The successful development of response surface methodology paired with a central composite design (RSM-CCD) enabled the optimization and modelling of the adsorption process. The study investigated the individual and combined effects of three variables (pH, contact time, and initial MB dye concentration) on the adsorption of MB dye onto coconut husk cellulose. The developed RSM-CCD model exhibited a remarkable degree of precision in predicting the removal efficiency of MB dye within the specified experimental parameters. This was demonstrated by the strong regression parameters, with an R2 value of 99.79% and an adjusted R2 value of 99.6%. The study depicted that the optimal parameters for attaining a 98.8827% removal of MB dye using coconut husk cellulose were as follows: an initial MB dye concentration of 30 mg∙L−1, contact time of 120 minutes, and pH 7 at a fixed adsorbent dose of 0.5 g. The Freundlich isotherm model provided the most satisfactory description of the equilibrium adsorption isotherms, suggesting that MB dye adsorption onto coconut husk cellulose occurs on a heterogeneous surface. The experimental results demonstrated a strong agreement with the pseudo-second-order kinetics model, indicating that the number of active sites present on the cellulose adsorbent predominantly influences the adsorption process of MB dye. Additionally, the adsorbent made from coconut husk cellulose exhibited the potential to be reused, as it retained its efficiency for a maximum of three cycles of adsorption of MB dye. The results of this study show that coconut husk cellulose has the potential to be an effective and sustainable adsorbent for removing MB dye from aqueous solutions.展开更多

Isothermal techniques have been employed in highly structured equipment and living cell temperature regulators. The flow and heat properties of CuO nanofluids flowing through a moving cylindrical isothermal conduit were examined, in the presence of nanoparticles and viscous dissipation. Two-dimensional flows of an incompressible Newtonian fluid via a cylindrical conduit with uniform surface velocity and temperature were utilized. The flow’s partial differential equations were transformed to a non-dimensional form and numerically solved using a finite difference scheme built in the C++ program. The effect of nanoparticle size (0.0 to 0.6) and viscous dissipation (0, 20, 40) on heat behavior and fluid movement are examined and profiles are used to present the numerical findings. The findings revealed that decreasing the variable nanoparticle parameter increased fluid velocity, stream function, and circulation while decreasing fluid temperature. The temperature of the fluid rises in direct proportion, as the viscous dissipation factor improves. This study improves understanding of the viscous flow and heat behavior of boundary layer problems when a nanofluid is used as the heat transfer working fluid in various engineering isothermal processes such as boiling and condensation.展开更多

In isothermal method, the mass loss of samples in containers of glass and aluminum was followed in temperatures of 80, 90 and 100 ℃. The kinetic of the mass loss of the samples in the aluminum container was higher than the kinetic of it in the glass container that can be related to the effects of heat transfer and catalytic of aluminm metal. Also, the presence of impurities in grade B was due to increasing of kinetic of mass loss of it versus grade A. The non-isothermal curves were obtained in range of 30-330 ℃ at heating rates of 10,15 and 20 ℃·min^(-1).The TG/DTG data were used for determination of activation energy(E_a) of mass loss of TNT samples upon degradation by using Ozawa, Kissinger, Ozawa-Flynn-Wall(OFW) and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose(KAS) methods as model free methods. The activation energies of grades of A and B of TNT was obtained 99-120 and 66-70 kJ mol^(-1)respectively. The lower values of activation energy of the degradation reaction of grade B confirm the effect of impurities in the kinetics of mass loss of this grade.展开更多

The crystallization kinetics of Al80Ni6 Y8 Co4 Cu2 amorphous alloy shows that the precipitation of α-Al particles is the growth process controlled by diffusion of the solute elements rejected from the growing crystals. By quenching at different cooling rates, a mixed structure consisting of nanoscale α-Al particles and the remaining glass matrix or structure consisting of nanoscale particle (Al phase or Al3Ni compound) with a size of about 100nm was formed. The addition of Co elements and Cu elements to Al-Ni-Y alloy systems increases the glass formation ability of the alloy and the thermal stability of the supercooled liquid region against crystallization, which results from significant difference of atomic size, strong bonding nature among constituent elements and the low diffisivity of the solute elements due to the concentration gradient in the growing front of crystals.展开更多

