The nutritional requirements of pet rabbits have been assessed, although such assessments require evaluation throughout the rabbit life span. The present study was conducted under a cecotrophy prevention program with young and adult rabbits. Six male Dutch rabbits were housed individually in a dormitory-type cage, and they were randomly fed graded levels of dietary methionine and threonine, at ratios of 4:0, 3:1, 2:2, 1:3, and 0:4 mixed with two types of feed, 4:0 and 0:4. Four days after switching diets and 4 hrs after starting morning feeding, approximately one milliliter of blood was collected from the vein of the ear. Free amino acid concentrations in the plasma were determined with a high-speed amino acid analyzer. Plasma concentrations of methionine and threonine compared to dietary methionine and threonine levels are shown in young rabbits. The plasma concentration of methionine remained constant at a low level and then increased linearly. The intersection was estimated as 0.16 g/d. In the same manner, the intersection of the plasma threonine value was estimated as 0.27 g/d. These values were calculated as 0.27% and 0.47% of the diets, respectively. In the case of adult rabbits, the baseline was not obtained for dietary methionine and threonine levels. The methionine requirement was estimated as 0.11 g/d. The threonine requirement was estimated as 0.22 g/d. These values were calculated as 0.15% and 0.30% of the diets, respectively. In comparison with young and adult rabbits, both methionine and threonine showed a low baseline level in young rabbits, while their variations in plasma levels of adult rabbits were not determined. The requirement of both amino acids in young rabbits is higher than that in adult rabbits. The dietary values of both amino acids in young rabbits were also higher than those in adult rabbits. Small pet-type adult rabbits required lower amino acid levels than domestic-type rabbits.展开更多

We introduce a natural cost allocation to the soccer teams, based in a natural manner on the sponsorships of fans. The game theoretic approach is twofold. On the one hand, an appropriate cost game called “fan data cost game” is developed and on the other, it is shown that the former natural cost allocation agrees with the solution concept called “nucleolus” of the fan data cost game.展开更多
BACKGROUND Displaced aggression occurs when a person encounters a provoking situation,is unable or unwilling to retaliate against the original provocateur,and subsequently aggresses against a target that is not the so...BACKGROUND Displaced aggression occurs when a person encounters a provoking situation,is unable or unwilling to retaliate against the original provocateur,and subsequently aggresses against a target that is not the source of the initial provocation.The displaced aggression questionnaire(DAQ)was developed to measure individual differences in the tendency to displace aggression.AIM To develop a Dutch version of the DAQ and examine relationships between the DAQ and novel individual differences.METHODS The Dutch version of the DAQ was created using a back-translation procedure.Undergraduate students(n=413)participated in the current study.The questionnaires were administered online.RESULTS The results confirmed the original three-factor structure and showed good reliability and validity.We also found differential relationships between trait displaced aggression,social anxiety and cognitive distortions.CONCLUSION The results may indicate that distinct patterns exist in the development of the different dimensions of trait displaced aggression.This study adds to the growing cross-cultural literature showing the robustness of trait displaced aggression in several different cultures.展开更多

National slur is a linguistic form expressing unequal treatment of one ethnic group by another.It is the direct result of national xenophobia,which is usually formed through semantic degradation by giving nicknames or...National slur is a linguistic form expressing unequal treatment of one ethnic group by another.It is the direct result of national xenophobia,which is usually formed through semantic degradation by giving nicknames or derogatory terms and making proverbs.The associative meaning of a nation-specific word is often rendered to give insult to this ethnic group in confrontation or opposition with the nation in dominance of their shared language.This paper revolves around the formation,application,cultural connotation,and the proper understanding of national slurs on Dutch.After a thorough analysis of national slurs on Dutch as well as a careful induction and deduction about words of offensive nationality concerning "Dutch",the perjoration of word meaning in Dutch expressions can be clearly pictured in this paper.Thus,the national slurs on Dutch can reveal itself more profoundly.Born the cultural awareness of national slur in mind under such a pretext,special attention can be adequately given in understanding and conveying the cultural connotation of Dutch expressions.Therefore,the study of national slurs on Dutch will effectively facilitate cultural communication.展开更多
