BACKGROUND Several bibliometric analyses have been carried out to identify research hotspots and trends in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)research.Nonetheless,there are still significant knowledge gaps that mu...BACKGROUND Several bibliometric analyses have been carried out to identify research hotspots and trends in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)research.Nonetheless,there are still significant knowledge gaps that must be filled to advance our understanding of and ability to treat NAFLD.AIM To evaluate,through bibliometric and visual analysis,the current status of related research,related research frontiers,and the developmental trends in the field of diet and NAFLD.METHODS We retrieved publications about diet and NAFLD published between 1987 and 2022 from Scopus.Next,we used VOSviewer 1.6.20 to perform bibliometric analysis and visualization.RESULTS We found a total of 1905 studies,including 1637(85.93%)original articles and 195(10.24%)reviews,focused on the examination of NAFLD and its correlation with diet that were published between 1987 and 2022.Among the remaining five types of documents,38 were letters,notes,editorials,meeting minutes,or brief surveys,representing 1.99%of the total documents.The countries with the most publications on this topic were China(n=539;28.29%),followed by the United States(n=379;19.90%),Japan(n=133;6.98%),and South Korea(n=127;6.6%).According to the citation analysis,the retrieved papers were cited an average of 32.3 times and had an h-index of 106,with 61014 total citations.The two main clusters on the map included those related to:(1)Inflammation and oxidative stress;and(2)Dietary interventions for NAFLD.CONCLUSION This was the first study to use data taken from Scopus to visualize network mapping in a novel bibliometric analysis of studies focused on diet and NAFLD.After 2017,the two domains that received the most attention were“dietary interventions for NAFL”’and“‘inflammation and oxidative stress implicated in NAFLD and its correlation with diet.”We believe that this study provides important information for academics,dietitians,and doctors,and that additional research on dietary interventions and NAFLD is warranted.展开更多
BACKGROUND As a critical early event in hepatocellular carcinogenesis,telomerase activation might be a promising and critical biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients,and its function in the genesis and tre...BACKGROUND As a critical early event in hepatocellular carcinogenesis,telomerase activation might be a promising and critical biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients,and its function in the genesis and treatment of HCC has gained much attention over the past two decades.AIM To perform a bibliometric analysis to systematically assess the current state of research on HCC-related telomerase.METHODS The Web of Science Core Collection and PubMed were systematically searched to retrieve publications pertaining to HCC/telomerase limited to“articles”and“reviews”published in English.A total of 873 relevant publications related to HCC and telomerase were identified.We employed the Bibliometrix package in R to extract and analyze the fundamental information of the publications,such as the trends in the publications,citation counts,most prolific or influential writers,and most popular journals;to screen for keywords occurring at high frequency;and to draw collaboration and cluster analysis charts on the basis of coauthorship and co-occurrences.VOSviewer was utilized to compile and visualize the bibliometric data.RESULTS A surge of 51 publications on HCC/telomerase research occurred in 2016,the most productive year from 1996 to 2023,accompanied by the peak citation count recorded in 2016.Up to December 2023,35226 citations were made to all publications,an average of 46.6 citations to each paper.The United States received the most citations(n=13531),followed by China(n=7427)and Japan(n=5754).In terms of national cooperation,China presented the highest centrality,its strongest bonds being to the United States and Japan.Among the 20 academic institutions with the most publications,ten came from China and the rest of Asia,though the University of Paris Cité,Public Assistance-Hospitals of Paris,and the National Institute of Health and Medical Research(INSERM)were the most prolific.As for individual contributions,Hisatomi H,Kaneko S,and Ide T were the three most prolific authors.Kaneko S ranked first by H-index,G-index,and overall publication count,while Zucman-Rossi J ranked first in citation count.The five most popular journals were the World Journal of Gastroenterology,Hepatology,Journal of Hepatology,Oncotarget,and Oncogene,while Nature Genetics,Hepatology,and Nature Reviews Disease Primers had the most citations.We extracted 2293 keywords from the publications,120 of which appeared more than ten times.The most frequent were HCC,telomerase and human telomerase reverse transcriptase(hTERT).Keywords such as mutational landscape,TERT promoter mutations,landscape,risk,and prognosis were among the most common issues in this field in the last three years and may be topics for research in the coming years.CONCLUSION Our bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of HCC/telomerase research and insights into promising upcoming research.展开更多
BACKGROUND Stem cell therapy has shown great potential for treating diabetic foot(DF).AIM To conduct a bibliometric analysis of studies on the use of stem cell therapy for DF over the past two decades,with the aim of ...BACKGROUND Stem cell therapy has shown great potential for treating diabetic foot(DF).AIM To conduct a bibliometric analysis of studies on the use of stem cell therapy for DF over the past two decades,with the aim of depicting the current global research landscape,identifying the most influential research hotspots,and providing insights for future research directions.METHODS We searched the Web of Science Core Collection database for all relevant studies on the use of stem cell therapy in DF.Bibliometric analysis was carried out using CiteSpace,VOSviewer,and R(4.3.1)to identify the most notable studies.RESULTS A search was conducted to identify publications related to the use of stem cells for DF treatment.A total of 542 articles published from 2000 to 2023 were identified.The United States had published the most papers on this subject.In this field,Iran’s Shahid Beheshti University Medical Sciences demonstrated the highest productivity.Furthermore,Dr.Bayat from the same university has been an outstanding researcher in this field.Stem Cell Research&Therapy is the journal with the highest number of publications in this field.The main keywords were“diabetic foot ulcers,”“wound healing,”and“angiogenesis.”CONCLUSION This study systematically illustrated the advances in the use of stem cell therapy to treat DF over the past 23 years.Current research findings suggested that the hotspots in this field include stem cell dressings,exosomes,wound healing,and adipose-derived stem cells.Future research should also focus on the clinical translation of stem cell therapies for DF.展开更多

