As one weak topic in research of debris flow, abrasion of debris flow shortens obviously application life of control structure composed of concrete.High_speed drainage structure, one of the most effective techniques to control giant debris flow disaster, has shortened one_third application life due to abrasion by debris flow.Based on velocity calculation method founded by two_phase theory, research of abrasion mechanism of debris flow to high_speed drainage structure was made. The mechanism includes both abrasion mechanism of homogeneous sizing and shearing mechanism of particle of debris flow to high_speed drainage trough structure.Further abrasion equations of both sizing and particle were established by Newton movement theory of debris flow. And abrasion amount formula of the high_speed drainage trough structure is set up by dimensional analysis.Amount to calculating in the formula is consistent with testing data in_situ,which is valuable in design of high_speed drainage structure. 展开更多

The geological condition of Chinese coal mines are complex and high gassy, which account for ffty percent to seventy percent.Because of the abundant pores and cracks around the drainage drilling hole, the gas concentration attenuates rapidly, and the effective gas drainage period is short. The traditional sealing materials of yellow mud and cement-sand grout will readily shrink after the drilling hole is sealed, the sealing length is short and the sealing quality is not satisfactory.Currently widely used polyurethane material will shrink when it comes into contact with water, and the price is also very high.In this study, taking cement as a base material,a novel composite sealing material mixed by expansion admixture, additive, and fbrin and coupling agent was developed and the sealing performance and expansion property of the material were also studied and analyzed. The FEI Quanta TM 250 environmental scanning electron microscope was used to investigate the microstructure of material. The results revealed that the new composite sealing material had a desirable expansion performance and a defnite fluidity convenient for grouting. The solidifed material, combining closely with the drilling wall, possessed an adequate strength and was not easy to shrink.Compared to the conventional polyurethane, the gas drainage concentration by drilling sealing exceeded 40 percent, and the sealing capacity improves5 times, the sealing effect increases signifcantly. 展开更多

Most planned developments in a catchment for control of excess water using a culvert, bridge or dam spillway are located at a site in a stream where there are no discharge measurements. Even though, for gauged catchments a number of established flood frequency models and rainfall-runoff models do exist, for ungauged catchments mostly regional flood frequency and event-based rainfall-runoff models are used, which depend on regional parameters. In this paper, a regional approach for design floods is presented and risk implication for design of drainage structures assessed. A case study in light of the above has been considered at four ungauged sites in the Limpopo Drainage Basin in north-eastern Botswana. 展开更多
