The green development of Chongqing municipality is crucial in establishing a major ecological shield in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.By developing a Super-SBM model and using the Malmquist index to analyze a...The green development of Chongqing municipality is crucial in establishing a major ecological shield in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.By developing a Super-SBM model and using the Malmquist index to analyze and calculate the green development efficiency and its influencing factors in Chongqing from 2011 to 2021,this study reveals an accelerating trend in the overall green development efficiency in Chongqing.The significant enhancement of green development efficiency in Chongqing is primarily attributed to changes in returns to scale.Pure technical efficiency and technological advancements have a considerable potential impact on improving green development efficiency in Chongqing.Furthermore,there are discernible disparities in green development efficiency among districts and counties in Chongqing,with different factors influencing these variations.Chongqing is suggested to promote clean and efficient energy utilization,bolster the application and commercialization of scientific and technological advancements,consistently advance ecological restoration and management,and elevate the quality of green development to a higher level.展开更多
In order to investigate the evolutionary characteristics of rural functions and their interaction,37 districts and counties in Chongqing,China are used as research objects to measure the level of rural functions and a...In order to investigate the evolutionary characteristics of rural functions and their interaction,37 districts and counties in Chongqing,China are used as research objects to measure the level of rural functions and analyze the interaction between rural functions using entropy value method and spatial autocorrelation method.The results show that from 2009 to 2019,the three main functions of production,living and ecology in Chongqing’s villages have been greatly enhanced,especially the production function.On the whole,the production and living functions are stronger in the western part,while the ecological functions are significant in the eastern and southern parts of Chongqing,with some differences in local spatial characteristics.This finding is consistent with the regional economic and social development of Chongqing.In addition,the interaction between rural functions is also evident.In general,production and living functions are mainly expressed in synergistic relationships.Ecological and production functions,including ecological and subsistence functions,mainly present a trade-off relationship.The interactions between rural functions also show clear spatial and temporal differences.In addition,different regions have different comparative advantage functions,and in this study,the counties of Chongqing are classified into four types.Policy makers are advised to adopt different measures according to the different types to promote sustainable rural development by coordinating the’production-living-ecological’functions of rural areas.This study reveals the spatio-temporal evolution of rural functions and the interaction between rural functions,which can provide theoretical support and practical reference for rural revitalisation and sustainable development.展开更多

Chongqing, located at the tail area of the Three Gorges Reservoir, is a typically in-land hilly city in China. A series of serious eco-environmental hazard affecting hilly city have appeared: the forest landscape has been fragmented; the stability of ecological system has not been maintained; soil erosion has been serious; geological disasters have become more and more frequented; the phenomenon of city "heat islands" is obvious; and environmental pollution is worsened with low physical self-puri-f ication. All of the hazards above will affect ecological security of the tail area of the Three Gorges Reservoir and sus-tainable development of Chongqing. In order to guarantee ecological security and health of Chongqing and the Three Gorges Reservoir, the countermeasures for ecological infrastructure construction are put forward: quickly drawing up ecological infrastructure planning of Chongqing Municipality, strengthening the integration and continuation of hilly-water spatial pattern, maintaining the diversity and stability of local ecosystem, establishing the green space system in-cluding suburban forest, farmland and green space, recovering wetland ecosystem, optimizing industrial structure and urban spatial distribution, developing recycling economy, establishing ecological infrastructure monitoring network and information forecast system, carrying out ecological management for Chongqing Municipality and so on.展开更多

The literature on urban vitality tends to focus on the built environment.This paper argues that some important processes in shaping vitality may be overlooked without examining the intensity and diversity of economic ...The literature on urban vitality tends to focus on the built environment.This paper argues that some important processes in shaping vitality may be overlooked without examining the intensity and diversity of economic and human activities.Using newly developed spatial big data and adopting the methods of multi-indicator measurement and spatial analysis methods,we analyzed the pattern of urban vitality in Chongqing,a provincial city in western China and,on this basis,evaluated the creation and maintenance of urban vitality from the economic and human activities perspective.Our findings indicate that the impacts of economic and human activities are positive and significant.Among the three intensity and diversity indicators,economic intensity and population density show an effect on urban vitality stronger than that of economic diversity.However,economic diversity has the strongest superposition or interactive effect,and is thus an important foundation dynamic.The positive effect of population density on urban vitality is largely a result of Chongqing’s jobs-housing balance.The case of Chongqing highlights the importance of topographic features,historical inheritance,large-scale migration,and cultural activities in shaping the distinctive vitality pattern of a city.This study contends that the creation and maintenance of urban vitality can not be fully explained without incorporating the impacts of economic and human activities.It contributes to a comprehensive measurement of urban vitality and enriches its connotations.展开更多

