The results show that the major factors influencing the hardness of austempered ductile iron(ADI) are austenitizing temperature and austempering temperature. The fraction of retained austenite increases as the austenitizing and austempering temperatures increase. When austenitizing temperature is low, acicular ferrite and retained austenite can be effi ciently obtained by appropriately extending the austenitizing time. The proper austmepering time could ensure enough stability of retained austenite and prevent high carbon austenite decomposition. The optimal mechanical properties of ADI can be achieved with the following process parameters: austenitizing temperature and time are 866 °C and 135 min, and austempering temperature and time are 279 °C and 135 min, respectively. The microstructure of ADI under the optimal austempering process consists of fi ne acicular ferrite and a small amount of retained austenite, and the hardness, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and impact toughness of the bars are HBW 476, 1670 MPa, 1428 MPa, 2.93% and 25.7 J, respectively.展开更多

Unlike the full optimization of LR problems in traditional LR approaches, the machine capacity relaxation is optimized asymptotically, while the precedence relaxation is optimized approximately due to the NP-hard nature of its LR problem. Because the standard subgradient algorithm(SSA) cannot solve the Lagrangian dual(LD) problem within the partial optimization of LR problem, an effective deflected-conditional approximate subgradient level algorithm(DCASLA) was developed, named as Lagrangian relaxation level approach. The efficiency of the DCASLA is enhanced by a deflected-conditional epsilon-subgradient to weaken the possible zigzagging phenomena. Computational results and comparisons show that the proposed methods improve significantly the efficiency of the LR approach and the DCASLA adopting capacity relaxation strategy performs best among eight methods in terms of solution quality and running time.展开更多

Using the model, the numerical simulation of the momentum and heat transfer of molten metal was carried out in the SCC system. The obtained results fit well with the measured ones. Moreover, using the numerical simulating software, the effect of various factors on breakout and breakage was explored. The larger the heat flow density of copper mold, or the shorter the withdrawal beginning time, the more stable the semisolid continuous casting process. [展开更多

Based on it,a cross entropy( CE) method is adopted and an improved cross entropy( ICE) algorithm is proposed to solve the SCCPS problem to minimize total power consumption. To describe the distribution of the solution space of the CE method,a probability model is built and used to generate individuals by sampling and a probability updating mechanism is introduced to trace the promising samples. For the ICE algorithm, some samples are generated by the heuristic rules for the shortest makespan due to the relation between the makespan and the total power consumption, which can reduce the search space greatly. The optimal sample in each iteration is retained through a retention mechanism to ensure that the historical optimal sample is not lost so as to improve the efficiency and global convergence. A local search procedure is carried out on a part of better samples so as to improve the local exploitation capability of the ICE algorithm and get a better result. The parameter setting is investigated by the Taguchi method of design-of-experiment. A number of simulation experiments are implemented to validate the effectiveness of the ICE algorithm in solving the SCCPS problem and also the superiority of the ICE algorithm is verified through the comparison with the standard cross entropy( SCE) algorithm.展开更多

The influence of electric field on the SEN clogging was focused on, including the basic theory and measurement of SEN charging, the preliminary research on SEN charging, the influence of molten steel on the wetting behavior of refractory materials in electric field, and the influence of electric field on the oxide inclusions in molten steel. Based on the influence of the hydrodynamics, chemistry and other factors on refractory materials, structure, inclusion particle transfer and adhesion, many anti-clogging researches have been carried out, such as optimizing process conditions, compositing anti-clogging inner lining materials, innovating SEN structure and applying physical fields, which solve the problem of SEN clogging to a certain extent. However, the problems of weak adaptability and superficial study on clogging mechanism are still prominent. The electric field control is a new technology to prevent clogging. Although it has achieved certain results in on-site continuous casting trials, some problems such as the method of applying electric field, the electric field parameters and the equipment still need to be gradually improved, and the surface characteristics of inclusions and SEN materials at high temperatures need to be further studied. It was pointed out that the combination of materials and applied electric field will become an important direction for SEN anti-clogging technology.展开更多

文摘On the interface of the Cu-Al composite plate from horizontal continuous casting, the eutectic microstructure layer thickness ac-counts for more than 90%of the total interface thickness, and the deformation in rolling forming plays an important role in the quality of the composite plate. The eutectic microstructure material on the interface of the Cu-Al composite plate was prepared by changing the cooling rate of ingot solidification and the deformation in hot compression was investigated. The results show that when the deformation temperature is over 300℃,the softening effect of dynamic recrystallization ofα-Al is greater than the hardening effect, and uniform plastic deformation of eutectic microstructure is caused. The constitutive equation of flow stress in the eutectic microstructure layer was established by Arrhenius hy-perbolic-sine mathematics model, providing a reliable theoretical basis for the deformation of the Cu-Al composite plate.

