Secret sharing is a promising technology for information encryption by splitting the secret information into different shares.However,the traditional scheme suffers from information leakage in decryption process since the amount of available information channels is limited.Herein,we propose and demonstrate an optical secret sharing framework based on the multi-dimensional multiplexing liquid crystal(LC)holograms.The LC holograms are used as spatially separated shares to carry secret images.The polarization of the incident light and the distance between different shares are served as secret keys,which can significantly improve the information security and capacity.Besides,the decryption condition is also restricted by the applied external voltage due to the variant diffraction efficiency,which further increases the information security.In implementation,an artificial neural network(ANN)model is developed to carefully design the phase distribution of each LC hologram.With the advantage of high security,high capacity and simple configuration,our optical secret sharing framework has great potentials in optical encryption and dynamic holographic display. 展开更多

Optical neural networks have significant advantages in terms of power consumption,parallelism,and high computing speed,which has intrigued extensive attention in both academic and engineering communities.It has been considered as one of the powerful tools in promoting the fields of imaging processing and object recognition.However,the existing optical system architecture cannot be reconstructed to the realization of multi-functional artificial intelligence systems simultaneously.To push the development of this issue,we propose the pluggable diffractive neural networks(P-DNN),a general paradigm resorting to the cascaded metasurfaces,which can be applied to recognize various tasks by switching internal plug-ins.As the proof-of-principle,the recognition functions of six types of handwritten digits and six types of fashions are numerical simulated and experimental demonstrated at near-infrared regimes.Encouragingly,the proposed paradigm not only improves the flexibility of the optical neural networks but paves the new route for achieving high-speed,low-power and versatile artificial intelligence systems. 展开更多

Inner Cascaded U^(2)-Net:An Improvement to Plain Cascaded U-Net

Deep neural networks are now widely used in the medical image segmentation field for their performance superiority and no need of manual feature extraction.U-Net has been the baseline model since the very beginning due to a symmetricalU-structure for better feature extraction and fusing and suitable for small datasets.To enhance the segmentation performance of U-Net,cascaded U-Net proposes to put two U-Nets successively to segment targets from coarse to fine.However,the plain cascaded U-Net faces the problem of too less between connections so the contextual information learned by the former U-Net cannot be fully used by the latter one.In this article,we devise novel Inner Cascaded U-Net and Inner Cascaded U^(2)-Net as improvements to plain cascaded U-Net for medical image segmentation.The proposed Inner Cascaded U-Net adds inner nested connections between two U-Nets to share more contextual information.To further boost segmentation performance,we propose Inner Cascaded U^(2)-Net,which applies residual U-block to capture more global contextual information from different scales.The proposed models can be trained from scratch in an end-to-end fashion and have been evaluated on Multimodal Brain Tumor Segmentation Challenge(BraTS)2013 and ISBI Liver Tumor Segmentation Challenge(LiTS)dataset in comparison to related U-Net,cascaded U-Net,U-Net++,U^(2)-Net and state-of-the-art methods.Our experiments demonstrate that our proposed Inner Cascaded U-Net and Inner Cascaded U^(2)-Net achieve better segmentation performance in terms of dice similarity coefficient and hausdorff distance as well as get finer outline segmentation. 展开更多

Modern large-scale enterprise systems produce large volumes of logs that record detailed system runtime status and key events at key points.These logs are valuable for analyzing performance issues and understanding the status of the system.Anomaly detection plays an important role in service management and system maintenance,and guarantees the reliability and security of online systems.Logs are universal semi-structured data,which causes difficulties for traditional manual detection and pattern-matching algorithms.While some deep learning algorithms utilize neural networks to detect anomalies,these approaches have an over-reliance on manually designed features,resulting in the effectiveness of anomaly detection depending on the quality of the features.At the same time,the aforementioned methods ignore the underlying contextual information present in adjacent log entries.We propose a novel model called Logformer with two cascaded transformer-based heads to capture latent contextual information from adjacent log entries,and leverage pre-trained embeddings based on logs to improve the representation of the embedding space.The proposed model achieves comparable results on HDFS and BGL datasets in terms of metric accuracy,recall and F1-score.Moreover,the consistent rise in F1-score proves that the representation of the embedding spacewith pre-trained embeddings is closer to the semantic information of the log. 展开更多

