However, how to select the task scheduling location to reduce taskdelay and cost while ensuring the data security and reliable communicationof edge computing remains a challenge. To solve this problem, this paperestablishes a task scheduling model with joint blockchain and task cachingin the industrial internet and designs a novel blockchain-assisted cachingmechanism to enhance system security. In this paper, the task schedulingproblem, which couples the task scheduling decision, task caching decision, and blockchain reward, is formulated as the minimum weighted cost problemunder delay constraints. This is a mixed integer nonlinear problem, which isproved to be nonconvex and NP-hard. To solve the optimal solution, thispaper proposes a task scheduling strategy algorithm based on an improvedgenetic algorithm (IGA-TSPA) by improving the genetic algorithm initializationand mutation operations to reduce the size of the initial solutionspace and enhance the optimal solution convergence speed. In addition,an Improved Least Frequently Used algorithm is proposed to improve thecontent hit rate. Simulation results show that IGA-TSPA has a faster optimalsolution-solving ability and shorter running time compared with the existingedge computing scheduling algorithms. The established task scheduling modelnot only saves 62.19% of system overhead consumption in comparison withlocal computing but also has great significance in protecting data security, reducing task processing delay, and reducing system cost.展开更多

文摘Deploying task caching at edge servers has become an effectiveway to handle compute-intensive and latency-sensitive tasks on the industrialinternet. The established task scheduling modelnot only saves 62.19% of system overhead consumption in comparison withlocal computing but also has great significance in protecting data security, reducing task processing delay, and reducing system cost.

文摘Cell-free Wireless Heterogeneous Networks(HetNets)have emerged as a technological alternative for conventional cellular networks. In this paper,we study the spatially correlative caching strategy, the energy analysis, and the impact of parameter β on the total energy cost of the cell-free wireless HetNets with Access Points distributed by Beta Ginibre Point Process(β-GPP).We derive the approximate expression of Successful Delivery Probability(SDP)based on the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio coverage model. From both analytical and simulation results,it is shown that the proposed caching model based on β-GPP placement, which jointly takes into account path loss, fading, and interference, can closely simulate the caching performance of the cell-free HetNets in terms of SDP.By guaranteeing the outage probability constraints, the analytical expression of the uplink energy cost is also derived.Another conclusion is that with AP locations modeled by β-GPP,the power consumption is not sensitive to β,but is sensitive to the dimension of the kernel function;hence β is less restrictive, and only the truncation of the Ginibre kernel has to be appropriately modified. These findings are new compared with the existing literature where the nodes are commonly assumed to be of Poisson Point Process,Matern Hard-Core Process,or Poisson Cluster Process deployment in cell-free systems.

文摘The growing demand for low delay vehicular content has put tremendous strain on the backbone network. As a promising alternative, cooperative content caching among different cache nodes can reduce content access delay. However, heterogeneous cache nodes have different communication modes and limited caching capacities. In addition, the high mobility of vehicles renders the more complicated caching environment. Therefore, performing efficient cooperative caching becomes a key issue. In this paper,we propose a cross-tier cooperative caching architecture for all contents, which allows the distributed cache nodes to cooperate. Then,we devise the communication link and content caching model to facilitate timely content delivery.Aiming at minimizing transmission delay and cache cost,an optimization problem is formulated.Furthermore,we use a multi-agent deep reinforcement learning(MADRL)approach to model the decision-making process for caching among heterogeneous cache nodes, where each agent interacts with the environment collectively, receives observations yet a common reward, and learns its own optimal policy.Extensive simulations validate that the MADRL approach can enhance hit ratio while reducing transmission delay and cache cost.

