The overgeneralisation may happen because most studies on data publishing for multiple sensitive attributes(SAs)have not considered the personalised privacy requirement.Furthermore,sensitive information disclosure may...The overgeneralisation may happen because most studies on data publishing for multiple sensitive attributes(SAs)have not considered the personalised privacy requirement.Furthermore,sensitive information disclosure may also be caused by these personalised requirements.To address the matter,this article develops a personalised data publishing method for multiple SAs.According to the requirements of individuals,the new method partitions SAs values into two categories:private values and public values,and breaks the association between them for privacy guarantees.For the private values,this paper takes the process of anonymisation,while the public values are released without this process.An algorithm is designed to achieve the privacy mode,where the selectivity is determined by the sensitive value frequency and undesirable objects.The experimental results show that the proposed method can provide more information utility when compared with previous methods.The theoretic analyses and experiments also indicate that the privacy can be guaranteed even though the public values are known to an adversary.The overgeneralisation and privacy breach caused by the personalised requirement can be avoided by the new method.展开更多

Developing a privacy-preserving data publishing algorithm that stops individuals from disclosing their identities while not ignoring data utility remains an important goal to achieve.Because finding the trade-off betw...Developing a privacy-preserving data publishing algorithm that stops individuals from disclosing their identities while not ignoring data utility remains an important goal to achieve.Because finding the trade-off between data privacy and data utility is an NP-hard problem and also a current research area.When existing approaches are investigated,one of the most significant difficulties discovered is the presence of outlier data in the datasets.Outlier data has a negative impact on data utility.Furthermore,k-anonymity algorithms,which are commonly used in the literature,do not provide adequate protection against outlier data.In this study,a new data anonymization algorithm is devised and tested for boosting data utility by incorporating an outlier data detection mechanism into the Mondrian algorithm.The connectivity-based outlier factor(COF)algorithm is used to detect outliers.Mondrian is selected because of its capacity to anonymize multidimensional data while meeting the needs of real-world data.COF,on the other hand,is used to discover outliers in high-dimensional datasets with complicated structures.The proposed algorithm generates more equivalence classes than the Mondrian algorithm and provides greater data utility than previous algorithms based on k-anonymization.In addition,it outperforms other algorithms in the discernibility metric(DM),normalized average equivalence class size(Cavg),global certainty penalty(GCP),query error rate,classification accuracy(CA),and F-measure metrics.Moreover,the increase in the values of theGCPand error ratemetrics demonstrates that the proposed algorithm facilitates obtaining higher data utility by grouping closer data points when compared to other algorithms.展开更多

Most of the data publishing methods have not considered sensitivity protection,and hence the adversary can disclose privacy by sensitivity attack.Faced with this problem,this paper presents a medical data publishing m...Most of the data publishing methods have not considered sensitivity protection,and hence the adversary can disclose privacy by sensitivity attack.Faced with this problem,this paper presents a medical data publishing method based on sensitivity determination.To protect the sensitivity,the sensitivity of disease information is determined by semantics.To seek the trade-off between information utility and privacy security,the new method focusses on the protection of sensitive values with high sensitivity and assigns the highly sensitive disease information to groups as evenly as possible.The experiments are conducted on two real-world datasets,of which the records include various attributes of patients.To measure sensitivity protection,the authors define a metric,which can evaluate the degree of sensitivity disclosure.Besides,additional information loss and discernability metrics are used to measure the availability of released tables.The experimental results indicate that the new method can provide better privacy than the traditional one while the information utility is guaranteed.Besides value protection,the proposed method can provide sensitivity protection and available releasing for medical data.展开更多