Present day power scenarios demand a high quality uninterrupted power supply and needs environmental issues to be addressed. Both concerns can be dealt with by the introduction of the renewable sources to the existing power system. Thus, automatic generation control(AGC) with diverse renewable sources and a modified-cascaded controller are presented in the paper.Also, a new hybrid scheme of the improved teaching learning based optimization-differential evolution(hITLBO-DE) algorithm is applied for providing optimization of controller parameters. A study of the system with a technique such as TLBO applied to a proportional integral derivative(PID), integral double derivative(IDD) and PIDD is compared to hITLBO-DE tuned cascaded controller with dynamic load change.The suggested methodology has been extensively applied to a 2-area system with a diverse source power system with various operation time non-linearities such as dead-band of, generation rate constraint and reheat thermal units. The multi-area system with reheat thermal plants, hydel plants and a unit of a wind-diesel combination is tested with the cascaded controller scheme with a different controller setting for each area. The variation of the load is taken within 1% to 5% of the connected load and robustness analysis is shown by modifying essential factors simultaneously by± 30%. Finally, the proposed scheme of controller and optimization technique is also tested with a 5-equal area thermal system with non-linearities. The simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed controller and algorithm under a dynamically changing load. 展开更多

Effective information fusion is very important in hybrid source localization. In this paper, the performance analysis of conventional joint direction of arrival(DOA) and time difference of arrival(TDOA) system is derived and it is shown that this hybrid system may inferior to the single system when the ratio of angular measurements error to distance measurements error exceeds a threshold. To avoid this problem, an effective DOA/TDOA adaptive cascaded(DTAC) technique is presented. The rotation feature of UAVs and spatial filtering technique are applied to gain the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR), which leads to more accurate estimation of time delay by using DOAs. Nevertheless, the time delay estimation precision is still limited by the sampling frequency, which is constrained by the finite load of UAV. To break through the limitation, an enhanced self-delay-compensation(SDC) method is proposed, which aims at detecting the overlooked time delay within the sampling interval by adding a tiny time delay. Finally, the position of the source is estimated by the Chan algorithm. Compared to DOA-only algorithm, TDOA-only algorithm and joint DOA/TDOA(JDT) algorithm, the proposed method shows better localization accuracy regardless of different SNRs and sampling frequencies. With the high penetration of renewable energy,new challenges,such as power fluctuation suppression and inertial support capability,have arisen in the power sector.Battery energy storage systems play an essential role in renewable energy integration.In this paper,a distributed virtual synchronous generator(VSG)control method for a battery energy storage system(BESS)with a cascaded H-bridge converter in a grid-connected mode is proposed.The VSG is developed without communication dependence,and state-of-charge(SOC)balancing control is achieved using the distributed average algorithm.Owing to the low varying speed of SOC,the bandwidth of the distributed communication networks is extremely slow,which decreases the cost.Therefore,the proposed method can simultaneously provide inertial support and accurate SOC balancing.The stability is also proved using root locus analysis.Finally,simulations under different conditions are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

We propose a cascaded plasmonic nanorod antenna for large broadband electric near-field enhancement. The structure has one big gold nanorod on each side of a small two-wire antenna which consists of two small gold nanorods. For each small nanorod, the enhanced and broadened optical response can be obtained due to the efficient energy transfer from its adjacent big nanorod through strong plasmonic near-field coupling. Thus, the electric field intensity of the cascaded antenna is significantly larger and broader than that of the individual small two-wire antenna. The resonant position, field intensity enhancement, and spectral width of the cascaded antenna are highly tunable by varying the geometry of the system. The quantum efficiency of the cascaded antenna is also greatly enhanced compared with that of the small antenna. Our results are important for the applications in field-enhanced spectroscopy. 展开更多

A new compact cascaded arc device for plasma-wall interaction study is developed at the Institute of Plasma Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences.A magnetic field up to 0.8 T is achieved to confine plasmas in a 1.2 m long and 0.1 m diameter vacuum chamber.Gas fluid type analysis in this compact vacuum system was done under high particle flux condition.The gas pressure obtained by calculation was consistent with the measurement result.Continuous argon plasma discharge with ion flux of~0.5×10^(24)m^(-2)s^(-1)is successfully sustained for more than 1h.The effects of magnetic field configuration,gas flow rate,and discharge arc current on the ion flux to target were studied in detail. 展开更多

A radial cascaded composite ultrasonic transducer is analyzed.The transducer consists of three short metal tubes and two radially polarized piezoelectric ceramic short tubes arranged alternately along the radial direction.The short metal tubes and the piezoelectric ceramic short tubes are connected in parallel electrically and in series mechanically,which can multiply the input sound power and sound intensity.Based on the theory of plane stress,the electro-mechanical equivalent circuit of radial vibration of the transducer is derived firstly.The resonance/anti-resonance frequency equation and the expression of the effective electromechanical coupling coefficient are obtained.Excellent electromechanical characteristics are determined by changing the radial geometric dimensions.Two prototypes of the transducers are designed and manufactured to support the analytical theory.It is concluded that the theoretical resonance/anti-resonance frequencies are consistent with the numerical and experimental results.When R_(2) is at certain values,both the anti-resonance frequency and effective electromechanical coupling coefficient corresponding to the second mode have maximal values.The radial cascaded composite ultrasonic transducer is expected to be used in the fields of ultrasonic water treatment and underwater acoustics. 展开更多

