks to classify the CH images. The proposed convolutional neural network is a shallow network comprising of fewer parameters in contrast to other state-of-the-art networks exhibiting millions of parameters required for effective training. The obtained results reveal that the proposed GBLBP performs favorably to several other state-of-the-art methods including both hand crafted and convolutional neural networks-based features.

文摘Relaxation and diffusion measurements were carried out on single and binary liquids filling the pore space of controlled porous glass Vycor with an average pore size of about 4 nm.The dispersion of the longitudinal relaxation time Tr is discussed as a means to identify liquid-surface interaction based on existing models developed for metal-free glass surfaces. In addition, the change of T1 and T2 with respect to their bulk values is discussed,in particular T2 serves as a probe for the strength of molecular interactions. As the native glass surface is polar and contains a large amount of hydroxyl groups,a pronounced interaction of polar and protic adsorbate liquids is expected;however, the T dispersion, and the corresponding reduction of T2,are also observed for non-polar liquids such as alkanes and cyclohexane.Deuterated liquids are employed for simplifying data analysis in binary systems, but also for separating the respective contributions of intra-and intermolecular interactions to the overall relaxation rate.Despite the lack of paramagnetic impurities in the glass material,H and 2H relaxation dispersions of equivalent molecules are frequently found to differ from each other, suggesting intermolecular relaxation mechanisms for the'H nuclei. The variation of the T dispersion when comparing single and binary systems gives clear evidence for the preferential adsorption of one of the two liquids, suggesting complete phase separation in several cases.Measurement of the apparent tortuosity by self-diffusion experiments supports the concept of a local variation of sample composition within the porespace.
文摘In this paper,we consider the NP-hard problem of finding the minimum dominant resolving set of graphs.A vertex set B of a connected graph G resolves G if every vertex of G is uniquely identified by its vector of distances to the vertices in B.A resolving set is dominating if every vertex of G that does not belong to B is a neighbor to some vertices in B.The dominant metric dimension of G is the cardinality number of the minimum dominant resolving set.The dominant metric dimension is computed by a binary version of the Archimedes optimization algorithm(BAOA).The objects of BAOA are binary encoded and used to represent which one of the vertices of the graph belongs to the dominant resolving set.The feasibility is enforced by repairing objects such that an additional vertex generated from vertices of G is added to B and this repairing process is iterated until B becomes the dominant resolving set. This is the first attempt to determine the dominant metric dimension problem heuristically. The proposed BAOA is compared to binary whale optimization(BWOA)and binary particle optimization(BPSO)algorithms.Computational results confirm the superiority of the BAOA for computing the dominant metric dimension.

文摘The first photometric, spectroscopic and period variation studies of neglected short-period eclipsing binary V2840Cygni are presented.High mass ratio contact binaries(HMRCBs),especially those in the weak-contact configuration, are vital when probing the evolutionary models of contact binaries(CBs) using stellar parameters. The photometric solutions reveal the weak-contact nature of V2840 Cygni with a high mass ratio(~1.36),motivating us to investigate the nature of such binaries. The period variation study of V2840 Cygni spanning 15 yr shows a secular period decrease at a rate of ~5.5 × 10^(-7) day yr^(-1),indicating mass transfer between the components. The superimposed cyclic variation provides a basic understanding of the possible third body(P_(3)- 8 yr,m_(3)- 0.51 M_(⊙)).Following the derived parameters, the evolution of the system is discussed based on the thermal relaxation oscillation(TRO) model. It is found that V2840 Cygni falls in a special category of HMRCBs,which validates TRO.To characterize the nature of HMRCBs,a catalog of 59 CBs with high mass ratios has been compiled along with their derived parameters from the literature. For all the HMRCBs in the study,a possible correlation between their contact configuration and observed period variations for relative log J_(rel) is discussed. The spectroscopic study of V2840 Cygni provides evidence of the presence of magnetic activity in the system and the existence of ongoing mass transfer which is additionally deduced from the period variation study. The LAMOST spectra of 17 HMRCBs are collected to interpret the stellar magnetic activity in such systems.

文摘Type Ia supernovae(SNe Ia)play a key role in the fields of astrophysics and cosmology. It is widely accepted that SNe Ia arise from thermonuclear explosions of white dwarfs(WDs)in binary systems. However, there is no consensus on the fundamental aspects of the nature of SN Ia progenitors and their actual explosion mechanism. This fundamentally flaws our understanding of these important astrophysical objects. In this review,we outline the diversity of SNe Ia and the proposed progenitor models and explosion mechanisms. We discuss the recent theoretical and observational progress in addressing the SN Ia progenitor and explosion mechanism in terms of the observables at various stages of the explosion, including rates and delay times,pre-explosion companion stars, ejecta–companion interaction, early excess emission, early radio/X-ray emission from circumstellar material interaction, surviving companion stars,late-time spectra and photometry, polarization signals and supernova remnant properties.Despite the efforts from both the theoretical and observational sides, questions of how the WDs reach an explosive state and what progenitor systems are more likely to produce SNe Ia remain open.No single published model is able to consistently explain all observational features and the full diversity of SNe Ia.This may indicate that either a new progenitor paradigm or an improvement in current models is needed if all SNe Ia arise from the same origin. An alternative scenario is that different progenitor channels and explosion mechanisms contribute to SNe Ia.In the next decade, the ongoing campaigns with the James Webb Space Telescope,Gaia and the Zwicky Transient Facility, and upcoming extensive projects with the Vera C.Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time and the Square Kilometre Array will allow us to conduct not only studies of individual SNe Ia in unprecedented detail but also systematic investigations for different subclasses of SNe Ia.This will advance theory and observations of SNe Ia sufficiently far to gain a deeper understanding of their origin and explosion mechanism.

文摘We have completed our observational program to search for wide binary systems with non-coeval components in the southern sky and report our results here. The final set of four systems was spectroscopically investigated in this paper. No binary systems with components of different ages were found among them.Taking into account our previous studies,we estimate the fraction of such binaries(i.e.,binaries formed, presumably,by capture)to be not higher than 0.06%.The study will be continued on the northern sky.
