In this paper,we investigate the interfacial behavior of a thin one-dimensional(1D)hexagonal quasicrystal(QC)film bonded on an elastic substrate subjected to a mismatch strain due to thermal variation.The contact interface is assumed to be nonslipping,with both perfectly bonded and debonded boundary conditions.The Fourier transform technique is adopted to establish the integral equations in terms of interfacial shear stress,which are solved as a linear algebraic system by approximating the unknown phonon interfacial shear stress via the series expansion of the Chebyshev polynomials.The expressions are explicitly obtained for the phonon interfacial shear stress,internal normal stress,and stress intensity factors(SIFs).Finally,based on numerical calculations,we briefly discuss the effects of the material mismatch,the geometry of the QC film,and the debonded length and location on stresses and SIFs. 展开更多

Compared with the traditional heteroatom doping,employing heterostructure is a new modulating approach for carbon-based electrocatalysts.Herein,a facile ball milling-assisted route is proposed to synthesize porous carbon materials composed of abundant graphene/hexagonal boron nitride(G/h-BN)heterostructures.Metal Ni powder and nanoscale h-BN sheets are used as a catalytic substrate/hard template and“nucleation seed”for the formation of the heterostructure,respectively.As-prepared G/h-BN heterostructures exhibit enhanced electrocatalytic activity toward H_(2)O_(2) generation with 86%-95%selectivity at the range of 0.45-0.75 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)and a positive onset potential of 0.79 versus RHE(defined at a ring current density of 0.3 mA cm^(-2))in the alkaline solution.In a flow cell,G/h-BN heterostructured electrocatalyst has a H_(2)O_(2) production rate of up to 762 mmol g_(catalyst)^(-1) h^(-1) and Faradaic efficiency of over 75%during 12 h testing,superior to the reported carbon-based electrocatalysts.The density functional theory simulation suggests that the B atoms at the interface of the G/h-BN heterostructure are the key active sites.This research provides a new route to activate carbon catalysts toward highly active and selective O_(2)-to-H_(2)O_(2) conversion. 展开更多

However, the size the hexagonal boron nitride films are limited to the size of growth chamber, which indicates a lower production efficiency. In this paper, the utilization efficiency of growth chamber is highly improved by alternately stacking multiple pieces of Cu foils and carbon fiber surface felt with porous structure. Uniform and continuous hexagonal boron nitride films are prepared on Cu foils through chemical vapor deposition utilizing ammonia borane as the precursor. This work develops a simple and practicable method for high-throughput preparation of hexagonal boron nitride films, which could contribute to the industrial application of hexagonal boron nitride. . 展开更多

In order to study the impacts of warhead geometry and initiation pattern on the lethality of aimable warhead,multi-point synchronous initiated hexagonal prism and cylindrical warheads were compared through numerical simulation,combined with theoretical formulas of fragment deceleration and target plugging.Enhancements of fragment velocity,kinetic energy and density toward the target and target destructions were analyzed.The results show that hexagonal prism warhead can produce dense fragment beams and enhance average velocity and kinetic energy with asymmetric eight-point initiation by 24.13% and54.52%respectively,which are higher than those of the isometric or same weight cylindrical warhead.The effective fragments are still relatively concentrated in an area of 8m×2mfor the hexagonal prism warhead when the distance between warhead and target is 40m. 展开更多

In order to improve the crashworthiness of thin-walled columns, the energy absorption characteristics of three columns under quasi-static axial crushing loads were analyzed through LS-DYNA. Numerical results show that the energy absorption capability of the bitubular hexagonal columns with middle to middle(MTM) ribs is the best, followed by the bitubular hexagonal columns with corner to corner(CTC) ribs and the bitubular hexagonal columns without(NOT) ribs, respectively. Then, the MTM rib was optimized by using multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm. Through the analysis of the Pareto front for specific energy absorption(SEA, A_(se)) and peak crushing force(PCF, F_(pc)), it is found that there is a vertex on the Pareto front. The vertex has the design parameters of t_1=1.2 mm, t_2=1.2 mm, A_(se)=11.3729 k J/kg, F_(pc)=235.8491 kN. When the PCF is in a certain size, on the left of the vertex, the point with t_2=1.2 mm has the biggest SEA, meanwhile on the right of the vertex, the point with t_1=1.2 mm has the biggest SEA. Finally, the global sensitivity analysis was conducted to investigate the effect of two design parameters. The result is obtained that both SEA and PCF for MTM are more sensitive to t_1 rather than t_2 in the design domain. 展开更多

