In this paper, the fabricated white OLED contains a 452-nm blue emitting layer (thickness of 30 nm) with 1 wt% LOFX doped in CBP (4,4'-bis(carbazol-9-yl)biphenyl) host and a 584-nm orange emitting layer (thickness of 10 nm) with 0.8 wt% DCJTB (4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-tert-butyl-6-(1,1,7,7- tetramethyljulolidin-4-yl-vinyl)-4H-pyran) doped in CBE which are separated by a 20-nm-thick buffer layer of TPBi (2,2',2"-(benzene-1,3,5-triyl)-tri(1-phenyl-lH-benzimidazole). A high color rendering index (CRI) of 84.5 and CIE chromaticity coordinates of (0.33, 0.32), which is close to ideal white emission CIE (0.333, 0.333), are obtained at a bias voltage of 14 V. Taking into account that LOFX is less expensive and the synthesis and purification technologies of LOFX are mature, these results indicate that blue fluorescence emitting LOFX is useful for applications to white OLEDs although the maximum current efficiency and luminance are not high. However, fabrication of large-area organic micro-/nanocrystal arrays with consistent crystal growth direction has posed a significant technical challenge. Here, we describe a solution-processed dip-coating technique to grow large-area, aligned 9,10-bis(phenylethynyl) anthracene(BPEA) and 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene(TIPSPEN) single-crystalline nanoribbon arrays. The method is scalable to a 5 9 10 cm^2 wafer substrate, with around 60% of the wafer surface covered by aligned crystals. The quality of crystals can be easily controlled by tuning the dip-coating speed. Furthermore, OFETs based on well-aligned BPEA and TIPS-PEN single-crystalline nanoribbons were constructed.By optimizing channel lengths and using appropriate metallic electrodes, the BPEA and TIPS-PEN-based OFETs showed hole mobility exceeding 2.0 cm^2V^(-1)s^(-1)(average mobility 1.2 cm^2V^(-1)s^(-1)) and 3.0 cm^2V^(-1)s^(-1)(average mobility2.0 cm^2V^(-1)s^(-1)), respectively. They both have a high on/off ratio(I_(on)/I_(off))>10~9. The performance can well satisfy the requirements for light-emitting diodes driving.展开更多

The color coordinate and color stability are related to the location of multiple dopants layer, and the optimized location can compensate for the change of the blue emission intensity under a high voltage and stabilize the spectrum. The electro-optic performances and color stability can be further improved by changing the composition and thickness of the buffer layer between the emitting layer and the electron transport layer. In device B2, the distance from multiple dopant layer to buffer layer is 2 nm and the thickness of buffer layer is 5 nm,the maximum luminance, current density, and power efficiency can reach 9091 cd/m^2, 364.5 mA/cm^2, and 26.74 lm/W,respectively. The bipolar interlayer is a mixture of p-type diphenyl (l0-phenyl-lOH-spiro [acridine-9,9'-fluoren]-3Lyl) phosphine oxide and n-type 2',2- (1,3,5-benzinetriyl)-tris(1-phenyl-l-H-benzimidazole). The electroluminance and Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE1931) coordinates' characteristics can be modulated easily by adjusting the ratio of the hole- predominated material to the electron-predominated material in the interlayer. The hybrid WOLED with a p-type:n-type ratio of 1:3 shows a maximum current efficiency and power efficiency of 61.1 ed/A and 55.8 lm/W, respectively, with warm white CIE coordinates of (0.34, 0.43). The excellent efficiency and adaptive CIE coordi- nates are attributed to the mixed interlayer with improved charge carrier balance, optimized exciton distribution, and enhanced harvesting of singlet and triplet excitons.展开更多

Cardo type binder polymer containing bulky and rigid fluorene group has been widely used in the black photoresist formulation. However, the commercial cardo binder polymer has high cost and requires high UV dose for the fine patterning of PDL in the photolithographic process. In this study we designed and synthesized various non-cardo type binder polymers and evaluated the new binder polymers in comparison with the cardo binder polymer for the improved patterning of PDL on the OLED panel.展开更多

X-ray diffraction shows that the crystalline quality of the GaN buffer layer is greatly improved with the introduction of the SiNx interlayer. The electrical properties are also improved. For example, electron mobility and sheet resistance are reduced from high resistance to 31.6 cm2/(V· s) and 460 Ω/respectively. Owing to the significant effect of the SiNx interlayer, a-plane LEDs are realized. Electrolurninescence of a nonpolar a-plane light-emitting diode with a wavelength of 488nm is demonstrated. The emission peak remains constant when the injection current increases to over 20 mA.展开更多

