In this work, we mainly focus on reviewing our two projects performed in the past decade. One is about the ions with Z■30 that are generally of astrophysical interest, and the other one is about the highly charged krypton(Z = 36)and tungsten(Z = 74) ions that are relevant in research of magnetic confinement fusion. Two different and independent methods, namely, multiconfiguration Dirac–Hartree–Fock(MCDHF) and the relativistic many-body perturbation theory(RMBPT) are usually used in our studies. As a complement/extension to our previous works for highly charged tungsten ions with open M-shell and open N-shell, we also mainly focus on presenting and discussing our complete RMBPT and MCDHF calculations for the excitation energies, wavelengths, electric dipole(E1), magnetic dipole(M1), electric quadrupole(E2), and magnetic quadrupole(M2) transition properties, and level lifetimes for the lowest 148 levels belonging to the 3l3configurations in Al-like W61+. We also summarize the uncertainties of our systematical theoretical calculations, by cross-checking/validating our datasets from our RMBPT and MCDHF calculations, and by detailed comparisons with available accurate observations and other theoretical calculations. It is of great practical significance to study these issues for medical chip design, drug development, health care, etc. In this investigation, the conductivity properties of λ-DNA solutions with mono-/divalent metal ions(Na+, K^(+), Mg^(2+), and Ca^(2+)) are experimentally studied as they are electrically driven through a 5 μm microfluidic channel. Experimental data indicate that the conductivities of λ-DNA solutions with metal ions(M+/M2+) basically tend to reduce firstly and then increase as the voltage increases, of which the turning points varied with the metal ions. When the voltage surpasses turning points, the conductivity of λ-DNA-M+solutions increases with the concentration of metal ions, while that of λ-DNA-M^(2+)solutions decrease. Moreover, the conductivity of λ-DNA-M^(2+)solutions is always smaller than that of λ-DNA-M+solutions, and with high-concentration M^(2+), it is even smaller than that of the λ-DNA solution. The main reasons for the above findings could be attributed to the polarization of electrodes and different mechanisms of interactions between metal ions and λ-DNA molecules. This investigation is helpful for the precise manipulation of single DNA molecules in micro-/nanofluidic space and the design of new biomedical micro-/nanofluidic sensors.展开更多

Organo silica nanosheets(organo-Si NSs) functionalized by series of azole derivatives(2-mercaptoimidazole(MI), 2-mercaptobenzimidazole(MBT) and 1H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol(MTT)), are fabricated and employed for selective removal of Ag(I). The structures of the organo-Si NSs are investigated using several characterization methods. The results of batch adsorption experiments display that the maximum adsorption amounts are 70.3, 103.2 and 139.5 mg·g^(-1) on MI-Si NSs, MBI-Si NSs and MTT-Si NSs for Ag(I) ions, and reach rapid equilibrium within 10–30 min. The adsorption processes are chemisorption and fit pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. Notably, MTT-Si NSs is greatly selective for Ag(I) in multicomponent system, and the distribution coefficient value of Ag(I) ions reaches 2331.26 ml·g^(-1). The reusability of organo-Si NSs is verified by four cycles of regeneration tests with 0.1 mol·L^(-1) HNO_(3) as the eluent. A combination of experimental, structural along with theoretical analysis is conducted to proclaim the structure-adsorptivity relationship:(i) The adsorption mechanisms are attributed to complexation.(ii) The amino group and sulfhydryl group of MTT-Si NSs as well as MBISi NSs may have synergistic impacts on Ag(I) capture.(iii) The differences in adsorption behavior and selectivity of the three organo-Si NSs are mainly related to the form of function groups, charge density and steric hindrance of adsorbent. This work not only sheds light on the promise of functionalized organo-Si NSs for the rapid and selective removal/enrichment of Ag(I) ions in complex water systems, but also provides new insights for designing cost-effective Si NSs-based adsorbents.展开更多

文摘The effects of impurities on ion temperature gradient(ITG)driven turbulence transport in tokamak core plasmas are investigated numerically via global simulations of microturbulence with carbon impurities and adiabatic electrons. The simulations use an extended fluid code(ExFC)based on a four-field gyro-Landau-fluid(GLF)model.The multispecies form of the normalized GLF equations is presented, which guarantees the self-consistent evolution of both bulk ions and impurities. With parametric profiles of the cyclone base case,well-benchmarked ExFC is employed to perform simulations focusing on different impurity density profiles. For a fixed temperature profile,it is found that the turbulent heat diffusivity of bulk ions in a quasi-steady state is usually lower than that without impurities, which is contrary to the linear and quasilinear predictions. The evolutions of the temperature gradient and heat diffusivity exhibit a fast relaxation process, indicating that the destabilization of the outwardly peaked impurity profile is a transient state response.Furthermore, the impurity effects from different profiles can obviously influence the nonlinear critical temperature gradient, which is likely to be dominated by linear effects. These results suggest that the improvement in plasma confinement could be attributed to the impurities, most likely through adjusting both heat diffusivity and the critical temperature gradient.