The interactive relationship of social network contains a lot of personal privacy information. The direct release of social network data will cause the disclosure of privacy information. Aiming at the dynamic characteristics of social network data release, a new dynamic social network data publishing method based on differential privacy was proposed. This method was consistent with differential privacy. It is named DDPA (Dynamic Differential Privacy Algorithm). DDPA algorithm is an improvement of privacy protection algorithm in static social network data publishing. DDPA adds noise which follows Laplace to network edge weights. DDPA identifies the edge weight information that changes as the number of iterations increases, adding the privacy protection budget. Through experiments on real data sets, the results show that the DDPA algorithm satisfies the user’s privacy requirement in social network. DDPA reduces the execution time brought by iterations and reduces the information loss rate of graph structure.展开更多

The initial idea of privacy-preserving data mining PPDM was to extend traditional data mining techniques to work with the data modified to mask sensitive information. The key issues were how to modify the data and how to recover the data mining result from the modified data. Privacy-preserving data mining considers the problem of running data mining algorithms on confidential data that is not supposed to be revealed even to the party running the algorithm. In contrast, privacy-preserving data publishing (PPDP) may not necessarily be tied to a specific data mining task, and the data mining task may be unknown at the time of data publishing. PPDP studies how to transform raw data into a version that is immunized against privacy attacks but that still supports effective data mining tasks. Privacy-preserving for both data mining (PPDM) and data publishing (PPDP) has become increasingly popular because it allows sharing of privacy sensitive data for analysis purposes. One well studied approach is the k-anonymity model [1] which in turn led to other models such as confidence bounding, l-diversity, t-closeness, (α,k)-anonymity, etc. In particular, all known mechanisms try to minimize information loss and such an attempt provides a loophole for attacks. subsequent manuscr...BACKGROUND Journal Impact Factor™(JIF)is often used to evaluate the relative reputation and quality of academic journals in their respective fields,and can greatly influence the quality and scope of subsequent manuscript submissions.Therefore,many if not all academic journals are interested in increasing their JIF,to improve their academic impact.AIM To determine the importance of the integrity of the editorial and publication process in improving the academic influence of academic journals and the JIF of academic journals.METHODS In this paper,we describe our statistical analysis of bibliometric factors-including the 2021 JIFs released in the Journal Citation Report™2022,discipline rankings,received and published articles in 2019-2021,and webpage visits and downloads-for seven journals published by Baishideng Publishing Group(Baishideng)and indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded™;ultimately,we introduce and discuss the editing and publishing processes of Baishideng’s journals in their entirety,as they form the basis for our objective of safeguarding and bolstering integrity in academic publication.RESULTS For the seven journals assessed,their 2021 JIFs were basically unchanged from 2020,with the current metric ranging from 5.374 for World Journal of Gastroenterology(WJG)to 1.534 for World Journal of Clinical Cases(WJCC).Further assessments of the journals’bibliometrics from 2019 to 2020,showed that World Journal of Stem Cells has the highest self-citation rate(1.43%)and World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery has the lowest(0.21%).Additionally,the total 3012 articles published during this period were cited by more than 20000 articles in approximately 8000 academic journals.Of note,the 1102 articles published in WJG were cited by articles in 3059 journals,among which 171 journals have a JIF of>10,including internationally renowned academic journals such as CA-A Cancer Journal for Clinicians(2021 JIF 286.130,record count:1),Lancet(2021 JIF 202.731,record count:4),Nature Reviews Immunology(2021 JIF 108.555,record count:2),Nature Reviews Gastroenterology&Hepatology(2021 JIF 73.082,record count:9),Lancet Gastroenterology&Hepatology(2021 JIF 45.042,record count:8),Gastroenterology(2021 JIF 33.883,record count:19),and Gut(2021 JIF 31.793,record count:21).This suggests that Baishideng’s journals have been widely recognized for their academic quality.In the Reference Citation Analysis(RCA)database,all seven Baishidengpublished journals obtained a 2022 Journal Article Influence Index(JAII).For example,WJG has a 2022 JAII of 22.048,ranking 18th out of 102 journals in the field of gastroenterology&hepatology in the RCA,with 469909 total citations(6/102)and 21313 total articles(5/102).The numbers of manuscripts received and published in 2021 were both higher than those in 2019-2020.For example,WJCC