Clarifying China’s position in the global system is an important logical basis for developing national diplomacy.Although much research has been done on China’s development status,most studies have been based on cou...Clarifying China’s position in the global system is an important logical basis for developing national diplomacy.Although much research has been done on China’s development status,most studies have been based on country comparisons or institutional en-vironment.In today’s networked era in which the global economy,trade,personnel,and information are closely connected,studies on China’s global position and its status changes and influencing factors in multiple contact networks are still insufficient.In this study,from the perspective of diverse global contact networks,we constructed economic,cultural,and political influence indices to explore the changes and influencing factors on China’s status in the global system from 2005 to 2018.The results show that during the study period,China’s global influence in the fields of economic ties,cultural exchanges,and political contacts increased significantly,but its influ-ence in the fields of cultural exchanges and political contacts lagged far economic ties.The pattern of China’s economic influence on various economies around the world has shown a transformation from an‘upright pyramid’to an‘inverted pyramid’structure.The proportion of these economies in low-influence zones has decreased from more than 60%in 2005 to less than 20%in 2018.China’s cultural and political influence on various economies around the world has increased significantly;however,for the former,the percentage of high-influence areas is still less than 20%,whereas for the latter the percentage of these economies in medium-and high-influence areas is still less than 50%.Analyses such as a scatter plot matrix show that geographical proximity,economic globalization,close cooperation with developing countries,and a proactive and peaceful foreign policy are important factors in improving China’s status in the diverse global network system.展开更多
Cross-cultural storytelling is a primary way for humankind to seek mutual recognition of value orientations between cultures,which facilitates the ability to jointly address the problems of human existence in the cont...Cross-cultural storytelling is a primary way for humankind to seek mutual recognition of value orientations between cultures,which facilitates the ability to jointly address the problems of human existence in the context of globalization.In this study,we conducted an interview survey of 6,130 respondents who were college students or graduates from 107 countries.The results show that there were a number of cross-cultural values embodied in China’s stories seen by the respondents as part of a common vision for the future of humankind and widely identified guidance on collaborative responses to global challenges.These cross-cultural values are common prosperity,ecological harmony,individual-collective integration,the urgency of global peace,as well as respect for multicultural and indigenous development paths.展开更多
Huaihe River Basin(HRB) is located in China’s north-south climatic transition zone,which is very sensitive to global climate change.Based on the daily maximum temperature,minimum temperature,and precipitation data of...Huaihe River Basin(HRB) is located in China’s north-south climatic transition zone,which is very sensitive to global climate change.Based on the daily maximum temperature,minimum temperature,and precipitation data of 40 meteorological stations and nine monthly large-scale ocean-atmospheric circulation indices data during 1959–2019,we present an assessment of the spatial and temporal variations of extreme temperature and precipitation events in the HRB using nine extreme climate indices,and analyze the teleconnection relationship between extreme climate indices and large-scale ocean-atmospheric circulation indices.The results show that warm extreme indices show a significant(P < 0.05) increasing trend,while cold extreme indices(except for cold spell duration) and diurnal temperature range(DTR) show a significant decreasing trend.Furthermore,all extreme temperature indices show significant mutations during 1959-2019.Spatially,a stronger warming trend occurs in eastern HRB than western HRB,while maximum 5-d precipitation(Rx5day) and rainstorm days(R25) show an increasing trend in the southern,central,and northwestern regions of HRB.Arctic oscillation(AO),Atlantic multidecadal oscillation(AMO),and East Atlantic/Western Russia(EA/WR) have a stronger correlation with extreme climate indices compared to other circulation indices.AO and AMO(EA/WR) exhibit a significant(P < 0.05) negative(positive)correlation with frost days and diurnal temperature range.Extreme warm events are strongly correlated with the variability of AMO and EA/WR in most parts of HRB,while extreme cold events are closely related to the variability of AO and AMO in eastern HRB.In contrast,AMO,AO,and EA/WR show limited impacts on extreme precipitation events in most parts of HRB.展开更多

Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)is the most severe epidemic that is prevalent all over the world.How quickly and accurately identifying COVID-19 is of great significance to controlling the spread speed of the epidem...Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)is the most severe epidemic that is prevalent all over the world.How quickly and accurately identifying COVID-19 is of great significance to controlling the spread speed of the epidemic.Moreover,it is essential to accurately and rapidly identify COVID-19 lesions by analyzing Chest X-ray images.As we all know,image segmentation is a critical stage in image processing and analysis.To achieve better image segmentation results,this paper proposes to improve the multi-verse optimizer algorithm using the Rosenbrock method and diffusion mechanism named RDMVO.Then utilizes RDMVO to calculate the maximum Kapur’s entropy for multilevel threshold image segmentation.This image segmentation scheme is called RDMVO-MIS.We ran two sets of experiments to test the performance of RDMVO and RDMVO-MIS.First,RDMVO was compared with other excellent peers on IEEE CEC2017 to test the performance of RDMVO on benchmark functions.Second,the image segmentation experiment was carried out using RDMVO-MIS,and some meta-heuristic algorithms were selected as comparisons.The test image dataset includes Berkeley images and COVID-19 Chest X-ray images.The experimental results verify that RDMVO is highly competitive in benchmark functions and image segmentation experiments compared with other meta-heuristic algorithms.展开更多

