In view of this, knowledge on the effect of environmental factors on crop growth and development could reduce the possibilities of significant yield loss. There have been statistical methods which have been developed in respect to characterizing crops but the additive main effect and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) method integrates analysis of variance and principal components analysis into a unified approach. AMMI has been used in the analysis of G × E interaction with greater precision in many crops. The objective of this study was to assess the extent of genotype x environment interaction and to select the stable cowpea genotypes in Ghanaian environments over seasons using AMMI model. Eight genotypes of cowpea released by Crops Research Institute of Ghana over two decades were selected for evaluation in two locations and two seasons using RCBD with 3 replications in forest and transitional zones of Ghana. When the mean yields of various genotypes were subjected to the AMMI model, the results showed that, a highly significant (P 0.001) genotype by location and by year interaction effects for cowpea grain yield was recorded with 63.1% of the total variation attributable to environmental effects. The AMMI Bi-plot of PC1 and GGE Bi-plot gave 80.8% and 89.3% respectively. Genotype Asontem (G3) had the highest yield and was adapted to all the environments and seasons. Genotypes Asetenapa (G1) and Soronko (G6) were however not stable with consistently low yield across all the environments. It is recommended that farmers in Forest and transitional zones of Ghana should cultivate the highly stable cowpea genotypes in order to get stable yields across environments due to climatic change.展开更多

The material used in the stapes reconstruction restores stapes, but the effects of the nonlinear material parameters on the stability of the MEHS are still unknown. To address this challenge, the nonlinear dynamic response and stability of the stapes reconstruction are investigated using a multi-degree-of-freedom mechanical model. The material parameters of the implant are tentatively determined by analyzing the natural frequencies of the undamped system. The dynamical properties of the MEHS are characterized under different external excitations. The approximate solution of the MEHS near the resonant frequency is derived through the multiple-time-scale method(MTSM). The results show that the nonlinear stiffness of the material has little influence on the MEHS in the healthy state, but it causes resonant phenomena between the ossicle and the implant in the pathological state.展开更多

Firstly, the Lotka-Volterra model with random parameter is built and reduced into the equivalent deterministic system by orthogonal polynomial approximation. Then, the linear stability theory and Routh-Hurwitz criterion for nonlinear deterministic systems are applied to the equivalent one. At last, at the aid of Lyapunov second method, we obtain that as the random intensity or statistical parameter of random variable is changed, the stability about stochastic Lotka-Volterra model is different from the deterministic system.展开更多

To comprehensively understand the water-sensitivity of mudstone and reveal its infuence on slope stability, we took the working slope containing water-sensitive mudstone of Shengli No.1 open-pit coal mine in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia, China, as an example. Mudstone samples taken from the working slope were remodeled and saturated, and then triaxial tested to obtain the efective cohesion and efective internal friction angle. The flter paper method was used to obtain the soil–water characteristic curve of unsaturated mudstone. The pore structure of mudstone samples with diferent water contents were analyzed using the mercury intrusion porosimetry tests combined with the fractal dimension. The total pore content of the mudstone sample with lower water content is greater than that of the mudstone sample with higher water content. The mesopores are more in the mudstone sample with lower water content, while the small pores are more in the mudstone sample with higher water content. The variation of water content will change the complexity of mudstone pore structure. The higher the water content, the simpler the mudstone pore structure and the smoother the pore surface. Numerical calculations were conducted on the stability of the working slope under diferent rainfall conditions. The efective saturation on the mudstone layer surface changed and the plastic strain all occurred on the mudstone steps under diferent rainfall conditions. The key to preventing landslide of the slope containing water-sensitive mudstone in Shengli No.1 open-pit coal mine is to control the deformation and sliding of the mudstone layer.展开更多

The uniqueness, boundedness, positivity, existence and stability of equilibrium point of the model are studied. In this paper, the uniqueness of the solution is discussed under the non-negative initial function and Neumann boundary conditions satisfying a specific space. The boundness of the solution is proved by the comparison principle of parabolic equations, and the positivity of the solution is proved by the strong maximum principle of parabolic equations. Hurwitz criterion and Lyapunov function construction are used to analyze the local stability and global stability of feasible equilibrium points. The results show that the system solution is unique non-negative and bounded. The model is unstable at the trivial equilibrium point E0 and the boundary equilibrium point E1, and the condition of whether the positive equilibrium point E2 is stable under certain conditions is given.展开更多

文摘Crops are largely influenced by climatic conditions during the growing season and therefore, minor deviation from optimal conditions can seriously threaten yield. It is recommended that farmers in Forest and transitional zones of Ghana should cultivate the highly stable cowpea genotypes in order to get stable yields across environments due to climatic change.

