Research on Low Voltage Series Arc Fault Prediction Method Based on Multidimensional Time-Frequency Domain Characteristics

The load types in low-voltage distribution systems are diverse.Some loads have current signals that are similar to series fault arcs,making it difficult to effectively detect fault arcs during their occurrence and sustained combustion,which can easily lead to serious electrical fire accidents.To address this issue,this paper establishes a fault arc prototype experimental platform,selects multiple commonly used loads for fault arc experiments,and collects data in both normal and fault states.By analyzing waveform characteristics and selecting fault discrimination feature indicators,corresponding feature values are extracted for qualitative analysis to explore changes in timefrequency characteristics of current before and after faults.Multiple features are then selected to form a multidimensional feature vector space to effectively reduce arc misjudgments and construct a fault discrimination feature database.Based on this,a fault arc hazard prediction model is built using random forests.The model’s multiple hyperparameters are simultaneously optimized through grid search,aiming tominimize node information entropy and complete model training,thereby enhancing model robustness and generalization ability.Through experimental verification,the proposed method accurately predicts and classifies fault arcs of different load types,with an average accuracy at least 1%higher than that of the commonly used fault predictionmethods compared in the paper. 展开更多

The experimental results show that fine equiaxed grains are acquired under the action of low voltage pulsed magnetic field. The refinement effect of the pulsed magnetic field is affected by the melt cooling rate and superheating. The decrease of cooling rate and superheating enhance the refinement effect of the low voltage pulsed magnetic field. The magnetic force and the melt flow during solidification are modeled and simulated to reveal the grain refinement mechanism. It is considered that the melt convection caused by the pulsed magnetic field, as well as cooling rate and superheating contributes to the refinement of solidified grains. 展开更多

This paper presents a low voltage, low power RF/analog front-end circuit for passive ultra high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. Temperature compensation is achieved by a reference generator using sub-threshold techniques. The chip maintains a steady system clock in a temperature range from - 40 to 100℃. Some novel building blocks are developed to save system power consumption,including a zero static current power-on reset circuit and a voltage regulator. The RF/analog front-end circuit is implemented with digital base-band and EEPROM to construct a whole tag chip in 0. 18μm CMOS EEPROM technology without Schottcky diodes. Measured results show that the chip has a minimum supply voltage requirement of 0.75V. At this voltage, the total current consumption of the RF/analog frontend circuit is 4.6μA. 展开更多

Based on a physical understanding of nonlinearity and mismatch, a novel offset-cancellation technique for low voltage CMOS differential amplifiers is proposed. The technique transfers the offset voltage from the output to other parts of the differential amplifier and can greatly reduce the input-referred offset voltage without extra power consumption. A 1.8V CMOS differential amplifier is implemented in 0.18μm CMOS process using the proposed technique. The simulation results show that the technique could reduce the input-referred offset voltage of the amplifier by 40% with a 20% load transistor mismatch and a 10% input differential transistor mismatch. Moreover, the proposed technique consumes the least power and achieves the highest integration among various offset-cancellation techniques. 展开更多

Based on the analyses of the reported Gilbert mixers operating at low supply vol tage,a down-conversion mixer and an up-conversion mixer for 2.4GHz bluetooth transceiver are presented with the modified low voltage design techniques,respe ctively.Feedback and current mirror techniques suitable for low voltage operatio n are used to improve the linearity of the up-conversion mixer,and folded-casc ode output stage is adopted to optimize the noise and conversion gain of the dow n-conversion mixer operating at low voltage.Based on 0.35μm CMOS technology,s imulations are performed with 2V supply voltage.The results show that 20dBm thir d-order intercept point (IIP3),87mV output signal amplitude are achieved for up -conversion mixer with about 3mA current;while 20dB conversion gain (CG),6.5nV /Hz input-referred noise,4.4dBm IIP3 are obtained for down-conversion mixer with about 3.5mA current. 展开更多