Several synthesizing factors, such as pH value, citric acid/metal ion ratio, and dispersion agent were mainly discussed. Fine and pure powders of BaFe12O19 were optimally synthesized under the conditions of the pH value is 7 and citric acid/metal ion ratio is 3. The X-ray diffraction analysis demonstrates that no impurity is observed in the synthesized powders after presintered at 450 ℃ and calcinated at 1100 ℃. SEM observations indicate that the size of the synthesized BaFe12O19 powders is small and uniform distribution. It can also be learned from SEM that the co-synthesizing sol-gel method can be in favor of the formation of finer particles. 展开更多

Free transverse vibration of monolayer graphene,boron nitride(BN), and silicon carbide(Si C) sheets is investigated by using molecular dynamics finite element method.Eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes of these three sheets in rectangular shape are studied with different aspect ratios with respect to various boundary conditions. It is found that aspect ratios and boundary conditions affect in a similar way on natural frequencies of graphene, BN, and Si C sheets. Natural frequencies in all modes decrease with an increase of the sheet's size. Graphene exhibits the highest natural frequencies, and Si C sheet possesses the lowest ones. Missing atoms have minor effects on natural frequencies in this study. 展开更多

In this work,we synthesized monodispersed hexagonal Ag nanoprisms in high yields in a system of poly(vinylpyrrolidone)(PVP)in N-methylpyrrolidone(NMP).A blue shift occurred and was strongly dependent on the thickness of the uniform Ag nanoprisms,which had almost the same radial area.When the Ag nanoprisms grew thicker,their in-plane dipole resonance peaks markedly shifted toward shorter wavelengths(i.e.,blue shift).PVP played a critical role of favoring vertical growth of the Ag nanoplates,preventing aggregation,and inducing the formation of Ag hexagonal nanoprisms(HNPs)through the transformation from thin Ag triangular nanoprisms(TNPs).Compared with similar previous research,the present study provides quite uniform Ag hexagonal nanoplates,which makes the blue shift related more solely and distinctly to the thickness of the Ag nanoprisms.The findings of this work provide a new perspective toward understanding the unique optical characteristics of Ag HNPs with different aspect ratios. 展开更多

The dynamic behavior of two-dimensional nanostructures is important to the future application of nano devices. The vibrational behaviors of single-layered hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) are studied by molecular dynamics simulation and continuum plate model. The bending stiffness and Poisson's ratios of h-BN along zigzag direction and armchair direction are calculated. H-BN is softer compared with graphene. The continuum plate model can predict the vibration of h-BN with four edge-clamped boundary conditions well. The electric fields in different directions have obvious influence on the vibration of h-BN. The natural frequency of h-BN changes linearly with the electric field intensity along the polarization direction. The natural frequency of h-BN decreases with the increase of electric field intensity along both positive and negative nonpolarization direction. While the natural frequency of h-BN increases with the increase of electric field intensity along both positive and negative transverse electric field. 展开更多

A metal-free N-hydroxyphthalimide/hexagonal boron nitride(NHPI/h-BN)catalytic system was developed for deep oxidative desulfurization(ODS)of fuel oils.Detailed experiments find that the heterogenization process of loading NHPI on h-BN not only benefits to the dispersion and utilization of NHPI,but also can significantly promote the catalytic performance.By employing NHPI/h-BN as the catalyst,azodiisobutyronitrile(AIBN)as the metal-free initiator,a 95%conversion of dibenzothiophene(DBT)can be acquired under the reaction conditions of 120°C and atmospheric pressure with molecular oxygen(O_(2))as oxidant.Moreover,the heterogenization is convenient for the regeneration of the catalyst with>94%DBT conversion after being recycled seven times.Characterizations illustrate that the promoted catalytic activity along with the regenerability originate from the interactions between NHPI and h-BN.The catalytic mechanism study shows that molecular oxygen is readily activated by the NHPI/h-BN to form a superoxide radical(O_(2)^(·-)),which oxidize DBT to DBTO2 for desulfurization. 展开更多