The optimum ris-(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum (Alq3)-based organic light-emitting diode with a c-HTL exhibits a lower turn-on voltage of 2.8 V, a higher maximum current efficiency of 3.40 cd/A and a higher maximum power efficiency of 1.91 lm/W, which are superior to those of the conventional device (turn-on voltage of 3.8 V, maximum current efficiency of 2.60 cd/A, and maximum power efficiency of 1.21 lm/W). We systematically studied the effects of different kinds of N’-diphenyl-N,N’-bis(1-naphthyl)(1,1’-biphenyl)-4,4’diamine (NPB):ZnPc c-HTL. Meanwhile, we also investigate their mechanisms different from that in the case of using ZnPc as buffer layer. The specific analysis is based on the absorption spectra of the hole transporting material and current density–voltage characteristics of the corresponding hole-only devices.展开更多

To depress the exciplex in an OLED for pure colour light emission, 4, 4'-N,N'-dicarbazole-biphenyl (CBP) was inserted as a separator at the donor/acceptor interface. It was found that the device without the CBP layer emitted a green light peaking at 542 nm from the exciplex and a shoulder peak about 430 nm from F2Py. In contrast, the OLED with CBP layer emitted only a blue light peak at about 432 nm from F2Py. Device efficiencies were calculated by a simulative mode in an injection controlled type mechanism, and the results showed that exciplexes yield much lower quantum efficiency than excitons. The device with CBP has a higher power efficiency as no exciplex was present.展开更多

The variation range of the correlated color temperature (CCT) is an important parameter to measure the performance of CT-OLEDs. In this paper, the effect of changing the utilization of phosphorescent materials and the position of the recombination zone (RZ) in the device are investigated by changing the thickness of the emissive layer (EML) and the doping ratio of the host and guest materials. The results show that reducing the red phosphorescent material and improving the blue phosphorescent material can affect the change direction of CCT, but it is not enough to expand the span of CCT (ΔCCT). It is more conducive to improving ΔCCT by more reasonable regulation of the position of the main RZ in EML and the energy transfer from the blue sub-EML to the red sub-EML. Device D obtains the best electro-optic and spectral characteristics, in which the maximum ΔCCT is 5746 K (2661 - 8407 K) as the voltage changes from 3.75 V to 9.75 V, the maximum current efficiency and luminance reach 18.34 cd·A-1 and 12,100 cd·m-2, respectively.展开更多

In these devices, Alq3 is used as emission layer, and a bilayer film of N,N bis (1 naphhyl) N,N diphenyl 1,1 biphenyle 4,4' diamine(NPB) and 4,4,4' tris(3 methyl phenylphenylamino) triphenylamine( m MTDATA) used as hole transport layer(HTL). The electroluminescent performance of devices with different thicknesses of Alq3∶Li shows that the insertion of the lithium doped Alq3 layer can reduce the turn on voltage by at least 2 volts, and the stability of devices with this lithium doped Alq3 layer is improved too. It can also change the efficiency of devices. Compared with an ultra thin lithium fluoride(LiF) layer, Alq3∶Li sheet gives similar effects but higher efficiency and can be much thicker and hence it is easier to control the deposition.展开更多

文摘Organic field-effect transistors(OFETs) based on organic micro-/nanocrystals have been widely reported with charge carrier mobility exceeding 1.0 cm^2V^(-1)s^(-1), demonstrating great potential for high-performance, low-cost organic electronic applications. The performance can well satisfy the requirements for light-emitting diodes driving.

文摘Abstract:Hybrid inorganic/organic white organic light emitting diodes(hybrid-WOLEDs)are fabricated by combi-ning the blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes(PHOLEDs)with red Sr2SiO4:Eu3+phosphor spin coatedas a color conversion layer(CCL)over the other side of glass substrate on the devices. The basic configuration of thePHOLEDs consists a host material,N,N'-dicarbazolyl-3,5-benzene(mCP)which doped with a blue phosphorescentiridium complexes iridium(Ⅲ)bis[(4,6-di-fluorophenyl)-pyridinato-N-C2'](FIrpic)to produce high efficient blueorganic light emitting diodes. The hybrid-WOLED shows maximum luminous efficiency of 22.1 cd/A,maximumpower efficiency of 11.26 lm/W,external quantum efficiency of 10.2%and CIE coordinates of(0.32,0.34).Mo-reover,the output spectra and CIE coordinates of the hybrid-WOLED have a small shift in different driving currentdensity, which demonstrate good color stability.
文摘A series of white phosphorescent OLED devices with buffer layer and multiple dopant structure is investigated in order to obtain better electro-optic performances and color stability. The variation of international commission on the illumination(CIE) coordinate of device B2 with voltage increasing from 4 V to 7 V is only(0.006, 0.004).