Based on the analysis of more than 2 500 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical satellite images, the internal wave propagation in the whole South China Sea was investigated systematically. The results show that (1) in the northeastern South China Sea, most internal waves propagate westward from the Luzon Strait and are diffracted by coral reefs near the Dongsha Islands. Some impinge onto the shelf and a few are reflected; (2) in the northwestern South China Sea, most internal waves are generated at the shelf and propagate northwestward or westward to the coast; (3) in the western South China Sea, most internal waves propagate westward to the Vietnamese coast, except a few propagate southward to the deep sea; and (4) in the southern South China Sea, most internal waves propagate southwestward to the coast. Some propagate southeastward to the coast of Kalimantan Island, and a few propagate southeastward because of the influence of the Mekong River.展开更多

Several preprocessing steps, such as geometric correction, SST determination, image projection, image navigation and grey value normalization as well as land and cloud mask are performed. The image-matching individual PCR technique was applied to identify the image collectable unicellular microplankton to genera. Instead of pure strain culture and morphological identification, microplankton individual cells were isolated and fixed with glutaraldehyde, frozen and stored for months. Finally, they were imaged under a microscope and molecularly identified via phylogenetic analysis of their 18S ribosomal RNA gene(18S rDNA). Microplankton cells were collected at 30 locations in South China Sea, and were assigned to 21 known and 4 unidentified genera(2 uncultured fungi and 2 uncultured stramenopiles) with phylogenetic analysis in parallel to the morphological identification.展开更多

There are many studies on the image of China from the perspective of famous Western thinkers, politicians and writers. The research results can be basically classified into two categories: Western-centralism and China-centralism. 文摘Huaihe River Basin(HRB) is located in China’s north-south climatic transition zone,which is very sensitive to global climate change.Based on the daily maximum temperature,minimum temperature,and precipitation data of 40 meteorological stations and nine monthly large-scale ocean-atmospheric circulation indices data during 1959–2019,we present an assessment of the spatial and temporal variations of extreme temperature and precipitation events in the HRB using nine extreme climate indices,and analyze the teleconnection relationship between extreme climate indices and large-scale ocean-atmospheric circulation indices.The results show that warm extreme indices show a significant(P < 0.05) increasing trend,while cold extreme indices(except for cold spell duration) and diurnal temperature range(DTR) show a significant decreasing trend.Furthermore,all extreme temperature indices show significant mutations during 1959-2019.Spatially,a stronger warming trend occurs in eastern HRB than western HRB,while maximum 5-d precipitation(Rx5day) and rainstorm days(R25) show an increasing trend in the southern,central,and northwestern regions of HRB.Arctic oscillation(AO),Atlantic multidecadal oscillation(AMO),and East Atlantic/Western Russia(EA/WR) have a stronger correlation with extreme climate indices compared to other circulation indices.AO and AMO(EA/WR) exhibit a significant(P < 0.05) negative(positive)correlation with frost days and diurnal temperature range.Extreme warm events are strongly correlated with the variability of AMO and EA/WR in most parts of HRB,while extreme cold events are closely related to the variability of AO and AMO in eastern HRB.In contrast,AMO,AO,and EA/WR show limited impacts on extreme precipitation events in most parts of HRB.
文摘At present,with the steady development of the global economy,more and more countries begin to pay attention to the impact of ecological environment on economic development and human society,so the ecological environment has become a global issue that cannot be ignored in today’s era.Therefore,from the perspective of the ecological philosophy of Diversity&Harmony as well as Interaction&Co-existence,this paper will conduct ecological discourse analysis on the Energy in China’s New Era based on the transitivity system of systemic-functional grammar,and use the Corpus analysis software UAM Corpus Tool 3.3x to label and make statistics on the transitivity system,aiming to explore the distribution characteristics of the transitivity system in this white paper.Through the transitivity analysis of the white paper,this study helps readers to have a deeper understanding of the positive significance contained in the white paper.To a certain extent,it enables readers at home and abroad to understand China’s stance on energy issues and the positive image of China in energy ecology.It also awaken readers’awareness of environmental protection and acquire good habits of resource conservation to be in harmony between human and nature for sustainable development.