Adipic acid is a dicarboxylic acid of great industrial importance,mainly used in the production of nylon-6,6 and polyurethane.The use of nitric acid as an oxidant in the industrial production of adipic acid poses significant carbon footprint to the environment.Clean adipic acid synthesis methods using a heterogeneous catalyst with H2O2 as oxidant and water as solvent have potential advantages of low catalyst cost,easy synthesis and recovery,cleanness and environmental protection.In this work,hexagonal mesoporous silicate materials were synthesized by a sol–gel method and evaluated for cyclohexanol/cyclohexanone oxidation to adipic acid.The physical and chemical properties of Fe-HMS were characterized by XRD,HR-TEM,BET and UV–Vis.The experimental results showed that Fe-HMS materials show pore sizes ranging from 2–3 nm.W-and Mo-based polyoxometalates were also evaluated and compared to the Fe-based HMS catalysts.To improve the adipic acid yield,the influence of the transition metal as well as the effect of metal loading,reaction temperature and catalyst amount on the catalytic performances of Fe-HMS have been investigated in details.When Si/Fe atomic ratio=100,Fe-HMS catalyst shows the highest activity,with a cyclohexanone conversion of 92.3%and adipic acid selectivity of 29.4%.The reaction pathway of cyclohexanone oxidation was further proposed based on experimental data. 展开更多

Heat dissipation involved safety issues are crucial for industrial applications of the high-energy density battery and fast charging technology.While traditional air or liquid cooling methods suffering from space limitation and possible leakage of electricity during charge process,emerging phase change materials as solid cooling media are of growing interest.Among them,paraffin wax(PW)with large latent heat capacity and low cost is desirable for heat dissipation and thermal management which mainly hindered by their relatively low thermal conductivity and susceptibility to leakage.Here,highly ordered and interconnected hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)networks were established via ice template method and introduced into PW to enhance the thermal conductivity.The composite with 20 wt%loading amount of h-BN can guarantee a highly ordered network and exhibited high thermal conductivity(1.86 W m^(-1) K^(-1))which was 4 times larger compared with that of random dispersed h-BN involved PW and nearly 8 times larger compared with that of bare PW.The optimal thermal conductive composites demonstrated ultrafast heat dissipation as well as leakage resistance for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),heat generated by LIBs can be effectively transferred under the working state and the surface temperature kept 6.9℃ lower at most under 2–5℃ continuous charge-discharge process compared with that of bare one which illustrated great potential for industrial thermal management. 展开更多

As an application of Eshelby tensors, the analytical expressions for the effective properties of the 1 D hexagonal quasicrystal composites are derived based on the Mori-Tanaka method. Hydrodynamic mixed convection in a lid-driven hexagonal cavity with corner heater is numerically simulated in this paper by employing finite element method. The working fluid is assigned as air with a Prandtl num-ber of 0.71 throughout the simulation. The left and right walls of the hex-agonal cavity are kept thermally insulated and the lid moves top to bottom at a constant speed U0. The top left and right walls of the enclosure are maintained at cold temperature Tc. The bottom right wall is considered with a corner heater whereas the bottom remaining part is adiabatic and inside the cavity a square shape heated block Th. The focus of the work is to investigate the effect of Hartmann number, Richardson number, Grashof number and Reynolds number on the fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics inside the enclosure. A set of graphical results is presented in terms of streamlines, isotherms, local Nusselt number, velocity profiles, temperature profiles and average Nusselt numbers. The results reveal that heat transfer rate increases with increasing Richardson number and Hartmann number. It is also observed that, Hartmann number is a good control parameter for heat transfer in fluid flow in hexagonal cavity. 展开更多

A tunable perfect absorber composed of hexagonal-arranged aluminum nano-disk array embedded in the vanadium dioxide(VO_2) film is proposed. The aim is to achieve the tunability of resonance absorption peak in the visible and near-infrared regimes. Numerical results reveal that the absorption peak achieves a large tunability of 76.6% while VO_2 undergoes a structural transition from insulator phase to metallic phase. By optimizing the structural parameters, an average absorption of 95% is achieved from 1242 to 1815 nm at the metallic phase state. In addition, the near unity absorption can be fulfilled in a wide range of incident angle(0°–60°) and under all polarization conditions. The method and results presented here would be beneficial for the design of active optoelectronic devices. 展开更多

In this paper local compressive deforming of a hexagonal tube of aluminum (JISA1050) is investigated by an electromagnetic forming. The hexagonal tubes are annealed for 1h. at 400℃, which have 55mm width with 1mm thickness, and 10mm corner edius. The deformed ation of the hexagonal tube, i.e., bead width, is 10, 15, 20mm, respectively. The magnetic flux density in the gap between the field shaper and the external surface of hexagonal tube is measured, and the result is that the magnetic flux density for a given voltage is almost identical along the gap) and decreases with increasing the gap. The profiles and the strain distribution of the hexagonal tube de- formed are affected by the change Of the charging voltage and the dimensions of a bead width. The greater compressive strum in the cireuwtrential direction is develOPed on plane part near corner,while tensile strain on the corner occurs. A metallic block is inserted inside the hexagonal tube so that uniform profile can be obtained.
