Based on the results of our first-principles calculations and Monte Carlo simulations,we present a theoretical proposal for a stacking-dependent exchange bias in two-dimensional compensated van der Waals ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic bilayer heterostructures. The exchange bias effect emerges in stacking registries that accommodate inhomogeneous interlayer magnetic interactions between the ferromagnetic layer and different spin sublattices of the antiferromagnetic layer. Moreover, the on/off switching and polarity reversal of the exchange bias can be achieved by interlayer sliding, and the strength can be modulated using an external electric field. Our findings push the limits of exchange bias systems to extreme bilayer thickness in two-dimensional van der Waals heterostructures, potentially stimulating new experimental investigations and applications.展开更多

A regional magnetic gridded dataset was obtained from the Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI) data grid using a 3 × 3 convolution (Hanning) filter to remove regional trends. Major similarities in magnetic field orientation and intensities were observed at identical locations on both the regional and TMI data grids. From the regional and TMI gridded datasets, the residual dataset was generated which represents the very shallow geological features of the basin. Processing this residual data grid using the Source Parameter Imaging (SPI) for magnetic depth suggests that the estimated depths to magnetic sources in the basin range from about 271 m to 3552 m. The highest depths are located in two main locations somewhere around the central portion of the study area which correspond to the area with positive magnetic susceptibilities, as well as the areas extending outwards across the eastern boundary of the study area. Shallow magnetic depths are prominent towards the NW portion of the basin and also correspond to areas of negative magnetic susceptibilities. The basin generally exhibits a variation in depth of magnetic sources with high, average and shallow depths. The presence of intrusive igneous rocks was also observed in this basin. This characteristic is a pointer to the existence of geologic resources of interest for exploration in the basin.展开更多

The governing equations were transformed by similarity transformation and the resulting ordinary differential equations were solved by collocation method. The velocity, temperature, concentration and magnetic induction profiles were determined with help of various flow parameters. The numerical scheme was simulated with aid of MATLAB. The results showed that increasing the squeeze number only boosts velocity and concentration while lowering temperature. Conversely, increasing the Hartmann number, Reynold’s magnetic number, Eckert number and Thermal Grashof number generally increases temperature but decreases both velocity and concentration. Chemical reaction rate and Soret number solely elevate concentration while Schmidt number only reduces it. The results of this study will be useful in the fields of oil and gas industry, plastic processing industries, filtration, food processing, lubrication system in machinery, Microfluidics devices for drug delivery and other related fields of nanotechnology.展开更多

文摘Magnetic reconnection of the self-generated magnetic fields in laser-plasma interaction is an important laboratory method for modeling high-energy density astronomical and astrophysical phenomena. We use the Martin-Puplett interferometer(MPI)polarimeter to probe the peripheral magnetic fields generated in the common magnetic reconnection configuration, two separated coplanar plane targets,in laser-target interaction. We introduce a new method that can obtain polarization information from the interference pattern instead of the sinusoidal function fitting of the intensity.A bidirectional magnetic field is observed from the side view, which is consistent with the magneto-hydro-dynamical(MHD)simulation results of self-generated magnetic field reconnection. We find that the cancellation of reverse magnetic fields after averaging and integration along the observing direction could reduce the magnetic field strength by one to two orders of magnitude. It indicates that imaging resolution can significantly affect the accuracy of measured magnetic field strength.

文摘Two-dimensional(2D)magnet/superconductor heterostructures can promote the design of artificial materials for exploring 2D physics and device applications by exotic proximity effects. However, plagued by the low Curie temperature and instability in air,it is hard to realize practical applications for the reported layered magnetic materials at present. In this paper,we developed a space-confined chemical vapor deposition method to synthesize ultrathin air-stable ε-Fe_(2)O_(3) nanosheets with Curie temperature above 350 K.The ε-Fe_(2)O_(3)/NbSe_(2) heterojunction was constructed to study the magnetic proximity effect on the superconductivity of the NbSe_(2) multilayer. The electrical transport results show that the subtle proximity effect can modulate the interfacial spin–orbit interaction while undegrading the superconducting critical parameters. Our work paves the way to construct 2D heterojunctions with ultrathin nonlayered materials and layered van der Waals(vdW)materials for exploring new physical phenomena.