文摘We have fabricated high-efficient white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) using two types of electron transport materials with different electron mobility. The effect of the electron mobility on the device performance is discussed. In addition, to generate the desired white emission and high color rendering index, we perform the structure design of OLED, in which the functions of co-host of blue and green dopants on chromatic-stability are investigated. Experimental results find that the maximum color rendering index reaches as high as 91 at the voltage of 8 V.

文摘Highly efficient and stable hybrid white organic light-emitting diodes (HWOLEDs) with a mixed bipolar interlayer between fluorescent blue and phosphorescent yellow emitting layers are demonstrated. The excellent efficiency and adaptive CIE coordi- nates are attributed to the mixed interlayer with improved charge carrier balance, optimized exciton distribution, and enhanced harvesting of singlet and triplet excitons.
文摘The fabrication of black pixel define layer (PDL) on the organic light emitting diode (OLED) panel has been developed actively by using negative-tone black photoresist which contain photoinitiator, photosensitizer, binder polymer, multifunctional monomer and black mill base in order to improve the outdoor visibility of OLEDs. Cardo type binder polymer containing bulky and rigid fluorene group has been widely used in the black photoresist formulation. However, the commercial cardo binder polymer has high cost and requires high UV dose for the fine patterning of PDL in the photolithographic process. In this study we designed and synthesized various non-cardo type binder polymers and evaluated the new binder polymers in comparison with the cardo binder polymer for the improved patterning of PDL on the OLED panel.

文摘We report on the growth and fabrication of nonpolar a-plane light emitting diodes with an in-situ SiNx interlayer grown between the undoped a-plane GaN buffer and Si-doped GaN layer. The emission peak remains constant when the injection current increases to over 20 mA.

文摘We demonstrate that the electroluminescent performances of organic light-emitting diodes are significantly improved by employing a zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc)-based composite hole transport layer (c-HTL). The specific analysis is based on the absorption spectra of the hole transporting material and current density–voltage characteristics of the corresponding hole-only devices.

文摘Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) composed of a novel fluorene derivative of 2,3-bis(9,9-dihexyl-9H-fluoren- 2-yl)-6,7-difluoroquinoxaline (F2Py) were fabricated, and exciplex emission was observed in the device. The device with CBP has a higher power efficiency as no exciplex was present.

文摘We report on white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) based on polyvinylcarbazole (PVK) doped with 1,1-bis((di-4-tolylamino)phenyl)cyclohexane (TAPC) and perylene, and investigate the luminescence mechanism of the devices. The chromaticity of light emission can be tuned by adjusting the concentration of the dopants. White light with the Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.33, 0.34) is achieved by mixing the yellow electromer emission of TAPC and the blue monomer emission of perylene from the device ITO/PVK: TAPC: perylene (100:9:1 in wt.) (100 nm)/tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum (Alq3) (10 nm)/A1. The device exhibits a maximal luminance of 3727 cd/m2 and a current efficiency of 2 cd/A.
文摘An efficient color-tunable hybrid white organic light-emitting diode is demonstrated with double interlayers of 2,7-bis(carbazol-9-yl)-9,9-ditoylfluo- rene/2-(diphenylphosphoryl) spiroflu-orene (DMFL-CBP/SPPO1) inserted between blue fluorescent and yellow phosphorescent-emitting layers, and exhibits Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE1931) ranging from warm white (0.4368, 0.4497) to cool white (0.2781, 0.2896) with driving current density from 0.2 to 40 mA/cm2. The recombination of singlet and the triplet excitons in blue fluores-cent-emitting layer and yellow phosphorescent-emitting layer, respectively, can be modulated by both the thickness of these double interlayers and the applied current densities.
文摘Using a color-tunable organic light-emitting diode (CT-OLED) can accord with the circadian cycle of humans and realize healthy lighting. Device D obtains the best electro-optic and spectral characteristics, in which the maximum ΔCCT is 5746 K (2661 - 8407 K) as the voltage changes from 3.75 V to 9.75 V, the maximum current efficiency and luminance reach 18.34 cd·A-1 and 12,100 cd·m-2, respectively.
文摘lNovel lithium doped tris 8 hydroxylquinoline aluminium(Alq3:Li) layer is deposited between emission layer and electron injection aluminium electrode as an electron injection assistant layer in different organic light emitting diodes(OLED) to lower the electron injection barrier. Compared with an ultra thin lithium fluoride(LiF) layer, Alq3∶Li sheet gives similar effects but higher efficiency and can be much thicker and hence it is easier to control the deposition.
