Complex repairable system is composed of thousands of components.Some maintenance management and decision problems in maintenance management and decision need to classify a set of components into several classes based on data mining.Furthermore,with the complexity of industrial equipment increasing,the managers should pay more attention to the key components and carry out the lean management is very important.Therefore,the idea"customer segmentation"of"precise marketing"can be used in the maintenance management of the multi-component system.Following the idea of segmentation,the components of multicomponent systems should be subdivied into groups based on specific attributes relevant to maintenance,such as maintenance cost,mean time between failures,and failure frequency.For the target specific groups of parts,the optimal maintenance policy,health assessment and maintenance scheduling can be determined.The proposed analysis framework will be given out.In order to illustrate the effectiveness of this method,a numerical example is given out. 展开更多

Facility management and maintenance of the Thermal-Energy-Storage Air-Conditioning(TES-AC)system is a tedious task at a large scale mainly due to the charging load that can increase energy consumption if needed to be charged at peak hours.Besides,maintenance of TES-AC at a large scale gets complex as it contains many sensor data.By utilizing deep learning techniques on the sensor data,charging load prediction can be made possible,so facility managers can prepare in advance.However,a deep learning-based application will be unusable if it is not deployed in a user-friendly manner where facility managers can benefit from this application.Hence,this research focuses on gathering design guidelines for a deep learning-based application and further validates the design considerations with a developed application for efficient human-computer interaction through qualitative analysis.The approach taken to gather design guidelines demonstrated a positive correlation between expert-suggested features and the user-friendly aspect of the application as 67.08%of participants found the features suggested by experts to be most satisfactory.Furthermore,it evaluates user satisfaction with the advanced developed application for TES-AC according to the gathered design guidelines. 展开更多

Compressive strength of concrete is a significant factor to assess building structure health and safety.Therefore,various methods have been developed to evaluate the compressive strength of concrete structures.However,previous methods have several challenges in costly,time-consuming,and unsafety.To address these drawbacks,this paper proposed a digital vision based concrete compressive strength evaluating model using deep convolutional neural network(DCNN).The proposed model presented an alternative approach to evaluating the concrete strength and contributed to improving efficiency and accuracy.The model was developed with 4,000 digital images and 61,996 images extracted from video recordings collected from concrete samples.The experimental results indicated a root mean square error(RMSE)value of 3.56(MPa),demonstrating a strong feasibility that the proposed model can be utilized to predict the concrete strength with digital images of their surfaces and advantages to overcome the previous limitations.This experiment contributed to provide the basis that could be extended to future research with image analysis technique and artificial neural network in the diagnosis of concrete building structures. 展开更多

Modeling the Effect of Environmental Conditions on Reliability of Wind Turbines

The climate condition of a wind farm has a significant influence on the reliability of wind turbines. The climate condition varies with season in a year and hence the reliability changes in a complex way. The purpose of this paper is to model the effect of climate condition on field reliability of wind turbines. The reliability is measured by monthly-averaged mean time between failures(MTBF), and the climate conditions are described by variables of monthly-averaged temperature, relative humidity, rainfall and wind speed. Referring to the physicsof-failure models in accelerated life testing(ALT), we develop a quantitative relation between the MTBF and the climate variables. For a set of field data, the model parameters are estimated by regression, and the insignificant variables are gradually deleted based on the P-value of the regression coefficients. The resulting model is useful for maintenance workload forecasting and preventive maintenance planning, and has a potential to be used in online failure prediction. 展开更多