Results show that Gd can refine the microstructure of AZ91 D magnesium alloy, and the optimum semi-solid AZ91 D microstructure can be achieved by adding 1.5wt.% Gd. After treated at 585 °C for 30 min, the well distributed rose-shaped and near-spherical semi-solid microstructures of AZ91D+1.5wt.%Gd alloy can be obtained. The liquid phase of the semi-solid alloy consists of three components, namely, the molten pool, the "entrapped liquid" pool and the liner liquid film which separates two neighbor particles. The solid phase is composed of two phases, the primary α-Mg particles and the α-Mg phase formed in the second stage of solidification. With the increase of holding time, melting which causes the decrease of the primary α-Mg particle size is the dominant mechanism in the initial stage while coalescence and Ostwald ripening tend to be the principles later.展开更多

The results indicate that the primary α phase changes from equiaxed grains to spherical grains gradually at semi solid temperature of 460 ℃. With increasing isothermal time, the eutectic between boundaries of α phase diffuses toward α phase, and the primary equiaxed grain arms merge and boundaries tend to disappear to form near particle grains. Further, the eutectic left on α boundaries melts to make the near particle grains separate, and form spherical structure at last. [展开更多

文摘The AZ91 D magnesium alloy containing rare earth Gd was prepared in this study, and the effect of semi-solid isothermal heat treatment on the microstructure of the alloy was investigated to obtain an optimum semi-solid structure. With the increase of holding time, melting which causes the decrease of the primary α-Mg particle size is the dominant mechanism in the initial stage while coalescence and Ostwald ripening tend to be the principles later.

文摘Microstructure evolution of processed Mg-Al-Zn alloy by equal channel angular extrusion(ECAE)in semi-solid isothermal treatment was investigated. The results show that with increasing semi-solid isothermal treatment temperature, the α phase solid grain size of processed Mg-Al-Zn alloy by ECAE increases firstly due to coarsening of α phase solid grains, then decreases due to melting of α phase solid grains. With the increase of extrusion passes during ECAE,the α phase solid grain size in the following semi-solid isothermal treatment decreases. The α phase solid grain size of processed Mg-Al-Zn alloy by ECAE under route BC is the smallest, while the α phase solid grain size of processed material by ECAE under route A is the largest. The primary mechanism of spheroid formation depends on the melting of recrystallizing boundaries and diffusion of solute atoms in the semi-solid state.

文摘Isothermal compression of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy at the deformation temperatures of 950 and 980℃,height reductions of 30% and 60%,and strain rates of 0.001,0.010,0.100 and 1.000 s-1 was conducted, wherein the variations of microstructure with strain rate were investigated. The experimental results showed that the variation of the microstructure with the strain rate under one condition was significantly different from that under another condition, which meaned that the interaction between the processing parameters was great. The optimization of the strain rate under one condition was not suitable for another condition. Therefore, selecting the forging equipment and optimizing the strain rate should be based on simultaneously considering the deformation temperature and height reduction.

文摘Since the capacity of CO2 adsorption of coal is a key factor in coal and CO2 outbursts,an experimental study was carried out on CO2 isothermal adsorption with high-pressure volumetry with dry coal samples from the No.2 coal seam in the Haishiwan Coalfield.Four different equations(Langmuir,BET,D-R and D-A) were used to fit the experimental data.We discuss adsorption mechanisms. The results show that the amount of CO2 adsorption increases rapidly under low relative pressure,i.e.,the ratio of equilibrium pressure and saturated vapor pressure, which indicates that molecular layer adsorption or micropore filling may occur in coal.No clear equilibrium state was observed on the isothermal adsorption curves under relative pressure(P /P0 ) ranging from 0 to 0.8.The fitted results show that the accuracy of the D-A equation is highest with n=1.Micropores are more developed in coal by comparing the BET equation with a pressure mercury injection method on the surface area. The D-A equation(n=1) provides the best fit.By comparing the calculated specific surface area of the BET equation and the mercury intrusion method,it is found that micropore adsorption of CO2 occupies a dominant position.
文摘The structural evolution of ZA27 alloy modified by element Zr was studied during semi solid isothermal heat treatment, and its transformation mechanism was also discussed. [