文摘BACKGROUND Treatment of postoperative anastomotic stenosis for colorectal cancer is often challenging, especially for patients who do not respond well to endoscopy. In cases where patients have undergone an enterostomy, the stenosis can be easily resolved through magnetic compression. However, common magnetic compre-ssion techniques cannot be performed on those without enterostomy. We design-ed a novel Y–Z deformable magnetic ring(Y–Z DMR)and successfully applied it to a patient with a stenosis rectal anastomosis and without enterostomy after rectal cancer surgery.CASE SUMMARY We here report the case of a 57-year-old woman who had undergone a laparo-scopic radical rectum resection(Dixon)for rectal cancer. However, she started facing difficulty in defecation 6 months after surgery. Her colonoscopy indicated stenosis of the rectal anastomosis.Endoscopic balloon dilation was performed six times on her. However, the stenosis still showed a trend of gradual aggravation.Because the patient did not undergo an enterostomy, the conventional endoscopic magnetic compression technique could not be performed.Hence,we imple-mented a Y–Z DMR implemented through the anus under single channel. The magnetic ring fell off nine days after the operation and the rectal stenosis was relieved. The patient was followed up for six months and reported good defeca-tion.CONCLUSION The Y–Z DMR deformable magnetic ring is an excellent treatment strategy for patients with rectal stenosis and without enterostomy.

文摘The acceleration of electrons near three-dimensional(3D)magnetic nulls is crucial to the energy conversion mechanism in the 3D magnetic reconnection process. To explore electron acceleration in a 3D magnetic null topology,we constructed a pair of 3D magnetic nulls in the PKU Plasma Test(PPT)device and observed acceleration of electrons near magnetic nulls. This study measured the plasma floating potential and ion density profiles around the 3D magnetic null. The potential wells near nulls may be related to the energy variations of electrons,so we measured the electron distribution functions(EDFs)at different spatial positions. The axial variation of EDF shows that the electrons deviate from the Maxwell distribution near magnetic nulls. With scanning probes that can directionally measure and theoretically analyze based on curve fitting, the variations of EDFs are linked to the changes of plasma potential under 3D magnetic null topology. The kinetic energy of electrons accelerated by the electric field is 6 eV(v_(e)~7v_(Alfvén-e))and the scale of the region where accelerating electrons exist is in the order of serval electron skin depths.

文摘Ion temperature gradient(ITG)-driven turbulence with embedded static magnetic islands is simulated by utilizing a gyrokinetic theory-based global turbulence transport code(GKNET)in this work.Different from the traditional equilibrium circular magnetic-surface average(EMSA)method,an advanced algorithm that calculates the perturbed magnetic-surface average(PMSA)of the electric potential has been developed to precisely deal with the zonal flow component in a non-circular magnetic surface perturbed by magnetic islands.Simulations show that the electric potential vortex structure inside islands induced by the magnetic islands is usually of odd parity when using the EMSA method. It is found that the odd symmetry vortex can transfer into an even one after a steep zonal flow gradient,i.e.the flow shear has been built in the vicinity of the magnetic islands by adopting the PMSA algorithm. The phase of the potential vortex in the poloidal cross section is coupled with the zonal flow shear.Such an electric potential vortex mode may be of essential importance in wide topics, such as the turbulence spreading across magnetic islands, neoclassical tearing mode physics, and also the interaction dynamics between the micro-turbulence and MHD activities.

文摘BACKGROUND Diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)has been developed to stage liver fibrosis. However, its diagnostic performance is inconsistent among studies. Therefore,it is worth studying the diagnostic value of various diffusion models for liver fibrosis in one cohort.AIM To evaluate the clinical potential of six diffusion-weighted models in liver fibrosis staging and compare their diagnostic performances.METHODS This prospective study enrolled 59 patients suspected of liver disease and scheduled for liver biopsy and 17 healthy participants. All participants underwent multi-b value DWI.The main DWI-derived parameters included Mono-apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)from mono-exponential DWI,intravoxel incoherent motion model-derived true diffusion coefficient(IVIM-D),diffusion kurtosis imaging-derived apparent diffusivity(DKI-MD),stretched exponential model-derived distributed diffusion coefficient(SEM-DDC),fractional order calculus(FROC)model-derived diffusion coefficient(FROC-D)and FROC model-derived microstructural quantity(FROC-μ),and continuous-time random-walk(CTRW)model-derived anomalous diffusion coefficient(CTRW-D)and CTRW model-derived temporal diffusion heterogeneity index(CTRW-α).The correlations between DWI-derived parameters and fibrosis stages and the parameters’diagnostic efficacy in detecting significant fibrosis(SF)were assessed and compared.RESULTS CTRW-D(r=-0.356),CTRW-α(r=-0.297),DKI-MD(r=-0.297),FROC-D(r=-0.350),FROC-μ(r=-0.321),IVIM-D(r=-0.251),Mono-ADC(r=-0.362),and SEM-DDC(r=-0.263)were significantly correlated with fibrosis stages. The areas under the ROC curves(AUCs)of the combined index of the six models for distinguishing SF(0.697-0.747)were higher than each of the parameters alone(0.524-0.719).The DWI models’ability to detect SF was similar. The combined index of CTRW model parameters had the highest AUC(0.747).CONCLUSION The DWI models were similarly valuable in distinguishing SF in patients with liver disease. The combined index of CTRW parameters had the highest AUC.