Burk...This document describes the creation of an informative Web GIS aimed at mitigating the impacts of flooding in the municipality of Ouagadougou, in Burkina Faso, a region that is highly sensitive to climate change. Burkina Faso, which is undergoing rapid urbanization, faces major natural threats, particularly flooding, as demonstrated by the severe floods of 2009 that caused loss of life, injury, structural damage and economic losses in Ouagadougou. The aim of this research is to develop a web map highlighting the municipality’s flood-prone areas, with a view to informing and raising awareness of flood risk reduction. Using the Leaflet JavaScript mapping library, the study uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript to implement web mapping technology. Data on Ouagadougou’s flood zones is generated by a multi-criteria analysis combining Saaty’s AHP method and GIS in QGIS, integrating seven (7) parameters including hydrography, altitude, slope, rainfall, soil types, land use and soil moisture index. QGIS processes and maps the themes, PostgreSQL with PostGIS serves as the DBMS and GeoServer functions as the map server. The Web GIS platform allows users to visualize the different flood risks, from very low to very high, or the high-risk areas specific to Ouagadougou. The AHP calculations classify the municipality into five flood vulnerability zones: very low (24.48%), low (27.93%), medium (23.01%), high (17.11%) and very high (7.47%). Effective risk management requires communication and awareness-raising. This online mapping application serves as a tool for communication, management and flood prevention in Ouagadougou, helping to mitigate flood-related natural disasters.展开更多

Introduction:The first imported case of monkeypox(MPX)from the mainland of China was reported in September 2022.Herein,the study reports the isolation and characterization of MPX virus(MPXV)in this case.Methods:Clinic...Introduction:The first imported case of monkeypox(MPX)from the mainland of China was reported in September 2022.Herein,the study reports the isolation and characterization of MPX virus(MPXV)in this case.Methods:Clinical specimens including skin blister fluid,oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swabs,and blood were collected and inoculated onto Vero cells.The isolated virus was identified as MPXV using quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR),cytopathic effects(CPEs),immunofluorescence assay(IFA)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Plaque assays were employed to quantify infectious plaque-forming units(PFUs).The plaque reduction neutralization test(PRNT)was developed to determine the neutralizing antibody(nAb)against MPXV.Results:MPXV replication was confirmed with qPCR.Typical CPEs were observed 48 h postincubation.The isolated virus was named MPXV-B.1-China-C-Tan-CQ01.IFA showed that MPXV reacted with serum of MPX case.Orthopoxvirus morphology was observed using TEM.The virus titer increased to>106 PFU/mL after three passages.The serum PRNT 50%neutralization titer(NT50)was 35 for the MPX patient 6 days after symptom onset.Discussion:The study successfully isolated the first MPXV strain in the mainland of China,MPXV-B.1-China-C-Tan-CQ01.Infectious titration and PRNT methods have been developed.The study provides key resources and technical platforms for further research as well as anti-viral drug and vaccine development against MPX.展开更多

文摘On February 14,2023,a co-infection of Omicron strains was detected in a sample collected and submitted for examination at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.On February 7,2023,a 67-year-old female patient living in Yunyang County,Chongqing City,was identified with a history of malignant tumor that had been treated with chemotherapy,radiotherapy,targeting,and other treatments in the past 6 months.Low immunity was suspected,but no other basic diseases,history of smoking,or drinking habits were present.The patient had received two injections of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccine(Sinovac Life Sciences Co.Ltd.).

