However, in traditional PSO, particles primarily update based on two extreme values: personal best and global best, which limits the diversity of information. Ideally, particles should learn from multiple advantageous particles to enhance interactivity and optimization efficiency. Accordingly, this paper proposes a PSO that simulates the evolutionary dynamics of species survival in mountain peak ecology (PEPSO) for feature selection. Based on the pyramid topology, the algorithm simulates the features of mountain peak ecology in nature and the competitive-cooperative strategies among species. According to the principles of the algorithm, the population is first adaptively divided into many subgroups based on the fitness level of particles. Consequently, all particles play their respective roles in promoting the global optimization performance of the algorithm, similar to different species in the ecological pattern of mountain peaks. Experimental validation of the PEPSO performance was conducted on 18 public datasets. The experimental results demonstrate that the PEPSO outperforms other PSO variant-based feature selection methods and mainstream feature selection methods based on intelligent optimization algorithms in terms of overall performance in global search capability, classification accuracy, and reduction of feature space dimensions. It can be described with differential algebraic equations(DAEs). In this paper, a particle swarm optimization(PSO) method is introduced to solve and control a symplectic multibody system for the first time. It is first combined with the symplectic method to solve problems in uncontrolled and controlled robotic arm systems. It is shown that the results conserve the energy and keep the constraints of the chaotic motion, which demonstrates the efficiency, accuracy, and time-saving ability of the method. To make the system move along the pre-planned path, which is a functional extremum problem, a double-PSO-based instantaneous optimal control is introduced. Based on analysis of the seepage characteristics of an earth rock dam, a novel seepage safety monitoring model was constructed in this study. The nonlinear influence processes of the antecedent reservoir water level and rainfall were assumed to follow normal distributions. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was used to optimize the model parameters so as to raise the fitting accuracy. In addition, a mutation factor was introduced to simulate the sudden increase in the piezometric level induced by short-duration heavy rainfall and the possible historical extreme reservoir water level during a typhoon. In order to verify the efficacy of this model, the earth rock dam of the Siminghu Reservoir was used as an example. The piezometric level at the SW1-2 measuring point during Typhoon Fitow in 2013 was fitted with the present model, and a corresponding theoretical expression was established. Comparison of fitting results of the piezometric level obtained from the present statistical model and traditional statistical model with monitored values during the typhoon shows that the present model has a higher fitting accuracy and can simulate the uprush feature of the seepage pressure during the typhoon perfectly.展开更多

文摘The flying foxes optimization(FFO)algorithm,as a newly introduced metaheuristic algorithm,is inspired by the survival tactics of flying foxes in heat wave environments.FFO preferentially selects the best-performing individuals. This tendency will cause the newly generated solution to remain closely tied to the candidate optimal in the search area.To address this issue, the paper introduces an opposition-based learning-based search mechanism for FFO algorithm(IFFO).Firstly, this paper introduces niching techniques to improve the survival list method, which not only focuses on the adaptability of individuals but also considers the population’s crowding degree to enhance the global search capability.Secondly,an initialization strategy of opposition-based learning is used to perturb the initial population and elevate its quality. Finally,to verify the superiority of the improved search mechanism,IFFO,FFO and the cutting-edge metaheuristic algorithms are compared and analyzed using a set of test functions. The results prove that compared with other algorithms,IFFO is characterized by its rapid convergence, precise results and robust stability.
文摘To improve the productivity, the resource utilization and reduce the production cost of flexible job shops, this paper designs an improved two-layer optimization algorithm for the dual-resource scheduling optimization problem of flexible job shop considering workpiece batching.Firstly,a mathematical model is established to minimize the maximum completion time.Secondly,an improved two-layer optimization algorithm is designed:the outer layer algorithm uses an improved PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization)to solve the workpiece batching problem, and the inner layer algorithm uses an improved GA(Genetic Algorithm)to solve the dual-resource scheduling problem. Then,a rescheduling method is designed to solve the task disturbance problem, represented by machine failures, occurring in the workshop production process. Finally, the superiority and effectiveness of the improved two-layer optimization algorithm are verified by two typical cases. The case results show that the improved two-layer optimization algorithm increases the average productivity by 7.44% compared to the ordinary two-layer optimization algorithm.By setting the different numbers of AGVs(Automated Guided Vehicles)and analyzing the impact on the production cycle of the whole order, this paper uses two indicators, the maximum completion time decreasing rate and the average AGV load time,to obtain the optimal number of AGVs,which saves the cost of production while ensuring the production efficiency. This research combines the solved problem with the real production process, which improves the productivity and reduces the production cost of the flexible job shop, and provides new ideas for the subsequent research.