received a total of 3650 manuscripts in 2021,which is 91.1%higher than those in 2019-2020(average:1910 papers/year).In 2021,WJCC published 1296 articles,representing an increase of 105.1%compared to those in 2019-2020(average:632 articles/year).The numbers of webpage visits and downloads received by the seven journals have increased year by year.For example,the number of total visits received by WJG in 2019-2021 was 1974052 in 2019,2317835 in 2020(increased by 17.4%compared with that in 2019),and 2652555 in 2021(increased by 4.4%compared with that in 2020).The visitors were from more than 220 countries and regions worldwide,such as the United States,China,and the United Kingdom.Open access(OA)plays a vital role in improving the quality,efficiency,transparency,and integrity of academic journal publishing.From 2019 to 2021,a total of 5543 OA articles were published in the seven journals,of which 2083(37.6%)were invited and published free-of-charge.During the same period,1683 articles were published in WJG,and the authors were from more than 70 countries and regions.For the total 5543 articles published in the seven journals from 2019 to 2021,3903 article quality tracking reports were received after the online publication of these articles.The quality of the articles was further evaluated through the Baishideng’s article quality and author evaluation tracking system,with 4655 articles(84.0%)having received author evaluation and feedback,which contributes to tracking metrics for authors’satisfaction with the collective publication processes.From March 25,2021 to June 28,2022,the seven journals received a total of 424 reader evaluations and 229 letters from readers;this subsequent reader engagement demonstrates that the popularity of the published articles and the volume of their readership audience were improved through the reader evaluation system.CONCLUSION Ultimately,the findings from our bibliometric assessments indicate that establishing,promoting and actively practicing processes that safeguard and bolster the integrity of the editing and publication process also help to improve the academic influence of academic journals,which itself is the cornerstone for improving JIF.展开更多

文摘Developing a privacy-preserving data publishing algorithm that stops individuals from disclosing their identities while not ignoring data utility remains an important goal to achieve.Because finding the trade-off between data privacy and data utility is an NP-hard problem and also a current research area.When existing approaches are investigated,one of the most significant difficulties discovered is the presence of outlier data in the datasets.Outlier data has a negative impact on data utility.Furthermore,k-anonymity algorithms,which are commonly used in the literature,do not provide adequate protection against outlier data.In this study,a new data anonymization algorithm is devised and tested for boosting data utility by incorporating an outlier data detection mechanism into the Mondrian algorithm.The connectivity-based outlier factor(COF)algorithm is used to detect outliers.Mondrian is selected because of its capacity to anonymize multidimensional data while meeting the needs of real-world data.COF,on the other hand,is used to discover outliers in high-dimensional datasets with complicated structures.The proposed algorithm generates more equivalence classes than the Mondrian algorithm and provides greater data utility than previous algorithms based on k-anonymization.In addition,it outperforms other algorithms in the discernibility metric(DM),normalized average equivalence class size(Cavg),global certainty penalty(GCP),query error rate,classification accuracy(CA),and F-measure metrics.Moreover,the increase in the values of theGCPand error ratemetrics demonstrates that the proposed algorithm facilitates obtaining higher data utility by grouping closer data points when compared to other algorithms.

文摘This article focuses on the intersection of English-language scholarship between the history of publishing and the history of medicine in Imperial China.As an important part of cultural and social history,both topics have attracted attention from a number of historians.This article contains three sections.The first section introduces the evolution of Chinese book and publishing history in recent years and examines what book historians have done in relation to traditional Chinese medicine.The second section explores how medical historians have considered the role of printing in the history of Chinese medicine and the ways in which medical publications were used as primary sources or subjects of research.The third section explores scholarship on medical epistemic genres,a subfield of medical history,in Chinese medicine,specifically focusing on medical case histories and recipes from the comparative and cross-cultural perspectives.Finally,the conclusion explores potential future directions from the integration of Chinese publishing history and medical history.

