In this study,we investigated the preventive effects of emamectin benzoate 9.7%SL,which was newly developed to reduce the injection volume and number of injection holes required to protect against pine wood nematode.None of the Pinus thunbergii trees injected with emamectin benzoate 9.7%SL at 0.3 mL/cm diameter at breast height(DBH)died within 2 years of inoculation with pine wood nematodes.Emamectin benzoate 9.7%SL injected at 0.6 mL/cm DBH resulted in no tree mortality for 3 years.Mean residue of emamectin benzoate 9.7%SL in pine twigs injected with 0.3 mL/cm DBH was 0.490μg/g at 1 year after injection and 0.303μg/g after 2 years.These residues values are greater than 0.031μg/g,previously determined IC95 value for emamectin benzoate against the pine wood nematode.Our field experiment and residue analysis showed that emamectin benzoate 9.7%SL could be a substitute agent for emamectin benzoate 2.15%EC,which is widely used to prevent pine wood nematode in the field and that injection volume and number of injection holes can be greatly educed using this new formulation,which will reduce injury to the cambium,interruption of water movement,and infection of inoculation wounds by wood-decay or blue stain fungi. 展开更多

Alogliptin(AGLT),active ingredient of Alogliptin Benzoate(AGLT-BZ),is a new dipeptidyl peptidase-4(DPP-4)inhibitor for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.This study aimed to build a suitable method to determine the potential related substances in AGLT-BZ bulk drug and tablets.Seven related substances in Alogliptin Benzoate substances were synthetized and identified by ^(1)H-NMR and ESI-MS.In addition,the impurities were detected by a gradient reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatography(RP-HPLC)with UV detection.The chromatographic system consisted of an Angilent Zobax SB-CN column(250×4.6 mm;5 μm).The mobile phase consisted of water/acetonitrile/trifluoroacetic acid 1900:100:1 v/v/v(solution A)and acetonitrile/water/trifluoroacetic acid 1900:100:1 v/v/v(solution B)using a gradient program at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min with 278 nm detection and an injection volume of 20 ml.Additionally,selectivity,the limit of quantitation(LOQ)and limit of detection(LOD),linearity,accuracy,precision and robustness were determined.Linearity was good over the concentration range 50-1000 ng/ml and the coefficient of determination(R^(2))were 0.9991-0.9998.RSD% of the determination of precision were <2%(n=6).The method of RP-HPLC for the determination of impurities in AGLT-BZ was proved to be precise,accurate,robust and reliable.Three batches of self-made bulk drug and three dosages of commercial tablets were detected with this method. 展开更多

In this study, we investigated the effect of exogenous sodium benzoate on wheat seedlings(Yangmai 16) grown under heavy metal stress. The results showed that 2.4 mmol kg-1 of heavy metals significantly inhibited growth and delayed emergence of wheat seedlings. Under compound heavy metal stress, application of 2-4 g L^-1 sodium benzoate significantly increased(P<0.01) chlorophyll content and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters Fv/Fm and Fv/Fo of wheat, compared to the control(water treatment). Further analysis showed that application of 2-4 g L^-1 sodium benzoate alleviated osmotic stress by promoting the accumulation of osmolytes such as soluble proteins and free proline, increased the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and reduced malondialdehyde content(MDA). In contrast, higher concentrations of sodium benzoate solution(>6 g L^-1) inhibited the growth of wheat seedlings and even caused damage to seedlings. Correlation analysis showed that when the sodium benzoate concentration was in the range of 1.97-3.12 g L^-1(2016) and 1.58-3.27 g L^-1(2017), values of chlorophyll and its components, root activity, SOD activity, soluble protein, and free proline content were the highest. When the sodium benzoate concentration was raised to 2.59 g L^-1(2016) or 3.02 g L^-1(2017), MDA content was the lowest. Ultimately, exogenous sodium benzoate(2-4 g L^-1) facilitates root development and improves the root activity of wheat seedlings grown under compound heavy metals stress, thereby effectively alleviating the damage of compound heavy metal stress in wheat seedlings. 展开更多