BACKGROUND With the increasing of the global aging population,healthy aging and prevention of age-related diseases have become increasingly important.The liver,a vital organ involved in metabolism,detoxification,diges...BACKGROUND With the increasing of the global aging population,healthy aging and prevention of age-related diseases have become increasingly important.The liver,a vital organ involved in metabolism,detoxification,digestion,and immunity,holds a pivotal role in the aging process of organisms.Although extensive research on liver aging has been carried out,no bibliometric analysis has been conducted to evaluate the scientific progress in this area.AIM To analyze basic knowledge,development trends,and current research frontiers in the field via bibliometric methods.METHODS We conducted bibliometric analyses via a range of analytical tools including Python,the bibliometrix package in R,CiteSpace,and VOSviewer.We retrieved publication data on liver aging research from the Web of Science Core Collection Database.A scientific knowledge map was constructed to display the contributions from different authors,journals,countries,institutions,as well as patterns of co-occurrence keywords and co-cited references.Additionally,gene regulation pathways associated with liver aging were analyzed via the STRING database.RESULTS We identified 4288 articles on liver aging,authored by 24034 contributors from 4092 institutions across 85 countries.Notably,the years 1991 and 2020 presented significant bursts in publication output.The United States led in terms of publications(n=1008,25.1%),citations(n=55205),and international collaborations(multiple country publications=214).Keywords such as“lipid metabolism”,“fatty liver disease”,“inflammation”,“liver fibrosis”and“target”were prominent,highlighting the current research hotspots.Notably,the top 64 genes,each of which appeared in at least 8 articles,were involved in pathways essential for cell survival and aging,including the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B,Forkhead box O and p53 signaling pathways.CONCLUSION This study highlights key areas of liver aging and offers a comprehensive overview of research trends,as well as insights into potential value for collaborative pursuits and clinical implementations.展开更多

BACKGROUND:A pathophysiological feature of septic organ failure is endothelial dysfunction in sepsis(EDS).The physiological and pathological mechanism of sepsis is considered to be vascular leakage caused by endotheli...BACKGROUND:A pathophysiological feature of septic organ failure is endothelial dysfunction in sepsis(EDS).The physiological and pathological mechanism of sepsis is considered to be vascular leakage caused by endothelial dysfunction.These pathological changes lead to systemic organ injury.However,an analysis using bibliometric methods has not yet been conducted in the field of EDS.This study was conducted to provide an overview of knowledge structure and research trends in the fi eld of EDS.METHODS:Based on previous research,a literature search was performed in the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)for publications associated with EDS published between the year 2003 and 2023.Various types of data from the publications,such as citation frequency,authorship,keywords and highly cited articles,were extracted.The"Create Citation Report"feature in the WoSCC was employed to calculate the Hirsch index(h-index)and average citations per item(ACI)of authors,institutions,and countries.To conduct bibliometric and visualization analyses,three bibliometric tools were used,including R-bibliometrix,CiteSpace(co-citation analysis of references),and VOSviewer(co-authorship analysis of institutions,co-authorship analysis of authors,co-occurrence analysis of keywords).RESULTS:After excluding invalid records,the study finaly included 4,536 publications with 135,386 citations.Most of these publications originated in the USA,China,Germany,Canada,and Japan.Harvard University emerged as the most prolifi c institution,while professor Jong-Sup Bae and his research team at Kyungpook National University emerged as authors with the greatest infl uence.The"protein C","tissue factor","thrombin","glycocalyx",“acute kidney injury”,“syndecan-1”and“biomarker”were identifi ed as prominent areas of research.Future research may focus on molecular mechanisms(such as as vascular endothelial[VE]-cadherin regulation)and therapeutic interventions to enhance endothelial repair and function.CONCLUSION:Our findings show a growing interest in EDS research.Key areas for future research include signaling pathways,molecular mechanisms,endothelial repair,and interactions between endothelial cells and other cell types in sepsis.展开更多

