BACKGROUND Mandibular retraction is the main etiological mechanism of class II malocclusion in China and the subsequent distal molar relationship can cause functional discomfort in mastication,breathing and the tempor...BACKGROUND Mandibular retraction is the main etiological mechanism of class II malocclusion in China and the subsequent distal molar relationship can cause functional discomfort in mastication,breathing and the temporomandibular joint.The use of mandibular advancement(MA)devices has recently emerged as an adolescent mandibular retraction treatment;however,current studies regarding the effect thereof are relatively few,and there is lack of sufficient clinical support.AIM To investigate the clinical effect of invisalign MA on the treatment of mandibular retraction in adolescents.METHODS This study included 30 adolescent patients who underwent treatment with the MA appliances from December 2017 to June 2021.The lateral cephalometric data before and after treatment were collected and imported into Dolphin Imaging software.The changes were measured by linear measurement superimposed with lateral cephalometric trajectory based on the Pancherz technology.RESULTS There was no significant difference in the length and position of maxilla before and after the treatment.The position of the mandible moved 3.13 mm,the length increased 4.14 mm,the mandibular ramus length increased 4.09 mm,the body length increased 4.25 mm,and the position of the condyle moved 1.03 mm forward after treatment.Additionally,changes in the incisor sagittal position and labial inclination were observed.The position of the upper incisor point moved back 1.33 mm,without statistical difference,the inclination and tooth angle decreased by 3.44°and 4.06°,respectively;the position of the lower incisor point was moved 2.98 mm,and the inclination and tooth angle increased by 2.62°and 1.23°,respectively.Furthermore,changes in the incisor overjet and molar relationship were seen.Overjet decreased by 4.31 mm,of which 1.78 mm was due to dental factors,accounting for 41.3%of the effect as opposed to 58.7%due to skeletal factors.Molar relationship improved 3.87 mm,with 1.34 mm due to dental factors,and dental and skeletal factors were accounted for 34.6%and 65.4%of the effect,respectively.CONCLUSION For adolescent patients with mandible retraction,invisalign MA can effectively promote the mandible growth,and it was proven to be mainly due to skeletal effects.展开更多

Various methods were used to detect the low-grade gold in the concentrate; however, only time-of-flight secondary-ion mass spectrometry(TOF-SIMS) was successful. With bio-pretreatment, the gold recovery rate increased by approximately 70.16% compared with that obtained by direct cyanide leaching of the concentrate. Various attempts were made to increase the final gold recovery rate. However, approximately 20wt% of the gold was non-extractable. To determine the nature of this non-extractable gold, mineralogy liberation analysis(MLA), formation of secondary product during the bio-pretreatment, and the preg-robbing capacity of the carbonaceous matter in the ore were investigated. The results indicated that at least four factors affected the gold recovery rate: gold occurrence, tight junctions of gold-bearing pyrite with gangue minerals, jarosite coating of the ore, and the carbonaceous matter content.展开更多

BACKGROUND Implant fracture is one of the most serious mechanical complications of dental implants.Conventional treatment necessitates visibility of the apical portion of the fractured implant,whereas for deep and inv...BACKGROUND Implant fracture is one of the most serious mechanical complications of dental implants.Conventional treatment necessitates visibility of the apical portion of the fractured implant,whereas for deep and invisible implant fractures,the traditional trephine method has been ineffective.Surgical removal of the marginal bone to expose the fracture surface would be a time-consuming and extensively damaging procedure.Here,we propose a novel technique to address invisible implant fractures.CASE SUMMARY A 50-year-old woman was referred to our department with the chief complaint that her right mandibular implant tooth had fallen out 3 mo earlier.Cone-beam computed tomography examination showed an implant fracture with a fracture surface 5.1 mm below the crestal ridge.The patient was treated with osteotomy combined with the trephine technique to expose the surgical field and remove the implant.The invisible fractured implant was successfully removed,with minimal trauma.A modified Wafer technique-supported guided bone regeneration treatment was then administered to restore the buccal bone wall and preserve the bone mass.Six months later,fine regenerative bone and a wide alveolar crest in the edentulous area were observed,and a new implant was placed.Four months later,restoration was completed using a cemented ceramic prosthesis.Clinical and radiographic examinations 12 mo after loading fulfilled the success criteria.The patient reported no complaints and was satisfied.CONCLUSION Osteotomy combined with the trephine technique can be effectively used to address deep and invisible implant fractures.展开更多

