Unstructured meshes exhibit strong geometric adaptability and can overcome the deficiencies of conventionally structured meshes in complex geometry modeling. A multithreaded parallel upwind sweep algorithm for S_(N) transport was proposed to achieve a more accurate geometric description and improve the computational efficiency. The spatial variables were discretized using the standard discontinuous Galerkin finite-element method. The angular flux transmission between neighboring meshes was handled using an upwind scheme. In addition, a combination of a mesh transport sweep and angular iterations was realized using a multithreaded parallel technique. The algorithm was implemented in the 2D/3D S_(N) transport code ThorSNIPE, and numerical evaluations were conducted using three typical benchmark problems:IAEA, Kobayashi-3i, and VENUS-3. These numerical results indicate that the multithreaded parallel upwind sweep algorithm can achieve high computational efficiency. ThorSNIPE, with a multithreaded parallel upwind sweep algorithm, has good reliability, stability, and high efficiency, making it suitable for complex shielding calculations.展开更多

This paper presents a classification framework to categorize rock blocks based on the principles of block theory. The deep convolutional neural network(CNN) procedure was utilized to analyze a total of 1240 highresolution images from 130 slope masses at the South Pars Special Zone, Assalouyeh, Southwest Iran.Based on Goodman’s theory, a recognition system has been implemented to classify three types of rock blocks, namely, key blocks, trapped blocks, and stable blocks. The proposed prediction model has been validated with the loss function, root mean square error(RMSE), and mean square error(MSE). As a justification of the model, the support vector machine(SVM), random forest(RF), Gaussian naïve Bayes(GNB), multilayer perceptron(MLP), Bernoulli naïve Bayes(BNB), and decision tree(DT) classifiers have been used to evaluate the accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and confusion matrix. Accuracy and precision of the proposed model are 0.95 and 0.93, respectively, in comparison with SVM(accuracy = 0.85, precision = 0.85), RF(accuracy = 0.71, precision = 0.71), GNB(accuracy = 0.75,precision = 0.65), MLP(accuracy = 0.88, precision = 0.9), BNB(accuracy = 0.75, precision = 0.69), and DT(accuracy = 0.85, precision = 0.76). In addition, the proposed model reduced the loss function to less than 0.3 and the RMSE and MSE to less than 0.2, which demonstrated a low error rate during processing.展开更多

文摘Fixed-time synchronization(FTS)of delayed memristor-based neural networks(MNNs)with discontinuous activations is studied in this paper. Both continuous and discontinuous activations are considered forMNNs.And the mixed delays which are closer to reality are taken into the system.Besides, two kinds of control schemes are proposed, including feedback and adaptive control strategies.Based on some lemmas, mathematical inequalities and the designed controllers,a few synchronization criteria are acquired. Moreover, the upper bound of settling time(ST)which is independent of the initial values is given. Finally, the feasibility of our theory is attested by simulation examples.

文摘In this paper,a local discontinuous Galerkin(LDG)scheme for the time-fractional diffusion equation is proposed and analyzed. The Caputo time-fractional derivative(of orderα,with 0<α<1)is approximated by a finite difference method with an accuracy of order3-α,and the space discretization is based on the LDG method. For the finite difference method,we summarize and supplement some previous work by others, and apply it to the analysis of the convergence and stability of the proposed scheme. The optimal error estimate is obtained in the L2norm,indicating that the scheme has temporal(3-α)th-order accuracy and spatial(k+1)th-order accuracy, where k denotes the highest degree of a piecewise polynomial in discontinuous finite element space. The numerical results are also provided to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the considered scheme.
文摘The complex structure and strong heterogeneity of advanced nuclear reactor systems pose challenges for high-fidelity neutron-shielding calculations. ThorSNIPE, with a multithreaded parallel upwind sweep algorithm, has good reliability, stability, and high efficiency, making it suitable for complex shielding calculations.
文摘In this paper,a new strategy for a sub-element-based shock capturing for discontinuous Galerkin(DG)approximations is presented. The idea is to interpret a DG element as a col-lection of data and construct a hierarchy of low-to-high-order discretizations on this set of data, including a first-order finite volume scheme up to the full-order DG scheme. The dif-ferent DG discretizations are then blended according to sub-element troubled cell indicators, resulting in a final discretization that adaptively blends from low to high order within a single DG element. The goal is to retain as much high-order accuracy as possible, even in simula-tions with very strong shocks,as,e.g.,presented in the Sedov test. The framework retains the locality of the standard DG scheme and is hence well suited for a combination with adaptive mesh refinement and parallel computing. The numerical tests demonstrate the sub-element adaptive behavior of the new shock capturing approach and its high accuracy.
文摘Fourier continuation(FC)is an approach used to create periodic extensions of non-periodic functions to obtain highly-accurate Fourier expansions. These methods have been used in partial differential equation(PDE)-solvers and have demonstrated high-order convergence and spectrally accurate dispersion relations in numerical experiments.Discontinuous Galerkin(DG)methods are increasingly used for solving PDEs and,as all Galerkin formulations, come with a strong framework for proving the stability and the convergence. Here we propose the use of FC in forming a new basis for the DG framework.
文摘In this study, the boundary-value problem with eigenvalue parameter generated by the differential equation with discontinuous coefficients and boundary conditions which contains not only endpoints of the considered interval, but also point of discontinuity and linear functionals is investigated. So, the problem is not pure boundary-value. The authors single out a class of linear functionals and find simple algebraic conditions on coefficients, which garantee the existence of innnit number eigenvalues. Also the asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues are found.