文摘This study investigates the single-pass absorption(SPA) of ion cyclotron range of frequency(ICRF) heating in hydrogen plasma of the EXL-50U spherical tokamak, which is an upgraded EXL-50 device with a central solenoid and a stronger magnetic field. The reliability of the kinetic dispersion equation is confirmed by the one-dimensional full-wave code, and the applicability of Porkolab's simplified theoretical SPA model is discussed based on the kinetic dispersion equation.Simulations are conducted to investigate the heating effects of the fundamental and second harmonic frequencies. The results indicate that with the design parameters of the EXL-50U device, the SPA for second harmonic heating is 63%,while the SPA for fundamental heating is 13%.Additionally,the optimal injection frequencies are 23 MHz at 0.9 T and 31 MHz at 1.2 T.The wave vector of the antenna parallel to the magnetic field, with a value of k_‖=7.5 m^(-1),falls within the optimal heating region.Simulations reveal that the ICRF heating system can play an important role in the ion heating of the EXL-50U.

文摘Accurate measurement of the average plasma parameters in the edge region, including the temperature and density of electrons and ions,is critical for understanding the characteristics of the scrape-off layer(SOL) and divertor plasma transport in magnetically confined fusion research. On the J-TEXT tokamak,a multi-channel retarding field analyzer(RFA) probe has been developed to study average plasma parameters in the edge region under various poloidal divertor and island divertor configurations. The edge radial profile of the ion-to-electron temperature ratio,τ_(i/e),has been determined, which gradually decreases as the SOL ion self-collisionality,v_(SOL)*,increases.This is broadly consistent with what has been observed previously from various tokamak experiments. However, the comparison of experimental results under different configurations shows that in the poloidal divertor configuration, even under the same v_(SOL)*,τ_(i/e) in the SOL region becomes smaller as the distance from the X-point to the target plate increases. In the island divertor configuration,τ_(i/e) near the O-point is higher than that near the X-point at the same v_(SOL)*,and both are higher than those in the limiter configuration. These results suggest that the magnetic configuration plays a critical role in the energy distributions between electrons and ions at the plasma boundary.

文摘Modern medicine is increasingly interested in advanced sensors to detect and analyze biochemical indicators.Ion sensors based on potentiometric methods are a promising platform for monitoring physiological ions in biological subjects.Current semi-implantable devices are mainly based on single-parameter detection.Miniaturized semi-implantable electrodes for multiparameter sensing have more restrictions on the electrode size due to biocompatibility considerations, but reducing the electrode surface area could potentially limit electrode sensitivity. This study developed a semi-implantable device system comprising a multiplexed microfilament electrode cluster(MMEC)and a printed circuit board for real-time monitoring of intra-tissue K^(+),Ca^(2+),and Na^(+)concentrations. The electrode surface area was less important for the potentiometric sensing mechanism, suggesting the feasibility of using a tiny fiber-like electrode for potentiometric sensing. The MMEC device exhibited a broad linear response(K^(+):2–32 mmol/L;Ca^(2+):0.5–4 mmol/L;Na^(+):10–160 mmol/L),high sensitivity(about 20–45 mV/decade),temporal stability(>2weeks),and good selectivity(>80%)for the above ions.In vitro detection and in vivo subcutaneous and brain experiment results showed that the MMEC system exhibits good multi-ion monitoring performance in several complex environments. This work provides a platform for the continuous real-time monitoring of ion fluctuations in different situations and has implications for developing smart sensors to monitor human health.
文摘All tissues in the body are subjected externally to gravity and internally by collagenfibril and cellular retractive forces that create stress and energy equilibrium required for homeostasis.Mechanotransduction involves mechanical work(force through a distance)and energy storage as kinetic and potential energy. This leads to changes in cell mitosis or apoptosis and the synthesis or loss of tissue components. It involves the application of energy directly to cells through integrin-mediated processes,cell-cell connections, stretching of the cell cytoplasm, and activation of the cell nucleus via yes-associated protein(YAP)and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-motif(TAZ).These processes involve numerous complexes, intermediate molecules, and multiple pathways.Several pathways have been identified from research studies on vertebrate cell culture and from studies in invertebrates. These pathways involve mechanosensors and other molecules that activate the pathways. This review discusses the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)family,Hippo,Hedgehog, and Wingless-related integration site(WNT)/βcatenin signaling pathways. The mediators covered includeβcatenin, ion channels, growth factors, hormone receptors, members of the Ras superfamily, and components of the linker of nucleoskeleton and cytoskeleton(LINC)complex. However, the interrelationship among the different pathways remains to be clarified.Integrin-mediated mechanotransduction involves direct tensile loading and energy applied to the cell membrane via collagenfibril stretching. This energy is transferred between cells by stretching the cell-cell connections involving cadherins and the WNT/βcatenin pathway. These alterations induce changes in intracellular events in the cytoskeleton and nuclear skeleton caused by the release of YAP and TAZ.These coactivators then penetrate through the nuclear pores and influence nuclear cell function.Alteration in the balance of forces and energy applied to cells and tissues is hypothesized to shift the cell-extracellular matrix mechanical equilibrium by modifying mechanotransduction. The shift in equilibrium can lead to either tissue synthesis, genetic modifications,or promotefibrotic diseases, including epithelial cell-derived cancers, depending on the local metabolic conditions.