The gradient method was developed using HPLC and a Phenomenex Luna C8, 150 × 4.6 mm, i.d 3.0 μm particle size column with a gradient programme of mobile phases A and B. With a flow rate of 1.5 mL/minute, injection volume of 10 μL, and column temperature of 35°C, UV wavelength detection at 254 nm for Benzyl alcohol and Benzoyl Benzoate and 280 nm for Fulvestrant, mobile phase-A consists of DI water and mobile phase-B consists of Acetonitrile. The current study describes a single HPLC method for developing a Fulvestrant (Active), Benzyl alcohol (Cosolvent), and Benzyl Benzoate (Cosolvent) assay for Fulvestrant injection. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and X-ray powder diffraction. They can be represented by general formula RE(C6H5COO)3(RE=La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy and Er). All of them are monoclinic and have layered structure. Themechanism of thermal decomposition of rare earth metal benzoates was studied by using TG, DTA, IR, and gas chromatography-mass spectromtry. The thermal decomposition of the rare earth benzoates in nitrogen proceeded in twostages; firsily it decomposed to form RE2O (CO3)2 and organic compounds, then RE2O (CO3)2 decomposed further toform rare earth metal oxides and carbon dioxide. The organic compounds obtained from the first step of the reaction aremaiuly benzophenone, 9, 10-anthraquinone, 1, 3-Diphenylisobenzofuran and so on. 展开更多

Rizatriptan benzoate is a 5HT 1B/1Dreceptor agonist which is prescribed for the treatment of migraine.In the present study new,simple,specific ultraviolet spectrophotometric method for rizatriptan benzoate was developed and validated.Forced degradation studies were carried out in acidic,alkaline and neutral pH conditions.The absorbance maxima peak was found to be 224 nm and linearity was observed in the concentration range of 0.5~2.5μg·mL-1 with regression coefficient value of 0.998 8.The method was validated and found to be precise.The percent recovery for rizatriptan benzoate was found to be 98.576±0.202.The bulk drug was found to be stable in neutral and acidic pH conditions but got degraded in 1N NaOH solution. 展开更多

Role of follicle-stimulating hormone and estradiol benzoate in recovering spermatogenesis in tamoxifen-injured rats

Objective:To evaluate the effects of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and estradiol benzoate (EB) on the recovery of spermatogenesis, histology, sexual hormones levels and testicular gene expression in testes of tamoxifen-injured rats.Methods:Forty adult rats were divided into eight groups in a factorial arrangement of tamoxifen and hormonal treatments. Half of the groups orally received 0.6 mg/kg tamoxifen, and 30 d later tamoxifen and no-tamoxifen groups (controls) were paired and assigned into four hormonal treatments with daily intramuscular injections for 10 consecutive days: 1 mL saline (control);7.5 IU FSH;12 μg/kg EB;and 7.5 IU FSH+12 μg/kg EB. One day after the last treatment, spermatozoa were recovered from epididymis, blood was processed for sex hormones concentration (testosterone, FSH and luteinizing hormone) and testes were processed for histology and RNA extraction for expression of genes related to apoptosis [caspase 3, inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2)].Results: Control groups did not show significant changes in most parameters, but hormonal treatments decreased caspase 3 and iNOS and increased Bcl-2 expression. Tamoxifen significantly decreased counts, motility and viability of spermatozoa, Bcl-2 expression and sex hormones. It increased intertubular space, caspase 3 and iNOS expression, and induced seminiferous tubular atrophy. The hormonal treatments reverted spermatogenesis, hormonal levels and histology compared with controls, however not attaining the same sperm quality as controls.Conclusions:Tamoxifen is clearly detrimental to spermatogenesis and overall testicular structure and function, whereas hormonal therapy with FSH and EB can improve testicular function and revert tamoxifen-induced azoospermia. 展开更多