文摘The key-blocks are the main reason accounting for structural failure in discontinuous rock slopes, and automated identification of these block types is critical for evaluating the stability conditions. In addition, the proposed model reduced the loss function to less than 0.3 and the RMSE and MSE to less than 0.2, which demonstrated a low error rate during processing.

文摘The Niumiangou landslide was the largest landslide triggered by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, which was significantly affected by the amplification effect of seismic acceleration. The ringshear experiments indicated that the materials in the source area of the Niumiangou landslide were subjected to friction degradation under a big shear displacement, which may result in rapid movement of the landslide. In order to better understand the landslide movement and study the effect of the friction degradation on movement mechanisms, the dynamic process of Niumiangou landslide was simulated with a new numerical method, which combines the finite difference method(FDM)and the discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA).First, the FDM was used to study the initiation time, amplification effect and velocity of the landslide.Afterwards, these initiation velocities were applied to the blocks in the DDA model by corresponding coordination in the FDM model.A displacementdependent friction model of the sliding surface was incorporated into DDA code to further understand the kinetic behavior of the landslide. The results show that the displacement-dependent friction strongly decreases the friction coefficient of sliding surface under a big displacement, which can obviously promote the run-out and velocity of landslide. The model output well matches the topographic map formed by the landslide. This implies that the proposed model can be applied to the simulation of earthquake-induced landslides with amplification effect, and the friction degradation model is important to clarify the movement mechanism of high-speed and long-distance landslides.

文摘The discrete ordinates(S N)method requires numerous angular unknowns to achieve the desired accu-racy for shielding calculations involving strong anisotropy. Our objective is to develop an angular adaptive algorithm in the S N method to automatically optimize the angular distribution and minimize angular discretization errors with lower expenses. The proposed method enables linear dis-continuous finite element quadrature sets over an icosahe-dron to vary their quadrature orders in a one-twentieth sphere so that fine resolutions can be applied to the angular domains that are important. An error estimation that operates in conjunction with the spherical harmonics method is developed to determine the locations where more refinement is required. The adaptive quadrature sets are applied to three duct problems, including the Kobayashi benchmarks and the IRI-TUB research reactor, which emphasize the ability of this method to resolve neutron streaming through ducts with voids. The results indicate that the performance of the adaptive method is more effi-cient than that of uniform quadrature sets for duct transport problems. Our adaptive method offers an appropriate placement of angular unknowns to accurately integrate angular fluxes while reducing the computational costs in terms of unknowns and run times.

文摘An h-adaptive method is developed for high-order discontinuous Galerkin methods(DGM)to solve the laminar compressible Navier-Stokes(N-S)equations on unstructured mesh. The vorticity is regarded as the indicator of adaptivity. The elements where the vorticity is larger than a pre-defined upper limit are refined, and those where the vorticity is smaller than a pre-defined lower limit are coarsened if they have been refined.A high-order geometric approximation of curved boundaries is adopted to ensure the accuracy.Numerical results indicate that highly accurate numerical results can be obtained with the adaptive method at relatively low expense.
