The modification effects of ytterbium(Yb), Na_3PO_4 and Yb + Na_3PO_4 on primary Mg_2Si phase in Mg-4Si alloys were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD), optical microscopy(OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) analysis in this work. The results indicate that the morphology of the primary Mg_2Si phase apparently changes from coarse dendrites to fine dispersive polygonal particles and the mean size decreases from 276.6 μm to 7.1 μm, with combined modification of 0.8wt.% Yb and 2.64 wt.% Na_3PO_4. Such a morphological evolution results in improvement in the ultimate tensile strength and elongation of the alloys as compared to the base alloy. This may be attributed to the formation of the YbP particles that acted as the heterogeneous nucleation substrates for the primary Mg_2Si particles, resulting in a refined distribution of these precipitates. The results of XRD examination show that there was no reaction between Si and Yb or Na_3PO_4. Solo addition of Yb or Na_3PO_4 into the melt has no real modification effect on the microstructure, but the primary Mg_2Si particles and α-Mg phases become coarser than that in the unmodified alloy. 展开更多

The Sr/F co-doped CaP(Sr/F-CaP)coatings were prepared by micro-arc oxidation(MAO)under different voltages to modify the microstructure and corrosion behavior of Mg-4Zn-1Mn alloy.The surface and interface characteristics investigated using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(EDS)showed that the MAO coatings displayed uneven crater-like holes and tiny cracks under lower voltage,while they exhibited relatively homogeneous crater-like holes without cracks under higher voltage.The thickness of MAO coatings increased with increasing voltage.The corrosion behavior of Mg-4Zn-1Mn alloy was improved by the MAO coatings.The MAO coatings prepared under 450 V and 500 V voltages possessed the best corrosion resistance with regard to the electrochemical corrosion tests and immersion corrosion tests,respectively.The MAO coatings fabricated under 450-500 V could provide a better corrosion protection effect for the substrate. 展开更多

Influence of heat treatment on the microstructures and mechanical properties of sand-cast Mg-4Y-2Nd-1Gd-0.4Zr magnesium alloy was investigated,and the tensile fracture mechanisms of the studied alloys under different conditions were also discussed.The results show that the optimum T4 and T6 heat treatment conditions for the as-cast Mg-4Y-2Nd-1Gd-0.4Zr alloy are 525°C,8 h and(525°C,8 h)+(225°C,16 h),respectively,with regard to the microstructure observation,DSC heating curve and mechanical properties.The hardness,yield strength,ultimate tensile strength and elongation of the Mg-4Y-2Nd-1Gd-0.4Zr alloy treated by optimum T6 heat treatment are HV91,180 MPa,297 MPa and 7.4%,respectively.Moreover,the Mg-4Y-2Nd-1Gd-0.4Zr alloys under different heat treatment conditions exhibit different tensile fracture modes. 展开更多

为促进Si_(3)N_(4)结合SiC耐火材料的致密化,降低Si粉氮化温度,以SiC颗粒和细粉、Si粉为主要原料,利用从高钛型高炉渣提取的Ti-Si-Fe合金部分取代Si粉,在埋碳气氛下于1350℃反应烧结5 h,制备了Si_(3)N_(4)结合SiC耐火材料。研究了Ti-Si... 为促进Si_(3)N_(4)结合SiC耐火材料的致密化,降低Si粉氮化温度,以SiC颗粒和细粉、Si粉为主要原料,利用从高钛型高炉渣提取的Ti-Si-Fe合金部分取代Si粉,在埋碳气氛下于1350℃反应烧结5 h,制备了Si_(3)N_(4)结合SiC耐火材料。研究了Ti-Si-Fe合金添加量(加入质量分数分别为0、1.8%、3.6%、5.4%、7.2%)对Si粉的氮化行为、材料力学性能和显微结构的影响,并探讨了氮化反应烧结机制。结果表明:1)随着Ti-Si-Fe合金添加量的增加,材料的常温力学性能和高温抗折强度明显改善,荷重软化温度均超过1700℃,Ti-Si-Fe合金添加量超过3.6%(w)后材料性能的增幅变缓;2)Ti-Si-Fe合金促进了Si粉在较低温度下的完全氮化和材料的反应烧结,Ti-Si-Fe合金中各物相及Si粉氮化反应的体积增加能够充填气孔,氮化产物改善骨料与基质、基质内部的结合状态,从而提高材料的致密化程度,改善力学性能;3)引入Ti-Si-Fe合金后,反应体系中形成了富含Ti、Si、N、Fe成分的液相,氮化物的形成除传统的VS、VLS机制外,溶解-沉淀机制在短柱状β-Si_(3)N_(4)、粒状TiN的形成中起到主导作用,交错连结的α-Si_(3)N_(4)晶须、短柱状β-Si_(3)N_(4)、粒状TiN对材料的力学性能起到增强作用。 展开更多