The rate performance and cycle stability of graphitized needle coke(GNC)as anode are still limited by the sluggish kinetics and volume expansion during the Li ions intercalation and de-intercalation process.Especially,the output of energy density for lithium ion batteries(LIBs)is directly affected by the delithiation capacity below 0.5 V.Here,the mildly expanded graphitized needle coke(MEGNC)with the enlarged interlayer spacing from 0.346 to 0.352 nm is obtained by the two-step mild oxidation intercalation modification.The voltage plateau of MEGNC anode below 0.5 V is obviously broadened as compared to the initial GNC anode,contributing to the enhancement of Li storage below the low voltage plateau.Moreover,the coin full cell and pouch full cell configured with MEGNC anode exhibit much enhanced Li storage ability,energy density and better cycling stability than those full cells configured with GNC and commercial graphite anodes,demonstrating the practical application value of MEGNC.The superior anode behaviors of MEGNC including the increased effective capacity at low voltage and superior cyclic stability are mainly benefited from the enlarged interlayer spacing,which not only accelerates the Li ions diffusion rate,but also effectively alleviates the volume expansion and fragmentation during the Li ions intercalation process.In addition,the above result is further confirmed by the density functional theory simulation.This work provides an effective modification strategy for the NC-based graphite to enhance the delithiation capacity at a low voltage plateau,dedicated to improving the energy density and durability of LIBs. 展开更多

A high performance InAlN/GaN high electron mobility transistor(HEMT)at low voltage operation(6-10 V drain voltage)has been fabricated.An 8 nm InAlN barrier layer is adopted to generate large 2DEG density thus to reduce sheet resistance.Highly scaled lateral dimension(1.2μm source-drain spacing)is to reduce access resistance.Both low sheet resistance of the InAlN/GaN structure and scaled lateral dimension contribute to an high extrinsic transconductance of 550 mS/mm and a large drain current of 2.3 A/mm with low on-resistance(Ron)of 0.9Ω·mm.Small signal measurement shows an fT/fmax of 131 GHz/196 GHz.Large signal measurement shows that the InAlN/GaN HEMT can yield 64.7%-52.7%(Vds=6-10 V)power added efficiency(PAE)associated with 1.6-2.4 W/mm output power density at 8 GHz.These results demonstrate that GaN-based HEMTs not only have advantages in the existing high voltage power and high frequency rf field,but also are attractive for low voltage mobile compatible rf applications. 展开更多

A CMOS active mixer based on voltage control load technique which can operate at 1.0 V supply voltage was proposed, and its operation principle, noise and linearity analysis were also presented. Contrary to the conventional Gilbert-type mixer which is based on RF current-commutating, the load impedance in this proposed mixer is controlled by the LO signal, and it has only two stacked transistors at each branch which is suitable for low voltage applications. The mixer was designed and fabricated in 0.18 tam CMOS process for 2.4 GHz ISM band applications. With an input of 2.44 GHz RF signal and 2.442 GHz LO signal, the measurement specifications of the proposed mixer are: the conversion gain (Gc) is 5.3 dB, the input-referred third-order intercept point (PIIP3) is 4.6 dBm, the input-referred 1 dB compression point (P1dB) is --7.4 dBm, and the single-sideband noise figure (NFSSB) is 21.7 dB. 展开更多

Argon and xenon are both attractive working gas for low voltage ionization chamber(LVIC),which is a promising candidate for ITER X-ray detectors.In this work,the performances of Arfilling LVIC(Ar-LVIC)and Xe-filling LVIC(Xe-LVIC)as well as the impacts of operation parameters were investigated.Saturation curves of Ar-LVIC and Xe-LVIC with pressure from 0.4 to 1.2 bar were measured with a tungsten X-ray source.The minimum voltage of saturation region(V_(min))of Ar-LVIC and Xe-LVIC,the relationship between V_(min)and saturation current,the ideal operating voltage in ITER and impacts of pressure on saturation current were studied.It was found that Ar-LVIC had smaller V_(min)and saturation currents which decreased with the drop of pressure from 1.2 to 0.4 bar;Xe-LVIC had larger V_(min)and saturation currents which did not obviously decrease with the same pressure drop.It is envisaged that ITER can take advantage of the larger saturation current and lower pressure of Xe-LVIC in the non-nuclear operation phase,and flexibility of pressure and low sensitivity to neutron/gamma radiation of Ar-LVIC in the nuclear operation phase. 展开更多

