These diseases may be congenital or acquired. However, clinical myocarditis is in itself, relatively uncommon in older children. The most common pathogen is Coxsackie virus B. The offending agent instigates an immune response, which causes myocardial oedema with eventual systolic and diastolic dysfunction. Cardioembolic stroke can occur secondary to an intra-mural thrombus in a dysfunctional atrium or ventricle. We describe the case of an adolescent male with acute myocarditis complicated by a thromboembolic stroke. After initial management of acute pulmonary oedema and heart failure with restricted ejection fraction (HFrEF), the child developed seizure-like symptoms on the 10th day of hospitalization, prompting urgent neuro-radio diagnosis, which revealed acute infarcts in the cerebellum and frontal lobe of the cerebrum. We believe this case to be of clinical relevance because;1) The diagnosis of an acute stroke in children is often delayed due to the atypical clinical presentation and often the absence of traditional stroke-like symptoms, and 2) There is a lack of sufficient high-quality evidence regarding the predictors and the immediate management of stroke in paediatric heart disease, as well as inadequate data on prevalence and incidence in paediatric cardioembolic strokes.展开更多

Studies in the field based on medical rehability performed by a full team such as doctors, physiotherapists and psychologists and not only have shown that the link between the patient’s psychological state and exercise are factors in full dependence and any imbalance can trigger irreparable effects. Psychology is the science that studies the laws of formation, development, functioning and deficiencies related to psychism;it includes a series of fundamental concepts that include: psychic processes, psychic phenomena, psychic attributes, psychic states or psychic activities. Psychic phenomena are the component elements of psychism. In a sense, the psychic phenomena are manifested by external facts, by our behavior, by the motor actions started, by gestures or verbal actions;in the other sense, psychic phenomena are manifested by inner deeds, as the form of ideas, images, feelings, and desires. The motor acts without psychism would be only simple automatisms, without human specifications of adaptation, while the psychism without motor acts would be deprived of the fundamentals of formation and functioning as well as of its production mechanisms. Objective: The objective of this study is to highlight the causal problems of delayed medical recovery in relation to the psychological and emotional factors. This desktop review aims to identify psychoemotional disorders in the case of subjects with operated lumbar disc herniation and aims to adapt a specialized physiotherapeutic protocol by adapting to CIF. The result of this study will be found in the percentage of socio-professional reintegration of the subjects with operated lumbar disc herniation and implicitly the increase in the quality of life. Conclusions: 1) For an effective functional recovery, a psycho-emotional balance is needed;2) A positive attitude actively influences medical rehabilitation;3) Regaining physical, cognitive and social activities depend on the degree of psycho-emotional impairment. .展开更多

The results showed that in FD group 69 patients (61. 06%) had delayed gastric emptying, and 28 patients (24.77%) had gallbladder hypokinesia. Among them both delayed gastric ernptying and gallbladder hypokinesia were found in 11 patients (9.7%), 44 patients (38.93%)had normal gastric emptying and 85 patients (75.22%) had normal gallbladder emptying.展开更多

Methods From July 1996 to January 1998, 34 patients underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and cardiac SPECT imaging was studied. Twenty five patients had pre procedure SPECT scans. The agreement between angioplasty strategies and SPECT findings of ischemia and hypokinesia was examined. Results When radionuclide imaging was performed before revascularization procedures, 84% of the patients had intervention strategies guided by scan findings. Perfusion scan findings including extent and severity of ischemia, degree of hypokinesia directed the selection of target vessel for angioplasty in the patient subgroup with multi vessel disease. Post angioplasty radionuclide cardiac scans were performed only on symptomatic patients, demonstrating ischemia and hypokinesia in most of them, conceivably reflected the selection bias. Conclusion We recommend routine pre and post angioplasty radionuclide imaging with multigated scans for wall motion assessment for all patients receiving coronary intervention.展开更多

Tremor, muscle stiffness, and slowness of movement are symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. The symptoms of Huntington’s disease are severe reduction in muscle control, emotional disturbance, and pathological disorders in brain cells. These diseases are caused by destruction of the cells that secrete a substance called dopamine. In this paper, a new discrete chaotic system is introduced, which can mimic the brain’s behavior for neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson, Huntington, and Hypokinesia. This system is described based on the similarity between the brain’s behavior in normal and abnormal conditions and the chaotic systems. Bifurcation analysis is carried out with respect to different parameters, providing full spectrum of the behavior for different parameter values. Our results can be used to mathematically study the mechanisms behind these diseases.展开更多