文摘Computing-intensive and latency-sensitive user requests pose significant challenges to traditional cloud computing. In response to these challenges, mobile edge computing(MEC)has emerged as a new paradigm that extends the computational, caching, and communication capabilities of cloud computing.By caching certain services on edge nodes, computational support can be provided for requests that are offloaded to the edges. However, previous studies on task offloading have generally not considered the impact of caching mechanisms and the cache space occupied by services. This oversight can lead to problems, such as high delays in task executions and invalidation of offloading decisions. To optimize task response time and ensure the availability of task offloading decisions,we investigate a task offloading method that considers caching mechanism.First,we incorporate the cache information of MEC into the model of task offloading and reduce the task offloading problem as a mixed integer nonlinear programming(MINLP)problem. Then,we propose an integer particle swarm optimization and improved genetic algorithm(IPSO_IGA)to solve the MINLP.IPSO_IGA exploits the evolutionary framework of particle swarm optimization. And it uses a crossover operator to update the positions of particles and an improved mutation operator to maintain the diversity of particles. Finally, extensive simulation experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. The experimental results demonstrate that IPSO_IGA can save 20%to 82%of the task completion time, compared with state-of-theart and classical algorithms.Moreover,IPSO_IGA is suitable for scenarios with complex network structures and computing-intensive tasks.

文摘Cache-enabling unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)are considered for storing popular contents and providing downlink data offloading in cellular networks. In this context,we formulate a joint optimization problem of user association, caching placement, and backhaul bandwidth allocation for minimizing content acquisition delay with consideration of UAVs’energy constraint. We decompose the formulated problem into two subproblems:i)user association and caching placement and ii)backhaul bandwidth allocation. We first obtain the optimal bandwidth allocation with given user association and caching placement by the Lagrangian multiplier approach. After that, embedding the backhaul bandwidth allocation algorithm,we solve the user association and caching placement problem by a threedimensional(3D)matching method. Then we decompose it into two two-dimensional(2D)matching problems and develop low-complexity algorithms. The proposed scheme converges and exhibits a low computational complexity.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed cache-enabling UAV framework outperforms the conventional UAV-assisted cellular networks in terms of content acquisition delay and the proposed scheme achieves significantly lower content acquisition delay compared with other two benchmark schemes.

文摘In this paper,we reveal the fundamental limitation of network densification on the performance of caching enabled small cell network(CSCN)under two typical user association rules, namely, contentand distance-based rules. It indicates that immoderately caching content would significantly change the interference distribution in CSCN,which may degrade the network area spectral efficiency(ASE).Meanwhile,it is shown that content-based rule outperforms the distance-based rule in terms of network ASE only when small cell base stations(BSs)are sparsely deployed with low decoding thresholds. Moreover,it is proved that network ASE under distance-based user association serves as the upper bound of that under content-based rule in dense BS regime. To enable more spectrum-efficient user association in dense CSCN,we further optimize network ASE by designing a probabilistic content retrieving strategy based on distance-based rule. With the optimized retrieving probability, network ASE could be substantially enhanced and even increase with the growing BS density in dense BS regime.

文摘In coded caching, users cache pieces of files under a specific arrangement so that the server can satisfy their requests simultaneously in the broadcast scenario via e Xclusive OR(XOR)operation and therefore reduce the amount of transmission data. However, when users’locations are changing, the uploading of caching information is frequent and extensive that the traffic increase outweighed the traffic reduction that the traditional coded caching achieved. In this paper,we propose mobile coded caching schemes to reduce network traffic in mobility scenarios, which achieve a lower cost on caching information uploading. In the cache placement phase, the proposed scheme first constructs caching patterns, and then assigns the caching patterns to users according to the graph coloring method and four color theorem in our centralized cache placement algorithm or randomly in our decentralized cache placement algorithm. Then users are divided into groups based on their caching patterns. As a benefit, when user movements occur, the types of caching pattern, rather than the whole caching information of which file pieces are cached, are uploaded. In the content delivery phase,XOR coded caching messages are reconstructed.Transmission data volume is derived to measure the performance of the proposed schemes.Numerical results show that the proposed schemes achieve great improvement in traffic offloading.