Plant temperature acclimation is closely related to maintaining a positive carbon gain under future climate change.However,no systematic summary of the field has been conducted.Based on this,we analyzed data on plant ...Plant temperature acclimation is closely related to maintaining a positive carbon gain under future climate change.However,no systematic summary of the field has been conducted.Based on this,we analyzed data on plant temperature acclimation from the Web of Science Core Collection database using bibliometric software R,RStudio and VOSviewer.Our study demonstrated that a stabilized upward trajectory was noted in publications(298 papers)from 1986 to 2011,followed by a swift growth(373 papers)from 2012 to 2022.The most impactful journals were Plant Cell and Environment,boasting the greatest count of worldwide citations and articles,the highest H-index and G-index,followed by Global Change Biology and New Phytologist,and Frontiers in Plant Science which had the highest M-index.The USA and China were identified as the most influential countries,while Atkin was the most influential author,and the Chinese Academy of Sciences was the most influential research institution.The most cited articles were published in the Annual Review of Plant Biology in 1999.“Cold acclimation”was the most prominent keyword.Future plant temperature acclimation research is expected to focus on thermal acclimation and photosynthesis,which have important significance for future agricultural production,forestry carbon sequestration,and global food security.In general,this study provides a systematic insight of the advancement,trend,and future of plant temperature acclimation research,enhancing the comprehension of how plants will deal with forthcoming climate change.展开更多

AIM:To gain insights into the global research hotspots and trends of myopia.METHODS:Articles were downloaded from January 1,2013 to December 31,2022 from the Science Core Database website and were mainly statistically...AIM:To gain insights into the global research hotspots and trends of myopia.METHODS:Articles were downloaded from January 1,2013 to December 31,2022 from the Science Core Database website and were mainly statistically analyzed by bibliometrics software.RESULTS:A total of 444 institutions in 87 countries published 4124 articles.Between 2013 and 2022,China had the highest number of publications(n=1865)and the highest H-index(61).Sun Yat-sen University had the highest number of publications(n=229)and the highest H-index(33).Ophthalmology is the main category in related journals.Citations from 2020 to 2022 highlight keywords of options and reference,child health(pediatrics),myopic traction mechanism,public health,and machine learning,which represent research frontiers.CONCLUSION:Myopia has become a hot research field.China and Chinese institutions have the strongest academic influence in the field from 2013 to 2022.The main driver of myopic research is still medical or ophthalmologists.This study highlights the importance of public health in addressing the global rise in myopia,especially its impact on children’s health.At present,a unified theoretical system is still needed.Accurate surgical and therapeutic solutions must be proposed for people with different characteristics to manage and intervene refractive errors.In addition,the benefits of artificial intelligence(AI)models are also reflected in disease monitoring and prediction.展开更多
BACKGROUND The lack of specific symptoms of gastric cancer(GC)causes great challenges in its early diagnosis.Thus it is essential to identify the risk factors for early diagnosis and treatment of GC and to improve the...BACKGROUND The lack of specific symptoms of gastric cancer(GC)causes great challenges in its early diagnosis.Thus it is essential to identify the risk factors for early diagnosis and treatment of GC and to improve the survival rates.AIM To assist physicians in identifying changes in the output of publications and research hotspots related to risk factors for GC,constructing a list of key risk factors,and providing a reference for early identification of patients at high risk for GC.METHODS Research articles on risk factors for GC were searched in the Web of Science core collection,and relevant information was extracted after screening.The literature was analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2019,CiteSpace V,and VOSviewer 1.6.18.RESULTS A total of 2514 papers from 72 countries and 2507 research institutions were retrieved.China(n=1061),National Cancer Center(n=138),and Shoichiro Tsugane(n=36)were the most productive country,institution,or author,respectively.The research hotspots in the study of risk factors for GC are summarized in four areas,namely:Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection,single nucleotide polymorphism,bio-diagnostic markers,and GC risk prediction models.CONCLUSION In this study,we found that H.pylori infection is the most significant risk factor for GC;single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)is the most dominant genetic factor for GC;bio-diagnostic markers are the most promising diagnostic modality for GC.GC risk prediction models are the latest current research hotspot.We conclude that the most important risk factors for the development of GC are H.pylori infection,SNP,smoking,diet,and alcohol.展开更多
BACKGROUND Cerebrovascular accident(CVA)is a major global contributor to death and disability.As part of its medical management,researchers have recognized the importance of promising neuroprotective strategies,where ...BACKGROUND Cerebrovascular accident(CVA)is a major global contributor to death and disability.As part of its medical management,researchers have recognized the importance of promising neuroprotective strategies,where stem cell transplantation(SCT)is thought to confer advantages via trophic and neuroprotective effects.AIM To evaluate the current state of research on SCT in patients with CVA,assess key trends and highlight literature gaps.METHODS PubMed was screened for SCT in CVA-related articles in October 2023,for each country during the period between 2000 and 2023.Using the World Bank data,total population and gross domestic product were collected for comparison.VOSviewer_1.6.19 was used to create the VOS figure using the results of the same query.Graphs and tables were obtained using Microsoft Office Excel.RESULTS A total of 6923 studies were identified on SCT in CVA,making 0.03%of all published studies worldwide.Approximately,68%were conducted in high-income countries,with a significant focus on mesenchymal stem cells.The journal“Stroke”featured the largest share of these articles,with mesenchymal SCT having the highest rate of inclusion,followed by hematopoietic SCT.Over time,there has been a noticeable shift from in vitro studies,which assess stem cell proliferation and neurogenesis,to in vivo studies aimed at evaluating efficacy and safety.Additionally,the number of reviews increased along this approach.CONCLUSION This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive guide for physicians and researchers in the field through an objective overview of research activity,and highlights both current trends and gaps.Having a potential therapeutic role in CVA,more research is needed in the future to focus on different aspects of SCT,aiming to reach a better treatment strategy and improve life quality in patients.展开更多
文摘BACKGROUND Several bibliometric analyses have been carried out to identify research hotspots and trends in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)research.Nonetheless,there are still significant knowledge gaps that must be filled to advance our understanding of and ability to treat NAFLD.AIM To evaluate,through bibliometric and visual analysis,the current status of related research,related research frontiers,and the developmental trends in the field of diet and NAFLD.METHODS We retrieved publications about diet and NAFLD published between 1987 and 2022 from Scopus.Next,we used VOSviewer 1.6.20 to perform bibliometric analysis and visualization.RESULTS We found a total of 1905 studies,including 1637(85.93%)original articles and 195(10.24%)reviews,focused on the examination of NAFLD and its correlation with diet that were published between 1987 and 2022.Among the remaining five types of documents,38 were letters,notes,editorials,meeting minutes,or brief surveys,representing 1.99%of the total documents.The countries with the most publications on this topic were China(n=539;28.29%),followed by the United States(n=379;19.90%),Japan(n=133;6.98%),and South Korea(n=127;6.6%).According to the citation analysis,the retrieved papers were cited an average of 32.3 times and had an h-index of 106,with 61014 total citations.The two main clusters on the map included those related to:(1)Inflammation and oxidative stress;and(2)Dietary interventions for NAFLD.CONCLUSION This was the first study to use data taken from Scopus to visualize network mapping in a novel bibliometric analysis of studies focused on diet and NAFLD.After 2017,the two domains that received the most attention were“dietary interventions for NAFL”’and“‘inflammation and oxidative stress implicated in NAFLD and its correlation with diet.”We believe that this study provides important information for academics,dietitians,and doctors,and that additional research on dietary interventions and NAFLD is warranted.