文摘Atomic radiative data such as excitation energies, transition wavelengths, radiative rates, and level lifetimes with high precision are the essential parameters for the abundance analysis, simulation, and diagnostics in fusion and astrophysical plasmas. 文摘Interactions between deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA) and metal ions are vital for maintaining life functions, however, there are still unsolved questions about its mechanisms. This investigation is helpful for the precise manipulation of single DNA molecules in micro-/nanofluidic space and the design of new biomedical micro-/nanofluidic sensors.

文摘The introduction of bifunctional groups into low-cost adsorbents for selective adsorption of Ag(I) through synergistic effect will have a profound impact on the recovery of precious metals. This work not only sheds light on the promise of functionalized organo-Si NSs for the rapid and selective removal/enrichment of Ag(I) ions in complex water systems, but also provides new insights for designing cost-effective Si NSs-based adsorbents.

文摘Struvite(MAP)crystallization technology is widely used to treat ammonia nitrogen in waste effluents of its simple operation and good removal efficiency. However, the presence of heavy metal ions in the waste effluents causes problems such as slow crystallization rate and small crystal size, limiting the recovery rate and economic value of the MAP.The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of concentrations of three heavy metal ions(Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+),and Pb^(2+))on the crystal morphology, crystal size, average growth rate, and crystallization kinetics of MAP.A relationship was established between the kinetic rate constant Ktcalculated by the chemical gradient model and the concentrations of heavy metal ions. The results showed that low concentrations of heavy metal ions in the solution created pits on the MAP surface, and high level of heavy metal ions generated flocs on the MAP surface, which were composed of metal hydroxides, thus inhibiting crystal growth. The crystal size, average growth rate,MAP crystallization rate, and kinetic rate constant Ktdecreased with the increase in heavy metal ion concentration. Moreover, the Ktdemonstrated a linear relationship with the heavy metal concentration ln(C/C~*),which provided a reference for the optimization of the MAP crystallization process in the presence of heavy metal ions.

文摘A fluorescent active organic–inorganic hybrid material Py N-SBA-15 was synthesized by implementing pyrene derivatives into mesoporous SBA-15 silica.Py N-SBA-15 had detection and removal functionalities toward Al^(3+),Cu^(2+),and Hg^(2+).On the one hand,Py N-SBA-15 was used as a fluorescence sensor and displayed high sensitivity toward Al^(3+),Cu^(2+),and Hg^(2+)cations (limit of detection:8.0×10^(-7),1.1×10^(-7),and 2.9×10^(-6)mol·L^(–1),respectively) among various analytes with“turn-off”response.On the other hand, the adsorption studies for these toxic analytes (Cu^(2+),Hg^(2+),and Al^(3+)) showed that the ion removal capacity could reach up to 45,581,and 85 mg·g^(-1),respectively.Moreover,the Langmuir isotherm models were better fitted with the adsorption data, indicating that the adsorption was mono-layer adsorption.Kinetic analysis revealed that the adsorption process was well described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model for Cu^(2+)and Hg^(2+)and pseudo-first-order kinetic model for Al^(3+).The prepared silica material could be reused in four recycles without significantly decreasing its adsorption capacity. Therefore, the Py N-SBA-15 material can serve as a promising candidate for the simultaneous rapid detection and efficient adsorption of metal ions.

