This research aims to analyze the profitability of irrigated agriculture at the level of the hydro-agricultural development of Konni. The methodological approach adopted is based on the method of “Rapid Participatory Diagnosis and Planning of actions to improve the performance of irrigated perimeters (DPRP)”. The documentary research made it possible to capitalize on the information available on the question. The collection of primary data in the field was carried out using questionnaires and interview guides submitted to actors directly or indirectly involved in the management of Konni’s AHA, taken individually or in focus group discussions. The data collected was processed with SPSS software to be analyzed and graphically illustrated with the Excel spreadsheet. The performance analysis made it possible to identify yields and constraints to the development of irrigated agriculture. The results show that on the Konni perimeter, there is a general trend towards a reduction in areas both in SS and in SH, with higher development rates in SH (80% to 90%), whereas they are very low in SS (8% to 25%). The main crops favored by Konni producers are onions, tomatoes, cabbage, corn and sorghum. Onion and tomato crops are more important sources of income than dune crops. In this context, the main challenges to be met for a better profitability of irrigated agriculture concern the socio-economic context of production, insufficient financing of infrastructures and their maintenance, small areas often below the break-even point, environmental degradation.展开更多

The paper presents the significance of agriculture in these 5 African economies in its ability to provide job opportunities and sustenance. A large portion of the African population in their different countries resides in rural areas and is fully dependent on agriculture for food and income. Subsequently, the development of many developing economies relies heavily on agriculture, the sector is the highest employer in the region with 60 percent of the total labor force being employed in agriculture and agriculture-related sectors such as manufacturing. The success of the sector means that people will have sufficient food, jobs will be created, and standards of living will be improved. The different projects implemented by local governments in the 5 countries and by the development partners have attained plausible results in providing job opportunities, increasing yield, providing food security, and creating a market for small-holder farmers. Despite these remarkable achievements, the agriculture sector in Africa as a whole is faced with many challenges that hinder its success, such as lack of funding, lack of infrastructure, limited land for farming, and climate change. To overcome these challenges and enable the sector to transform, bold policies need to be implemented. This study recommends that African countries create favorable business environments to attract investment, encourage youth participation in agricultural activities, and employ modern farming practices to increase agricultural productivity.展开更多

This study discusses the restrictive factors affecting agricultural development in impoverished areas in China. A typical impoverished mountainous area, Min County, was selected for a case study. A regression analysis on the factors and characteristics of agricultural development in Min County between 1982 and 2017 was performed in this study. Taking agricultural output as the dependent variable, we selected nine main inputs of agricultural production in impoverished mountainous areas as the independent variables. Ridge regression analysis was carried out by testing for unit root and co-integration to verify the equilibrium relationship of the data. The results showed that the real Gross domestic product(GDP)per capita, the non-grain area ratio, the proportion of government expenditure on agriculture support to total expenditure, and the amount of chemical fertilizer applied in unit cultivated land area were the four most significant factors. The proportion of government expenditure on agriculture support to total expenditure was a negative influence, whereas the other three significant factors had a positive influence on agricultural output. This study highlights about the most significant factors affecting the agricultural development of impoverished mountainous regions in China.展开更多

Every region should choose or create different circular agricultural model in different domains, in order to better use agricultural resources, reduce the consumption of agricultural energy inputs, reduce the emission of agricultural greenhouse gas, develop low carbon agriculture, and make great contribution for meeting the international challenges and promoting China's agricultural development.
文摘Firstly, the thesis introduces the connotation of green agriculture, indicating that the green agriculture has 4 characteristics, namely openness, continuity, high efficiency and standardization, compared with the traditional agricultural development model.Secondly, the advantages of developing green agriculture in Jiangsu Province are discussed, namely rich agricultural resources, notable technological advantage, solid agricultural foundation, high quality of agricultural products, great market prospect of green consumption, and notable policy advantage. In view of the increasing shortage of natural resources, increasing restriction of rural labor force, increasing deterioration of rural environment, inadequate popularization of green agriculture, and fierce competition at home and abroad, the restricted factors of developing green agriculture in Jiangsu Province are introduced. Finally,in view of the agricultural concept innovation, green agricultural system innovation, agricultural technology innovation, agricultural management innovation, operation system innovation, ecological system innovation, development of tourism agriculture and regional differentiation development strategy, the relevant countermeasures and suggestions are put forward,in order to explore a new agricultural development model for Jiangsu's modern agricultural development.
文摘The connotation and development of circular economy and circular agriculture are illustrated from the perspective of circular economy.Take the duplicable Sino-Singapore Eco-City in Tianjin as a case to analyze the background, significance and features of building Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City and point out the sustainable developmental orientation of the "three harmony and three capabilities" as well as its inspiration on the development of Tianjin urban agriculture from the aspects of water-saving,land-saving and energy-saving.Under the direction of circular economy theory, the enhancement of economical utilization of agricultural resources and resource utilization of agricultural wastes has positive effects on improving urban environment:decentralize organic solid wastes from sewage cycle system;further study the physiological and biochemical mechanism of increasing yield and income of ecological agriculture;bring urban agriculture into city land utilization planning and city development planning.

文摘In 2012,China's total grain yield reached 590 million tons and realized nine consecutive years of growth. This is huge historic achievement of China and also rare in development history of world agriculture. However,at the same time of making great achievements,China's agriculture is still confronted with many problems. On the basis of extensive survey,it pointed out 10 outstanding problems: farmland, labor, livestock power, water conservancy, input, agricultural disaster, ecological and environmental problem, waste of resources, economic scale and economic benefits. These problems have brought great adverse influence on China's agricultural development. In view of these problems,to realize sustainable, stable and healthy development of agriculture in the new period,it came up with following recommendations:( i)deepening the understanding;( ii) enforcing laws strictly;( iii) enhancing training;( iv) increasing benefits;( v) saving resources;( vi) protecting environment;( vii) developing science and technology;( viii) consolidating foundation.