文摘In recent decades, fog computing has played a vital role in executing parallel computational tasks, specifically, scientific workflow tasks. In cloud data centers, fog computing takes more time to run workflow applications. Therefore,it is essential to develop effective models for Virtual Machine(VM)allocation and task scheduling in fog computing environments.Effective task scheduling,VM migration, and allocation, altogether optimize the use of computational resources across different fog nodes. This process ensures that the tasks are executed with minimal energy consumption, which reduces the chances of resource bottlenecks. In this manuscript, the proposed framework comprises two phases:(i)effective task scheduling using a fractional selectivity approach and(ii)VM allocation by proposing an algorithm by the name of Fitness Sharing Chaotic Particle Swarm Optimization(FSCPSO).The proposed FSCPSO algorithm integrates the concepts of chaos theory and fitness sharing that effectively balance both global exploration and local exploitation. This balance enables the use of a wide range of solutions that leads to minimal total cost and makespan,in comparison to other traditional optimization algorithms. The FSCPSO algorithm’s performance is analyzed using six evaluation measures namely,Load Balancing Level(LBL),Average Resource Utilization(ARU),total cost, makespan, energy consumption, and response time.In relation to the conventional optimization algorithms, the FSCPSO algorithm achieves a higher LBL of 39.12%,ARU of 58.15%,a minimal total cost of 1175,and a makespan of 85.87 ms,particularly when evaluated for 50 tasks.

文摘In the process of identifying parameters for a permanent magnet synchronous motor, the particle swarm optimization method is prone to being stuck in local optima in the later stages of iteration, resulting in low parameter accuracy. This work proposes a fuzzy particle swarm optimization approach based on the transformation function and the filled function. This approach addresses the topic of particle swarmoptimization in parameter identification from two perspectives.Firstly, the algorithm uses a transformation function to change the form of the fitness function without changing the position of the extreme point of the fitness function, making the extreme point of the fitness function more prominent and improving the algorithm’s search ability while reducing the algorithm’s computational burden.Secondly,on the basis of themulti-loop fuzzy control systembased onmultiplemembership functions,it is merged with the filled function to improve the algorithm’s capacity to skip out of the local optimal solution. This approach can be used to identify the parameters of permanent magnet synchronous motors by sampling only the stator current, voltage, and speed data. The simulation results show that the method can effectively identify the electrical parameters of a permanent magnet synchronous motor, and it has superior global convergence performance and robustness.
文摘The development of new technologies in smart cities is often hailed as it becomes a necessity to solve many problems like energy consumption and transportation. Wireless networks are part of these technologies but implementation of several antennas, using different frequency bandwidths for many applications might introduce a negative effect on human health security. In wireless networks, most antennas generate sidelobes SSL. SSL causes interference and can be an additional resource for RF power that can affect human being health. This paper aims to study algorithms that can reduce SSL. The study concerns typical uniform linear antenna arrays. Different optimum side lobe level reduction algorithms are presented. Genetic algorithm GA, Chebyshev, and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm are used in the optimization process. A comparative study between the indicated algorithms in terms of stability, precision, and running time is shown. Results show that using these algorithms in optimizing antenna parameters can reduce SSL. A comparison of these algorithms is carried out and results show the difference between them in terms of running time and SSL reduction Level.

