Previously, Kaluza-Klein theory dealt with the unification, but it has not yet been established as a complete theory. The main reason for this is that Kaluza-Klein theory has various contradictions due to the use of a 5-dimensional metric tensor. In this paper, unlike the conventional method, various equations related to gravitational and electromagnetic force are derived without any contradiction by processing equations having gauge symmetry within a 4-dimensional range. In this process, we propose that Maxwell’s equations for the electromagnetic force are expressed more simply and implicitly than the existing tensor form. Using the gauge symmetry, it shows that electromagnetic force can exist in single metric tensor along with gravity. In addition, since geodesic equations can be derived in the form of coordinate transformation, it has been shown that they are consistent with the existing equations. As a result, it has shown that they are consistent with the existing physical equations without contradiction.展开更多

Based on the Einstein field equations in general relativity, we establish a general formulation for determining the metric tensor of the Einstein manifold that represents a physical field in terms of the energy-momentum tensor that characterises the physical field. As illustrations, we first apply the general formulation to represent the perfect fluid as Einstein manifold. However, from the established relation between the metric tensor and the energy-momentum tensor, we show that if the trace of the energy-momentum tensor associated with a physical field is equal to zero then the corresponding physical field cannot be represented as an Einstein manifold. This situation applies to the electromagnetic field since the trace of the energy-momentum of the electromagnetic field vanishes. Nevertheless, we show that a system that consists of the electromagnetic field and non-interacting charged particles can be represented as an Einstein manifold since the trace of the corresponding energy-momentum of the system no longer vanishes. As a further investigation, we show that it is also possible to represent physical fields as maximally symmetric spaces of constant scalar curvature.展开更多

Pulsed electromagnetic field(PEMF) reportedly promotes the proliferation and neuronal differentiation of BMSCs. Low-frequency PEMF can induce the neuronal differentiation of BMSCs in the absence of nerve growth factors. This study was designed to investigate the effects of low-frequency PEMF pretreatment on the proliferation and function of BMSCs and the effects of low-frequency PEMF pre-treated BMSCs on the regeneration of injured peripheral nerve using in vitro and in vivo experiments. In in vitro experiments, quantitative DNA analysis was performed to determine the proliferation of BMSCs, and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction was performed to detect S100(Schwann cell marker), glial fibrillary acidic protein(astrocyte marker), and brain-derived neurotrophic factor and nerve growth factor(neurotrophic factors) m RNA expression. In the in vivo experiments, rat models of crush-injured mental nerve established using clamp method were randomly injected with low-frequency PEMF pretreated BMSCs, unpretreated BMSCs or PBS at the injury site(1 × 106 cells). Di I-labeled BMSCs injected at the injury site were counted under the fluorescence microscope to determine cell survival. One or two weeks after cell injection, functional recovery of the injured nerve was assessed using the sensory test with von Frey filaments. Two weeks after cell injection, axonal regeneration was evaluated using histomorphometric analysis and retrograde labeling of trigeminal ganglion neurons. In vitro experiment results revealed that low-frequency PEMF pretreated BMSCs proliferated faster and had greater m RNA expression of growth factors than unpretreated BMSCs. In vivo experiment results revealed that compared with injection of unpretreated BMSCs, injection of low-frequency PEMF pretreated BMSCs led to higher myelinated axon count and axon density and more Di I-labeled neurons in the trigeminal ganglia, contributing to rapider functional recovery of injured mental nerve. These findings suggest that low-frequency PEMF pretreatment is a promising approach to enhance the efficacy of cell therapy for peripheral nerve injury repair.展开更多

To study the mechanism of jet formation driven by electromagnetic force, we considered the current skin effect and the characteristics of electromagnetic loading and established a coupling model of "ElectriceMagnetic eForce" and the theoretical model of jet formation under electromagnetic force. The jet formation and penetration of conical and trumpet liners have been calculated. Then, a numerical simulation of liner collapse under electromagnetic force, jet generation, and the stretching motion were performed using an ANSYS multiphysics processor. The calculated jet velocity, jet shape, and depth of penetration were consistent with the experimental results, with a relative error of less than 10%. In addition, we calculated the jet formation of different curvature trumpet liners driven by the same loading condition and obtained the influence rule of the curvature of the liner on jet formation. Results show that the theoretical model and the ANSYS multiphysics numerical method can effectively calculate the jet formation of liners driven by electromagnetic force, and in a certain range, the greater the curvature of the liner is, the greater the jet velocity is.展开更多

Effects of low frequency electromagnetic field on surface quality, microstructure and hot-tearing tendency of Φ500 mm ZK60 magnesium alloy billets were investigated. The results showed that with the application of the low frequency electromagnetic field, the surface quality of the ZK60 magnesium alloy billets is markedly improved and the depth of cold fold is decreased. The microstructure of the billets is also significantly refined. Besides, the distribution of the grain size is relatively uniform from the billet surface towards its center, where the average grain size is 42 μm at surface and 50 μm at center. It also shows that the hot-tearing tendency of DC semi-continuous casting ZK60 magnesium alloy billets is significantly reduced under low frequency electromagnetic field.展开更多

As a result, it has shown that they are consistent with the existing physical equations without contradiction.