文摘BACKGROUND As a critical early event in hepatocellular carcinogenesis,telomerase activation might be a promising and critical biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients,and its function in the genesis and treatment of HCC has gained much attention over the past two decades.AIM To perform a bibliometric analysis to systematically assess the current state of research on HCC-related telomerase.METHODS The Web of Science Core Collection and PubMed were systematically searched to retrieve publications pertaining to HCC/telomerase limited to“articles”and“reviews”published in English.A total of 873 relevant publications related to HCC and telomerase were identified.We employed the Bibliometrix package in R to extract and analyze the fundamental information of the publications,such as the trends in the publications,citation counts,most prolific or influential writers,and most popular journals;to screen for keywords occurring at high frequency;and to draw collaboration and cluster analysis charts on the basis of coauthorship and co-occurrences.VOSviewer was utilized to compile and visualize the bibliometric data.RESULTS A surge of 51 publications on HCC/telomerase research occurred in 2016,the most productive year from 1996 to 2023,accompanied by the peak citation count recorded in 2016.Up to December 2023,35226 citations were made to all publications,an average of 46.6 citations to each paper.The United States received the most citations(n=13531),followed by China(n=7427)and Japan(n=5754).In terms of national cooperation,China presented the highest centrality,its strongest bonds being to the United States and Japan.Among the 20 academic institutions with the most publications,ten came from China and the rest of Asia,though the University of Paris Cité,Public Assistance-Hospitals of Paris,and the National Institute of Health and Medical Research(INSERM)were the most prolific.As for individual contributions,Hisatomi H,Kaneko S,and Ide T were the three most prolific authors.Kaneko S ranked first by H-index,G-index,and overall publication count,while Zucman-Rossi J ranked first in citation count.The five most popular journals were the World Journal of Gastroenterology,Hepatology,Journal of Hepatology,Oncotarget,and Oncogene,while Nature Genetics,Hepatology,and Nature Reviews Disease Primers had the most citations.We extracted 2293 keywords from the publications,120 of which appeared more than ten times.The most frequent were HCC,telomerase and human telomerase reverse transcriptase(hTERT).Keywords such as mutational landscape,TERT promoter mutations,landscape,risk,and prognosis were among the most common issues in this field in the last three years and may be topics for research in the coming years.CONCLUSION Our bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of HCC/telomerase research and insights into promising upcoming research.

文摘BACKGROUND Stem cell therapy has shown great potential for treating diabetic foot(DF).AIM To conduct a bibliometric analysis of studies on the use of stem cell therapy for DF over the past two decades,with the aim of depicting the current global research landscape,identifying the most influential research hotspots,and providing insights for future research directions.METHODS We searched the Web of Science Core Collection database for all relevant studies on the use of stem cell therapy in DF.Bibliometric analysis was carried out using CiteSpace,VOSviewer,and R(4.3.1)to identify the most notable studies.RESULTS A search was conducted to identify publications related to the use of stem cells for DF treatment.A total of 542 articles published from 2000 to 2023 were identified.The United States had published the most papers on this subject.In this field,Iran’s Shahid Beheshti University Medical Sciences demonstrated the highest productivity.Furthermore,Dr.Bayat from the same university has been an outstanding researcher in this field.Stem Cell Research&Therapy is the journal with the highest number of publications in this field.The main keywords were“diabetic foot ulcers,”“wound healing,”and“angiogenesis.”CONCLUSION This study systematically illustrated the advances in the use of stem cell therapy to treat DF over the past 23 years.Current research findings suggested that the hotspots in this field include stem cell dressings,exosomes,wound healing,and adipose-derived stem cells.Future research should also focus on the clinical translation of stem cell therapies for DF.

