This paper explores the potential of applying online collaborative documents to foster critical thinking skills in EFL college-level classrooms.Considering the limitations of traditional teacher-centered approaches and the need for innovative methods,the study examines the integration of online collaborative tools,using Tencent Docs as an example.The discussion highlights the importance of critical thinking in the academic and professional spheres and introduces the concept of online collaborative documents for enhancing this cognitive skill.Through a detailed exploration,the paper presents a model of employing collaborative documents within a college English class,demonstrating how students collaboratively learning an article.Then,the paper discusses the pros and cons of employing this technology in classroom.The conclusion emphasizes the transformative potential of integrating technology into pedagogy and its role in creating a dynamic learning environment.The paper underscores the importance of striking a balance between technology and traditional methods,foreseeing avenues for further research and development. 展开更多

Combining the People Power and the Process Power to Achieve Six Sigma Process Capability——A Case Study

Achieving Six-Sigma process capability starts with l istening to the Voice of the Customers, and it becomes a reality by combining th e People Power and the Process Power of the organisation. This paper presents a Six-Sigma implementation case study carried out in a magnet manufacturing compa ny, which produces bearing magnets to be used in energy meters. If the thickness of the produced bearing magnets is between 2.35 mm and 2.50 mm, they will be ac cepted by the customers. All the time the company could not produce the bearing magnets within the specified thickness range, as their process distribution was flat with 2.20 mm as lower control limit and 2.60 mm as upper control limit. This resulted in a huge loss in the form of non-conformities, loss of time and goodwill. The process capability of the company then was around 0.40. Organisat ion restructuring was carried out to reap the benefit of the People Power of the organisation. Statistically designed experiments (Taguchi Method based Design o f Experiments), Online quality control tools (Statistical Process Control To ols) were effectively used to complete the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Impr ove and Control) cycle to reap the benefit of the Process Power of the organisat ion. Presently the company enjoys a process capability of 1.75, a way towards Si x-Sigma Process Capability. 展开更多

We focused on the e-assessment in college English writing issue from an online assessment tool perspective. Different from previous inquiries, this research addressed the importance of e-assessment in the study of college English writing. In particular, we aim to examine the importance of the e-assessment. We start with a brief introduction of e-assessment. An additional discussion of the use of e-assessment is also provided. We end the study with the conclusion that e-assessment plays an important role in college English writing. We identify in our study that the forms and the effectiveness of assessment in writhing have direct effect on learners' understanding of the curriculum of college English writing and determine their capacity to make advances in college English writing. As a result, we can propose that e-assessment plays a critical role in the learning experience in college English writing. 展开更多

Genetic map is a linear arrangement of the relative positions of sites in the chromosome or genome based on the recombination frequency between genetic markers.It is the important basis for genetic analysis.Several kinds of software have been designed for genetic mapping,but all these tools require users to write or edit code,making it time-costing and difficult for researchers without programming skills to handle with.Here,MG2C,a new online tool was designed,based on PERL and SVG languages.Users can get a standard genetic map,only by providing the location of genes(or quantitative trait loci)and the length of the chromosome,without writing additional code.The operation interface of MG2C contains three sections:data input,data output and parameters.There are 33 attribute parameters in MG2C,which are further divided into 8 modules.Values of the parameters can be changed according to the users’requirements.The information submitted by users will be transformed into the genetic map in SVG file,which can be further modified by other image processing tools.MG2C is a user-friendly and time-saving online tool for drawing genetic maps,especially for those without programming skills.The tool has been running smoothly since 2015,and updated to version 2.1.It significantly lowers the technical barriers for the users,and provides great convenience for the researchers. 展开更多