文摘An Information-Centric Network(ICN)provides a promising paradigm for the upcoming internet architecture, which will struggle with steady growth in data and changes in accessmodels.Various ICN architectures have been designed, including Named Data Networking(NDN),which is designed around content delivery instead of hosts. As data is the central part of the network. Therefore,NDN was developed to get rid of the dependency on IP addresses and provide content effectively.Mobility is one of the major research dimensions for this upcoming internet architecture. Some research has been carried out to solve the mobility issues, but it still has problems like handover delay and packet loss ratio during real-time video streaming in the case of consumer and producer mobility. To solve this issue,an efficient hierarchical Cluster Base Proactive Caching for Device Mobility Management(CB-PC-DMM)in NDN Vehicular Networks(NDN-VN)is proposed, through which the consumer receives the contents proactively after handover during the mobility of the consumer. When a consumer moves to the next destination,a handover interest is sent to the connected router, then the router multicasts the consumer’s desired data packet to the next hop of neighboring routers. Thus, once the handover process is completed, consumers can easily get the content to the newly connected router.A CB-PCDMM in NDN-VN is proposed that improves the packet delivery ratio and reduces the handover delay aswell as cluster overhead. Moreover, the intra and inter-domain handover handling procedures in CB-PC-DMM for NDN-VN have been described. For the validation of our proposed scheme,MATLAB simulations are conducted. The simulation results show that our proposed scheme reduces the handover delay and increases the consumer’s interest satisfaction ratio. The proposed scheme is compared with the existing stateof-the-art schemes, and the total percentage of handover delays is decreased by up to 0.1632%,0.3267%,2.3437%,2.3255%,and 3.7313%at the mobility speeds of 5 m/s,10 m/s,15 m/s,20 m/s,and 25 m/s,and the efficiency of the packet delivery ratio is improved by up to 1.2048%,5.0632%,6.4935%,6.943%,and 8.4507%.Furthermore,the simulation results of our proposed scheme show better efficiency in terms of Packet Delivery Ratio(PDR)from 0.071 to 0.077 and a decrease in the handover delay from 0.1334 to 0.129.

文摘Concerned with the surge of contentcentric applications,it is challenging to balance network traffic and cater to low-delay requirements.Hierarchical caching architecture of both edge network(EN)and core network(CN)emerges and leverages caching resources to reduce the delivery delay of contents. Most previous work takes an impractical assumption to treat the CN as a content provider, which neglects the collaboration by intermediate CN caches. Most importantly,it is still necessary to thoroughly study the tradeoff between CN delay and edge delay for files delivery so as to minimize the overall delivery delay across the network. In this paper,we consider a hierarchical caching network with distributed CN nodes and edge nodes, where cooperative transmission is enabled for edge nodes to transmit multi-files simultaneously. This poses a joint optimization problem of hierarchical file caching and fetching to minimize the overall delivery delay of requests.Since the problem is NP-hard,we decompose the original problem and design an iterative algorithm to address it.Numerical results validate that the proposed scheme can find a balanced solution between lowering edge delay by utilizing coordinated CN caching and lowering CN delay by solely relying on edge caching.

文摘With the development of internet of vehicles, the traditional centralized content caching mode transmits content through the core network, which causes a large delay and cannot meet the demands for delay-sensitive services. To solve these problems,on basis of vehicle caching network,we propose an edge colla-borative caching scheme.Road side unit(RSU)and mobile edge computing(MEC)are used to collect vehicle information, predict and cache popular content, thereby provide low-latency content delivery services. However, the storage capa-city of a single RSU severely limits the edge caching performance and cannot handle intensive content requests at the same time.Through content sharing,col-laborative caching can relieve the storage burden on caching servers. Therefore,we integrate RSU and collaborative caching to build a MEC-assisted vehicle edge collaborative caching(MVECC)scheme,so as to realize the collaborative caching among cloud, edge and vehicle.MVECC uses deep reinforcement learning to pre-dict what needs to be cached on RSU,which enables RSUs to cache more popular content. In addition,MVECC also introduces a mobility-aware caching replace-ment scheme at the edge network to reduce redundant cache and improving cache efficiency, which allows RSU to dynamically replace the cached content in response to the mobility of vehicles. The simulation results show that the pro-posed MVECC scheme can improve cache performance in terms of energy cost and content hit rate.