文摘The Cu/Sn-3.OAg-0.5Cu/Cu butting solder joints were fabricated to investigate the evolution of the interfacial intermetallic compound(IMC) and the degradation of the tensile strength of solder joints under the effect of electromigration(EM) and aging processes.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) results indicated that the Cu_6Sn_5 interfacial IMC presented obvious asymmetrical growth with the increase of EM time under current density of 1.78×10~4 A/cm^2 at 100℃,and the growth of anodic IMC presented a parabolic relationship with time while the cathodic IMC got thinner gradually. However,as for aging samples at 100℃ without current stressing, the Cu_6Sn_5 IMC presented a symmetrical growth with a slower rate than the anodic IMC of EM samples. The tensile results indicated that the tensile strength of the solder joints under current stress declined more drastic with time than the aging samples, and the fracture mode transformed from ductile fracture to brittle fracture quickly while the fracture mode of aging samples transformed from cup-cone shaped fracture to microporous gathering fracture in a slow way.

文摘In this study, the microstructure evolution of semi-solid Mg-10Gd-3Y-0.5Zr alloy during isothermal heat treatment has been investigated. The results show that primary particles coarsen continuously during the holding.Coarsening rate decreases with the increase of isothermal temperature. When isothermal temperature increases from 600℃ to 620℃,the dominant mechanism for coarsening changes from particle coalescence to Ostwald ripening.Equiaxed as-cast microstructure is beneficial to the semi-solid microstructure after isothermal heat treatment, which brings about the refinement and spheroidization of primary particles, and shortening of holding time.Significant modification of second phases can also be achieved after isothermal heat treatment, due to its unique solidification process. The optimum processing parameters for Mg-10Gd-3Y-0.5Zr alloy in isothermal heat treatment are isothermal temperature of 610℃-620℃ and holding time of 20-40 min.
文摘The effect of rare earth elements on the isothermal transformation and microstructures in 20Mn steel is in-vestigated by means of metallography and dilatometry.Rare earth elements decrease both the incubation periodof pro-eutectoid ferrite and the rate of pearlitic transformation. In addition, rare earth elements play a role ofreducing needle-like ferrite and the amount of pearlite, densifing the lamellar space of pearlite and enhcingsegregation of carbide in granular bainite. It is suggested that rare earth elements may decrease the interfacialenergy of grain boundary and interphase, hinder the diffusion of carbon atoms and form rare earth carbides withhigh melting point which reduce the carbon content in austenite.

文摘The reduction of ilmenite concentrate in 30vol% CO–70vol% N_2 atmosphere was characterized by thermogravimetric and differential thermogravimetric(TG–DTG) analysis methods at temperatures from 1073 to 1223 K.The isothermal reduction results show that the reduction process comprised two stages;the corresponding apparent activation energy was obtained by the iso-conversional and model-fitting methods. For the first stage, the effect of temperature on the conversion degree was not obvious, the phase boundary chemical reaction was the controlling step, with an apparent activation energy of 15.55–40.71 k J·mol^(–1).For the second stage, when the temperatures was greater than 1123 K,the reaction rate and the conversion degree increased sharply with increasing temperature, and random nucleation and subsequent growth were the controlling steps, with an apparent activation energy ranging from 182.33 to 195.95 k J·mol^(–1).For the whole reduction process, the average activation energy and pre-exponential factor were 98.94^(–1)18.33 k J·mol^(–1) and 1.820^(–1).816 min^(–1),respectively.