This script depicts the power quality intensification of Wind Energy Transfer System (WETS) using Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) and Cascaded Multi Cell Trans-Z-Source Inverter (CMCTZSI). The PMSG knocks the induction generator and earlier generators, because of their stimulating performances without taking the frame power. The Trans-Z-Source Inverter with one transformer and one capacitor is connected newly. To increase the boosting ratio gratuity a cascaded impression is proposed with adopting multi-winding transformer which provides an option for this manuscript to use coupled inductor as an alternative of multi-winding transformer and remains the matching voltage gain as cascaded multi cell trans-Z- source inverter. Accordingly the parallel capacitances are also balancing the voltage gain. The parallel correlation of the method is essentially to trim down the voltage stresses and to improve the input current gain of the inverter. By using MALAB Simulation, harmonics can be reduced up to 1.32% and also DC side can be boosted up our required level 200 - 1000 V achievable. The new hardware setup results demonstrate to facilitate the multi cell Trans Z-source inverter. This can be generated high-voltage gain [50 V - 1000 V] and also be credible. Moreover, the level of currents, voltages and Harmonics on the machinery is low. 展开更多

Recently,Siamese-based trackers have achieved excellent performance in object tracking.However,the high speed and deformation of objects in the movement process make tracking difficult.Therefore,we have incorporated cascaded region-proposal-network(RPN)fusion and coordinate attention into Siamese trackers.The proposed network framework consists of three parts:a feature-extraction sub-network,coordinate attention block,and cascaded RPN block.We exploit the coordinate attention block,which can embed location information into channel attention,to establish long-term spatial location dependence while maintaining channel associations.Thus,the features of different layers are enhanced by the coordinate attention block.We then send these features separately into the cascaded RPN for classification and regression.According to the two classification and regression results,the final position of the target is obtained.To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,we conducted comprehensive experiments on the OTB100,VOT2016,UAV123,and GOT-10k datasets.Compared with other state-of-the-art trackers,the proposed tracker achieved good performance and can run at real-time speed. 展开更多

An ultra-broadband perfect absorber consisting of cascaded nanodisk arrays is demonstrated by placing insulatormetal-insulator-metal nanodisks on insulator-metal film stacks.The absorber shows over 90% absorption in a wavelength range between 600 nm and 4000 nm under transverse magnetic(TM) polarization,with an average absorptivity of 91.5%and a relative absorption bandwidth of 147.8%.The analysis of the electric field and magnetic field show that the synergy of localized surface plasmons,propagating surface plasmons,and plasmonic resonant cavity modes leads to the ultrabroadband perfect absorption,which accords well with the results of impedance-matched analysis.The influences of structural parameters and different metal materials on absorption performance are discussed.Furthermore,the absorber is polarization-independent,and the absorption remains more than 90% at a wide incident angle up to 400 under TE polarization and TM polarization.The designed ultra-broadband absorber has promising prospects in photoelectric detection and imaging. 展开更多

A 3D laser scanning strategy based on cascaded deep neural network is proposed for the scanning system converted from 2D Lidar with a pitching motion device. The strategy is aimed at moving target detection and monitoring. Combining the device characteristics, the strategy first proposes a cascaded deep neural network, which inputs 2D point cloud, color image and pitching angle. The outputs are target distance and speed classification. And the cross-entropy loss function of network is modified by using focal loss and uniform distribution to improve the recognition accuracy. Then a pitching range and speed model are proposed to determine pitching motion parameters. Finally, the adaptive scanning is realized by integral separate speed PID. The experimental results show that the accuracies of the improved network target detection box, distance and speed classification are 90.17%, 96.87% and 96.97%, respectively. The average speed error of the improved PID is 0.4239°/s, and the average strategy execution time is 0.1521 s.The range and speed model can effectively reduce the collection of useless information and the deformation of the target point cloud. Conclusively, the experimental of overall scanning strategy show that it can improve target point cloud integrity and density while ensuring the capture of target. 展开更多

With the development of research on integrated photonic quantum information processing,the integration level of the integrated quantum photonic circuits has been increasing continuously,which makes the calibration of the phase shifters on the chip increasingly difficult.For the calibration of multiple cascaded phase shifters that is not easy to be decoupled,the resources consumed by conventional brute force methods increase exponentially with the number of phase shifters,making it impossible to calibrate a relatively large number of cascaded phase shifters.In this work,we experimentally validate an efficient method for calibrating cascaded phase shifters that achieves an exponential increase in calibration efficiency compared to the conventional method,thus solving the calibration problem for multiple cascaded phase shifters.Specifically,we experimentally calibrate an integrated quantum photonic circuit with nine cascaded phase shifters and achieve a high-precision calibration with an average fidelity of 99.26%. 展开更多
