The mold-filling ability of alloy melt in squeeze casting process was evaluated by means of the maximum length of Archimedes spiral line. A theoretical evaluating model to predict the maximum filling length was built ...The mold-filling ability of alloy melt in squeeze casting process was evaluated by means of the maximum length of Archimedes spiral line. A theoretical evaluating model to predict the maximum filling length was built based on the flowing theory of the incompressible viscous fluid. It was proved by experiments and calculations that the mold-filling pressure and velocity are prominent influencing factors on the mold-filling ability of alloy melt. The mold-filling ability increases with the increase of the mold-filling pressure and the decrease of the proper mold-filling velocity. Moreover, the pouring temperature relatively has less effect on the mold-filling ability under the experimental conditions. The maximum deviation of theoretical calculating values with experimental results is less than 15%. The model can quantitatively estimate the effect of every factor on the mold-filling ability.展开更多

Anthropogenic activities profoundly influence carbon sequestration in the Eurasian Steppe. In particular,grazing has been identified as having a major effect on carbon sequestration. However,the extent to which grazin...Anthropogenic activities profoundly influence carbon sequestration in the Eurasian Steppe. In particular,grazing has been identified as having a major effect on carbon sequestration. However,the extent to which grazing affects regional patterns or carbon sequestration is unknown. In this study,we evaluated the impact of regional grazing on grassland carbon sequestration using the Boreal Ecosystem Productivity Simulator(BEPS) and the Shiyomi grazing model. Model performances were validated against the results from field measurements and eddy covariance(EC) sites. Model outputs showed that in 2008,the regional net primary productivity(NPP) was 79.5 g Cm^(–2),and the net ecosystem productivity(NEP) was –6.5 g Cm^(–2),characterizing the region as a weak carbon source. The Mongol Steppe(MS) was identified as a carbon sink,whereas the Kazakh Steppe(KS) was either carbon neutral or a weak carbon source. The spatial patterns of grazing density are divergent between the MS and the KS. In the MS,livestock was mainly distributed in China with relatively good management,while in the KS livestock was mainly concentrated in the southern countries(especially Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan) with harsh environments and poor management. The consumption percentages of NPP in Turkmenistan,Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were 5.3,3.3 and 1.2%,respectively,whereas the percentages in other countries were lower than 1%. Correspondingly,grazing consumption contributed to the carbon sources of Turkmenistan,Tajikistan and Uzbekistan by 11.6,6.3 and 4.3%,respectively,while it weakened the carbon sink in Inner Mongolia,China and Mongolia by 1.6 and 0.5%. This regional pattern should be affected by different sub-regional characteristics,e.g.,the continuous degradationof grassland in the southern part of the KS and the restoration of grassland in Inner Mongolia,China.展开更多

Method: M...Aim: This study aims to clarify the current state of advancement of knowledge and skills in the educational process from self-assessments by midwifery student labor and delivery assistance evaluation sheets. Method: Metrology is an observational and retrospective study. Self-assessments in labor and delivery assistance evaluation sheets of midwifery students registered in an advanced midwifery course at Nursing College A from Apr. 2017 to Mar. 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. The end-points were every score of six classifications: health checkups and assessments of women who give birth, preparations for labor and delivery assistance, delivery assistance in the parturient second stage, delivery assistance in the parturient third and fourth stages, midwifery process, and the training manner. Moreover, they also included the scores of 64 evaluation items belonging to any of the six classifications and a comprehensive evaluation score in which students judged the acquisition of all knowledge and skills of delivery assistance. In addition, although not on the evaluation sheet, the average score of all 64 evaluation items was also included. The evaluation criteria were five levels, from one to five. The end-points were examined by comparing the experiences of delivery assistances in two periods of Results: 80 among 91 evaluation sheets from eight out of nine students were analyzed. The average score of all 64 evaluation items, every score of the six classifications, and the comprehensive evaluation score was significantly elevated in the experience periods of 6 ≤ times (P Conclusion: Training in adaptation and enforcement of amniotomy and assistance skills for lacerations sutures will be needed in future educational challenges.