文摘This paper systematically studies the flashover probability of wind turbine blade lightning arrester and the impact of strong electromagnetic pulses on the local and surrounding wind turbines during lightning strikes. The research results indicate that the flashover probability of direct lightning strikes by the wind turbine blade lightning arrester is almost negligible, and the strong electromagnetic pulse of wind turbine blade during lightning strikes has a serious impact on the electronic equipment of the machine, while the impact on the surrounding wind turbine is relatively small. At the same time, the calculation formula for the reflection of lightning current on the carbon brush between the wind turbine hub and the engine compartment during the flashing of the wind turbine blades is provided, and the calculation method for calculating the spatial gradient distribution of electromagnetic field intensity using Biot-Savart Law theorem is applied. The limitations of using wind turbine blades for lightning protection are pointed out,and a technical route for achieving wind turbine lightning safety is proposed, which can be used as a reference for wind turbine lightning protection technicians.

文摘Non-thermal effects of direct electric fields and alternating electromagnetic fields(EMF)have been successfully used in a number of studies and applications in agriculture and biotechnology.Among different kinds of high strength EMF generators, the Tesla transformer(TT)is known as a widely applied, low cost, and troubleproof device, which generates EMF in the range of 2-8 MHz.Despite of a number of developed and perspective applications of high strength EMFs in agriculture and biotechnology, the EMFs generated by TT,as well as the 1-50 MHz range of high strength EMF still remain unexplored in the fields of plant physiology, ultrastructure studies and biochemistry. In this work,we have shown that TT-EMFs(4 MHz)induced fast stem and petiole bending, disappearance of cell organelles, vacuolar membranes, and increase of a non-photochemical chlorophyll fluorescence quenching in petioles. It is intriguing that such fatal effects can be evoked in plants by EMFs which are well known as harmless for man at the applied strength and frequency.

文摘The potential of clectromagnetic ficlds(EMFs)for discase treatment and health enhancement has been actively pursued over the recent decades. This review first provides a general introduction about natural EMFs and related biological effcts. Then the recent progress on the EMF treatment of some common diseases(such as cancer, diabetes, wound healing and neurological diseases, etc.)has been carefully reviewed and summarized.Yet,the blindness on the selection of therapeutic EMF parameters still hinders the broad application ofEMF therapy. Moreover, the unclear mechanism of EMF function and poor reproducibility of experimental rcsults also remain big challenges in the field of bioclectromagnetics.Bionics is a useful methodology that gains inspiration from nature to serve human life and industry. We have discussed the feasibility of applying bionic approach on the selection of the rapeutic EMFs,which is based on thefindings of natural EMFs.Finally,we advocate that the detailed information of EMFs and biological samples should be thoroughly reorded in future research and reported in publications. In addition, the publication of studies with negative results should also be allowed.

文摘The formation of charged pion condensate in anti-parallel electromagnetic fields and in the presence of the isospin chemical potential is studied in the two-flavor Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. The method of Schwinger proper time is extended to explore the quantities in the off-diagonal flavor space,i.e.the charged pion.In this framework,π^± are treated as bound states of quarks and not as point-like charged particles. The isospin chemical potential plays the role of a trigger for charged pion condensation. We obtain the associated effective potential as a function of the strength of the electromagnetic fields and find that it contains a sextic term which possibly induces a weak first order phase transition. The dependence of pion condensation on model parameters is investigated.

文摘Distributions of electromagnetic fields and induced forced flow inside a metal melt are crucial to understand the grain refinement of the metal driven by pulsed magneto-oscillation(PMO).In the present study,PMO-induced electromagnetic fields and forced flow in Ga-20 wt%In-12 wt%Sn liquid metal have been systematically investigated by performing numerical simulations and corresponding experimental measurements. The numerical simulations have been confirmed by magnetic and melt flow measurements.According to the simulated distribution of electromagnetic fields under the application of PMO,the strongest magnetic field, electric eddy current and Lorentz force with inward radial direction inside the melt are concentrated adjacent the sidewall of cylindrical melt at the cross section of middle height of coil.As a result,a global forced flow throughout the whole cylindrical column filled with Ga-20 wt%In-12 wt%Snmelt is initiated with a flow structure of two pair of symmetric vortexring. The PMO-induced electromagnetic fields and forced flow in Al-7 wt%Si melt have been numerically simulated. The contribution of electromagnetic fields and forced flow to the grain refinement of Al-7 wt%Sialloy under the application of PMO is discussed. It indicates that the forced flow may play a key role in the grain size reduction.