文摘Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)is the most severe epidemic that is prevalent all over the world.How quickly and accurately identifying COVID-19 is of great significance to controlling the spread speed of the epidemic.Moreover,it is essential to accurately and rapidly identify COVID-19 lesions by analyzing Chest X-ray images.As we all know,image segmentation is a critical stage in image processing and analysis.To achieve better image segmentation results,this paper proposes to improve the multi-verse optimizer algorithm using the Rosenbrock method and diffusion mechanism named RDMVO.Then utilizes RDMVO to calculate the maximum Kapur’s entropy for multilevel threshold image segmentation.This image segmentation scheme is called RDMVO-MIS.We ran two sets of experiments to test the performance of RDMVO and RDMVO-MIS.First,RDMVO was compared with other excellent peers on IEEE CEC2017 to test the performance of RDMVO on benchmark functions.Second,the image segmentation experiment was carried out using RDMVO-MIS,and some meta-heuristic algorithms were selected as comparisons.The test image dataset includes Berkeley images and COVID-19 Chest X-ray images.The experimental results verify that RDMVO is highly competitive in benchmark functions and image segmentation experiments compared with other meta-heuristic algorithms.

文摘Internal wave propagation carries considerable vertical shear which can lead to turbulence and mixing. Based on the analysis of more than 2 500 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical satellite images, the internal wave propagation in the whole South China Sea was investigated systematically. The results show that (1) in the northeastern South China Sea, most internal waves propagate westward from the Luzon Strait and are diffracted by coral reefs near the Dongsha Islands. Some impinge onto the shelf and a few are reflected; (2) in the northwestern South China Sea, most internal waves are generated at the shelf and propagate northwestward or westward to the coast; (3) in the western South China Sea, most internal waves propagate westward to the Vietnamese coast, except a few propagate southward to the deep sea; and (4) in the southern South China Sea, most internal waves propagate southwestward to the coast. Some propagate southeastward to the coast of Kalimantan Island, and a few propagate southeastward because of the influence of the Mekong River.
文摘A series of NOAA AVHRR data over the East China Sea were collected from the ground station of the Second Institute of Oceanography, Hangzhou, China. Three methods, including a functional analytic method (FAM), a maximum cross correlation (MCC)’method and a correlation relaxation (C - R) method, are applied to derive the sea surface current field from sequential satellite images in the area of the East China Sea. Several preprocessing steps, such as geometric correction, SST determination, image projection, image navigation and grey value normalization as well as land and cloud mask are performed. The results from the three methods reflect the general current system in this area reasonably.

On the basis of the continued description of the kingship and wealth of the Middle Ages, they constructed an overall image of China as a powerful state of civilization and wealth, thus forming a new frame of reference for cognition of China.

文摘In this study, marine microplankton were identified by combining standard light microscopy with Sanger 18S rRNA gene sequencing. The image-matching individual PCR technique was applied to identify the image collectable unicellular microplankton to genera. Instead of pure strain culture and morphological identification, microplankton individual cells were isolated and fixed with glutaraldehyde, frozen and stored for months. Finally, they were imaged under a microscope and molecularly identified via phylogenetic analysis of their 18S ribosomal RNA gene(18S rDNA). Microplankton cells were collected at 30 locations in South China Sea, and were assigned to 21 known and 4 unidentified genera(2 uncultured fungi and 2 uncultured stramenopiles) with phylogenetic analysis in parallel to the morphological identification.

文摘China’s understanding of the national image has gone through three stages. Chinese experts and scholars are generally aware of the importance of the national image, but their research results are mostly passive stress responses to the reality of the “demonization” of China’s image. Research on Western images of China features the change from individual research to group research, from overall analysis to delicate classification, and from a specific historical period (shorter historical period) to a longer historical period. There are many studies on the image of China from the perspective of famous Western thinkers, politicians and writers. The research results can be basically classified into two categories: Western-centralism and China-centralism. On this basis, the research on Western images of China is both realistic and illusory, and conclusions drawn are both objective and stereotyped.

文摘From the 13th century to the middle of the 18th century, the travel texts to China depicted a beautiful Chinese image of a country of wealth, morality, civilization, wisdom and belief to the west. The author analyzed the western missionaries’ criticism of China from the 18th to the 19th century, the professional navigators’ criticism of China, and the researchers’ criticism of China’s decline, decay and stagnation, so as to project their historical pursuit of change and self transcendence. During this period, more and more national landscape images of decline, decay and stagnation appeared in the travel texts, and the idealized image of China began to walk into the tomb of history.