文摘Accurately and efficiently predicting the permeability of porous media is essential for addressing a wide range of hydrogeological issues. However, the complexity of porous media often limits the effectiveness of individual prediction methods. This study introduces a novel Particle Swarm Optimization-based Permeability Integrated Prediction model(PSO-PIP),which incorporates a particle swarm optimization algorithm enhanced with dy-namic clustering and adaptive parameter tuning(KGPSO).The model integrates multi-source data from the Lattice Boltzmann Method(LBM),Pore Network Modeling(PNM),and Finite Difference Method(FDM).By assigning optimal weight coefficients to the outputs of these methods, the model minimizes deviations from actual values and enhances permeability prediction performance.Initially, the computational performances of the LBM,PNM,and FDM are comparatively analyzed on datasets consisting of sphere packings and real rock samples. It is observed that these methods exhibit computational biases in certain permeability ranges. The PSOPIP model is proposed to combine the strengths of each computational approach and mitigate their limitations. The PSO-PIP model consistently produces predictions that are highly congruent with actual permeability values across all prediction intervals, significantly enhancing prediction accuracy. The outcomes of this study provide a new tool and perspective for the comprehensive, rapid, and accurate prediction of permeability in porous media.

文摘Blending is an important unit operation in process industry. Blending scheduling is nonlinear optimiza- tion problem with constraints. It is difficult to obtain optimum solution by other general optimization methods. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is developed for nonlinear optimization problems with both contin- uous and discrete variables. In order to obtain a global optimum solution quickly, PSO algorithm is applied to solve the problem of blending scheduling under uncertainty. The calculation results based on an example of gasoline blending agree satisfactory with the ideal values, which illustrates that the PSO algorithm is valid and effective in solving the blending scheduling problem.

文摘The determination of optimal values for three parameters required in the original particle swarm optimization algorithm is very difficult. It is proposed that two new parameters simulating the harmony search strategy can be adopted instead of the three parameters which are required in the original particle swarm optimization algorithm to update the positions of all the particles. The improved particle swarm optimization is used in the location of the critical slip surface of soil slope, and it is found that the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is insensitive to the two parameters while the original particle swarm optimization algorithm can be sensitive to its three parameters.

文摘Multibody system dynamics provides a strong tool for the estimation of dynamic performances and the optimization of multisystem robot design. Examples are performed to test the effectiveness of the double-PSO-based instantaneous optimal control. The results show that the method has high accuracy, a fast convergence speed, and a wide range of applications. All the above verify the immense potential applications of the PSO method in multibody system dynamics.

文摘Extreme hydrological events induced by typhoons in reservoir areas have presented severe challenges to the safe operation of hydraulic structures. Comparison of fitting results of the piezometric level obtained from the present statistical model and traditional statistical model with monitored values during the typhoon shows that the present model has a higher fitting accuracy and can simulate the uprush feature of the seepage pressure during the typhoon perfectly.

文摘Dynamic optimization of electromechanical coupling system is a significant engineering problem in the field of mechatronics. The performance improvement of electromechanical equipment depends on the system design parameters. Aiming at the spindle unit of refitted machine tool for solid rocket, the vibration acceleration of tool is taken as objective function, and the electromechanical system design parameters are appointed as design variables. Dynamic optimization model is set up by adopting Lagrange-Maxwell equations, Park transform and electromechanical system energy equations. In the procedure of seeking high efficient optimization method, exponential function is adopted to be the weight function of particle swarm optimization algorithm. Exponential inertia weight particle swarm algorithm(EPSA), is formed and applied to solve the dynamic optimization problem of electromechanical system. The probability density function of EPSA is presented and used to perform convergence analysis. After calculation, the optimized design parameters of the spindle unit are obtained in limited time period.