文摘The effects of directional solidification parameters and the coupling of directional solidification parameters and alternating electromagnetic fields on separation and enrichment of the C54–TiSi2 phase were investigated in a directionally solidified hypoeutectic Ti–65 wt.%Si alloy. The results indicated that by increasing the pull-down velocity at a given position within the ingot, the cooling rate, growth rate, and temperature gradient of ingot could be increased. At a pull-down velocity near 5μm/s,the temperature gradient, cooling rate, and growth rate decreased with increasing the thickness of the C54–TiSi2-rich layer.Electromagnetic fields enhanced mass transfer at pull-down velocities of 5,10,15,and 20μm/s,with resulting enriched layer thicknesses of 15,10,10,and 5 mm,respectively.By increasing the percentage of Ti in the Ti–Si alloy from 25 to 35 wt.%,the thickness of the C54–TiSi2-rich layer was increased from 2.5 to 3.3 cm.However, the maximum C54–TiSi2 content obtained experimentally in this layer decreased from 92.06 to 79.49 mass%.
文摘In this work we investigate the possibility to represent physical fields as Einstein manifold. As a further investigation, we show that it is also possible to represent physical fields as maximally symmetric spaces of constant scalar curvature.
文摘The intent of this paper is to analyze the electromagnetic signature of stator winding inter-turn short-circuit fault in a closed loop speed controlled Induction Motor(IM)employing Finite Element Method.Stator winding short-circuit nearly covers 21%of faults in IM.Diagnosing the inter-turn fault at an incipient stage is one of the challenging task in the area of fault detection of IM to prevent crucial damages in industrial applications. Also detecting the faults in inverter fed IM under variable speed applications under varying load is one of the major issues in industrial drives. As the signatures of electromagnetic field contains the entire data in association with the location of rotor, stator and mechanical parts of the motor,a regular monitoring of fields in the airgap can be used to diagnose the inter-turn fault in the stator winding of IM.In this direction,an IM is modeled with several inter-turn fault severities like 30 turns,15 turns,5 turns&1 turn short using ANSYS Maxwell FEA tool and coupled with ANSYS Simplorer for loading arrangements. The PWM inverter with closed loop speed controlled strategy is implemented in Matlab Simulink and co-simulated with ANSYS Simplorer to integrate all the components in one common simulation platform environment for accurate design&analysis for realistic simulation.Several electromagnetic variables like flux density, flux lines and airgap flux density distribution over the machine are analyzed. The spatial FFT spectrum of radial component of flux density in the airgap contains the information related to the diagnosis of inter-turn fault at the incipient stage.

文摘The propagation of the lightning-radiated electromagnetic field along the real irregular terrain around Yangzhou Direction Finder(DF)site(119°42′E,32°39′N)and Nanjing DF site(118°46′E,32°03′N)of Jiangsu Province in China is estimated. The results show that the rough irregular terrain results in the rapid magnitude attenuation and the increase of the rise-time of the field waveform. For example, for the Yangzhou DF site as the circumference of a radius of 45 km,the root-mean-squared height(RMSH)of the real irregular terrain varies from 7 to 33 m;the extra field attenuation relative to the ideal ground surface ranges from 1%to 11%,and the extra rise-time increment varies from 0.1 to 0.6μs.Therefore,the extracted current peak of lightning return stroke may be underestimated from the remotely measured electromagnetic field, and the error varies along with different azimuths.

文摘Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs) have been shown to promote the regeneration of injured peripheral nerves. These findings suggest that low-frequency PEMF pretreatment is a promising approach to enhance the efficacy of cell therapy for peripheral nerve injury repair.

文摘The use of a shaped liner driven by electromagnetic force is a new means of forming jets. Results show that the theoretical model and the ANSYS multiphysics numerical method can effectively calculate the jet formation of liners driven by electromagnetic force, and in a certain range, the greater the curvature of the liner is, the greater the jet velocity is.

文摘The low frequency electromagnetic field was applied during direct chill(DC) semi-continuous casting of the ZK60 magnesium alloy billets. It also shows that the hot-tearing tendency of DC semi-continuous casting ZK60 magnesium alloy billets is significantly reduced under low frequency electromagnetic field.
