Although single-acquisition phase-sensitive SSFP can provide fat-suppressed images in short scan time, phase errors, especially spatially-dependent phase shift, caused by a variety of factors may result in misplacement of fat and water voxels. In this paper, a novel phase correction algorithm was used to calibrate those phase errors during image reconstruction. This algorithm corrects phase by region growing, employing both the magnitude and the phase information of image pixels. Phantom and in vivo imagings were performed to validate the technique. As a result, excellent fat-suppressed images were acquired by using single-acquisition phase-sensitive SSFP with phase correction.展开更多

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of omega-3 fatty acid supplementation on the phase angle of people living with HIV/AIDS. Methods: In this study, 63 individuals of all genders who were undergoing outpatient follow-up and showed lipodystrophy due to highly active antiretroviral therapy were analyzed. Our sample consisted of two groups, one that received supplementation containing 2550 mg of omega-3/day (1080 mg of eicosapentaenoic acid and 720 mg of docosahexaenoic acid) for three months (n = 32) and another that underwent nutrition guidance (n = 31). Phase angle and body cell mass were assessed for both groups and compared at the beginning of research (T0) and after our intervention (T1) for each group separately. Results: Phase angle averaged 6.45° ± 1.06 SD. The comparison between T0 and T1 showed a significant increase in phase angle and body cell mass, whereas the guidance group showed a decrease in body cell mass at T1 in relation to T0, with a significant p-value. Variance in phase angle between moments showed significant values between T0 and T1 in the supplementation group for all genders. Conclusion: Omega-3 positively modulated patients phase angle and body cell mass, but we emphasize the need for other studies that can solidify knowledge about supplementation dosage and intervention time.展开更多

文摘We use the first arrival traveltime to correct the phase distortion in a nonlinear wave equation inversion scheme. This improves the precision of tomographic reconstruction of a velocity structure with large variations and helps solve the ill-posed problem of wave equation inversion. When the variation of the velocity distribution is large, general non-linear wave equation inversions are very ill-posed and for such strong nonlinear we can not obtain a correct inversion. One of main reasons is that the calculated and observed phase of the wavefield differs greatly if the initial model is far from the true model. This leads to highly mismatched phase between the calculated and the observed wave field. This is so-called"Cycle Skipping"problem in the full waveform inversion. The phase mismatch is even more pronounced if a high operating frequency is employed in order to increase resolution. To address this problem,we use the first arrival to"demodulate"the wave field in the frequency domain with a goal of restoring the phase of wave field. Then we minimize an objective function consisting of so called"demodulated"wave field to solve wave equation inversion problem. In this way,we find that the inversion is much improved, and when the velocity perturbation in a complicated model reaches 35%,we can still obtain a good inversion.A computer simulation shows that our method is very robust for acoustical wave inversion with good reconstruction precision.

文摘A time-resolved x-ray diffraction technique is employed to monitor the structural transformation of laser-shocked bismuth. Results reveal a retarded transformation from the shock-induced Bi-Ⅴphase to a metastable Bi-Ⅳphase during the shock release, instead of the thermodynamically stable Bi-Ⅲphase.The emergence of the metastable Bi-Ⅳphase is understood by the competitive interplay between two transformation pathways towards the Bi-Ⅳand Bi-Ⅲ,respectively.The former is more rapid than the latter because the Bi-Ⅴto B-Ⅳtransformation is driven by interaction between the closest atoms while the Bi-Ⅴto B-Ⅲtransformation requires interaction between the second-closest atoms. The nucleation time for the Bi-Ⅴto Bi-Ⅳtransformation is determined to be 5.1±0.9 ns according to a classical nucleation model. This observation demonstrates the importance of the formation of the transient metastable phases, which can change the phase transformation pathway in a dynamic process.

文摘The chimera states underlying many realistic dynamical processes have attracted ample attention in the area of dynamical systems. Here, we generalize the Kuramoto model with nonlocal coupling incorporating higher-order interactions encoded with simplicial complexes.Previous works have shown that higher-order interactions promote coherent states. However, we uncover the fact that the introduced higher-order couplings can significantly enhance the emergence of the incoherent state.Remarkably, we identify that the chimera states arise as a result of multi-attractors in dynamic states.Importantly, we review that the increasing higher-order interactions can significantly shape the emergent probability of chimera states. All the observed results can be well described in terms of the dimension reduction method. This study is a step forward in highlighting the importance of nonlocal higher-order couplings, which might provide control strategies for the occurrence of spatial-temporal patterns in networked systems.