Activated Carbon and Clay Minerals for the Sorptive Removal of Denatonium Ions from Denatonium Benzoate Solutions

This study assessed the feasibility of utilizing activated carbon and clay minerals for treating water impacted with the bittering agent denatonium benzoate (DB). Our specific study objectives were to 1) evaluate denatonium ion sorption to smectite clay minerals (bentonite and hectorite) and activated carbon (powdered and granular) at constant pH and ionic strength and 2) examine the impact of pH on denatonium ion sorption to each solid material. The experimental results indicated that high doses (33,000 mg/L) of as-received granular activated carbon and as-received clay minerals completely removed denatonium from aqueous solutions containing 100 - 1000 mg/L denatonium benzoate. Powdered activated carbon at doses of 5 - 100 mg/L exhibited favorable monolayer sorption of denatonium ions from a pH 6.95, 70 mg/L aqueous denatonium benzoate solution with a Langmuir separation factor (r) of 0.481, a maximum sorption capacity (Sm) of 74 mg/g, and a Langmuir constant of 15.3 L/g. A maximum removal of 23% of denatonium was achieved at the highest powdered activated carbon dosage employed. Denatonium ion removal with peroxide treated bentonite and peroxide treated hectorite did not result in complete removal of the ion and exhibited favorable sorption as evidenced by Freundlich 1/n values ranging from 0.803 to 1.194;Freundlich constants (Kf) ranged from 8 ng/L to 575 ng/L. Denatonium ion sorption to peroxide treated bentonite appeared to depend on pH while hectorite sorption of denatonium ions was independent of hydrogen ion concentrations. For powdered activated carbon adsorption, as pH increased denatonium ion sorption decreased. Overall, the work demonstrates that denatonium can be effectively removed from water via activated carbon or clay mineral sorption. 展开更多

The addition and abstraction reactions of OH radical with benzoate anion are investigated by density functional theory calculations that include solvent effects using UB3LYP, UCAM-B3LYP, UmPW1PW91 and UM06-2X functionals with the 6-311++G(2d,2p) basis set. Geometry optimizations of the reactants, products and transition state species are performed for the possible reaction paths. For the addition reactions, those targeting the ipso-, ortho-, meta- and para-carbons are predicted to be exoergic. The H-atom abstraction reactions from ortho, meta and para positions are also predicted to be exoergic. On the basis of the rate constants calculated by means of the transition state theory, the H-atom abstraction reaction from the ortho position is determined to be the favored path followed by the ortho OH addition reaction. 展开更多

This paper is concerned with the interaction of ethyl benzoate (EBA) and trifluoroaceticacid (TFA) molecules in the excited state by measurements of steady--state and transient fluo-rescence spectra at room and low temperatures. The results show that not only the 1:1 exci-plex but also the 2:1 triplex between EBA and TFA was formed. The formation pathway ofthe triplex is that the exciplex formed at first, then by the interaction with the EBA mole-cule it transformed into triplex. But it could not be formed by the dimer of EBA by interac-tion with TFA. The dimer of EBA is confirmed in the concentrated solution. So there arefour components in EBA/TFA--concentrated solution and their fluorescence lifetimes aremeasured respectively. 展开更多