文摘In this work, the effect of ammonium sulfate on the adsorption characteristics of low-concentration Pb(Ⅱ)ions on the sulfidized hemimorphite surface was comprehensively investigated. The results showed that ammonium sulfate could increase the maximum recovery of hemimorphite from 69.42%to 88.24%under a low concentration of Pb(Ⅱ)ions. On the hemimorphite surface pretreated with ammonium sulfate, the adsorption of Pb(Ⅱ)ions was enhanced and the main species of Pb adsorbed was changed from Pb―O/OH to PbS.This was due to the larger amount of ZnS providing more effective adsorption sites for Pb components to generate Pb S.Meanwhile, the intensity of ZnS decreased with the formation of PbS,demonstrating that ZnS was covered by PbS which formed later on the mineral surface. It was beneficial for the adsorption of butyl xanthate on the hemimorphite surface to form more hydrophobic substances. As a result, ammonium sulfate played a crucial role in realizing the efficient recovery of hemimorphite.

文摘A nickel hexacyanoferrate(NiHCF)film electrode was prepared with NiHCF,conductive carbon black, and polyvinylidene difluoride, which was coated on graphite plate substrate for selective extraction of Cs^(+)ions by using electrochemically switched ion exchange(ESIX)technology.A potential-responsive ionpump system for efficient extraction of Cs+ions was designed, and the effect of wet film thicknesses, charging modes, flow rates, and chamber widths on Cs+ions extraction performance was investigated. In the system, the adsorption capacity and removal percentage of Cs^(+)ions on the NiHCF film electrode reached as high as 147.69 mg·g^(-1)and 92.47%,respectively.Furthermore,the NiHCF film electrode showed high selectivity for Cs^(+)ions and stability. After seven cycles of adsorption/desorption,the desorption percentage could reach about 100%.The excellent Cs^(+)extraction performance should be attributed to the strong driving force produced by the potential-responsive ion-pumping effect in the ESIX process,as well as the low ion transfer resistance of the film electrode which is caused by the special crystal structure of NiHCF.In addition, the NiHCF film electrode was implemented to work together with the bismuth oxybromide(BiOBr)film electrode to accomplish the simultaneous extraction of Cs^(+)and Br^(-).And the adsorption capacity and removal percentage of Br^(-)ions on the BiOBr film electrode reached 69.53 mg·g^(-1)and 77.32%,correspondingly.It is expected that such a potential-responsive ion-pump system based on NiHCF and BiOBr film electrodes could be used for the selective extraction and concentration of Cs^(+)and Br^(-)ions from salt lake brine.

文摘A concise analytical model for the static dipole polarizability of ionized atoms and molecules is created for the first time.As input,it requires, alongside the polarizability of neutral counterpart of a given ion, only the charge and elemental composition. This physically motivated semiempirical model is based on a number of established regularities in polarizability of charged monatomic and polyatomic compounds. In order to adjust it,the results of quantum chemistry calculations and gas-phase measurements available for a broad range of ionized multielectron species are employed. To counteract the appreciable bias in the literature data toward polarizability of monoatomic ions, for some molecular ions of general concern the results of the authors'own density functional theory calculations are additionally invoked.A total of 541 data points are used to optimize the model. It is demonstrated that the model we suggested has reasonable(given the substantial uncertainties of the reference data)accuracy in predicting the static isotropic polarizability of arbitrarily charged ions of any size and atomic composition. The resulting polarizability estimates are found to achieve a coefficient of determination of 0.93 for the assembled data set.The created analytic tool is universally applicable and might be advantageous for some applications where there is an urgent need for rapid low-cost evaluation of the static gas-phase polarizability of ionized atoms and molecules. This is especially relevant to constructing the complex models of nonequilibrium chemical kinetics aimed at precisely describing the observable refractive index(dielectric permittivity)of plasma flows. The data sets that support the findings of this study are openly available in Science Data Bank at https://doi.org/10.57760/sciencedb.07526.

文摘Large-scale inverted-V channels of upflowing oxygen ions are frequently identified in data collected by Cluster,at all local times, near the open-closed field line boundary over Earth’s high-latitude ionosphere-occur with downward propagating MHD Alfvén waves which have cascaded into kinetic regimes of plasma. The transverse acceleration of the oxygen ions in the center of these structures is interpreted as the integrated energization by these waves along the channels. Also observed within the channels are upward parallel electric fields,a key characteristic of kinetic Alfvén waves, which may contribute not only to lifting the ions but also to precipitating aurora electrons that might initiate ion upflow in the ionosphere below.Statistics on five-year observations of Cluster show that the channels typically form during geomagnetic perturbations, particularly when solar-wind dynamic pressure is high or highly fluctuated.Near the open-closed field line boundary, the stronger the wave power, the higher the upward oxygen flux and the higher the beam energy, indicating that these waves provide a simple but efficient way to drive oxygen upflows.
