It is found that turbulence is dominated by the ion temperature gradient(ITG)mode together with large-scale modes characterized by high-frequency electromagnetic fluctuation, which are destabilized by the steep ion temperature gradient in the weak magnetic shear regime. Comparison with solutions of analytical dispersion relations shows that their linear features match well with the beta-induced Alfvén eigenmode branch of the shear Alfvénic spectrum. It is further clarified that the large population of fast ions in these plasmas plays a stabilization role through the dilution mechanism in high-n ITG mode regimes.展开更多

It is found that the ion kinetic effects can decrease the growth rate of the DTMs. This effect is more significant for stronger coupling of DTMs with smaller distance between the rational surfaces. Kinetic ions can also enhance the coupling effect between the two rational surfaces. Energy transfer analyses between particles and wave fields show that the stabilizing effect of kinetic ions comes mainly from the perpendicular magnetic drift of ions in the coupling region and around the outer rational surface.展开更多

Through dynamic analysis, designers can investigate the effects of the clearances on the dynamics of the multibody system. A revolute joint with clearance exhibits three motions which are;free-flight, impact and continuous contact motion modes. Therefore, a multibody system with n-number of revolute clearance joints will exhibit 3n motion modes which are a combination of the three motions in each joint. This study investigates experimentally the nine motion modes in a mechanical system with two revolute clearance joints. A slider crank mechanism has been used as the demonstrative example. We observed that the experimental curve exhibits a greater impact compared to the simulation curve. In conclusion, this experimental investigation offers valuable insights into the dynamics of planar mechanical systems with multiple clearance revolute joints. Utilizing a slider-crank mechanism for data acquisition, the study successfully confirmed seven out of nine motion modes previously identified in numerical research. The missing modes are attributed to inherent complexities in real-world systems, such as journal-bearing misalignment.展开更多

It is found that the spatiotemporal profile of the incident pulsed Laguerre–Gaussian laser beam is strongly reshaped during its propagation in the C60molecular medium. The centrosymmetric temporal profile of the incident pulse gradually evolves into a noncentrosymmetric meniscus shape, and the on-axis pulse duration is clearly depressed. Furthermore, the field intensity is distinctly attenuated due to the field-intensity-dependent reverse saturable absorption, and clear optical power limiting behavior is observed for different orders of the input pulsed Laguerre–Gaussian laser beams before the takeover of the saturation effect;the lower the order of the Laguerre–Gaussian beam, the lower the energy transmittance.展开更多

Herein, a hybrid metal–dielectric nanoantenna composed of six wedgeshaped gold(Au) nanoblocks as well as silica(SiO2) and silicon(Si) nanodiscs is designed and analyzed by the finite element method(FEM). The nanoantenna exhibits flexibility in excitation and manipulation of the anapole mode through the strong coupling between the metal and dielectrics, consequently improving the near-field enhancement at the gap. By systematically optimizing the structural parameters, the electric field enhancement factors at wavelengths corresponding to the anapole modes(AM1 and AM2) can be increased to 518 and 1482, respectively. Moreover, the nanoantenna delivers great performance in optical sensing such as a sensitivity of 550 nm/RIU. The results provide guidance and insights into enhancing the coupling between metals and dielectrics for applications such as surface-enhanced Raman scattering and optical sensing.展开更多

文摘The dynamical prediction of the Asian-Australian monsoon(AAM)has been an important and long-standing issue in climate science. In this study, the predictability of the first two leading modes of the AAM is studied using retrospective prediction datasets from the seasonal forecasting models in four operational centers worldwide. Results show that the model predictability of the leading AAM modes is sensitive to how they are defined in different seasonal sequences, especially for the second mode. The first AAM mode, from various seasonal sequences, coincides with the El Niño phase transition in the eastern-central Pacific. The second mode, initialized from boreal summer and autumn, leads El Niño by about one year but can exist during the decay phase of El Niño when initialized from boreal winter and spring. Our findings hint that ENSO,as an early signal,is conducive to better performance of model predictions in capturing the spatiotemporal variations of the leading AAM modes.Still, the persistence barrier of ENSO in spring leads to poor forecasting skills of spatial features. The multimodel ensemble(MME)mean shows some advantage in capturing the spatiotemporal variations of the AAM modes but does not provide a significant improvement in predicting its temporal features compared to the best individual models in predicting its temporal features. The BCC_CSM1.1M shows promising skill in predicting the two AAM indices associated with two leading AAM modes. The predictability demonstrated in this study is potentially useful for AAM prediction in operational and climate services.

文摘Acoustic signals contain rich discharge information. In this study, the acoustic signal characteristics of transient glow, spark, and glow discharges generated through DC pin–pin discharge were investigated. The signals were analyzed in the time, frequency, and time–frequency domains, and the correlation between the electric and the acoustic signal was studied statistically. The results show that glow discharge does not produce measurable sound signals. For the other modes, with a decrease in the discharge gap,the amplitude of the acoustic signal increases sharply with mode transformation, the short-time average energy becomes higher, and the frequency components are more abundant.Meanwhile, the current pulse and sound pressure pulse have a one-to-one relationship in the transient glow and spark regimes, and they are positively correlated in amplitude.A brief theoretical analysis of the mechanism of plasma sound and the trends of signals in different modes is presented.Essentially, the change in the discharge energy is closely related to the sound generation of the plasma.

