This paper aims to explore how a veteran teacher organizes online teaching initiated by the pandemic and how she deals with the problems in online teacher-student verbal interaction.By analyzing a corpus of 20 audio-r...This paper aims to explore how a veteran teacher organizes online teaching initiated by the pandemic and how she deals with the problems in online teacher-student verbal interaction.By analyzing a corpus of 20 audio-recorded online lessons between a math teacher and her students during the COVID-19 pandemic from April 11 to May 10,2022,four interactional segments are selected as the focus of the study.The results of the conversation analysis of the segments showed that students’modesty,lack of confidence,lack of ability,and network delay are the main factors affecting online teacher-student interaction.By encouraging students to answer questions,enlightening students to give answers,enriching students’answers,and entertaining the teaching atmosphere(“4Es”strategies),the teacher solved the problems successfully.The findings from this study can provide pedagogical experience and implications for practical teaching.展开更多

As professors are subjected to teaching their classes online due to the recent COVID-19, our local Hong Kong students find it difficult to consult their teachers, and ultimately would fail to achieve the intended lear...As professors are subjected to teaching their classes online due to the recent COVID-19, our local Hong Kong students find it difficult to consult their teachers, and ultimately would fail to achieve the intended learning outcomes, especially for practical-based subjects. In this research, students having online classes of a practical-based fabric design subject were encouraged to self-study from Open Educational Resource (OER) materials for a further and better understanding of their subject. Additionally, online materials were developed to improve students’ understanding via skill of digital literacy. Their learning progress was evaluated and compared to the face-to-face version. The majority of students found online classes combined with self-studying OER materials, potentially be a substitute for face-to-face classes. Most of the students further opined different OER videos assisted them without any face-to-face instructions in practical works, to develop new fabric samples from the inspiration. Analysis of test results, and comparison of students’ final grades with different learning modes, supported these phenomena.展开更多

A data processing center is constructed in the B/S structure and the network environment, Open Core kernel is used to realize the optimization of teaching model of English online courses, improve the teaching platform of online courses, and improve the scene adaptation ability. 文摘Aiming at the characteristics of huge knowledge points,strong practicality and diversity of software security course,adhering to the“Π”scheme for emerging engineering education,based on Tencent classroom,Tencent conference and Lan ink cloud class,and guided by BOPPPS teaching model and deep learning theory,“three preparations before class,five channels in class and five tracking after class”is proposed.Three preparations before class and five tracking after class serve the five channels in class.Five channels in class take live teaching as the core,and teach students knowledge through five channels.Practice has proved that this mode can effectively solve the problem of teaching a large number of knowledge in limited class hours,improve students’practical ability and enhance the effect of classroom teaching.