文摘Cities hold a critical responsibility for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)due to their high population density,extensive resource consumption,and significant economic contributions.To examine the present state of understandings regarding urban sustainability(SDG 11:Sustainable Cities and Communities)within Chinese research communities,this study collected 15950 papers from 1994 to 2022 on the 12 indicators of SDG 11,from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),a hub of Chinese academic papers,that directly relate to policymaking.Significant research topics on SDG 11 were identified for each indicator using bibliometrics analysis approaches.The high-frequency keywords and clusters of keywords over the last three decades reveal that existing studies primarily concentrated on the physical aspects,such as transportation and environment,while there is a lack of consideration of societal aspects.This indicates a limited and biased understanding of the urban sustainability within the Chinese academic community.Hence,it is crucial to prioritize the societal aspects in order to develop a research agenda that further advances urban sustainability.

文摘BACKGROUND With the increasing of the global aging population,healthy aging and prevention of age-related diseases have become increasingly important.The liver,a vital organ involved in metabolism,detoxification,digestion,and immunity,holds a pivotal role in the aging process of organisms.Although extensive research on liver aging has been carried out,no bibliometric analysis has been conducted to evaluate the scientific progress in this area.AIM To analyze basic knowledge,development trends,and current research frontiers in the field via bibliometric methods.METHODS We conducted bibliometric analyses via a range of analytical tools including Python,the bibliometrix package in R,CiteSpace,and VOSviewer.We retrieved publication data on liver aging research from the Web of Science Core Collection Database.A scientific knowledge map was constructed to display the contributions from different authors,journals,countries,institutions,as well as patterns of co-occurrence keywords and co-cited references.Additionally,gene regulation pathways associated with liver aging were analyzed via the STRING database.RESULTS We identified 4288 articles on liver aging,authored by 24034 contributors from 4092 institutions across 85 countries.Notably,the years 1991 and 2020 presented significant bursts in publication output.The United States led in terms of publications(n=1008,25.1%),citations(n=55205),and international collaborations(multiple country publications=214).Keywords such as“lipid metabolism”,“fatty liver disease”,“inflammation”,“liver fibrosis”and“target”were prominent,highlighting the current research hotspots.Notably,the top 64 genes,each of which appeared in at least 8 articles,were involved in pathways essential for cell survival and aging,including the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B,Forkhead box O and p53 signaling pathways.CONCLUSION This study highlights key areas of liver aging and offers a comprehensive overview of research trends,as well as insights into potential value for collaborative pursuits and clinical implementations.

文摘The race to develop the next generation of wireless networks,known as Sixth Generation(6G)wireless,which will be operational in 2030,has already begun.To realize its full potential over the next decade,6G will undoubtedly necessitate additional improvements that integrate existing solutions with cutting-edge ones.However,the studies about 6G are mainly limited and scattered,whereas no bibliometric study covers the 6G field.Thus,this study aims to review,examine,and summarize existing studies and research activities in 6G.This study has examined the Scopus database through a bibliometric analysis of more than 1,000 papers published between 2017 and 2021.Then,we applied the bibliometric analysis methods by including(1)document type,(2)subject area,(3)author,and(4)country of publication.The study’s results reflect the research 6G community’s trends,highlight important research challenges,and elucidate potential directions for future research in this interesting area.

文摘AIM:To analysis of research hotspots and trends on the application of premium intraocular lens(PIOLs)in the past 2 decades.METHODS:The literature search was performed on the Web of Science and included PIOLs studies published between January 2000 and December 2022.The retrieved literature was collated and analyzed by R-tool’s Bibliometrix package,CitNetExplorer,CiteSpace and other software.RESULTS:A total of 1801 articles about PIOLs were obtained,most of which were published in Spain and the United States.The organization that published the most articles was the University of Valencia in Spain.Alió JL,and Montés-Micó R,from Spain were the most influential authors in this field.The Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Journal of Refractive Surgery were the core journals for this field;the top 10 cited articles mainly focus on postoperative satisfaction with multifocal intraocular lens(IOLs)and postoperative results of toric IOLs.Through the keyword analysis,we found that trifocal IOLs,astigmatism and extended depth of focus(EDoF)IOLs are the most discussed topics at present,and the importance of astigmatism and the clinical application of the new generation of PIOLs are the emerging research trends.CONCLUSION:Bibliometric analysis can effectively help to identify multilevel concerns in PIOLs research and the prevailing research trends in the realm of PIOLs encompass the adoption of EDoF IOLs,trifocal IOLs,and their respective Toric models.