The results show that the solidification range of Mg-8Zn-4Al-xRE alloys increases with RE additions. A binary eutectic reaction can arise and produce a new phase (Mg:Al:Zn:RE) and the temperature of phase transformation point of the new phase is 412.85 C. In Mg-8Zn-4Al-1.5RE alloy, a small amount of Mg:Al:Zn:RE phase and ε phases are found besides a(Mg),φand r phases. Hydroxyapatite(HA) and strontium(Sr) incorporated HA coatings with different Sr contents were prepared on Mg-4 Zn substrates by electrochemical deposition method. Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) and electrochemical workstation were applied for the composition, phase constitution, morphology analyses and corrosion tests. The results reveal that the incorporation of Sr in coatings does not lead to dramatical change of functional groups and the crystal structure of the HA phase, but the crystal size and crystallinity decrease with increasing Sr content, which should be attributed to the lattice distortion and different occupancies of Sr and Ca ions. The 10 Sr HA@Mg-4 Zn samples show the lowest corrosion current density and the highest corrosion potential, and also exhibit the lowest amount of hydrogen evolution among all coated samples. 展开更多

Transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),hardness tests and tensile tests were performed to investigate the effect of aging on microstructure and mechanical properties of forged Al-4.4Cu-0.7Mg-0.6Si alloy.The results show that the alloy exhibits splendid mechanical properties with an ultimate tensile strength of504MPa and an elongation of10.1%after aging at170°C for16h.With tensile testing temperature increasing to150°C,the strength of the alloy declines slightly to483MPa.Then,the strength drops quickly when temperature reaches over200°C.The high strength of the alloy in peak-aged condition is caused by a considerable amount ofθ'and AlMgSiCu(Q)precipitates.The relatively stable mechanical properties tested below150°C are mainly ascribed to the stability ofθ'precipitates.The growth ofθ'and Q precipitates and the generation ofθphase lead to a rapid drop of the strength when temperature is over150°C. 展开更多

The microstructures of an Mg-4Y-3Nd-0.5Zr alloy by differential pressure casting were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and its tensile deformation behavior was measured using a Gleeble1500D themo-simulation machine in the temperature range of 200 to 400 ℃ at initial strain rates of 5×10^-4 to 10^-1 s^-1. Results show that the as-cast microstructure consists of primary α-Mg phase and bone-shaped Mg5RE eutectic phase distributed along the grain boundary. The eutectic phase is dissolved into the matrix after solution treatment and subsequently precipitates during peak aging. Tensile deformation tests show that the strain rate has little effect on stress under 300 ℃. Tensile stress decreases with an increase in temperature and the higher strain rate leads to an increase in stress above 300 ℃. The fracture mechanism exhibits a mixed quasi-cleavage fracture at 200 ℃, while the fracture above 300 ℃ is a ductile fracture. The dimples are melted at 400 ℃ with the lowest strain rate of 10^-4 s^-1. 展开更多

