Reliable long-term settlement prediction of a high embankment relates to mountain infrastructure safety. This study developed a novel hybrid model(NHM)that combines a joint denoising technique with an enhanced gray wolf optimizer(EGWO)-n-support vector regression(n-SVR)method.High-embankment field measurements were preprocessed using the joint denoising technique, which in-cludes complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition, singular value decomposition, and wavelet packet transform.Furthermore,high-embankment settlements were predicted using the EGWO-n-SVR method. In this method, the standard gray wolf optimizer(GWO)was improved to obtain the EGWO to better tune the n-SVR model hyperparameters. The proposed NHM was then tested in two case studies. Finally, the influences of the data division ratio and kernel function on the EGWO-n-SVR forecasting performance and prediction efficiency were investigated. The results indicate that the NHM suppresses noise and restores details in high-embankment field measurements.Simultaneously, the NHM out-performs other alternative prediction methods in prediction accuracy and robustness. This demonstrates that the proposed NHM is effective in predicting high-embankment settlements with noisy field mea-surements.Moreover,the appropriate data division ratio and kernel function for EGWO-n-SVR are 7:3 and radial basis function, respectively. 展开更多

The dynamic analysis of a one-DOF RSRRR spatial linkage mechanism, including four rotational joints R and one spherical joint S, is presented in the paper. It is assumed that friction occurs in the rotational joints, whereas a spherical joint can be treated as an ideal one. The mechanism in the form of a closed-loop kinematic chain was divided by cut joint technique into two open-loop kinematic chains in place of the spherical joint. Joint coordinates and homogeneous transformation matrices were used to describe the geometry of the system. Equations of the chains' motion were derived using formalism of Lagrange equations. Cut joint constraints and reaction forces, acting in the cutting place---i.e, in the spherical joint, have been introduced to complete the equations of motion. As a consequence, a set of differential-algebraic equations has been obtained. In order to solve these equations, a procedure based on differentiation twice of the formulated constraint equations with respect to time has been applied. In order to determine values of friction torques in the rotational joints in each integrating step of the equations of motion, joint forces and torques were calculated using the recursive Newton-Euler algorithm taken from robotics. For the requirements of the method, a model of a rotational joint has been developed. Some examples of results of the numerical calculations made have been presented in the conclusions of the paper. 展开更多

Arthrodesis of the sacroiliac joint(SIJ) for surgical treatment of SIJ dysfunction has regained interest among spine specialists.Current techniques described in the literature most often utilize intraoperative fluoroscopy to aid in implant placement;however, image guidance for SIJ fusion may allow for minimally invasive percutaneous instrumentation with more precise implant placement. In the following cases,we performed percutaneous stereotactic navigated sacroiliac instrumentation using O-arm^(?)multidimensional surgical imaging with StealthStation^(?)navigation(Medtronic,Inc.Minneapolis,MN).Patients were positioned prone and an image-guidance reference frame was placed contralateral to the surgical site.O-arm^(?) integrated with StealthStation^(?) allowed immediate autoregistration. The skin incision was planned with an image-guidance probe. An image-guided awl, drill and tap were utilized to choose a starting point and trajectory.Threaded titanium cage(s) packed with autograft and/or allograft were then placed.O-arm^(?) image-guidance allowed for implant placement in the SIJ with a small skin incision. However,we could not track the cage depth position with our current system, and in one patient, the SIJ cage had to be revised secondary to the anterior breach of sacrum. 展开更多

Background:Marginal changes in the execution of competitive sports movements can represent a significant change for performance success. However, such differences may emerge only at certain execution intensities and are not easily detectable through conventional biomechanical techniques. This study aimed to investigate if and how competition standard and progression speed affect race walking kinematics from both a conventional and a coordination variability perspective. Methods:Fifteen experienced athletes divided into three groups(elite, international, and national) were studied while race walking on a treadmill at two different speeds(12.0 and 15.5 km/h).Basic gait parameters, the angular displacement of the pelvis and lower limbs, and the variability in continuous relative phase between six different joint couplings were analyzed. Results:Most of the spatio-temporal,kinematic,and coordination variability measures proved sensitive to the change in speed.Conversely,non-linear dynamics measures highlighted differences between athletes of different competition standard when conventional analytical tools were not able to discriminate between different skill levels.Continuous relative phase variability was higher for national level athletes than international and elite in two couplings(pelvis obliquity—hip flex/extension and pelvis rotation—ankle dorsi/plantarflexion) and gait phases(early stance for the first coupling, propulsive phase for the second) that are deemed fundamental for correct technique and performance. Conclusion:Measures of coordination variability showed to be a more sensitive tool for the fine detection of skill-dependent factors in competitive race walking, and showed good potential for being integrated in the assessment and monitoring of sports motor abilities. 展开更多
