We select some questionnaires from the third round of High-performance manufacturing (HPM) data to construct the construct, verify the reliability and validity of the construct, extract principal components, and analyze the mediating effect by using multiple chain linear regression and structural equation model. The results show that SMIS customization has a significant impact on its performance, and this effect works through its flexibility. More specifically, it is the multiple chain mediation effect composed of data flexibility, process flexibility and system flexibility. The importance of SMIS customization and flexibility to the organization is made clear, which helps practitioners understand the internal mechanism that affects SMIS performance, so as to use limited resources to improve system performance.展开更多

The alignment between information systems (IS) and business strategy along with its implications for perceived IS effectiveness and business performance is an important question, which is rarely studied in China. Ba...The alignment between information systems (IS) and business strategy along with its implications for perceived IS effectiveness and business performance is an important question, which is rarely studied in China. Based on an empirical study, this paper summarized the significance of IS strategic alignment and its impact on business performance. This study also measured business strategy, information system strategy, and information system strategic alignment, built a conceptual model to describe the relationship between these factors, and investigated their implications for information system performance and business performance. A structural equation model was employed to test the conceptual model. Analyses of data gathered in a survey indicate that information system strategic alignment is a better predictor of business performance than business strategy or information system strategy alone, although business strategy can significantly influence business performance.展开更多
Modern vessels are designed to collect,store and communicate large quantities of ship performance and navigation information through complex onboard data handling processes.That data should be transferred to shore bas...Modern vessels are designed to collect,store and communicate large quantities of ship performance and navigation information through complex onboard data handling processes.That data should be transferred to shore based data centers for further analysis and storage.However,the associated transfer cost in large-scale data sets is a major challenge for the shipping industry,today.The same cost relates to the amount of data that are transferring through various communication networks(i.e.satellites and wireless networks),i.e.between vessels and shore based data centers.Hence,this study proposes to use an autoencoder system architecture(i.e.a deep learning approach)to compress ship performance and navigation parameters(i.e.reduce the number of parameters)and transfer through the respective communication networks as reduced data sets.The data compression is done under the linear version of an autoencoder that consists of principal component analysis(PCA),where the respective principal components(PCs)represent the structure of the data set.The compressed data set is expanded by the same data structure(i.e.an autoencoder system architecture)at the respective data center requiring further analyses and storage.A data set of ship performance and navigation parameters in a selected vessel is analyzed(i.e.data compression and expansion)through an autoencoder system architecture and the results are presented in this study.Furthermore,the respective input and output values of the autoencoder are also compared as statistical distributions and sample number series to evaluate its performance.展开更多

Remaining useful life(RUL) prognostics is a fundamental premise to perform conditionbased maintenance(CBM) for a system subject to performance degradation. Over the past decades,research has been conducted in RUL ...Remaining useful life(RUL) prognostics is a fundamental premise to perform conditionbased maintenance(CBM) for a system subject to performance degradation. Over the past decades,research has been conducted in RUL prognostics for aeroengine. However, most of the prognostics technologies and methods simply base on single parameter, making it hard to demonstrate the specific characteristics of its degradation. To solve such problems, this paper proposes a novel approach to predict RUL by means of superstatistics and information fusion. The performance degradation evolution of the engine is modeled by fusing multiple monitoring parameters, which manifest non-stationary characteristics while degrading. With the obtained degradation curve,prognostics model can be established by state-space method, and then RUL can be estimated when the time-varying parameters of the model are predicted and updated through Kalman filtering algorithm. By this method, the non-stationary degradation of each parameter is represented, and multiple monitoring parameters are incorporated, both contributing to the final prognostics. A case study shows that this approach enables satisfactory prediction evolution and achieves a markedly better prognosis of RUL.展开更多