文摘The center manifold method has been widely used in the field of stochastic dynamics as a dimensionality reduction method. This paper studied the angular motion stability of a projectile system under random disturbances. The random bifurcation of the projectile is studied using the idea of the Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion, the center manifold reduction, and the polar coordinates transformation. Then,an approximate analytical presentation for the stationary probability density function is found from the related Fokker–Planck equation. From the results, the random dynamical system of projectile generates three different dynamical behaviors with the changes of the bifurcation parameter and the noise strength, which can be a reference for projectile design.

文摘A set of hydrodynamic similarity laws is applied to the scale-up of ethylene polymerization fluidized bed reactors(FBRs)under the condensed mode operation. The thermal stability of open-loop controlled FBRs is investigated by the homotopy continuation method. And the Hopf bifurcation point is selected as an index of the thermal stability similarity. The simulation results show the similarity in state variables, operation parameters, the space-time yield(STY),and the thermal stability of FBRs with different scales.Furthermore, the thermal stability behaviors and similarity of the closed-loop controlled FBRs with different scales are analyzed. The observed similar trend of Hopf bifurcation curves reveals the similarity in the thermal stability of closed-loop controlled FBRs with different scaling ratios. In general, the results of the thermal stability similarity confirm that the hydrodynamics scaling laws proposed in the work are applicable to the scale-up of FBRs under the condensed mode operation.

文摘Stapes fracture causes hearing loss and instability in the middle ear hearing system(MEHS). The results show that the nonlinear stiffness of the material has little influence on the MEHS in the healthy state, but it causes resonant phenomena between the ossicle and the implant in the pathological state.
文摘The asymptotic stability of two species stochastic Lotka-Volterra model is explored in this paper. At last, at the aid of Lyapunov second method, we obtain that as the random intensity or statistical parameter of random variable is changed, the stability about stochastic Lotka-Volterra model is different from the deterministic system.

文摘Mudstone, as a typical soft rock with wide distribution, has been endangering the slopes containing mudstone by its watersensitivity of swelling and weakening strength when encountering water. The key to preventing landslide of the slope containing water-sensitive mudstone in Shengli No.1 open-pit coal mine is to control the deformation and sliding of the mudstone layer.

文摘We investigate the stability of magnetization in free layer where the spin torque is induced by the spin Hall effect. In terms of the Landau–Liftshitz–Gilbert equation,we find the low-energy and high-energy equilibrium states,as well as the saddle points. The stability region is defined in the phase diagram spanned by the current density and the spin Hall angle. The spin Hall effect makes the previous saddle point into a stable state above a critical current. However,in the presence of magnetic field, the spin Hall effect leads to the opposite changes in the stable regions of the two low-energy states.
文摘To investigate the effects of self-memory diffusion on predator-prey models, we consider a predator-prey model with Bazykin functional response of self- memory diffusion. The model is unstable at the trivial equilibrium point E0 and the boundary equilibrium point E1, and the condition of whether the positive equilibrium point E2 is stable under certain conditions is given.

文摘To investigate the stability of gravity anchors of suspension bridges,in-situ tests of the vertical bearing capacity of the bedrock, shear resistance of the anchor-rock interface, shear resistance of the bedrock were conducted in a suspension bridge project.Under dry-wet cycles, the deterioration law of the mechanical properties of argillaceous sandstone was identified in laboratory tests:the elastic modulus, cohesion and friction of the argillaceous sandstone deteriorated significantly at first few dry-wet cycles and then declined slowly after 10 cycles, ultimately these three mechanical parameters were reduced to about 1/3,1/3,2/3 of the initial value respectively. Moreover, numerical simulation was used to restore in-situ shear tests and a good agreement was obtained.Base on the results of in-situ and laboratory tests, the stability of the gravity anchor foundation under natural conditions and drywet cycles was calculated and its failure modes were analyzed. The results demonstrated that the dry-wet cycles caused uneven settlement of the anchor foundation, resulting in more serious stress concentration in the substrate. The dry-wet cycles remarkably reduced the stability coefficient of the anchor foundation, whose failure mode shifted from overturning failure under natural conditions to sliding failure. When there was weak interlayer in the rock layer, the anti-sliding stability of the anchor foundation was affected drastically.

文摘Macao Science Satellite-1(known as MSS-1)is a low-inclination mission that will be launched at the beginning of 2023.An optical bench is used for accessing high-precision strength and direction measurements of the magnetic field. In this paper,we present a thermal stability design for the optical bench based on quasi-kinematic support by kinematic hinges on the MSS-1.The change in angles with the finite element method(FEM)model modified by thermal deformation test data is analyzed. The robustness of the structure is also investigated via the Monte Carlo method. Two main results are obtained.First, the peak-to-peak value(Vp-p)of the inter-boresight angle is at most 1.24″,and the Vp-p of the inter-boresight angle modification and analysis is no more than 3.13″,both of which are better than those on the Swarm satellites in orbit.Second, the 90°fibers of the carbon-reinforced arm need to be strictly controlled during the technological process.