The microstructures and mechanical properties of Mg-6Zn-1Mn-4Sn-1.5Nd alloy subjected to extrusion and T5 treatment were investigated using optical microscopy(OM), X-ray diffractometer(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), electron back scattered diffraction(EBSD), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), hardness tests and uniaxial tensile tests. The results showed that the as-cast alloy consisted of α(Mg), Mn, Mg7Zn3, Mg2 Sn and Mg Sn Nd phases. Dynamic recrystallization has completed during the extrusion process and the average grain size was 7.2 μm. After T5 treatment, the strength increased obviously, the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of as-extruded alloy were increased by 94 and 34 MPa, respectively. Microstructure characterization revealed that the improvement of strength was determined by the high number density of β′1 rods. 展开更多

研究往复挤压对Mg-4Al-4Si(AS44)合金显微组织和性能的影响。结果表明:往复挤压显著地细化晶粒,改善组织的均匀性;往复挤压4道次和8道次后,Mg2Si颗粒尺寸由铸态下的约120μm分别减小至3和2μm,α-Mg基体晶粒尺寸由铸态下的约50μm分别... 研究往复挤压对Mg-4Al-4Si(AS44)合金显微组织和性能的影响。结果表明:往复挤压显著地细化晶粒,改善组织的均匀性;往复挤压4道次和8道次后,Mg2Si颗粒尺寸由铸态下的约120μm分别减小至3和2μm,α-Mg基体晶粒尺寸由铸态下的约50μm分别减小至9和8μm,形成了较为细小、弥散分布的Mg2Si颗粒和细小的等轴晶组织。合金的力学性能随往复挤压道次的增加而显著提高,挤压8道次时,合金的极限抗拉强度、屈服强度和伸长率分别达到251.7 MPa、210.5 MPa和14.8%,与铸态合金相比,上述力学性能指标分别提高了131.3%、191.1%和469.2%;挤压态合金拉伸断裂形式为微孔聚合型韧性断裂。 展开更多

The microstructure of Mg-8Zn-4Al-1Ca aged alloy was investigated by TEM and HRTEM. The results show that the hardening produced in the Mg-8Zn-4Al-1Ca alloy is considerably higher than that in the Mg-8Zn-4A1 alloy. A dense dispersion of disc-like Ca2Mg6Zn3 precipitates are formed in Mg-8Zn-4Al-1Ca alloy aged at 160 ℃ for 16 h. In addition, the lattice distortions, honeycomb-looking Moir&#233; fringes, edge dislocations and dislocation loop also exist in the microstructure. The precipitates of alloy aged at 160 ℃ for 48 h are coarse disc-like and fine dispersed grainy. When the alloy is subjected to aging at 160 ℃ for 227 h, the microstructure consists of numerous MgZn2 precipitates and Ca2Mg6Zn3 precipitates. All the analyses show that Ca is a particularly effective trace addition in improving the age-hardening and postponing the formation of MgZn2 precipitates in Mg-8Zn-4Al alloy aged at 160 ℃. 展开更多

研究往复挤压Mg-4Al-2Si(AS42)合金的显微组织和晶粒细化机制。结果表明:挤压过程中发生受位错攀移控制的动态再结晶,随挤压道次的增加,合金的晶粒尺寸迅速减小;对合金挤压8道次后,得到晶粒细小、均匀分布的等轴晶组织,晶粒尺寸由铸态... 研究往复挤压Mg-4Al-2Si(AS42)合金的显微组织和晶粒细化机制。结果表明:挤压过程中发生受位错攀移控制的动态再结晶,随挤压道次的增加,合金的晶粒尺寸迅速减小;对合金挤压8道次后,得到晶粒细小、均匀分布的等轴晶组织,晶粒尺寸由铸态的45μm减小至1.5μm,此时,合金组织的细化趋于稳定,达到细化极限;晶粒细化机制是在往复挤压过程中通过累积动态再结晶,使再结晶得以彻底完成;增加位错密度和加剧晶界畸变使再结晶形核数目增多;大量挤压破碎、均匀分布的Mg2Si第二相颗粒成为再结晶形核核心,从而使晶粒得以细化;往复挤压11道次时,由于挤压温度过高,导致晶粒发生异常长大,最大尺寸约为10μm。本试验条件下晶粒发生异常长大的温度阀值约为400℃。 展开更多