The p...The authors of the existing version of the special theory of relativity had to use the princi-ple of light speed non-exceedance to explain relativistic formulas obtained therein within the space of real numbers. The principle implied existence of only our visible universe and absence of physical content in imaginary numbers. However, since the principle is just a postulate, i.e. an unproven assumption, it has always carried little credibility. The paper refutes the principle by the experimentally proven principle of physical reality of imagi-nary numbers. As follows from the principle of physical reality of imaginary numbers, relativistic formulas of the existing version of the STR are wrong and incorrectly ex-plained, and conclusions drawn from them are misguided. In other words, this version is incorrect1 and, thus, the STR was not actually created in the 20th century. Moreover, it could not be created in the 20th century, as its creation required experimental data ob-tained in the 21st century. The paper provides an alternative version of the STR contain-ing relativistic formulas corrected given experimental data obtained in the 21st century. These formulas imply that instead of the Monoverse, whose existence is supposed in the existing version of the STR, there is a Multiverse, whose universes are mutually invisible (and the invisibility is explainable) and therefore it has been referred to as hidden. The paper explains that existence of invisible universes of the hidden Multiverse gives rise to the phenomenon of dark matter and dark energy that is actually a sort of optical effect (however, not electromagnetic, but gravitational), a shadow, rather than some physical substance2. It also explains that existence of other invisible universes outside the hidden Multiverse gives rise to the phenomenon of dark space. Invisible universes are claimed to really exist, which can be experimentally proved by astronomical observations in portals, where universes not visible outside portals become partially visible. Therefore, constella-tions observed in the starry sky inside the portals are different from those observed in our visible universe. The alternative version of the special theory of relativity can also suc-cessfully solve other issues of astrophysics. Moreover, the STR could not even have been created in the 20th century since: 1) experimental data on the six-dimensional space of our hidden Multiverse, which allowed to derive the correct relativistic formulas, were obtained by the WMAP and Planck spacecraft only in the 21st century;2) the principle of physical reality of imaginary numbers, which allowed to refute the principle of not exceeding the speed of light and correctly explain the new relativistic formulas, was experimentally proved only in the 21st century. Therefore, the new relativistic formulas obtained given these circumstances allow to state that, in addition to our visible universe, there are numerous other mutually invisible universes, which together form the hidden Multiverse. Objective To investigate the effect of invisible full-thickness mesh skin graft in the treatment of scar contracture deformity of the dorsal hand.Methods From January 2016 to February 2019,25 patients with cicatricial...Objective To investigate the effect of invisible full-thickness mesh skin graft in the treatment of scar contracture deformity of the dorsal hand.Methods From January 2016 to February 2019,25 patients with cicatricial contracture deformity of dorsal hand admitted to our hospital underwent full thickness skin graft.During the operation,the scar healed completely and the superficial fascia remained intact.The wound surface was transplanted with invisible mesh full thickness skin graft.The survival of the skin graft and the recovery of hand function and appearance in the later period were observed after the operation.Results The skin grafts of 20 patients survived with high quality,3 cases had partial epidermis exfoliation,and 2 cases had partial epidermis scattered in blisters.After intensive dressing change,all wounds healed and no complications occurred after the operation.The hand function and appearance of the patients were obviously improved.Conclusion The application of full thickness skin graft to correct scar deformity has the advantages of good functional and appearance recovery and difficult postoperative contracture.Invisible full-thickness mesh skin graft is one of the ideal methods to correct scar contracture deformity of the dorsal hand.展开更多
Objective:To explore the cure rate of bracketless invisible headgear orthodontic for opening deep occlusion of anterior teeth.Methods:10 cases with deep occlusion of anterior teeth were selected.All of the patients we...Objective:To explore the cure rate of bracketless invisible headgear orthodontic for opening deep occlusion of anterior teeth.Methods:10 cases with deep occlusion of anterior teeth were selected.All of the patients were admitted to our hospital from January 2017 to January 2020.All selected patients received bracketless invisible headgear orthodontic treatment.We took CBCT(cone beam CT)before and after orthodontics lateral cranial radiographs and curved tomographic radiographs to analyze the effect of orthodontic treatment in 10 patients.Results:The changes of 10 patients before and after the orthodontic treatment were not significant in Ul-SN,U6-SN,MP-FH(P>0.05);the Ul-PP of the patients all decreased by 3〜5mm.Compared with the effect before orthodontic treatment,the difference is significance(P<0.05);The tooth loosening didn't occur obviously in 10 patients.And 2 patients(20.00%)had mild root resorption in the anterior teeth.Conclusion:The effect of invisible headgear orthodontic treatment without brackets is significant in orthodontic treatment of patients with deep occlusion of anterior teeth.The pressure of the upper anterior teeth can reach as low as 3~5mm.The cure rate of deep occlusion of open anterior teeth is high.The orthodontic method is comfortable,with beautiful appearance,which is easier to be accepted by patients.展开更多