文摘The literature on urban vitality tends to focus on the built environment.This paper argues that some important processes in shaping vitality may be overlooked without examining the intensity and diversity of economic and human activities.Using newly developed spatial big data and adopting the methods of multi-indicator measurement and spatial analysis methods,we analyzed the pattern of urban vitality in Chongqing,a provincial city in western China and,on this basis,evaluated the creation and maintenance of urban vitality from the economic and human activities perspective.Our findings indicate that the impacts of economic and human activities are positive and significant.Among the three intensity and diversity indicators,economic intensity and population density show an effect on urban vitality stronger than that of economic diversity.However,economic diversity has the strongest superposition or interactive effect,and is thus an important foundation dynamic.The positive effect of population density on urban vitality is largely a result of Chongqing’s jobs-housing balance.The case of Chongqing highlights the importance of topographic features,historical inheritance,large-scale migration,and cultural activities in shaping the distinctive vitality pattern of a city.This study contends that the creation and maintenance of urban vitality can not be fully explained without incorporating the impacts of economic and human activities.It contributes to a comprehensive measurement of urban vitality and enriches its connotations.
文摘This document describes the creation of an informative Web GIS aimed at mitigating the impacts of flooding in the municipality of Ouagadougou, in Burkina Faso, a region that is highly sensitive to climate change. Burkina Faso, which is undergoing rapid urbanization, faces major natural threats, particularly flooding, as demonstrated by the severe floods of 2009 that caused loss of life, injury, structural damage and economic losses in Ouagadougou. The aim of this research is to develop a web map highlighting the municipality’s flood-prone areas, with a view to informing and raising awareness of flood risk reduction. Using the Leaflet JavaScript mapping library, the study uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript to implement web mapping technology. Data on Ouagadougou’s flood zones is generated by a multi-criteria analysis combining Saaty’s AHP method and GIS in QGIS, integrating seven (7) parameters including hydrography, altitude, slope, rainfall, soil types, land use and soil moisture index. QGIS processes and maps the themes, PostgreSQL with PostGIS serves as the DBMS and GeoServer functions as the map server. The Web GIS platform allows users to visualize the different flood risks, from very low to very high, or the high-risk areas specific to Ouagadougou. The AHP calculations classify the municipality into five flood vulnerability zones: very low (24.48%), low (27.93%), medium (23.01%), high (17.11%) and very high (7.47%). Effective risk management requires communication and awareness-raising. This online mapping application serves as a tool for communication, management and flood prevention in Ouagadougou, helping to mitigate flood-related natural disasters.

文摘Monkeypox is a zoonotic viral disease caused by the monkeypox virus(MPXV),and historically,all outbreaks have been linked to Africa;however,monkeypox has been posing an alarming challenge to the world in 2022(1)as approximately 60,000 cases have been reported in more than 100 nations and regions worldwide(2).Currently,many cases of monkeypox were identified in many nonendemic countries outside of Central and West Africa,and human-to-human transmission has occurred frequently,especially among men who have sex with men(MSM)presenting new clinical symptoms similar to syphilis and other sexually transmitted infections(3).
文摘On April 22 and 23,2021,3 confirmed COVID-19 cases in passengers on an arriving airplane from Nepal were reported by Chongqing Public Health Medical Center.Preliminary epidemiological investigation revealed these 3 patients,males aged 20-30 years,were coworkers of a cellphone company that has a manufacturing base in Noida,India,where they worked with their Indian colleagues since late 2019.

文摘Introduction:The first imported case of monkeypox(MPX)from the mainland of China was reported in September 2022.Herein,the study reports the isolation and characterization of MPX virus(MPXV)in this case.Methods:Clinical specimens including skin blister fluid,oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swabs,and blood were collected and inoculated onto Vero cells.The isolated virus was identified as MPXV using quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR),cytopathic effects(CPEs),immunofluorescence assay(IFA)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Plaque assays were employed to quantify infectious plaque-forming units(PFUs).The plaque reduction neutralization test(PRNT)was developed to determine the neutralizing antibody(nAb)against MPXV.Results:MPXV replication was confirmed with qPCR.Typical CPEs were observed 48 h postincubation.The isolated virus was named MPXV-B.1-China-C-Tan-CQ01.IFA showed that MPXV reacted with serum of MPX case.Orthopoxvirus morphology was observed using TEM.The virus titer increased to>106 PFU/mL after three passages.The serum PRNT 50%neutralization titer(NT50)was 35 for the MPX patient 6 days after symptom onset.Discussion:The study successfully isolated the first MPXV strain in the mainland of China,MPXV-B.1-China-C-Tan-CQ01.Infectious titration and PRNT methods have been developed.The study provides key resources and technical platforms for further research as well as anti-viral drug and vaccine development against MPX.