文摘Recent theory and experiments show that artificial magnetic skyrmions can be stabilized at room temperature without the need for the external magnetic field, casting strong potentials for the device applications. In this work,we study the electric field manipulation of artificial magnetic skyrmions imprinted by Co disks on CoPt multilayers utilizing the micromagnetic simulations. We find that the reversible annihilation and creation of skyrmions can be realized with the electric field via the strain mediated magnetoelastic coupling. In addition,we also demonstrate controllable manipulation of individual skyrmion, which opens a new platform for constructing magnetic field-free and low-energy dissipation skyrmion based media.

文摘A clear microscopic understanding of exchange bias is crucial for its application in magnetic recording, and further progress in this area is desired. Our findings push the limits of exchange bias systems to extreme bilayer thickness in two-dimensional van der Waals heterostructures, potentially stimulating new experimental investigations and applications.

文摘BACKGROUND Despite much work having been conducted on magnetic compression anastomo-sis(MCA)in the digestive tract, there are no reports on the influence of magnetic force on the anastomosis.AIM To investigate the effect of different magnetic force magnets on the MCA of the digestive tract.METHODS Two groups of magnets of the same sizes but different magnetic forces were designed and produced.A total of 24 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into two groups(powerful magnet group and common magnet group),with 12 rats in each group. Two types of magnets were used to complete the colonic side-to-side anastomosis of the rats. The operation time and magnet discharge time were recorded. The anastomotic specimens were obtained 4 wk after the operation and then the burst pressure and diameter of the anastomosis were measured, and the anastomosis was observed via the naked eye and subjected to histological examination.RESULTS The magnetic forces of the powerful and common magnet groups at zero distance were 8.26 N and 4.10 N,respectively. The colonic side-to-side anastomosis was completed in all 24 rats, and the operation success rate and postoperative survival rate were 100%.No significant difference was noted in the operation time between the two groups. The magnet discharge time of the powerful magnet group was slightly longer than that of the common magnet group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P=0.513).Furthermore,there was no statistical difference in the burst pressure(P=0.266)or diameter of magnetic anastomosis(P=0.095)between the two groups. The gross specimens of the two groups showed good anastomotic healing, and histological observation indicated good mucosal continuity without differences on healing.CONCLUSION In the rat colonic side-to-side MCA model, both the powerful magnet with 8.26 N and the common magnet with 4.10 N showed no significant impact on the anastomosis establishment process or its effect.
文摘BACKGROUND Ureteropelvic junction obstruction(UPJO)is a common congenital urinary tract disorder in children. It can be diagnosed as early as in utero due to the presence of hydronephrosis or later in life due to symptomatic occurrence.AIM To evaluate the discrepancy between dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance urography(dMRU)and scintigraphy 99m-technetium mercaptoacetyltriglycine(MAG-3)for the functional evaluation of UPJO.METHODS Between 2016 and 2020,126 patients with UPJO underwent surgery at Robert DebréHospital.Of these,83 received a prenatal diagnosis, and 43 were diagnosed during childhood.Four of the 126 patients underwent surgery based on the clinical situation and postnatal ultrasound findings without undergoing functional imaging evaluation.Split renal function was evaluated preoperatively using scintigraphy MAG-3(n=28),dMRU(n=53),or both(n=40).In this study,we included patients who underwent surgery for UPJO and scintigraphy MAG-3+dMRU but excluded those who underwent only scintigraphy MAG-3 or dMRU.The patients were divided into groups A(<10%discrepancy)and B(>10%discrepancy).We examined the discrepancy in split renal function between the two modalities and investigated the possible risk factors.RESULTS The split renal function between the two kidneys was compared in 40 patients(28 boys and 12 girls)using scintigraphy MAG-3 and dMRU.Differential renal function,as determined using both modalities, showed a difference of<10%in 31 children and>10%in 9 children.Calculation of the relative renal function using dMRU revealed an excellent correlation coefficient with renal scintigraphy MAG-3 for both kidneys.CONCLUSION Our findings demonstrated that dMRU is equivalent to scintigraphy MAG-3 for evaluating split renal function in patients with UPJO.
文摘Aeromagnetic data over the Mamfe Basin have been processed. This characteristic is a pointer to the existence of geologic resources of interest for exploration in the basin.
文摘In this study, Hydromagnetic Squeezing Nanofluid flow between two vertical plates in presence of a chemical reaction has been investigated. The results of this study will be useful in the fields of oil and gas industry, plastic processing industries, filtration, food processing, lubrication system in machinery, Microfluidics devices for drug delivery and other related fields of nanotechnology.