文摘Most of the data publishing methods have not considered sensitivity protection,and hence the adversary can disclose privacy by sensitivity attack.Faced with this problem,this paper presents a medical data publishing method based on sensitivity determination.To protect the sensitivity,the sensitivity of disease information is determined by semantics.To seek the trade-off between information utility and privacy security,the new method focusses on the protection of sensitive values with high sensitivity and assigns the highly sensitive disease information to groups as evenly as possible.The experiments are conducted on two real-world datasets,of which the records include various attributes of patients.To measure sensitivity protection,the authors define a metric,which can evaluate the degree of sensitivity disclosure.Besides,additional information loss and discernability metrics are used to measure the availability of released tables.The experimental results indicate that the new method can provide better privacy than the traditional one while the information utility is guaranteed.Besides value protection,the proposed method can provide sensitivity protection and available releasing for medical data.
文摘Social network contains the interaction between social members, which constitutes the structure and attribute of social network. The interactive relationship of social network contains a lot of personal privacy information. The direct release of social network data will cause the disclosure of privacy information. Aiming at the dynamic characteristics of social network data release, a new dynamic social network data publishing method based on differential privacy was proposed. This method was consistent with differential privacy. It is named DDPA (Dynamic Differential Privacy Algorithm). DDPA algorithm is an improvement of privacy protection algorithm in static social network data publishing. DDPA adds noise which follows Laplace to network edge weights. DDPA identifies the edge weight information that changes as the number of iterations increases, adding the privacy protection budget. Through experiments on real data sets, the results show that the DDPA algorithm satisfies the user’s privacy requirement in social network. DDPA reduces the execution time brought by iterations and reduces the information loss rate of graph structure.
文摘The research takes three fundamental Internet Academic Journals (IAJ), which are China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chongqing VIP Information Co., Ltd. (VIP) and Beijing Wanfang Data Co., Ltd. (WFD), as subjects to discuss digital publishing mechanism innovations for China’s science information communication system. After introducing main Internet environment, comparing journal characteristics, and explaining publishing & operation modes of the IAJs, the paper analyses important issues such as redundant contents, digitalization issues, illegal journals, standards construction, copyright and benefit distribution. By learning from research practices and open access, a new benefit distribution and copyright management mode based on the Third Party Agency (TPA) is proposed. Future IAJs operation modes are also discussed from the view of scientific research innovation and state of the art platform construction.
文摘Data mining is the extraction of vast interesting patterns or knowledge from huge amount of data. The initial idea of privacy-preserving data mining PPDM was to extend traditional data mining techniques to work with the data modified to mask sensitive information. The key issues were how to modify the data and how to recover the data mining result from the modified data. Privacy-preserving data mining considers the problem of running data mining algorithms on confidential data that is not supposed to be revealed even to the party running the algorithm. In contrast, privacy-preserving data publishing (PPDP) may not necessarily be tied to a specific data mining task, and the data mining task may be unknown at the time of data publishing. PPDP studies how to transform raw data into a version that is immunized against privacy attacks but that still supports effective data mining tasks. Privacy-preserving for both data mining (PPDM) and data publishing (PPDP) has become increasingly popular because it allows sharing of privacy sensitive data for analysis purposes. One well studied approach is the k-anonymity model [1] which in turn led to other models such as confidence bounding, l-diversity, t-closeness, (α,k)-anonymity, etc. In particular, all known mechanisms try to minimize information loss and such an attempt provides a loophole for attacks. The aim of this paper is to present a survey for most of the common attacks techniques for anonymization-based PPDM & PPDP and explain their effects on Data Privacy.

