In order to let the supplier make more reasonable supply decisions,an integrated continuous replenishment policy for the vendor-managed inventory system is presented,which considers the quantity-based shipment consoli...In order to let the supplier make more reasonable supply decisions,an integrated continuous replenishment policy for the vendor-managed inventory system is presented,which considers the quantity-based shipment consolidation and stock replenishment with lead time.Then the system cost is analyzed and a mathematical model is built.Since the model is rather complex,the bounds of the optimal policy are first attained,then the problem is solved by a heuristic algorithm.Through experiments the relationship between the order lead time and the corresponding integrated policy is discussed,and the influence on the system cost is also analyzed.The results reveal that the lead time's influence on the system is more serious with the increase of the order lead time,the integrated policy with the order lead time is more reasonable and the optimal policy can minimize the total system cost.Finally,the parameter sensitivity of the model is analyzed.展开更多

Unlike the conventional method by using differential calculus to determine replenishment lot size and optimal number of shipments for such an integrated system, this paper proposes a straightforward algebraic approach to replace the use of calculus on the total cost function for solving the optimal production- shipment policies. In this paper,we consider an imperfect production-inventory system which consists of a single manufacturer and a single retailer.The manufacturer delivers the order quantity to the retailer in some unequal-sized batch...In this paper,we consider an imperfect production-inventory system which consists of a single manufacturer and a single retailer.The manufacturer delivers the order quantity to the retailer in some unequal-sized batches.To separate the defective items,the retailer performs an error-free screening process after receiving each delivery from the manufacturer.Shortage in retailer’s inventory is allowed and completely backlogged.The customer demand is influenced by the retail price,advertisement frequency and greening level of the product.The centralized model and the decentralized model based on a Stackelberg gaming approach are developed to determine optimal pricing,advertising and inventory decisions.A cost-sharing contract between the manufacturer and the retailer is implemented,which enhances the environmental performance,advertisement frequency and profitability of the supply chain significantly.The proposed model is illustrated with a numerical example.Sensitivity analysis for some key parameters is carried out and several managerial insights are also highlighted.展开更多