文摘A Lagrangian relaxation(LR) approach was presented which is with machine capacity relaxation and operation precedence relaxation for solving a flexible job shop(FJS) scheduling problem from the steelmaking-refining-continuous casting process. Computational results and comparisons show that the proposed methods improve significantly the efficiency of the LR approach and the DCASLA adopting capacity relaxation strategy performs best among eight methods in terms of solution quality and running time.
文摘A general mathematical model and boundary condition applicable to momentum and heat transfer in the semisolid continuous casting(SCC) process was established. Using the model, the numerical simulation of the momentum and heat transfer of molten metal was carried out in the SCC system. The obtained results fit well with the measured ones. Moreover, using the numerical simulating software, the effect of various factors on breakout and breakage was explored. The obtained results show that heat flow density of copper mold and the withdrawal beginning time are two major influencing factors. The larger the heat flow density of copper mold, or the shorter the withdrawal beginning time, the more stable the semisolid continuous casting process. [

文摘Mg-9Gd-3Y-1.5Zn-0.8Zr alloys own high strength, good heat and corrosion resistance. However,it is difficult for the fabrication of large-scale billets, due to the poor deformation ability and strong hot-crack tendency. This work investigated the casting process on the microstructures and flow stress behaviors of the semi-continuous casting billets for the fabrication of large-scale Mg-9Gd-3Y-1.5Zn-0.8Zr billets. The casting process(electromagnetic intensity and casting speed)shows outstanding effects on the microstructures and flow stress behavior of the billets. The billets with the specific casting process(I=68 A,V=65 mm/min)exhibit uniform microstructures and good deformation uniformity.

文摘The two-phase zone continuous casting(TZCC)technique was used to continuously cast high-strength aluminum alloy hollow billets, and a verified 3D model of TZCC was used to simulate the flow and temperature fields at casting speeds of 2-6 mm·min^(-1).Hollow billets under the same conditions were prepared, and their macro/microstructures were analyzed by an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope.During the TZCC process,a circular fluid flow appears in front of the mushy zone, and the induction heated stepped mold and convective heat transfer result in a curved solidification front with depressed region near the inner wall and a vertical temperature gradient. The deflection of the solidification front decreases and the average cooling rate in the mushy zone increases with increasing casting speed.Experimental results for a 2D12 alloy show that hot tearing periodically appears in the hollow billet accompanied by macrosegregation near the inner wall at casting speeds of 2 and 4 mm·min^(-1),while macroscopic defects of hot tearing and macrosegregation weaken and the average size of columnar crystals in the hollow billets decreases with further increasing casting speed.2D12 aluminum alloy hollow billets with no macroscopic defects, the finest columnar crystals, and excellent mechanical properties were prepared by TZCC at a casting speed of 6 mm·min^(-1),which is beneficial for the further plastic forming process.
文摘Understanding the transformation of liquid steel to solid steel is the most fundamental aspect of continuous casting;however,it remains a complex subject with a number of unresolved issues. In this paper, the following aspects of mold operation which give rise to sub-surface defects will be discussed;meniscus solidification, surface and interfacial energies, effects of gas bubbles, and the dynamic nature of the liquid slag-liquid steel interface.

文摘A matrix encoding scheme for the steelmaking continuous casting( SCC) production scheduling( SCCPS) problem and the corresponding decoding method are proposed. A number of simulation experiments are implemented to validate the effectiveness of the ICE algorithm in solving the SCCPS problem and also the superiority of the ICE algorithm is verified through the comparison with the standard cross entropy( SCE) algorithm.

文摘The causes, the formation process, and the prevention of submerged entry nozzle(SEN) clogging were introduced. It was pointed out that the combination of materials and applied electric field will become an important direction for SEN anti-clogging technology.
文摘A mold flux is widely used to modify heat transfer rates in continuous casting, and crystallization of the mold flux has been identified as a primary factor that influences heat flux from the strand to the mold.As the harsh environment and the very high transient nature of the mold caster, the study of dynamic mold flux melting and crystallization as well as their effects on heat transfer has not been conducted widely.By using an infrared radiation emitter,a high level heat flux was applied to a copper mold covered with solid mold flux disk to simulate the heat transfer phenomena in continuous casting.By this technique it is possible to have a liquid layer,a crystalline layer and a glassy layer in contact with one another and,by varying the energy input,it is possible to study the dynamic nature of the film and its effect on the heat transfer rate.A general heat transfer model was also developed to allow the prediction of the effect of varying the thickness of the three potential layers in the flux film.