BACKGROUND The relation between orthodontic treatment and temporomandibular disorders(TMDs)is under debate;the management of TMD during orthodontic treatment has always been a challenge.If TMD symptoms occur during or...BACKGROUND The relation between orthodontic treatment and temporomandibular disorders(TMDs)is under debate;the management of TMD during orthodontic treatment has always been a challenge.If TMD symptoms occur during orthodontic treatment,an immediate pause of orthodontic adjustments is recommended;the treatment can resume when the symptoms are managed and stabilized.CASE SUMMARY This case report presents a patient(26-year-old,female)with angle class I,skeletal class II and TMDs.The treatment was a hybrid of clear aligners,fixed appliances and temporary anchorage devices(TADs).After 3 mo resting and treatment on her TMD,the patient’s TMD symptom alleviated,but her anterior occlusion displayed deep overbite.Therefore,the fixed appliances with TAD were used to correct the anterior deep-bite and level maxillary and mandibular deep curves.After the levelling,the patient showed dual bite with centric relation and maximum intercuspation discrepancy on her occlusion.After careful examination of temporomandibular joints(TMJ)position,the stable bite splint and Invisible Mandibular Advancement appliance were used to reconstruct her occlusion.Eventually,the improved facial appearance and relatively stable occlusion were achieved.The 1-year follow-up records showed there was no obvious change in TMJ morphology,and her occlusion was stable.CONCLUSION TMD screening and monitoring is of great clinical importance in the TMD susceptible patients.Hybrid treatment with clear aligners and fixed appliances and TADs is an effective treatment modality for the complex cases.展开更多

These formulas imply that instead of the Monoverse, whose existence is supposed in the existing version of the STR, there is a Multiverse, whose universes are mutually invisible (and the invisibility is explainable) and therefore it has been referred to as hidden. The paper explains that existence of invisible universes of the hidden Multiverse gives rise to the phenomenon of dark matter and dark energy that is actually a sort of optical effect (however, not electromagnetic, but gravitational), a shadow, rather than some physical substance2. It also explains that existence of other invisible universes outside the hidden Multiverse gives rise to the phenomenon of dark space. Invisible universes are claimed to really exist, which can be experimentally proved by astronomical observations in portals, where universes not visible outside portals become partially visible. Therefore, constella-tions observed in the starry sky inside the portals are different from those observed in our visible universe. The alternative version of the special theory of relativity can also suc-cessfully solve other issues of astrophysics. In particular, it can explain where antimatter is located and why it does not annihilate with matter, as well as where tachyons are locat-ed and why they don’t violate the principle of causality, etc.

文摘The article shows that the special theory of relativity (STR) was not actually created in the 20th century, since: 1) the relativistic formulas presented therein are incorrect;2) the relativistic formulas presented therein are explained incorrectly using the incorrect principle of light speed non-exceedance refuted in the article;3) the relativistic formulas presented therein rise to incorrect conclusions about physical unreality of imaginary numbers and existence of only our visible universe. Moreover, the STR could not even have been created in the 20th century since: 1) experimental data on the six-dimensional space of our hidden Multiverse, which allowed to derive the correct relativistic formulas, were obtained by the WMAP and Planck spacecraft only in the 21st century;2) the principle of physical reality of imaginary numbers, which allowed to refute the principle of not exceeding the speed of light and correctly explain the new relativistic formulas, was experimentally proved only in the 21st century. Therefore, the new relativistic formulas obtained given these circumstances allow to state that, in addition to our visible universe, there are numerous other mutually invisible universes, which together form the hidden Multiverse. Existence of invisible universes explains the phenomenon of dark matter and dark energy. Their existence also explains why antimatter in the hidden Multiverse does not annihilate with matter, and tachyons do not violate the principle of causality. The existence of these invisible universes can be proved by astronomical observations in the portals, since in them the constellations of the starry sky will differ from the constellations observed from existing observatories on Earth.

