The most common approach to restrain the...Active Magnetic Bearing(AMB) is a kind of electromagnetic support that makes the rotor movement frictionless and can suppress rotor vibration by controlling the magnetic force. The most common approach to restrain the rotor vibration in AMBs is to adopt a notch filter or adaptive filter in the AMB controller. However, these methods cannot obtain the precise amplitude and phase of the compensation current. Thus, they are not so effective in terms of suppressing the vibrations of the fundamental and other harmonic orders over the whole speed range. To improve the vibration suppression performance of AMBs,an adaptive filter based on Least Mean Square(LMS) is applied to extract the vibration signals from the rotor displacement signal. An Iterative Search Algorithm(ISA) is proposed in this paper to obtain the corresponding relationship between the compensation current and vibration signals. The ISA is responsible for searching the compensating amplitude and shifting phase online for the LMS filter, enabling the AMB controller to generate the corresponding compensation force for vibration suppression. The results of ISA are recorded to suppress vibration using the Look-Up Table(LUT) in variable speed range. Comprehensive simulations and experimental validations are carried out in fixed and variable speed range, and the results demonstrate that by employing the ISA, vibrations of the fundamental and other harmonic orders are suppressed effectively.展开更多

This filter consists of an active part and a passive par...In this article, we propose a topology of a TLC-HAPF power filter as a harmonic compensator for an optimization of the pollution control of electrical networks. This filter consists of an active part and a passive part in order to reduce or limit switching losses during current injection into networks thanks to its TLC module. This topology also provides solutions dynamic performance issues, resonance and lack of compensation capacity for imbalance cases. It also offers a greater range of compensation than conventional active models which do not offer as well as an intermediate circuit voltage in the order of 105 V to 109 V relatively lower than others models (600 v). A modulated hysteresis control of this topology is therefore also developed in this article and allows to obtain a network analysis on the three phases at three levels: source side, load side, and finally at the connection of the filter to the network, allowing to specify for these different positions the value of the current spectrum and its THD at this well-defined moment.展开更多

Systems driven this way are designed to improve the quality of electric power (power quality) in industrial networks. The authors have focused on the implementation of two basic representatives of adaptive algorithms, first, the algorithm with a stochastic LMS (least mean square) gradient adaptation and then an algorithm with recursive RLS (recursive least square) optimal adaptation. The system examined by the authors can be used for non-linear loads for appliances with rapid fluctuations of the reactive and active power consumption. The proposed system adaptively reduces distortion, falls (dip) and changes in a supply voltage (flicker). Real signals for measurement were obtained at a sophisticated, three-phase experimental workplace. The results of executed experiments indicate that, with use of the certain adaptive algorithms, the examined AHC system shows very good dynamics, resulting in a much faster transition during the AHC connection-disconnection or during a change in harmonic load on the network. The actual experiments are evaluated from several points of view, mainly according to a time convergence (convergence time) and mistakes in a stable state error (steady state error) of the investigated adaptive algorithms and finally as a total harmonic distortion (THD). The proposed configuration can improves the filtering performance of the conventional active power filter, as well as simultaneously supply the power from the photovoltaic arrays to the load and utility. This paper will describe the proposed hybrid active power filter control using sliding mode with photovoltaic system. The proposed technique effectively filters harmonics under 1 kHz but also higher frequency to achieve wideband harmonics compensation. The THD of source current is reduced from 30.09% to 1.95%. The result indicates that the sliding mode controller can track the reference signals and have good dynamic characteristics.展开更多

The method improves the performance of the HAPF system by reducing the influence of detection accuracy, time delay of instruction current calculation and phase displacement of output filter. Fuzzy logic based set-point weighing algorithm is combined in the control scheme to enhance its robustness and anti-interference ability. The proposed algorithm is easy to implement for engineering applications and easy to compute. Experiment results have verified the validity of the proposed controller. Furthermore, the proposed recursive integral PI algorithm can also be applied in the control of periodic current as in AC drivers.展开更多

Based on adaptive interference canceling theory, this paper presents a new ad- aptive detection method for harmonic current, it is a continuously regulated closed-loop system, and its operating characteristics are almost independent of the parameter variations of the elements, thus it performs better than that based on traditional theory. In this paper,a hybrid passive/active vibration(HPAV)controller of a loosely connected spacecraft consisting of a servicing satellite,a target and an X-shape structure isolator is first proposed to suppress vibrations...In this paper,a hybrid passive/active vibration(HPAV)controller of a loosely connected spacecraft consisting of a servicing satellite,a target and an X-shape structure isolator is first proposed to suppress vibrations of the system when subjected to the impulsive external excitations during the on-orbit missions.The passive dynamic response of the combined system can be adjusted appropriately to achieve the desired vibration isolation performance by tuning the structural parameters of the bio-inspired X-shape structure.Moreover,the adaptive control design through dynamic scaling technique is selected as the active component to maintain high vibration isolation performance in the presence of parameter uncertainties such as mass of the satellite platform,the damping and rotation friction coefficients of the X-shape structure.Compared with the pure passive system and the traditional spring-mass-damper(SMD)isolator,the HPAV strategy witnesses lower transmissibility,smaller vibration amplitude and higher convergence rate when subjected to the post-capture impact.Numerical simulations demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed hybrid control scheme in suppressing vibrations of the free-floating spacecraft.展开更多

The virtues of sky-hook is combined with ground-hook contr...In order to improve ride comfort and handling performance of the vehicle, an adaptive hybrid control algorithm is proposed for semi-active suspension systems. The virtues of sky-hook is combined with ground-hook control strategies and a more suitable compromise for the suspension systems is chosen. The hybrid coefficient is tuned according to the longitudinal and lateral acceleration so as to improve the vehicle stability especially in high speed conditions. Damping continuous adjustable absorber is used to continuously control the damping force so as to eliminate the damping force jerk instead of traditional on-off control policy. Based on suspension stroke measured by sensors, unscented Kalman filter is designed to estimate the suspension states in real-time for the realization of hybrid control, which improves the robustness of the control strategy and is adaptive to different types of road profiles. Finally, the proposed control algorithm is validated under the following two typical road profiles: half-sine speed bump road and the random road. The simulation results indicate that the hybrid control algorithm could offer a good coordination between ride comfort and handling of the vehicle.展开更多

Active noise cancellation has become a prominent feature in contemporary in-ear personal audio devices.However,due to constraints related to component arrangement,power consumption,and manufacturing costs,most commerc...Active noise cancellation has become a prominent feature in contemporary in-ear personal audio devices.However,due to constraints related to component arrangement,power consumption,and manufacturing costs,most commercial products utilize fixed-type controller systems as the basis for their active noise control algorithms.These systems offer robust performance and a straightforward structure,which is achievable with cost-effective digital signal processors.Nonetheless,a major drawback of fixed-type controllers is their inability to adapt to changes in acoustic transfer paths,such as variations in earpiece fitting conditions.Therefore,adaptive-type active noise control systems that employ adaptive digital filters are considered as the alternative.To address the increasing system complexity,design concepts and implementation strategies are discussed with respect to actual hardware limitations.To illustrate these considerations,a case study showcasing the implementation of a filtered-x least mean square-based active noise control algorithm is presented.A commercial evaluation board accommodating a low-cost,fixed-point digital signal processor is used to simplify operation and provide programming access.The earbuds are obtained from a commercial product designed for noise cancellation.This study underscores the importance of addressing hardware constraints when implementing adaptive active noise cancellation,providing valuable insights for real-world applications.展开更多