文摘Weak measurement amplification, which is considered as a very promising scheme in precision measurement, has been applied to various small physical quantities estimations.Since many physical quantities can be converted into phase signals,it is interesting and important to consider measuring small longitudinal phase shifts by using weak measurement. Here,we propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel weak measurement amplification-based small longitudinal phase estimation, which is suitable for polarization interferometry. We realize one order of magnitude amplification measurement of a small phase signal directly introduced by a liquid crystal variable retarder and show that it is robust to the imperfection of interference.Besides,we analyze the effect of magnification error which is never considered in the previous works, and find the constraint on the magnification. Our results may find important applications in high-precision measurements,e.g.,gravitational wave detection.
文摘The global diabetes surge poses a critical public health challenge, emphasizing the need for effective glycemic control. However, rapid correction of chronic hyperglycemia can unexpectedly trigger microvascular complications, necessitating a reevaluation of the speed and intensity of glycemic correction.Theories suggest swift blood sugar reductions may cause inflammation, oxidative stress, and neurovascular changes, resulting in complications.Healthcare providers should cautiously approach aggressive glycemic control, especially in long-standing,poorly controlled diabetes.Preventing and managing these complications requires a personalized, comprehensive approach with education, monitoring, and interdisciplinary care.Diabetes management must balance short and longterm goals, prioritizing overall well-being.This editorial underscores the need for a personalized, nuanced approach, focusing on equilibrium between glycemic control and avoiding overcorrection.

文摘Dendrite growth is a complex liquid-solid phase transition process involving multiple physical factors.A phase-field lattice-Boltzmann method was developed to simulate the two-and three-dimension dendrite growth of Al-Cu alloy. The effect of fully coupled thermal-solute-convection interaction on the dendrite growth was investigated by incorporating a parallel-adaptive mesh refinement algorithm into the numerical model.By accurately reproducing the latent heat release, solute diffusion and convective transport behaviors at the liquidsolid interface, the interaction mechanism among thermal-solute-convection transport as well as their coupling effects on the dendrite growth dynamics were discussed. The simulation results show that the release of latent heat slows down the dendrite growth rate, and both natural and forced convection disrupt the symmetrical growth of dendrites.Their combination makes the growth of dendrites more complex, capturing important physical aspects such as recalescence, dendrite tip splitting, dendrite tilting, dendrite remelting, and solute plume in the simulation case.Based on the robustness and powerful ability of the numerical model, the formation mechanisms of these physical aspects were revealed.

文摘Anisotropic hyperbolic phonon polaritons(PhPs)in natural biaxial hyperbolic materialα-MoO_(3) has opened up new avenues for mid-infrared nanophotonics, while active tunability ofα-MoO_(3) PhPs is still an urgent problem necessarily to be solved. In this study,we present a theoretical demonstration of actively tuningα-MoO_(3) PhPs using phase change material VO_(2) and graphene. It is observed thatα-MoO_(3) PhPs are greatly dependent on the propagation plane angle of PhPs.The insulator-to-metal phase transition of VO_(2) has a significant effect on the hybridization PhPs of theα-MoO_(3)/VO_(2) structure and allows to obtain actively tunableα-MoO_(3) PhPs,which is especially obvious when the propagation plane angle of PhPs is 900.Moreover,when graphene surface plasmon sources are placed at the top or bottom ofα-MoO_(3) inα-MoO_(3)/VO_(2)structure,tunable coupled hyperbolic plasmon-phonon polaritons inside its Reststrahlen bands(RB s)and surface plasmonphonon polaritons outside its RBs can be achieved. In addition, the above-mentionedα-MoO_(3)-based structures also lead to actively tunable anisotropic spontaneous emission(SE)enhancement. This study may be beneficial for realization of active tunability of both PhPs and SE ofα-MoO_(3),and facilitate a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of anisotropic light-matter interaction inα-MoO_(3) using functional materials.

文摘Objective This study aimed to evaluate whether the onset of the plateau phase of slow hepatitis B surface antigen decline in patients with chronic hepatitis B treated with intermittent interferon therapy is related to the frequency of dendritic cell subsets and expression of the costimulatory molecules CD40,CD80,CD83,and CD86.Method This was a cross-sectional study in which patients were divided into a natural history group(namely NH group),a long-term oral nucleoside analogs treatment group(namely NA group),and a plateau-arriving group(namely P group). The percentage of plasmacytoid dendritic cell and myeloid dendritic cell subsets in peripheral blood lymphocytes and monocytes and the mean fluorescence intensity of their surface costimulatory molecules were detected using a flow cytometer. Results In total,143 patients were enrolled(NH group,n=49;NA group,n=47;P group,n=47).The results demonstrated that CD141/CD1c double negative myeloid dendritic cell(DNmDC)/lymphocytes and monocytes(%)in P group(0.041[0.024,0.069])was significantly lower than that in NH group(0.270[0.135,0.407])and NA group(0.273[0.150,0.443]),and CD86 mean fluorescence intensity of DNmDCs in P group(1832.0[1484.0,2793.0])was significantly lower than that in NH group(4316.0[2958.0,5169.0])and NA group(3299.0[2534.0,4371.0]),Adjusted P all<0.001.Conclusion Reduced DNmDCs and impaired maturation may be associated with the onset of the plateau phase during intermittent interferon therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
