The fiber sidepolishing technique converts the coaxial dual-waveguide fiber into a D-type one, and the evanescent wave in the ring core leaks, generating a D-type sensing region;the fiber optic fused ball push technology converts the coaxial dual waveguides into microspheres, and the stimulated cladding mode evanescent wave leaks, producing the microsphere sensing region. By injecting light into the coaxial dual-waveguide middle core alone, the sensor can realize single-stage sensing in the microsphere sensing area;it can also realize dual-channel sensing in the D-type sensing area and microsphere sensing area by injecting light into the ring core. The refractive index measurement ranges for the two channels are 1.333–1.365 and 1.375–1.405, respectively, with detection sensitivities of 981.56 nm/RIU and 4138 nm/RIU. The sensor combines wavelength division multiplexing and space division multiplexing technologies, presenting a novel research concept for multi-channel fiber SPR sensors.展开更多

The skeletal muscle of different locations in pigs, including longissimus dorsi muscle(LDM), psoas major muscle(PMM) and biceps femoris muscle(BFM) were collected and analyzed. Results: Results showed that growing-finishing pigs fed the MP or AP diet improved(P < 0.01) the average daily gain and feed: gain ratio compared with those fed the LP diet, and the MP diet tended to increase(P = 0.09) the weight of LDM. Moreover, the ATP content and energy charge value were varied among muscle samples from different locations of pigs fed the reduced protein diets. We also observed that pigs fed the MP diet up-regulated(P < 0.05) muscular m RNA expression of all the selected key genes, except that myosin heavy chain(My HC) IIb,My HC IIx, while m RNA expression of ubiquitin ligases genes was not affected by dietary CP level. Additionally, the activation of mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1(m TORC1) pathway was stimulated(P < 0.05) in skeletal muscle of the pigs fed the MP or AP diet compared with those fed the LP diet. Conclusion: The results suggest that the pigs fed the MP diet could catch up to the growth performance and the LDM weight of the pigs fed the AP diet, and the underlying mechanism may be partly due to the alteration in energy status, modulation of muscle fiber characteristics and m TORC1 activation as well as its downstream effectors in skeletal muscle of different locations in growing-finishing pigs.展开更多

The demand for commercial use of natural fiber-based composites is increasing in the past few years in many industrial sectors. The increase in popularity of natural fibers is because of their particular properties, price, health benefits, and recyclability. This paper aims to analyze the data and analysis of the past research about NFH sandwiched structure composite in terms of the materials used to make the NFH, the physical and mechanical properties, and their applications. Based on the literature review conducted, there were many types of materials used to make the NFH sandwiched structure composite. Some experimental tests were planned and conducted to analyze the mechanical properties of the NFH and its potential to be used in the desired industries. However, there are not many implementations of NFH composite in the construction industry. This is due to the concern related to the issue of the structural integrity of the NFH composite. From the literature review conducted, most of the research shows a positive analysis of the mechanical properties and the potential of the developed NFH to be used for the targeted industry in the study. Therefore, it can be observed that the material used in this study has a high potential to be used in the construction industry.展开更多

The effects of the oxidation concentration and reaction time on the weight loss, the carboxyl content and the breaking strength of the bamboo pulp fiber yarns were studied and the aggregation structure was investigated by Fourier transform infrared, X-ray and scanning electron microscopy. The results revealed an increase in carboxyl content and a decrease in breaking strength of oxidized bamboo pulp fiber yarns with increasing concentration of oxidant and reaction time. The breaking strength of oxidized bamboo fiber yarns was damaged seriously once the reaction time was more than 120 min or the concentration of oxidant was greater than 1.0%. The crystallinity of bamboo pulp fibers increased slightly under low oxidation degree but decreased with higher oxidation degree.展开更多