文摘BACKGROUND:A pathophysiological feature of septic organ failure is endothelial dysfunction in sepsis(EDS).The physiological and pathological mechanism of sepsis is considered to be vascular leakage caused by endothelial dysfunction.These pathological changes lead to systemic organ injury.However,an analysis using bibliometric methods has not yet been conducted in the field of EDS.This study was conducted to provide an overview of knowledge structure and research trends in the fi eld of EDS.METHODS:Based on previous research,a literature search was performed in the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC)for publications associated with EDS published between the year 2003 and 2023.Various types of data from the publications,such as citation frequency,authorship,keywords and highly cited articles,were extracted.The"Create Citation Report"feature in the WoSCC was employed to calculate the Hirsch index(h-index)and average citations per item(ACI)of authors,institutions,and countries.To conduct bibliometric and visualization analyses,three bibliometric tools were used,including R-bibliometrix,CiteSpace(co-citation analysis of references),and VOSviewer(co-authorship analysis of institutions,co-authorship analysis of authors,co-occurrence analysis of keywords).RESULTS:After excluding invalid records,the study finaly included 4,536 publications with 135,386 citations.Most of these publications originated in the USA,China,Germany,Canada,and Japan.Harvard University emerged as the most prolifi c institution,while professor Jong-Sup Bae and his research team at Kyungpook National University emerged as authors with the greatest infl uence.The"protein C","tissue factor","thrombin","glycocalyx",“acute kidney injury”,“syndecan-1”and“biomarker”were identifi ed as prominent areas of research.Future research may focus on molecular mechanisms(such as as vascular endothelial[VE]-cadherin regulation)and therapeutic interventions to enhance endothelial repair and function.CONCLUSION:Our findings show a growing interest in EDS research.Key areas for future research include signaling pathways,molecular mechanisms,endothelial repair,and interactions between endothelial cells and other cell types in sepsis.

文摘BACKGROUND Sepsis-associated liver injury(SLI)is a severe and prevalent complication of sepsis.AIM To explore the literature on SLI via a bibliometric approach.METHODS Reviews and articles correlated with SLI published from January 1,2000 to October 28,2023 were searched from the Web of Science Core Collection.Then,the searched data were analyzed using VOSviewer,CiteSpace,and R language.RESULTS There were 787 publications involved in this paper,comprising 745 articles and 42 reviews.China,the United States,and Germany are the primary publication sources in this area.Studies related to SLI primarily focused on mechanisms of pathogenesis,as evidenced by analyzing keywords,references,and the counting of original research.These studies mainly involved tumor necrosis factor alpha,inflammation,oxidative stress,and nuclear factor-kappa B.CONCLUSION There is significant growth in the research on SLI.Current investigations primarily involve basic experiments that aimed at uncovering pathogenic mechanisms.According to the analyzed literature,the identified pathogenic mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets serve as the foundation for translating findings from basic research to clinical applications.

文摘AIM:To explore the current application and research frontiers of global ophthalmic optical coherence tomography(OCT)imaging artificial intelligence(AI)research.METHODS:The citation data were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection database(WoSCC)to evaluate the articles in application of AI in ophthalmic OCT published from January 1,2012 to December 31,2023.This information was analyzed using CiteSpace 6.2.R2 Advanced software,and high-impact articles were analyzed.RESULTS:In general,877 articles from 65 countries were studied and analyzed,of which 261 were published by the United States and 252 by China.The centrality of the United States is 0.33,the H index is 38,and the H index of two institutions in England reaches 20.Ophthalmology,computer science,and AI are the main disciplines involved.
文摘AIM:To conduct a bibliometric analysis of studies on microphthalmos and anophthalmos(M/A),explore research hotspots,and provide information on future research interests in this field to benefit clinicians and researchers.METHODS:Totally 751 publications related to M/A from the year 2004 to 2023 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection database.These publications consist of both original and review articles,that are composed in English.The contributions of different countries,institutions,journals,and authors were analyzed,and network analysis was conducted by using Microsoft Excel 2021,VOSviewer,and R Studio to visualize research hotspots.RESULTS:Among all publications included,the highest number of publications came from USA(218,29.03%).China followed with 99 publications(13.18%),and England with 86 publications(11.45%).The publications from the USA had the highest frequency of citations,with 16699 citations,and the highest H-index of 49.The American Journal of Medical Genetics Part A(43,5.73%)published the largest number of papers,and the University of London had the most publications(41,5.46%).The genetic and molecular mechanisms of M/A were still unclear and the clinical intervention for M/A had gained a lot of attention as an emerging area of interest.CONCLUSION:Data have been gathered on the yearly count of published materials and citations,as well as the rise in publication trends,the efficiency of regions or countries,authors,journals,and organizations,along with the high-cited publications in M/A.The recent trend of research has shifted from genetic mechanisms to different clinical phenotypes and corresponding clinical interventions,which can give direction to future research.