文摘Objective To investigate the effect of invisible full-thickness mesh skin graft in the treatment of scar contracture deformity of the dorsal hand.Methods From January 2016 to February 2019,25 patients with cicatricial contracture deformity of dorsal hand admitted to our hospital underwent full thickness skin graft.During the operation,the scar healed completely and the superficial fascia remained intact.The wound surface was transplanted with invisible mesh full thickness skin graft.The survival of the skin graft and the recovery of hand function and appearance in the later period were observed after the operation.Results The skin grafts of 20 patients survived with high quality,3 cases had partial epidermis exfoliation,and 2 cases had partial epidermis scattered in blisters.After intensive dressing change,all wounds healed and no complications occurred after the operation.The hand function and appearance of the patients were obviously improved.Conclusion The application of full thickness skin graft to correct scar deformity has the advantages of good functional and appearance recovery and difficult postoperative contracture.Invisible full-thickness mesh skin graft is one of the ideal methods to correct scar contracture deformity of the dorsal hand.
文摘Objective:To explore the cure rate of bracketless invisible headgear orthodontic for opening deep occlusion of anterior teeth.Methods:10 cases with deep occlusion of anterior teeth were selected.All of the patients were admitted to our hospital from January 2017 to January 2020.All selected patients received bracketless invisible headgear orthodontic treatment.We took CBCT(cone beam CT)before and after orthodontics lateral cranial radiographs and curved tomographic radiographs to analyze the effect of orthodontic treatment in 10 patients.Results:The changes of 10 patients before and after the orthodontic treatment were not significant in Ul-SN,U6-SN,MP-FH(P>0.05);the Ul-PP of the patients all decreased by 3〜5mm.Compared with the effect before orthodontic treatment,the difference is significance(P<0.05);The tooth loosening didn't occur obviously in 10 patients.And 2 patients(20.00%)had mild root resorption in the anterior teeth.Conclusion:The effect of invisible headgear orthodontic treatment without brackets is significant in orthodontic treatment of patients with deep occlusion of anterior teeth.The pressure of the upper anterior teeth can reach as low as 3~5mm.The cure rate of deep occlusion of open anterior teeth is high.The orthodontic method is comfortable,with beautiful appearance,which is easier to be accepted by patients.

文摘BACKGROUND The relation between orthodontic treatment and temporomandibular disorders(TMDs)is under debate;the management of TMD during orthodontic treatment has always been a challenge.If TMD symptoms occur during orthodontic treatment,an immediate pause of orthodontic adjustments is recommended;the treatment can resume when the symptoms are managed and stabilized.CASE SUMMARY This case report presents a patient(26-year-old,female)with angle class I,skeletal class II and TMDs.The treatment was a hybrid of clear aligners,fixed appliances and temporary anchorage devices(TADs).After 3 mo resting and treatment on her TMD,the patient’s TMD symptom alleviated,but her anterior occlusion displayed deep overbite.Therefore,the fixed appliances with TAD were used to correct the anterior deep-bite and level maxillary and mandibular deep curves.After the levelling,the patient showed dual bite with centric relation and maximum intercuspation discrepancy on her occlusion.After careful examination of temporomandibular joints(TMJ)position,the stable bite splint and Invisible Mandibular Advancement appliance were used to reconstruct her occlusion.Eventually,the improved facial appearance and relatively stable occlusion were achieved.The 1-year follow-up records showed there was no obvious change in TMJ morphology,and her occlusion was stable.CONCLUSION TMD screening and monitoring is of great clinical importance in the TMD susceptible patients.Hybrid treatment with clear aligners and fixed appliances and TADs is an effective treatment modality for the complex cases.