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of supplementing lactating sows with HMB on skeletal muscle fiber type transformation and growth of the offspring during d 28 and180 after birth. A total of 20 sows according to their body weight were divided into the control(CON, n = 10) or HMB groups(HMB, n = 10). Sows in the HMB group were supplemented with β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate calcium(HMB-Ca) 2 g/kg feed during d 1 to 27 of lactation. After weaning, 48 mixed sex piglets were blocked by sow treatment and fed standard diets for post-weaning, growing, finishing periods. Growth performance was recorded during d 28 to 180 after birth. Pigs were slaughtered on d 28(n = 6/treatment) and 180(n = 6/treatment) postnatal and the longissimus dorsi(LD) was collected, respectively. Results: The HMB-fed sows during lactation showed increased HMB concentration(P < 0.05) in milk and LD of weaning piglets(P < 0.05). In addition, offsprings in HMB group had a higher finishing BW and lean percentage than did pigs in CON group(P < 0.05), meanwhile, compared with pigs from sows fed the CON diet, pigs from sows fed HMB diet showed higher type Ⅱ muscle fiber cross-sectional area(CSA), elevated myosin heavy chain(MyHC) Ⅱb and Sox6 mRNA, and fast-MyHC protein levels in LD(P < 0.05).Conclusions: HMB supplemented to sow diets throughout lactation increases the levels of HMB in maternal milk and skeletal muscle of pigs during d 28 after birth and promotes subsequent performance of pigs between d 28 and 180 of age by enhancing glycolytic muscle fiber transformation.展开更多

The results indicate that the large pore volume decreases by 57. 8% - 51.2% and by 87. 1% - 88% with the addition of steel fibers and polymers respectively. When both steel fibers and polymers are simultaneously added, the large pore volume decreases by 88.3% - 90.1% . As a surface active material , polymer has a favorable water-reduced and forming-film effect, which is contributed to the decrease of the thickness of water film and the improvement of the conglutination between the fibers and the matrix. Polymers could form a microstructure network. This network structure and the bone structure of cement hydration products penetrate each other and thus the interpenetrating network with sticky aggregate and steel fiber inside forms.展开更多

The sensor combines wavelength division multiplexing and space division multiplexing technologies, presenting a novel research concept for multi-channel fiber SPR sensors.

文摘The application of continuous natural fibers as reinforcement in composite thin-walled structures offers a feasible approach to achieve light weight and high strength while remaining environmentally friendly. In addition, additive manufacturing technology provides a favorable process foundation for its realization. In this study, the printability and energy absorption properties of 3D printed continuous fiber reinforced thin-walled structures with different configurations were investigated. The results suggested that a low printing speed and a proper layer thickness would mitigate the printing defects within the structures. The printing geometry accuracy of the structures could be further improved by rounding the sharp corners with appropriate radii. This study successfully fabricated structures with vari-ous configurations characterized by high geometric accuracy through printing parameters optimization and path smoothing. Moreover, the compressive property and energy absorption characteristics of the structures under quasi-static axial compression were evaluated and compared. It was found that all studied thin-walled structures exhibited progressive folding deformation patterns during compression. In particular, energy absorption process was achieved through the combined damage modes of plastic deformation, fiber pullout and delamination.Furthermore, the com-parison results showed that the hexagonal structure exhibited the best energy absorption performance. The study revealed the structure-mechanical property relationship of 3D printed continuous fiber reinforced composite thin-walled structures through the analysis of multiscale failure characteristics and load response, which is valuable for broadening their applications.

文摘Sufficient clinical evidence suggests that the damage caused by ischemic stroke to the body occurs not only in the acute phase but also during the recovery period, and that the latter has a greater impact on the long-term prognosis of the patient. However, current stroke studies have typically focused only on lesions in the central nervous system, ignoring secondary damage caused by this disease.Such a phenomenon arises from the slow progress of pathophysiological studies examining the central nervous system.Further, the appropriate therapeutic time window and benefits of thrombolytic therapy are still controversial, leading scholars to explore more pragmatic intervention strategies. As treatment measures targeting limb symptoms can greatly improve a patient’s quality of life, they have become a critical intervention strategy. As the most vital component of the limbs, skeletal muscles have become potential points of concern.Despite this,to the best of our knowledge, there are no comprehensive reviews of pathophysiological changes and potential treatments for post-stroke skeletal muscle. The current review seeks to fill a gap in the current understanding of the pathological processes and mechanisms of muscle wasting atrophy, inflammation, neuroregeneration, mitochondrial changes, and nutritional dysregulation in stroke survivors. In addition, the challenges,as well as the optional solutions for individualized rehabilitation programs for stroke patients based on motor function are discussed.

文摘In this paper,to present a lightweight-developed front underrun protection device(FUPD)for heavy-duty trucks, plain weave carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP)is used instead of the original high-strength steel.First, the mechanical and structural properties of plain carbon fiber composite anti-collision beams are comparatively analyzed from a multi-scale perspective. For studying the design capability of carbon fiber composite materials,we investigate the effects of TC-33 carbon fiber diameter(D),fiber yarn width(W)and height(H),and fiber yarn density(N)on the front underrun protective beam of carbon fiber compositematerials.Based on the investigation,a material-structure matching strategy suitable for the front underrun protective beam of heavy-duty trucks is proposed.Next, the composite material structure is optimized by applying size optimization and stack sequence optimization methods to obtain the higher performance carbon fiber composite front underrun protection beam of commercial vehicles. The results show that the fiber yarn height(H)has the greatest influence on the protective beam, and theH1matching scheme for the front underrun protective beamwith a carbon fiber composite structure exhibits superior performance. The proposed method achieves a weight reduction of 55.21% while still meeting regulatory requirements, which demonstrates its remarkable weight reduction effect.