文摘Pinhole corrosion is difficult to discover through conventional ultrasonic guided waves inspection, particularly for micro-sized pinholes less than 1 mm in diameter. This study proposes a new micro-sized pinhole inspection method based on segmented time reversal(STR)and high-order modes cluster(HOMC)Lamb waves.First, the principle of defect echo enhancement using STR is introduced.Conventional and STR inspection experiments were conducted on aluminum plates with a thickness of 3 mm and defects with different diameters and depths. The parameters of the segment window are discussed in detail. The results indicate that the proposed method had an amplitude four times larger than of conventional ultrasonic guided waves inspection method for pinhole defect detection and could detect micro-sized pinhole defects as small as 0.5 mm in diameter and 0.5 mm in depth. Moreover, the segment window location and width(5-10 times width of the conventional excitation signal)did not affect the detection sensitivity. The combination of low-power and STR is more conducive to detection in different environments, indicating the robustness of the proposed method.Compared with conventional ultrasonic guided wave inspection methods, the proposed method can detect much smaller defect echoes usually obscured by noise that are difficult to detect with a lower excitation power and thus this study would be a good reference for pinhole defect detection.

文摘The turbulence characteristics of plasmas with internal transport barriers in the HL-2A tokamak are analyzed by means of linear gyrokinetic simulations. It is further clarified that the large population of fast ions in these plasmas plays a stabilization role through the dilution mechanism in high-n ITG mode regimes.

文摘In this paper,an integrated substrate gap waveguide(ISGW)filtering antenna is proposed at millimeter wave band, whose surface wave and spurious modes are simultaneously suppressed.A secondorder filtering response is obtained through a coupling feeding scheme using one uniform impedance resonator(UIR)and two stepped-impedance resonators(SIRs).To increase the stopband width of the antenna, the spurious modes are suppressed by selecting the appropriate sizes of the ISGW unit cell.Furthermore, the ISGW is implemented to improve the radiation performance of the antenna by alleviating the propagation of surface wave. And an equivalent circuit is investigated to reveal the working principle of ISGW.To demonstrate this methodology,an ISGW filtering antenna operating at a center frequency of 25 GHz is designed, fabricated, and measured. The results show that the antenna achieves a stopband width of 1.6f0(center frequency),an out-of-band suppression level of 21 dB,and a peak realized gain of 8.5 dBi.

文摘We investigate the effects of kinetic ions on double-tearing modes(DTMs) using the gyrokinetic particle-in-cell simulation code GEM with a gyrokinetic ion/fluid electron hybrid model. It is found that the ion kinetic effects can decrease the growth rate of the DTMs. This effect is more significant for stronger coupling of DTMs with smaller distance between the rational surfaces. Kinetic ions can also enhance the coupling effect between the two rational surfaces. Energy transfer analyses between particles and wave fields show that the stabilizing effect of kinetic ions comes mainly from the perpendicular magnetic drift of ions in the coupling region and around the outer rational surface.

文摘Offshore engineering construction projects are large and complex, having the characteristics of multiple execution modes andmultiple resource constraints.Their complex internal scheduling processes can be regarded as resourceconstrained project scheduling problems(RCPSPs).To solve RCPSP problems in offshore engineering construction more rapidly,a hybrid genetic algorithmwas established. To solve the defects of genetic algorithms, which easily fall into the local optimal solution,a local search operation was added to a genetic algorithm to defend the offspring after crossover/mutation.Then,an elitist strategy and adaptive operators were adopted to protect the generated optimal solutions, reduce the computation time and avoid premature convergence.A calibrated function method was used to cater to the roulette rules, and appropriate rules for encoding, decoding and crossover/mutation were designed. Finally,a simple network was designed and validated using the case study of a real offshore project. The performance of the genetic algorithmand a simulated annealing algorithmwas compared to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the approach.

文摘We study analytically and numerically the nonlinear collective dynamics of quasi-one-dimensional spin-orbit coupled spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates trapped in harmonic potential. The ground state of the system is determined by minimizing the Lagrange density, and the coupled equations of motions for the center-of-mass coordinate of the condensate and its width are derived. Then, two low energy excitation modes in breathing dynamics and dipole dynamics are obtained analytically, and the mechanism of exciting the anharmonic collective dynamics is revealed explicitly. The coupling among spin-orbit coupling,Raman coupling and spin-dependent interaction results in multiple external collective modes, which leads to the anharmonic collective dynamics. The cooperative effect of spin momentum locking and spin-dependent interaction results in coupling of dipolar and breathing dynamics, which strongly depends on spin-dependent interaction and behaves distinct characters in different phases.Interestingly,in the absence of spin-dependent interaction, the breathing dynamics is decoupled from spin dynamics and the breathing dynamics is harmonic. Our results provide theoretical evidence for deep understanding of the ground sate phase transition and the nonlinear collective dynamics of the system.
文摘Clearances in joints of a mechanical multibody system can induce impulsive forces, leading to vibrations that compromise the system’s reliability, stability, and lifespan. The missing modes are attributed to inherent complexities in real-world systems, such as journal-bearing misalignment.

