Particle-in-cell/Monte Carlo collision (PIC/MCC) simulations are carried out to verify the theoretical results. Based on this theoretical method, the breakdown phenomenon of the pulse microwave is analyzed. The results show that the product values of the initial electron density and the propagation length are the criterion to distinguish the pulse peak decline breakdown and the pulse width reduction breakdown. Furthermore, the energy transmission is also studied, which shows that the total output energy is approximately independent of the input electric field if the electric field is not extremely large.展开更多

Based on the plane-wave spectrum theory, the relationship between the Hertz potential and the electromagnetic field is discussed. An approach to the description of the field distribution in the layer mediums in case of an arbitary field source is proposed. Given the focusing current distribution over the antenna aperture, the field distribution of the focal region is worked out. In describing the field distribution over the focal region, the integration of spectrum functions in the spectrum domain (kx,ky) is carried out instead of the complicated Fresnel integral. The approximations are obtained by the saddle-point integration. Comparison with experimental results demonstrates the validity of the approach.展开更多

The microwave exposure times were fixed at60 s and 120 s. A rheology characteristic for microwave pre-treatment of coal-water slurry(CWS) was performed in an online Bohlin viscometer. The non-Newtonian character of the slurry follows the rheological model of Ostwald de Waele. The values of n and k vary from 0.31 to 0.64 and 0.19 to 0.81 Pa·sn,respectively. This paper presents an artificial neural network(ANN) model to predict the effects of operational parameters on apparent viscosity of CWS. A 4-2-1 topology with Levenberg-Marquardt training algorithm(trainlm) was selected as the controlled ANN. Mean squared error(MSE) of 0.002 and coefficient of multiple determinations(R^2) of 0.99 were obtained for the outperforming model. The promising values of correlation coefficient further confirm the robustness and satisfactory performance of the proposed ANN model.展开更多

The real time simulation of the environment sensors is still a challenge. In this paper, the conception, development and validation of an automotive radar raw data sensor model is shown. For the implementation, the Unreal VR engine developed by Epic Games is used. The model consists of a sending antenna, a propagation and a receiving antenna model. The microwave field propagation is simulated by a raytracing approach. It uses the method of shooting and bouncing rays to cover the field. A diffused scattering model is implemented to simulate the influence of rough structures on the reflection of rays. To parameterize the model, simple reflectors are used. The validation is done by a comparison of the measured radar patterns of pedestrians and cyclists with simulated values. The outcome is that the developed model shows valid results, even if it still has deficits in the context of performance. It shows that the bouncing of diffuse scattered field can only be done once. This produces inadequacies in some scenarios. In summary, the paper shows a high potential for real time simulation of radar sensors by using ray tracing in a virtual reality.展开更多