文摘Background: To investigate the effects of dietary crude protein(CP) restriction on muscle fiber characteristics and key regulators related to protein deposition in skeletal muscle, a total of 18 growing-finishing pigs(62.30 ± 0.88 kg)were allotted to 3 groups and fed with the recommended adequate protein(AP, 16 % CP) diet, moderately restricted protein(MP, 13 % CP) diet and low protein(LP, 10 % CP) diet, respectively. Conclusion: The results suggest that the pigs fed the MP diet could catch up to the growth performance and the LDM weight of the pigs fed the AP diet, and the underlying mechanism may be partly due to the alteration in energy status, modulation of muscle fiber characteristics and m TORC1 activation as well as its downstream effectors in skeletal muscle of different locations in growing-finishing pigs.

文摘Background: Vitamin A and its metabolite, retinoic acid(RA),are important regulators of cell differentiation and organ morphogenesis. Its impact on beef cattle muscle growth remains undefined.Method: Angus steer calves were administrated with 0(control) or 150,000 IU vitamin A(retinyl palmitate in glycerol,i.m.) per calf at birth and 1 month of age.At 2 months of age,a biopsy of the Biceps femoris muscle was obtained to analyze the immediate effects of vitamin A injection on myogenic capacity of muscle cells. The resulting steers were harvested at 14 months of age. Results: Vitamin A administration increased cattle growth at 2 months. At 2 months of age,Vitamin A increased PAX7 positive satellite cells and the expression of myogenic marker genes including PAX7,MYF5,MYOD and MYOG.Muscle derived mononuclear cells were further isolated and induced myogenesis in vitro.More myotubes and a higher degree of myogenesis was observed in vitamin A groups.Consistently, vitamin A increased Latissimus dorsi(LD) muscle fiber size at harvest. In addition, vitamin A increased the ratio of oxidative type I and type IIA fibers and reduced the glycolic type IIX fibers.Furthermore,we found that RA,a key bioactive metabolite of vitamin A,activated PPARGC1 A promoter, which explains the upregulated expression of PPARGC1 A in skeletal muscle. Conclusion: Vitamin A administration to neonatal calves enhanced postnatal muscle growth by promoting myogenesis and increasing satellite cell density, accompanied with a shift to oxidative muscle fibers.

文摘This study investigated the expression profiles of Wnt genes in adult porcine longissimus dorsi(LD) from different porcine genotypes and their associations with meat quality. The results showed that Wnt5 a gene expression level was the highest in Jinhua(JHP) pigs, followed by Zhongbai(ZBP),DurocxZhongbai(DZB),and DurocxYorkshirexLandrace(DYL) pigs, with significant differences between ZBP,DZB,and DYL(P<0.05).This genotypic order was reversed for Wnt7 a,Wnt10b,and Wnt11 expression, with JHP and DYL having the lowest and highest expressive levels,respectively.Wnt5 a expression was negatively correlated with pH_(45 min) and △pH(P<0.01),some glycolytic markers(P<0.05),and positively correlated with meat color(a~*),shear force(SF) value(P<0.05),myosion heavy chain(MyHC) I mRNA proportion(P<0.01),turnover ratio of creatine phosphate(CP),and creatine kinase(CK) activity(P<0.05).Opposite correlations were observed for Wnt2,Wnt7 a,Wnt10b,and Wnt11.These results revealed that Wnt5 a,Wnt7a,Wnt10 b,and Wnt11 gene expressions in adult porcine muscle contributed to differences between porcine genotypes and affected pork quality.Wnt5 a gene expression could be beneficial forthe formation of high quality pork by regulating muscle fibertypes and postmortem energy metabolism.
文摘To find out the high-quality polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers, some differences are sought by comparing domestic PAN fibers with the foreign ones. X-ray diffractometer (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer, elemental analyzer, tensile-testing machine and high-temperature differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) are used to characterize the individual microstructure, chemical structure, elemental content, mechanical properties and thermal properties. It is found that high-quality PAN fibers have high density, lower titre, higher or adequate tensile strength, and they also have better conglomeration structure, smaller crystal dimension with dispersive distribution, less microvoids and flaws.
文摘Natural Fiber Honeycomb (NFH) sandwiched structure composite is a type of composite that uses natural fiber as the reinforcement material and honeycomb structure in the form of a sandwich panel. Therefore, it can be observed that the material used in this study has a high potential to be used in the construction industry.

