This paper investigates the effect of Lorentz local field correction (LFC) on the propagation of ultrashort laser pulses in a para-nitroaniline molecular medium under resonant and nonresonant conditions by solving numerically the full-wave Maxwell-Bloch equations beyond slowly-varying envelope approximation and rotating-wave approximation. The effect of the LFC is considerably obvious when pulses with large areas propagate in the dense molecular medium. In the case of resonance, the group velocity of the sub-pulses split from the incident pulse along propagation is severely decreased by the LFC, especially for the latest sub-pulse. However, in the case of nonresonance, the influence of the LFC on the temporal evolution of the pulse is less obvious and lacks homogeneity with an increase in incident pulse area, propagation distance and molecular density. 展开更多

Weak localization and antilocalization are quantum transport phenomena that arise from the quantum interference in disordered metals. At low temperatures, they can give distinct temperature and magnetic field dependences in conductivity, allowing the symmetry of the system to be explored. In the past few years, they have also been observed in newly emergent topological materials, including topological insulators and topological semimetals. In contrast from the conventional electrons,in these new materials the quasiparticles are described as Dirac or Weyl fermions. In this article,we review our recent efforts on the theories of weak antilocalization and interaction-induced localization for Dirac and Weyl fermions in topological insulators and topological semimetals. 展开更多

In the present article, we study the electrical resistivity ρ, the thermoelectric power (TEP) α, thermal conductivity σ, Knight-Shifts and temperature coefficient of the Knight-Shifts of the liquid Si and Ge using the well known model potential for the first time. The structure factor used in the present work is derived from the Percus-Yevick (PY) theory. Various local field correction functions are used to study the screening influence. The present results of resistivity are found in qualitative agreement with available experimental and theoretical whenever exists. 展开更多

Ashcroft's local empty core (EMC) model pseudopotential in the second-order perturbation theory is used to study the electron dispersion relation, the Fermi energy, and deviation in the Fermi energy from free electron value for the liquid alkali metals and their equiatomic binary alloys for the first time. In the present computation, the use of pseudo-alloy-atom model (PAA) is proposed and found successful. The influence of the six different forms of the local field correction functions proposed by Hartree (H), Vashishta Singwi (VS), Taylor (T), lehimaru-Utsumi (IU), Farid et al. (F), and Sarkar et al. (S) on the aforesaid electronic properties is examined explicitly, which reflects the varying effects of screening. The depth of the negative hump in the electron dispersion of liquid alkalis decreases in the order Li --→ K, except for Rb and Cs, it increases. The results of alloys are in predictive nature. 展开更多

The Gibbs-Bogoliubov (GB) inequality is applied to investigate the thermodynamic properties of some equiatomic noble metal alloys in liquid phase such as Au-Cu, Ag-Cu, and Ag-Au using well recognized pseudopotential formalism. For description of the structure, well known Percus-Yevick (PY) hard sphere model is used as a reference system. By applying a variation method the best hard core diameters have been found which correspond to minimum free energy. With this procedure the thermodynamic properties such as entropy and heat of mixing have been computed. The influence of local field correction function viz; Hartree (H), Taylor (T), lehimaru-Utsumi (IU), Farid et al. (F), and Sarkar et al. (S) is also investigated. The computed results of the excess entropy compares favourably in the case of liquid alloys while the agreement with experiment is poor in the case of heats of mixing. This may be due to the sensitivity of the heats of mixing with the potential parameters and the dielectric function. 展开更多

View synthesis is an important building block in three dimension(3D) video processing and communications.Based on one or several views, view synthesis creates other views for the purpose of view prediction(for compression) or view rendering(for multiview-display).The quality of view synthesis depends on how one fills the occlusion area as well as how the pixels are created.Consequently, luminance adjustment and hole filling are two key issues in view synthesis. In this paper, two views are used to produce an arbitrary virtual synthesized view. One view is merged into another view using a local luminance adjustment method, based on local neighborhood region for the calculation of adjustment coefficient. Moreover,a maximum neighborhood spreading strength hole filling method is presented to deal with the micro texture structure when the hole is being filled. For each pixel at the hole boundary, its neighborhood pixels with the maximum spreading strength direction are selected as candidates;and among them, the pixel with the maximum spreading strength is used to fill the hole from boundary to center. If there still exist disocclusion pixels after once scan, the filling process is repeated until all hole pixels are filled.Simulation results show that the proposed method is efficient, robust and achieves high performance in subjection and objection. 展开更多

Precise fluorescence imaging of single l-DNA molecules for base pair distance analysis requires a superresolution technique, as these distances are on the order of diffraction limit. Individual l-DNA molecules intercalated with the fluorescent dye YOYO-1 were investigated at subdiffraction spatial resolution by direct stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy(d STORM). Various dye-to-DNA base pair ratios were imaged by photoswitching YOYO-1 between the fluorescent state and the dark state using two laser sources. The acquired images were reconstructed into a super-resolution image by applying Gaussian fitting to the centroid of the point spread function. By measuring the distances between localized fluorophores, the base pair distances in single DNA molecules for dye-to-DNA base pair ratios of 1:50,1:100, and 1:500 were calculated to be 17.1 0.8 nm, 34.3 2.2 nm, and 170.3 8.1 nm[17_TD$IF], respectively, which were in agreement with theoretical values. These results demonstrate that intercalating dye in a single DNA molecule can be photoswitched without the use of an activator fluorophore, and that super-localization precision at a spatial resolution of 17 nm was experimentally achieved. 展开更多