文摘The homogeneous/particulate fluidization flow regime is particularly suitable for handling the various gas–solid contact processes encountered in the chemical and energy industry. This work aimed to extend such a regime of Geldart-A particles by exerting the axial uniform and steady magnetic field.Under the action of the magnetic field, the overall homogeneous fluidization regime of Geldart-A magnetizable particles became composed of two parts:inherent homogeneous fluidization and newly-created magnetic stabilization.Since the former remained almost unchanged whereas the latter became broader as the magnetic field intensity increased, the overall homogeneous fluidization regime could be extended remarkably. As for Geldart-A nonmagnetizable particles, certain amount of magnetizable particles had to be premixed to transmit the magnetic stabilization.Among others, the mere addition of magnetizable particles could broaden the homogeneous fluidization regime. The added content of magnetizable particles had an optimal value with smaller/lighter ones working better. The added magnetizable particles might raise the ratio between the interparticle force and the particle gravity. After the magnetic field was exerted, the homogeneous fluidization regime was further expanded due to the formation of magnetic stabilization flow regime. The more the added magnetizable particles, the better the magnetic performance and the broader the overall homogeneous fluidization regime.Smaller/lighter magnetizable particles were preferred to maximize the magnetic performance and extend the overall homogeneous fluidization regime. This phenomenon could be ascribed to that the added magnetizable particles themselves became more Geldart-A than-B type as their density or size decreased.

文摘Coronal magnetic fields evolve quasi-statically over long timescales and dynamically over short timescales. As of now there exist no regular measurements of coronal magnetic fields, and therefore generating the coronal magnetic field evolution using observations of the magnetic field at the photosphere is a fundamental requirement to understanding the origin of transient phenomena from solar active regions(ARs).Using the magneto-friction(MF)approach,we aim to simulate the coronal field evolution in the solar AR 11429.The MF method is implemented in the open source PENCIL CODE along with a driver module to drive the initial field with different boundary conditions prescribed from observed vector magnetic fields at the photosphere. In order to work with vector potential and the observations,we prescribe three types of bottom boundary drivers with varying free-magnetic energy. The MF simulation reproduces the magnetic structure, which better matches the sigmoidal morphology exhibited by Atmospheric Imaging Assembly(AIA)images at the pre-eruptive time.We found that the already sheared field further driven by the sheared magnetic field will maintain and further build the highly sheared coronal magnetic configuration,as seen in AR 11429.Data-driven MF simulation is a viable tool to generate the coronal magnetic field evolution, capturing the formation of the twisted flux rope and its eruption.

文摘The grain boundary phase affects the magnetic properties and corrosion resistance of sintered NdFeB magnets. In this work,a small amount of In was added to NdFeB magnets by induction melting to systematically investigate its effect on the evolution of the microstructure, magnetic properties and corrosion resistance of NdFeB magnets.Microstructural analysis illustrated that minor In addition generated more grain boundary phases and an abundant amorphous phase at the triple-junction grain boundary. While the addition of In failed to enhance the magnetic isolation effect between adjacent matrix grains, its incorporation fortuitously elevated the electrochemical potential of the In-containing magnets.Besides, during corrosion,an In-rich precipitate phase formed, hindering the ingress of the corrosive medium into the magnet.Consequently, this significantly bolstered the corrosion resistance of the sintered NdFeB magnets. The phase formation, magnetic properties and corrosion resistance of In-doped NdFeB magnets are detailed in this work, which provides new prospects for the preparation of high-performance sintered NdFeB magnets.
