The electrochemical characteristics of metamizole sodium were studied by cyclic voltammetry at GC electrode under microwave radiation and a considerable current enhancement was observed for metamizole sodium in aqueous 0.05 mol/L H2SO4. Under the optional conditions, metamizole sodium was determined in the absence and presence of microwave activation. In the absence of microwave activation cyclic voltammogram of metamizole sodium shows good linear relationship in a concentration range of 8.0×10^-5-1.0×10^-3 mol/L in aqueous 0.05 mol/L H2SO4 with a detection limit of 6.75× 10^-6 mol/L(S/N=3) and the equation of linear regression is Ip=12.973c-0.1905(R^2=0.9996, n=6); in the presence of 80 W microwave activation cyclic voltammogram of metamizole sodiumin shows good linear relationship in a concentration range of 4.0× 10^-5-1.0×10^-3 mol/L in aqueous 0.05 mol/L H2SO4 with a detection limit of 4,41 × 10^-6 mol/L(S/N=3) and the equation of linear regression is Ip=25.107c-0.1193(R^2=0.9973, n=7). The current in the presence of 80 W microwave activation increases to about 2 orders of magnitude compared with that in the absence of microwave activation. The proposed method in the presence of microwave activation showed high selectivity and sensitivity, and the sampling of the disposal method is simple. The method was verified by the determination of Metamizole Sodium tablet with satisfactory results.展开更多
The thermodynamic properties of metamizol monohydrate in pure solvents(methanol,ethanol,n-propanol and isopropanol) and two binary mixed solvent systems including(methanol+ethanol) and(methanol+isopropanol) were measu...The thermodynamic properties of metamizol monohydrate in pure solvents(methanol,ethanol,n-propanol and isopropanol) and two binary mixed solvent systems including(methanol+ethanol) and(methanol+isopropanol) were measured from 283.15 K to 313.15 K by gravimetric method under atmospheric pressure thought as 0.1 MPa.The modi fied Apelblat equation,the CNIBS/R-K equation,the Hybrid model and the NRTL model were used to correlate the solubility of metamizol monohydrate,respectively.The results show that the solubility of metamizol monohydrate in all the tested solvents increases with the rising temperature which means that it has temperature dependence.What's more,the effects of solvent components of the binary solvent mixtures on solubility were discussed,it illustrates that the increasing of the molar fraction of methanol gives the system a greater dissolving power.Furthermore,according to the NRTL model,the enthalpy,the Gibbs energy and the entropy of the mixing process were also obtained and discussed.展开更多

Methods: Proliferation assay, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay, apoptosis detecting, flow cytometry and western blot were performed. Results: It was found that treatment with propafenone at the concentration of 0.014 g/L or higher for 48 h could induce apoptosis in Hela cells greatly, while it was not observed in oxytetracycline and metamizole at the concentration of 0.20 g/L for 48 h. Oxytetracycline, propafenone and metamizole all displayed evident inhibitory effects on the proliferation of A549 cells. The results of LDH assay demonstrated that the drugs at the test range of concentration did not cause necrosis in the cells. Propafenone could elevate the protein level of P53 effectively (P〈0.01). Conclusions: Oxytetracycline, propafenone and metamizol (dipyrone) all displayed evident inhibitory effects on the proliferation of A549 cells. Propafenone also displayed evident inhibitory effects on the proliferation of Hela cells.展开更多

A possi...Metamizole sodium was chosen as a representative of unstable analytes for investigation by discussing the effects of oxygen and solvent on its degradation reaction using the capillary electmphoresis technique. A possible degradation mechanism was deduced from the observed behavior and was confirmed by infra-red spectroscopic study. The degradation reaction could be inhibited obviously by methanol instead of water as the solvent of analyte. Under the optimized conditions: separation voltage of 20 kV, and 5 mmol/L disodium hydrogen phosphate and 5 mmol/L borax with 10% methanol(pH 9. 12) as the running buffer, the standard curve of metamizole sodium was linear in a range of 3.77- 74. 07 mg/L. A satisfactory result was achieved when the technique was used to detect metamizole sodium in tablet.展开更多

Although metamizol is known to be a non selective COX inhibitor and therefore has platelet inhibiting potential, it is widely used in pain management in postsurgical setting. Methods: We present a case of bleeding after microsurgical decompression of a narrow lumbar spinal canal. Our patient developed a bleeding complication 3 days after the surgery. The bleeding spontaneously resolved after stopping the application of metamizol. Metamizol is a non selective COX inhibitor and is used as standard analgetic drug after surgery in our department, whereas other COX inhibitors are not. We made an intensive literature research to evaluate the prohaemorrhagic potential of metamizol. Metamizol has proven dose dependent platelet inhibiting effect. Conclusions: This is a quite ordinary case and there is no proof of metamizol being responsible for the bleeding in this case, it still poses questions at our daily routine and the question about a dose dependent clinically relevant prohaemorrhagic effect of metamizol remains unanswered. Metamizole(MZ)is a widely used anti-inflammatory drug.Due to its common use,this contaminant is found in sewage and rivers.In order to reduce the contamination produced by the MZ,we fabricated in this work a photocata...Metamizole(MZ)is a widely used anti-inflammatory drug.Due to its common use,this contaminant is found in sewage and rivers.In order to reduce the contamination produced by the MZ,we fabricated in this work a photocatalytic composite using recycled polyethylene(RPE)and the CaLaCoO_(9)(LCCO)perovskite.Those nanoparticles had a microplate-like morphology and sizes of 1.4–5.5μm according to the analysis of microscopy.The photocatalytic properties of the LCCO powders were evaluated under ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)irradiation and found a removal efficiency of 96%.When the RPE+LCCO composite was employed for the photocatalytic degradation of MZ,a maximum degradation of 92.5%was obtained.The influence of the pH on the photocatalytic activity was also studied and found that an initial pH=3 produced a total degradation of MZ after 240 min of UV-Vis irradiation.Moreover,three reuse cycles were carried out for the pure LCCO powders and for the RPE+LCCO composites and found that the maximum loss of degradation was 5%.Furthermore,scavenger experiments demonstrated that the super oxide and hydroxyl radicals are formed during the photocatalytic reaction and were responsible for the degradation of MZ.Additionally,the X-ray photoelectron-spectroscopy and Raman analysis demonstrated the formation of defects(oxygen vacancies),those ones delayed the electron-hole recombination,which in turn,enhanced the degradation of the MZ.Thus,the studies performed in this work proved that composites made with recycled plastics and LCCO perovskites are a low-cost and feasible alternative for the cleaning of water sources polluted with pharmaceutical compounds.展开更多