文摘Plant temperature acclimation is closely related to maintaining a positive carbon gain under future climate change.However,no systematic summary of the field has been conducted.Based on this,we analyzed data on plant temperature acclimation from the Web of Science Core Collection database using bibliometric software R,RStudio and VOSviewer.Our study demonstrated that a stabilized upward trajectory was noted in publications(298 papers)from 1986 to 2011,followed by a swift growth(373 papers)from 2012 to 2022.The most impactful journals were Plant Cell and Environment,boasting the greatest count of worldwide citations and articles,the highest H-index and G-index,followed by Global Change Biology and New Phytologist,and Frontiers in Plant Science which had the highest M-index.The USA and China were identified as the most influential countries,while Atkin was the most influential author,and the Chinese Academy of Sciences was the most influential research institution.The most cited articles were published in the Annual Review of Plant Biology in 1999.“Cold acclimation”was the most prominent keyword.Future plant temperature acclimation research is expected to focus on thermal acclimation and photosynthesis,which have important significance for future agricultural production,forestry carbon sequestration,and global food security.In general,this study provides a systematic insight of the advancement,trend,and future of plant temperature acclimation research,enhancing the comprehension of how plants will deal with forthcoming climate change.

文摘Bibliographic analysis is still very rarely used in experimental basic study papers.The comprehensive bibliometric analysis of scientific literature on research progress and challenges in stem cell therapy for diabetic chronic wounds,which was conducted in the work of Shi et al can be a case study and a source of valuable information for writing reviews and experimental papers in this field.Basic experimental studies on a role of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)in wound healing that are published in 2023-2024,such as Zhang et al in 2023,Hu et al in 2023,Wang et al in 2023 are certainly also subjects for applying this powerful tool to analyze current research,challenges and perspectives in this field.This is due to the fact that these studies have addressed a great variety of aspects of the application of MSCs for the treatment of chronic wounds,such as using both the cells themselves and their various products:Sponges,hydrogels,exosomes,and genetic constructions.Such a wide variety of directions in the field of study and biomedical application of MSCs requires a deep understanding of the current state of research in this area,which can be provided by bibliometric analysis.Thus,the use of such elements of bibliographic analysis as publication count by year and analysis of top-10 keywords calculated independently or cited from bibliometric analysis studies can be safely recommended for every basic study manuscripts,primarily for the“Introduction”section,and review.

文摘BACKGROUND Glycosylation,a commonly occurring post-translational modification,is highly expressed in several tumors,specifically in those of the digestive system,and plays a role in various cellular pathophysiological mechanisms.Although the importance and detection methods of glycosylation in digestive system tumors have garnered increasing attention in recent years,bibliometric analysis of this field remains scarce.The present study aims to identify the developmental trends and research hotspots of glycosylation in digestive system tumors.AIM To find and identify the developmental trends and research hotspots of glycosylation in digestive system tumors.METHODS We obtained relevant literature from the Web of Science Core Collection and employed VOSviewer 1.6.19 and CiteSpace(version 6.1.R6)to perform bibliometric analysis.RESULTS A total of 2042 documents spanning from 1978 to the present were analyzed,with the research process divided into three phases:the period of obscurity(1978-1990),continuous development period(1991-2006),and the rapid outbreak period(2007-2023).These documents were authored by researchers from 66 countries or regions,with the United States and China leading in terms of publication output.Reis Celso A had the highest number of publications,while Pinho SS was the most cited author.Co-occurrence analysis revealed the most popular keywords in this field are glycosylation,expression,cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreatic cancer.Furthermore,the Journal of Proteome Research was the most prolific journal in terms of publications,while the Journal of Biological Chemistry had the most citations.CONCLUSION The bibliometric analysis shows current research focus is primarily on basic research in this field.However,future research should aim to utilize glycosylation as a target for treating tumor patients.
文摘BACKGROUND Depression is strongly associated with colorectal cancer(CRC).Few bibliometric analyses have systematically summarized the research focus and recent progress in this field.AIM To determine the research status and hotspots by bibliometric analysis of relevant publications on the relationship between CRC and depression.METHODS Articles on depression in CRC patients were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection.CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were used to visualize bibliometric networks.RESULTS From 2001 to 2022,Supportive Care in Cancer,the United States,Tilburg University,and Mols were the most productive and influential journal,country,institution,and author name.Co-occurrence cluster analysis of keywords placed quality of life,anxiety,and psychological stress in the center of the visual network diagram.Further clustering was performed for the clusters with studies of the relevant mechanism of action,which showed that:(1)Cytokines have a role essential for the occurrence and development of depressive disorders in CRC;(2)MicroRNAs have a role essential for the development of depressive disorders in CRC;(3)Some anticancer drugs have pro-depressant activity;and(4)Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors have both antitumor and antidepressant activity.CONCLUSION Life quality and psychological nursing of the cancer population were key topics.The roles of cytokines and microRNAs,the pro-depression activity of anticancer drugs and their antitumor properties deserve in-depth study.

