In this study, we propose a compressive imaging method based on multi-scale modulation and reconstruction in the spatial frequency domain. Theoretical analysis and simulation show the relation between the measurement matrix resolution and compressive sensing(CS)imaging quality. The matrix design is improved to provide multi-scale modulations, followed by individual reconstruction of images of different spatial frequencies. Compared with traditional single-scale CS imaging, the multi-scale method provides high quality imaging in both high and low frequencies, and effectively decreases the overall reconstruction error.Experimental results confirm the feasibility of this technique, especially at low sampling rate. The method may thus be helpful in promoting the implementation of compressive imaging in real applications.展开更多

This paper introduces a formula for the convolution of two rational functions in the frequency domain by two new methods. The first method involves a partial fraction expansion of the rational transfer functions where the problem gets reduced to the sum of the convolution of the partial fractions of the two functions, each of which can be solved by a new formula. Since the calculation of the roots of a high-order polynomial can be very time-consuming, we also demonstrate new methods for performing the convolution without calculating these roots or undergoing partial fraction expansion. The convolution of two rational Laplace transform denominators can be calculated using their resultant, while that of the two rational Z-transform transfer functions can be found using Newton’s identities. The numerator can be easily found by multiplying the numerator with the initial values of the power series of the result.展开更多

The metho...This paper proposes a frequency domain based methodology to analyse the influence of High Voltage Direct Current(HVDC) configurations and system parameters on the travelling wave behaviour during a DC fault. The method allows us to gain deeper understanding of these influencing parameters. In the literature, the majority of DC protection algorithms essentially use thefirst travelling waves initiated by a DC fault for fault discrimination due to the stringent time constraint in DC grid protection. However, most protection algorithms up to now have been designed based on extensive time domain simulations using one specific test system. Therefore, general applicability or adaptability to different configurations and system changes is not by default ensured, and it is difficult to gain in-depth understanding of the influencing parameters through time domain simulations. In order to analyse the first travelling wave for meshed HVDC grids, voltage and current wave transfer functions with respect to the incident voltage wave are derived adopting Laplace domain based component models. The step responses obtained from the voltage transfer functions are validated by comparison against simulations using a detailed model implemented in PSCADTM. Then, the influences of system parameters such as the number of parallel branches, HVDC grid configurations and groundings on the first travelling wave are investigated by analysing the voltage and current transfer functions.展开更多

Such uncertainties are usually modeled as stochastic variables obeying specific distributions by neglecting the temporal correlations. Conventional approaches to hedge the negative effects caused by such uncertainties are thus hard to pursue a trade-off between computation efficiency and optimality. As an alternative, the theory of stochastic process can naturally model temporal correlation in closed forms. Attracted by this feature, our research group has been conducting thorough researches in the past decade to introduce stochastic processes within renewable power systems. This paper summarizes our works from the perspective of both the frequency domain and the time domain, provides the tools for the analysis and control of power systems under a unified framework of stochastic processes, and discusses the underlying reasons that stochastic process-based approaches can perform better than conventional approaches on both computational efficiency and optimality. These work may shed a new light on the research of analysis, control and operation of renewable power systems. Finally, this paper outlooks the theoretic developments of stochastic processes in future’s renewable power systems.展开更多

The numerator can be easily found by multiplying the numerator with the initial values of the power series of the result.

文摘Wheat ear counting is a prerequisite for the evaluation of wheat yield.A wheat ear counting method based on frequency domain decomposition is proposed in this study to improve the accuracy of wheat yield estimation. The frequency domain decomposition of wheat ear image is completed by multiscale support value filter(MSVF)combined with improved sampled contourlet transform(ISCT).Support Vector Machine(SVM)is the classic classification and regression algorithm of machine learning.MSVF based on this has strong frequency domain filtering and generalization ability, which can effectively remove the complex background, while the multi-direction characteristics of ISCT enable it to represent the contour and texture information of wheat ears.In order to improve the level of wheat yield prediction,MSVF-ISCT method is used to decompose the ear image in multiscale and multi direction in frequency domain, reduce the interference of irrelevant information, and generate the sub-band image with more abundant information components of ear feature information. Then, the ear feature is extracted by morphological operation and maximum entropy threshold segmentation, and the skeleton thinning and corner detection algorithms are used to count the results. The number of wheat ears in the image can be accurately counted.Experiments show that compared with the traditional algorithms based on spatial domain, this method significantly improves the accuracy of wheat ear counting, which can provide guidance and application for the field of agricultural precision yield estimation.
文摘The heat conduction under fast external excitation exists in many experiments measuring the thermal conductivity in solids, which is described by the phonon Boltzmann equation,i.e.,the Callaway’s model with dual relaxation times.Such a kinetic system has two spatial Knudsen numbers related to the resistive and normal scatterings, and one temporal Knudsen number determined by the external oscillation frequency. Thus,it is a challenge to develop an efficient numerical method. Here we first propose the general synthetic iterative scheme(GSIS)to solve the phonon Boltzmann equation, with the fast-converging and asymptotic-preserving properties:(i)the solution can be found within dozens of iterations for a wide range of Knudsen numbers and frequencies, and(ii)the solution is accurate when the spatial cell size in the bulk region is much larger than the phonon mean free path. Then,we investigate how the heating frequency affects the heat conduction in different transport regimes.

文摘This paper proposes a frequency domain based methodology to analyse the influence of High Voltage Direct Current(HVDC) configurations and system parameters on the travelling wave behaviour during a DC fault. Then, the influences of system parameters such as the number of parallel branches, HVDC grid configurations and groundings on the first travelling wave are investigated by analysing the voltage and current transfer functions.

文摘With the increasing penetration of renewable energy resources(RESs), the uncertainties of volatile renewable generations significantly affect the power system operation. Finally, this paper outlooks the theoretic developments of stochastic processes in future’s renewable power systems.

文摘A novel method of measuring non-uniform strain along a fiber Bragg grating(FBG)using optical frequency domain reflectometry(OFDR)is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. This method can overcome the problems of traditional non-uniform strain measurement methods for FBGs,i.e.,the likelihood of chirping and multiple peaking in the spectrum when FBG is subjected to inhomogeneous strain fields.Wavelength interrogation is realized by OFDR with a narrow-line-width tunable laser as the optical source. When non-uniform strain distributions along areas adjacent to structural damage are measured by this method, good agreement is obtained between measurements and theoretical simulation results.