文摘The oxidized bamboo pulp fiber yarns were prepared by the HNO3?/H3PO4-NaNO2 oxidation system. The crystallinity of bamboo pulp fibers increased slightly under low oxidation degree but decreased with higher oxidation degree.

文摘Background: Previous studies suggested that supplementation of lactating sows with β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate(HMB) could improve the performance of weaning pigs, but there were little information in the muscle fiber type transformation of the offspring and the subsequent performance in pigs from weaning through finishing in response to maternal HMB consumption. In addition, offsprings in HMB group had a higher finishing BW and lean percentage than did pigs in CON group(P < 0.05), meanwhile, compared with pigs from sows fed the CON diet, pigs from sows fed HMB diet showed higher type Ⅱ muscle fiber cross-sectional area(CSA), elevated myosin heavy chain(MyHC) Ⅱb and Sox6 mRNA, and fast-MyHC protein levels in LD(P < 0.05).Conclusions: HMB supplemented to sow diets throughout lactation increases the levels of HMB in maternal milk and skeletal muscle of pigs during d 28 after birth and promotes subsequent performance of pigs between d 28 and 180 of age by enhancing glycolytic muscle fiber transformation.
文摘The compatibility between a fiber optical sensor and concrete structure in the optic fiber smart concrete is studied. The methods of improving the compatibility are proposed based on theory analysing, and a novel fiber optical sensor was developed. The experimental results show that the novel structure of fiber optical sensor and the scheme of the protecting layer of epoxy resin bed composite not only enable the sensor to be applied in strict environment, but also can monitor the beginning propagation and breaking of concrete cracks. The results also indicate that the sensor will maintain its properties in the case of large deformation and that it has the high compatibility with concrete structure and can meet special needs of the intelligent materials and structure.

文摘In this study,Tremella fuciformis residues as raw material, dietary fibers from tremella were prepared by multiple enzymes. The structure of dietary fibers from tremella was studied by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR),X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).We analyzed their lipidlowering properties in vitro(water holding, oil holding swelling cholesterol and sodium cholate binding capacitises)and the hypolipidemic effects in mice. The results showed that tremella dietary fibers presented the infrared absorption spectrum characteristics of polysaccharides and the characteristic diffraction peaks of cellulose type I.SEM results indicated that the surface of insoluble dietary fiber(IDF)was porous, while the soluble dietary fiber(SDF)was relatively compact and spongy.IDF exhibited significantly higher water holding, oil holding, and swelling binding capacities than the corresponding SDF.However,SDF exhibited significantly higher viscosity than IDF.The results showed tremella dietary fibers were significant in swelling, water holding and oil holding, cholesterol and bile acids. In vivo experiment results in mice indicated that SDF has the best effect on hyperlipidemia mice than IDF and total dietary fiber(TDF).SDF showed that the total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG)and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)contents dropped by 28.33%,18.65%,and 48.97%,respectively,while high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)content increased by 43.80%.Compared with the high-fat control(HCM)group, the arteriosclerosis index(AI)and liver index(LI)of the SDF group mice showed significant differences, indicating that SDF has a good auxiliary effect of lowering blood lipids. The administration of tremella fibers improved the lipid metabolism disorderly situation of hyperlipidemia mice. These results provide a reference for further research and rational development of T.fuciformis.
文摘Mercury intrusion porosimetry was used to measure the pore structure of steel fiber reinforced polymer-cement-based composite. This network structure and the bone structure of cement hydration products penetrate each other and thus the interpenetrating network with sticky aggregate and steel fiber inside forms.
文摘In this paper, the microstructure change of one step-draw PET fiber has been studied byvarious methods, such as, Laser Raman Microscope, Wide-angle X-ray, Density-gradient andPolarizing Microscope. The computer has been used to resolve overlapped bands in the Ramanspectra. Then the band changes have been correlated with trans, gauche and stressed trans-conformations indicated by a conformational index. Based on these indices, the relationshipbetween the conformation change of glycol units in the fiber structure and the macromechanicalproperties of fiber is expounded.