文摘BACKGROUND Journal Impact Factor™(JIF)is often used to evaluate the relative reputation and quality of academic journals in their respective fields,and can greatly influence the quality and scope of subsequent manuscript submissions.Therefore,many if not all academic journals are interested in increasing their JIF,to improve their academic impact.AIM To determine the importance of the integrity of the editorial and publication process in improving the academic influence of academic journals and the JIF of academic journals.METHODS In this paper,we describe our statistical analysis of bibliometric factors-including the 2021 JIFs released in the Journal Citation Report™2022,discipline rankings,received and published articles in 2019-2021,and webpage visits and downloads-for seven journals published by Baishideng Publishing Group(Baishideng)and indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded™;ultimately,we introduce and discuss the editing and publishing processes of Baishideng’s journals in their entirety,as they form the basis for our objective of safeguarding and bolstering integrity in academic publication.RESULTS For the seven journals assessed,their 2021 JIFs were basically unchanged from 2020,with the current metric ranging from 5.374 for World Journal of Gastroenterology(WJG)to 1.534 for World Journal of Clinical Cases(WJCC).Further assessments of the journals’bibliometrics from 2019 to 2020,showed that World Journal of Stem Cells has the highest self-citation rate(1.43%)and World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery has the lowest(0.21%).Additionally,the total 3012 articles published during this period were cited by more than 20000 articles in approximately 8000 academic journals.Of note,the 1102 articles published in WJG were cited by articles in 3059 journals,among which 171 journals have a JIF of>10,including internationally renowned academic journals such as CA-A Cancer Journal for Clinicians(2021 JIF 286.130,record count:1),Lancet(2021 JIF 202.731,record count:4),Nature Reviews Immunology(2021 JIF 108.555,record count:2),Nature Reviews Gastroenterology&Hepatology(2021 JIF 73.082,record count:9),Lancet Gastroenterology&Hepatology(2021 JIF 45.042,record count:8),Gastroenterology(2021 JIF 33.883,record count:19),and Gut(2021 JIF 31.793,record count:21).This suggests that Baishideng’s journals have been widely recognized for their academic quality.In the Reference Citation Analysis(RCA)database,all seven Baishidengpublished journals obtained a 2022 Journal Article Influence Index(JAII).For example,WJG has a 2022 JAII of 22.048,ranking 18th out of 102 journals in the field of gastroenterology&hepatology in the RCA,with 469909 total citations(6/102)and 21313 total articles(5/102).The numbers of manuscripts received and published in 2021 were both higher than those in 2019-2020.For example,WJCC received a total of 3650 manuscripts in 2021,which is 91.1%higher than those in 2019-2020(average:1910 papers/year).In 2021,WJCC published 1296 articles,representing an increase of 105.1%compared to those in 2019-2020(average:632 articles/year).The numbers of webpage visits and downloads received by the seven journals have increased year by year.For example,the number of total visits received by WJG in 2019-2021 was 1974052 in 2019,2317835 in 2020(increased by 17.4%compared with that in 2019),and 2652555 in 2021(increased by 4.4%compared with that in 2020).The visitors were from more than 220 countries and regions worldwide,such as the United States,China,and the United Kingdom.Open access(OA)plays a vital role in improving the quality,efficiency,transparency,and integrity of academic journal publishing.From 2019 to 2021,a total of 5543 OA articles were published in the seven journals,of which 2083(37.6%)were invited and published free-of-charge.During the same period,1683 articles were published in WJG,and the authors were from more than 70 countries and regions.For the total 5543 articles published in the seven journals from 2019 to 2021,3903 article quality tracking reports were received after the online publication of these articles.The quality of the articles was further evaluated through the Baishideng’s article quality and author evaluation tracking system,with 4655 articles(84.0%)having received author evaluation and feedback,which contributes to tracking metrics for authors’satisfaction with the collective publication processes.From March 25,2021 to June 28,2022,the seven journals received a total of 424 reader evaluations and 229 letters from readers;this subsequent reader engagement demonstrates that the popularity of the published articles and the volume of their readership audience were improved through the reader evaluation system.CONCLUSION Ultimately,the findings from our bibliometric assessments indicate that establishing,promoting and actively practicing processes that safeguard and bolster the integrity of the editing and publication process also help to improve the academic influence of academic journals,which itself is the cornerstone for improving JIF.