A novel low power and low voltage current mirror with a very low current copy error is presented and the principle of its operation is discussed. In this circuit, the gain boosting regulated cascode scheme is used to improve the output resistance, while using inverter as an amplifier. The simulation results with HSPICE in TSMC 0.18 μm CMOS technology are given, which verify the high performance of the proposed structure. Simulation results show an input resistance of 0.014 Ω and an output resistance of 3 GΩ. The current copy error is favorable as low as 0.002% together with an input (the minimum input voltage of Vin,min- 0.24 V) and an output (the minimum output voltage of Vout,min~ 0.16 V) compliances while working with the 1 V power supply and the 50 μA input current. The current copy error is near zero at the input current of 27 μA. It consumes only 76μW and introduces a very low output offset current of 50 pA. 展开更多

Any surplus production is fed into the grid and contributes to improving the voltage. Several techniques are developed to model their connection. However, studies on methods of injecting energy production into the Low Voltage (LV) network are nowadays a problem. This paper proposes a mathematical model to determine the current to be injected and calculate each node’s voltage. The current equation is a recurrence relation with an initial condition. This initial condition is for the case of a single PV system connected to the LV grid. The equation can also be written in matrix form. Similarly, the voltage solution is a recurrence relation. It also has an initial condition for the first node. Both mathematical formulae with the proposed initial conditions are consistent and can be used for the determination of the current and voltage of the different nodes in the grid. 展开更多

They reach most of the domiciles and other buildings nowadays, so most of the people have access to it. On the other hand the backbone for the communications networks is not available in all countries especially the developing ones. A high cost and changing the design for the networks may be needed to construct this backbone. If data can be transmitted over the power-line networks, a recognized cost and time save can be achieved. In Egypt, the infrastructure is not always available for constructing a communications network backbone due to the already designed buildings before the need for these backbones. In this paper, we overcome this problem by designing a reliable Power-line Modem that operates safely on the low voltage grid. The modem is based on the Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum technique. It uses the mains zero crossing as an efficient way for the synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver. The Modem takes into account the problems of the Power-line including noise, attenuation and impedance dismatching. 展开更多

Accurate topological information is crucial in supporting the coordinated operational requirements of source-load-storage in low-voltage distribution networks.Comprehensive coverage of smart meters provides a database for low-voltage topology identification(LVTI).However,because of electricity theft,power line commu-nication crosstalk,and interruption of communication,the measurement data may be distorted.This can seriously affect the performance of LVTI methods.Thus,this paper defines hidden errors and proposes an LVTI method based on layer-by-layer stepwise regression.In the first step,a multi-linear regression model is developed for consumer-branch connectivity identification based on the energy conservation principle.In the second step,a significance factor based on the t-test is proposed to modify the identification results by considering the hidden errors.In the third step,the regression model and significance threshold parameters are iteratively updated layer by layer to improve the recall rate of the final identification results.Finally,simulations of a test system with 63 users are carried out,and the practical application results show that the proposed method can guarantee over 90%precision under the influence of hidden errors. 展开更多

In multi-fed grid-connected systems,there are complex dynamic interactions between different pieces of equipment.Particularly in situations of weak-grid faults,the dynamic coupling between equipment becomes more pronounced.This may cause the system to experience small-signal instability during the fault steady-state.In this paper,multi-paralleled doubly fed induction generator(DFIG)-based wind farms(WFs)are taken as an example to study the dynamic coupling within a multi-fed system during fault steady-state of symmetrical low voltage ride-through(LVRT)in a weak grid.The analysis reveals that the dynamic coupling between WFs will introduce a damping shift to each WF.This inevitably affects the system’s dynamic stability and brings the risk of small-signal instability during fault steady-state in LVRT scenarios.Increasing the distance to fault location and fault severity will exacerbate the dynamic coupling between WFs.Because of the dynamic coupling,adjusting the control state of one WF will affect the stability of the remaining WFs in the system.Hence,a cooperative control strategy for multi-paralleled DFIG WFs is proposed to improve dynamic stability during LVRT.The analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy are verified by modal analysis and simu-lation. 展开更多