Objective:Cyclophosphamide(CTX),which is commonly used in clinical chemotherapy,has a damaging effect on ovarian follicles.This study aimed to establish a new method to count the number of follicles in mouse ovaries using benzyl alcohol-benzyl benzoate(BABB)-based tissue-clearing technology and evaluate the follicle-damaging effects of different doses of CTX.Methods:C57BL/6 mice were divided into four groups and administered intraperitoneal injections of 0,40,80,or 120 mg/kg CTX.The serum levels of estradiol(E 2)and follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)were detected using an ELISA kit.Mouse ovaries were subjected to BABB clearing and labeled with DAPI,β-actin,and DDX4 to observe the ovarian structure and follicles.A three-dimensional software,Imaris,was used to reconstruct the ovarian structure and automatically count the number of follicles.The effects of different CTX doses on the total follicle number and estrous cycle were determined.Results:As the CTX dose increased,E 2 levels in CTX mice declined from 212.3 to 57.7 pg/mL;the FSH levels increased from 3.2 to 29 ng/mL.Mouse ovaries became transparent after BABB treatment.After fixation,microscopy,and Imaris processing,immunofluorescence signals ofβ-actin and DAPI from all levels in intact ovaries could be obtained and follicle number in half ovaries could be automatically counted using anti-DDX4 antibody labeling.In the NC,CTX40,CTX80,and CTX120 groups,the proportion of mice in the diestrus phase was 26.67%,51.67%,73.33%,and 95.00%,respectively,and the total follicle number was 2,603,1,761,1,043,and 262,respectively.E 2 levels were positively correlated with follicle number and FSH levels were negatively correlated with follicle number,indicating that the damaging effect of CTX on follicle number may be dose dependent.Conclusion:BABB can be used to clear intact ovaries from adult mice,and follicle number in half ovaries can be automatically counted.The damaging effect of CTX on follicles and the endocrine system is dose dependent. 展开更多

A quantitative interpretation of mass spectra of complex organic compounds so far is notvery perfect and needs some further investigation. In this paper a mechanism of cleft-rate-determining-steps of aromatic conjugated polyenic acid, methyl benzoate, methyl phenyl ketone,benzonitrile and aniline is proposed, and various quantum parameters of molecular ions ofaromatic conjugated polyenic compounds, together with their framents are calculated bymeans of CNDO/2 method. Through the process of calculation, the peak-height of mass spectracan be quantitatively interpreted, which means that the main factors which influence the cleftforms of simple cleavage of mass spectra of conjugated compounds given by the authorsmight be true to some extent. 展开更多

以4,5-二硝基邻苯二胺和2-羟基对苯二甲酸单甲酯为起始原料,设计并成功采用一锅法合成出2-羟基-4-(5,6-二硝基-1H-苯并[2,3-d]咪唑-2-基)苯甲酸甲酯(MHDIB)。以50 mL二乙二醇二甲醚为溶剂,1.5 g的2-羟基对苯二甲酸单甲酯和2.5 g SOCl2... 以4,5-二硝基邻苯二胺和2-羟基对苯二甲酸单甲酯为起始原料,设计并成功采用一锅法合成出2-羟基-4-(5,6-二硝基-1H-苯并[2,3-d]咪唑-2-基)苯甲酸甲酯(MHDIB)。以50 mL二乙二醇二甲醚为溶剂,1.5 g的2-羟基对苯二甲酸单甲酯和2.5 g SOCl2在80℃反应2 h制2-羟基-4-氯羰基苯甲酸甲酯。室温下快速向反应体系中加入1.56 g 4,5-二硝基邻苯二胺,并于85℃反应1 h后加入3.52 g多聚磷酸,回流反应1 h后水析出粗产品,经乙醇重结晶得到纯度为93.67%的黄色针状产物,产率为17.82%。产物经IR、MS、1H NMR的准确定性和表征,作为AB型新单体的前体可应用于羟基改性PBI纤维即聚2-羟基-1,4-亚苯基-2,6-苯并[2,3-d:5',6'-d']二咪唑(H-PBI)的创新研究。 展开更多

High performance liquid chromatography method for the separation of a series of chiral benzyl alcohols on N-(3,5-dinitrobenzoyl)-D-phenylglycine stationary phase (Macherey Nagel, Chiral-2) after pre-column achiral derivatization was developed. Cheap and easy available aromatic acid chlorides were used as derivatization agents. Good to excellent separations of the enantiomers were achieved in all cases in relatively short analytical runs. It was shown that the enantiorecognition depends on the substituents both in the starting alcohol and in the acid chloride. The method presents an efficient alternative to the direct analyses on polysaccharide and cyclodextrine-derived stationary phases. 展开更多