文摘Biological soil crusts(BSCs)play an important role in soil development and ecological function,and it is more important for quantitatively analyzing the processes and trends of BSCs to identify the advantages and disadvantages of BSCs research for the development and application of BSCs theory.Bibliometric analysis of 2,186 BSCs literatures from Web of Science showed an exponential growth trend,as China and the United States as the top 2 in terms of publication volume.High quality publications are mainly from European and American countries,such as the United States,Germany and Spain.The top 3 publishers are Journal of Arid Environments,Soil Biology&Biochemistry and Plant and Soil,and disciplines include ecology,environmental science,and soil science,etc..Research institutions mainly affiliate to the Chinese Academy of Sciences,United States Department of the Interior,United States Geological Survey,Hebrew University of Jerusalem,Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas,and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.Authors mainly come from United States,Israel,Spain and China.Funds are mainly from the National Natural Science Foundation of China,Spanish Government,Chinese Academy of Sciences,and National Science Foundation of the United States.Biological soil crusts(biocrusts,cyanobacteria,lichens,moss crusts,bryophytes),drylands,climate change,photosynthesis and desert are high-frequency keywords.Future research will focus on the driving mechanisms of BSCs on global biogeochemical cycles,maintaining global biodiversity on important ecological processes,global C,N,and P cycles.The impact on biological invasion,sandstorms,and water balance,multifunctional and reciprocal mechanisms for maintaining the stability of desert and sandy ecosystems,and impact on the formulation of management policies for arid ecosystems,corresponding to global climate change,and the estimation of regional,local,and microscale distribution of BSCs based on machine deep learning modeling gradually focus on.The ecosystem service functions of BSCs,the soil and water conservation and soil stability mediated by BSCs in arid and semi-arid regions,and the excavation of stress resistant genes for BSCs will be emphasized.

文摘AIM:To gain insights into the global research hotspots and trends of myopia.METHODS:Articles were downloaded from January 1,2013 to December 31,2022 from the Science Core Database website and were mainly statistically analyzed by bibliometrics software.RESULTS:A total of 444 institutions in 87 countries published 4124 articles.Between 2013 and 2022,China had the highest number of publications(n=1865)and the highest H-index(61).Sun Yat-sen University had the highest number of publications(n=229)and the highest H-index(33).Ophthalmology is the main category in related journals.Citations from 2020 to 2022 highlight keywords of options and reference,child health(pediatrics),myopic traction mechanism,public health,and machine learning,which represent research frontiers.CONCLUSION:Myopia has become a hot research field.China and Chinese institutions have the strongest academic influence in the field from 2013 to 2022.The main driver of myopic research is still medical or ophthalmologists.This study highlights the importance of public health in addressing the global rise in myopia,especially its impact on children’s health.At present,a unified theoretical system is still needed.Accurate surgical and therapeutic solutions must be proposed for people with different characteristics to manage and intervene refractive errors.In addition,the benefits of artificial intelligence(AI)models are also reflected in disease monitoring and prediction.

文摘BACKGROUND The lack of specific symptoms of gastric cancer(GC)causes great challenges in its early diagnosis.Thus it is essential to identify the risk factors for early diagnosis and treatment of GC and to improve the survival rates.AIM To assist physicians in identifying changes in the output of publications and research hotspots related to risk factors for GC,constructing a list of key risk factors,and providing a reference for early identification of patients at high risk for GC.METHODS Research articles on risk factors for GC were searched in the Web of Science core collection,and relevant information was extracted after screening.The literature was analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2019,CiteSpace V,and VOSviewer 1.6.18.RESULTS A total of 2514 papers from 72 countries and 2507 research institutions were retrieved.China(n=1061),National Cancer Center(n=138),and Shoichiro Tsugane(n=36)were the most productive country,institution,or author,respectively.The research hotspots in the study of risk factors for GC are summarized in four areas,namely:Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection,single nucleotide polymorphism,bio-diagnostic markers,and GC risk prediction models.CONCLUSION In this study,we found that H.pylori infection is the most significant risk factor for GC;single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)is the most dominant genetic factor for GC;bio-diagnostic markers are the most promising diagnostic modality for GC.GC risk prediction models are the latest current research hotspot.We conclude that the most important risk factors for the development of GC are H.pylori infection,SNP,smoking,diet,and alcohol.
文摘BACKGROUND Cerebrovascular accident(CVA)is a major global contributor to death and disability.As part of its medical management,researchers have recognized the importance of promising neuroprotective strategies,where stem cell transplantation(SCT)is thought to confer advantages via trophic and neuroprotective effects.AIM To evaluate the current state of research on SCT in patients with CVA,assess key trends and highlight literature gaps.METHODS PubMed was screened for SCT in CVA-related articles in October 2023,for each country during the period between 2000 and 2023.Using the World Bank data,total population and gross domestic product were collected for comparison.VOSviewer_1.6.19 was used to create the VOS figure using the results of the same query.Graphs and tables were obtained using Microsoft Office Excel.RESULTS A total of 6923 studies were identified on SCT in CVA,making 0.03%of all published studies worldwide.Approximately,68%were conducted in high-income countries,with a significant focus on mesenchymal stem cells.The journal“Stroke”featured the largest share of these articles,with mesenchymal SCT having the highest rate of inclusion,followed by hematopoietic SCT.Over time,there has been a noticeable shift from in vitro studies,which assess stem cell proliferation and neurogenesis,to in vivo studies aimed at evaluating efficacy and safety.Additionally,the number of reviews increased along this approach.CONCLUSION This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive guide for physicians and researchers in the field through an objective overview of research activity,and highlights both current trends and gaps.Having a potential therapeutic role in CVA,more research is needed in the future to focus on different aspects of SCT,aiming to reach a better treatment strategy and improve life quality in patients.