文摘In this work,we investigated the discharge characteristics and heating mechanisms of argon helicon plasma in different wave coupled modes with and without blue core.Spatially resolved spectroscopy and emission intensity of argon atom and ion lines were measured via local optical emission spectroscopy, and electron density was measured experimentally by an RFcompensated Langmuir probe. The relation between the emission intensity and the electron density was obtained and the wavenumbers of helicon and’Trivelpiece-Gould’(TG)waves were calculated by solving the dispersion relation in wave modes. The results show that at least two distinct wave coupled modes appear in argon helicon plasma at increasing RF power,i.e.blue core(or BC)mode with a significant bright core of blue lights and a normal wave(NW)mode without blue core. The emission intensity of atom line 750.5 nm(lArⅠ750.5nm)is related to the electron density and tends to be saturated in wave coupled modes due to the neutral depletion, while the intensity of ion line 480.6 nm(IArⅡ480.6nm)is a function of the electron density and temperature, and increases dramatically as the RF power is increased.Theoretical analysis shows that TG waves are strongly damped at the plasma edge in NW and/or BC modes, while helicon waves are the dominant mechanism of power deposition or central heating of electrons in both modes. The formation of BC column mainly depends on the enhanced central electron heating by helicon waves rather than TG waves since the excitation of TG waves would be suppressed in this special anti-resonance region.

文摘We study the strong nonlinear optical dynamics of nanosecond pulsed Laguerre–Gaussian laser beams of high-order radial modes with zero orbital angular momentum propagating in the fullerene C60molecular medium. Furthermore, the field intensity is distinctly attenuated due to the field-intensity-dependent reverse saturable absorption, and clear optical power limiting behavior is observed for different orders of the input pulsed Laguerre–Gaussian laser beams before the takeover of the saturation effect;the lower the order of the Laguerre–Gaussian beam, the lower the energy transmittance.

文摘An integration of single-layer proximitycoupling patch antenna and solar cells with bandwidth enhancement and optical energy harvesting is proposed for sustainable communication. For this purpose, many dual-function components are selected for designing the miniaturized solar cell antenna. On the one hand,by greatly affecting the current flow of the rectangular patch, vias and proximity-coupling are introduced to control the resonance modes frequency and matching, respectively, for wideband application, and the radiation performance property can be achieved by high-order mode.On the other hand, vias and proximity-coupling are beneficial to complete direct-current(DC)loop of solar cell and improve compatibility of DC-RF(radio frequency),whereas a high-order mode is beneficial to increase the area of collected light energy. To prove the working principle, fabricated and manufactured solar cell antenna. The measured and simulated results illustrate that the solar cell antenna gain is raised to as high as 9.27 d Bi in4.37 to 5.06 GHz applied to fifth generation communication(5G).

文摘Analyzing and comparing the effects of labor-saving cultivation modes on photosynthesis,as well as studying their vertical canopy architecture, can improve the tree structure of high-quality and high-yield citrus and selection of labor-saving cultivation modes. The photosynthesis of 1080 leaves of two labor-saving cultivation modes(wide-row and narrow-plant mode and fenced mode)comparing with the traditional mode were measured, and nitrogen content of all leaves and photosynthetic nitrogen use efficiency(PNUE)were determined.Unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)-based light detection and ranging(LiDAR)data were used to assess the vertical architecture of three citrus cultivation modes. Results showed that for the wide-row and narrow-plant and traditional modes leaf photosynthetic CO_(2) assimilation rate, stomatal conductance, and transpiration rate of the upper layer were significantly higher than those of the middle layer, and values of the middle layer were markedly higher than those of the lower layer. In the fenced mode,a significant difference in photosynthetic factors between the upper and middle layers was not observed.A vertical canopy distribution had a more significant effect on PNUE in the traditional mode.Leaves in the fenced mode had distinct photosynthetic advantages and higher PNUE.UAV-based LiDAR data effectively revealed the differences in the vertical canopy architecture of citrus trees by enabling calculating the density and height percentile of the LiDAR point cloud. The point cloud densities of three cultivation modes were significantly different for all LiDAR density slices, especially at higher canopy heights. The labor-saving modes, particularly the fenced mode, had significantly higher height percentile data.

文摘Metal–dielectric nanostructures in the optical anapole modes are essential for light–matter interactions due to the low material loss and high near-field enhancement. The results provide guidance and insights into enhancing the coupling between metals and dielectrics for applications such as surface-enhanced Raman scattering and optical sensing.
